*** How to use CoachTuner ? ***
The open strings of a guitar from the thickest to thinest are as follows:
E – the thickest or lowest sounding string is known as the 6th string
A – is the 5th
D – is the 4th
G – is the 3rd
B – is the 2nd
E – the thinest or highest is the 1st
1) First, play your low E string (6th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "E" and "OK" must be displayed
2) Play your low A string (5th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "A" and "OK" must be displayed
3) Play your low D string (4th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "D" and "OK" must be displayed
4) Play your low G string (3th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "G" and "OK" must be displayed

The ease of use for a guitar player to both plug in or go acoustic to get in tune is substantial in this app. I’m not just impressed that this sort of thing can be built into my phone (I’ve used plenty of bad tuning apps) but also it’s unmistakeable and no fuss GUI, make it a must have for the traveling crooner. Such occasions for spontaneous need for tuning most assuredly include drunken jam circles. You’ll be glad you grabbed this freebie. It doesn’t let you down. It only lifts you up. more -

However, it has become my go to tuner when using anything other than standard tuning! It has a library of alternate tunings that is large and impressive! One of my instructors give me a alternate tuning assignment every week - Tony Polecastro - and this app is always right on with its organization and # of alternate tunings! No other tuner I have found is as efficient when it comes to alternate tunings. Suggestion to developers: include the ability to change the reference scale. I like to tune to 432mhz as well (vs. 440mhz). more -

I play the ukulele, and I couldn’t find a ukulele tuner so this app works just fine. I just wish that you didn’t have to pay for a subscription just to get rid of the ads, because the ads make it take a lot longer. As soon as I open the app there’s literally 2 ads already. I just want to tune my ukulele and not have to wait 3 minutes for an ad to finish. Please make an ad free version cuz there’s no way I’m getting a subscription. Also there’s no chords dictionary for the uke, only for the guitar. other than that great app. 👍 more -

I’ve been playing guitar for 3 months now and I can play quite a bit of songs. When I find new songs and it has a new chord I just go to this app. (I use Ultimate guitar to find songs). I also play ukulele so this is also really helpful for that. The only thing I don’t like is every time I log on there is an add. But other than that great app!! more -

This app is very helpful and I would recommend. It tells you if you need to go up or down in pitch and overall worked very good for me. I will be using this is the future! more -

But it has a few tiny details that I feel like are my fault but just wanted to tell you guys— So it was going great!! It works fine until I got to d, a and e, it couldn’t read the sound and picked a totally different letter! Like I played the d note and it kept saying it was a E which could be my fault for not tuning it correctly but I just wanted to point that out to see if it could be fixed. But except from that it’s awesome! (Expect for having to pay for it, which I didn’t lol) Bye, and thanks for reading! more -

From when your trying to tune to a drop c can sometimes be really difficult but it’s really accurate that’s why I’m suggesting manual tuning so it can be more accurate. And if you don’t get what I mean by manual is when you tap on a cord it stays there tune it then tap on the next, but this app overall is accurate and a really great tuner I highly suggest it the best two dollars I’ve spent on in my life. more -

I was really looking forward to learning how to play guitar, too. So that’s what bummed me out the most, i would recommend it, but I wouldn’t want any other people have they’re strings break too. I don’t really know if this review is accurate, because it broke within the first few minutes I had the app, so I don’t have much experience with this app, but just be careful when you tune your guitar with this app. 😔 more -

Now they’ve changed it to $7.49 a week for premium... really? A week?! Come on guys, I understand you’re proud of your app but seriously. That’s too rich for my blood and I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way. Let’s get real, most normal guitar players don’t have disposable income like that. So I one starred it. It works fine but I wouldn’t ever pay that much for something that I could just literally find in a hundred different places on the internet for free. more -
Great tuner, but inaccessible
Feb 24, 2021 By SamlovesstoliI have always loved this app, and have used it for many years, but starting last year it’s literally impossible to use it because as soon as I open the app an add pops up, and I’ve waited for it to finish and so I can exit and use the tuner, but the exit never appears. I’ve tried interacting with the add, and still it won’t go away, rendering the app completely useless, and a waste of time. It’s a shame, I don’t like change but it’s definitely time to delete the app and find a better tuner in the App Store. more -
Not the greatest and too many ads

I took longer than it would take to tune my guitar, and the tuning isn’t even perfect. I guess nothing free is really “WOW” you know. more -

I severely recommend not getting it and not spending any money on it because I have also seen bad reviews about the trial. So overall it is complete crap and a complete waste of time. Especially when you have just changed your strings and when they are really out of tune. So basically it is impossible to use. 👿👿👿👿👿 more -

Jul 9, 2018 By no nicknames are open!This is one of the worst tuner apps i've ever had I am a beginner in the guitar world and my guitar is not tune at all and thanks to the app now it's even worse the app can't recognize a string from string I keep saying that my G string is my B string and then I want tune it right the app is way off it's super hard to even play a string for the app because there are so many ads the app doesn't register some of the strings the second E string it will not register I thought this app would work but it didn't and I do not recommend downloading more -

I bought all the extra tunings because it was a flat rate and ya know why not. Now that they’ve updated it though, it’s a pay by WEEK thing and I think that is absolutely ridiculous. If you’re gonna do that I suggest just using your money on a better tuning app like GuitarTuna. And I don’t even get my like $3 back. >:( more -

I really like this app and all the different setting I just would like to be able to use what I paid for help a guy out? Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it says I’m currently subscribed to the yearly access but I can’t even use it. more -
Hostage Ads

Then there’s no way out of the ad, even if you close and restart. $7.99 a week for a tuner is bonafide assault so that’s not an option. 2 stars because the layout of reliability of the actual tuning tool is good. more -
Good idea but expensive and doesn’t work

The tuner is ok, not the most precise but if all the features actually worked maybe useful but also even if they did, 7.99 dollar subscription..... that’s not cool at all man. Especially when there are several free tuners that are much more accurate. more

I’ve been playing guitar for 3 months now and I can play quite a bit of songs. When I find new songs and it has a new chord I just go to this app. (I use Ultimate guitar to find songs). I also play ukulele so this is also really helpful for that. The only thing I don’t like is every time I log on there is an add. But other than that great app!! more -
Great!! But...

But it has a few tiny details that I feel like are my fault but just wanted to tell you guys— So it was going great!! It works fine until I got to d, a and e, it couldn’t read the sound and picked a totally different letter! Like I played the d note and it kept saying it was a E which could be my fault for not tuning it correctly but I just wanted to point that out to see if it could be fixed. But except from that it’s awesome! (Expect for having to pay for it, which I didn’t lol) Bye, and thanks for reading! more -
Overall amazing

From when your trying to tune to a drop c can sometimes be really difficult but it’s really accurate that’s why I’m suggesting manual tuning so it can be more accurate. And if you don’t get what I mean by manual is when you tap on a cord it stays there tune it then tap on the next, but this app overall is accurate and a really great tuner I highly suggest it the best two dollars I’ve spent on in my life. more -

I gave it a four because I still had to find a video on how to turn the right way and how to fine tune but I eventually got it. This was easy than I expected and I use it when my strings sound off. Why the ads?

I like your tone indicating the right freq. on your tuner because I double check with a clip on tuner and it works great. But your tuner is not really visible because it’s turned...I do very long recording sessions and I can use all the help I can get. Accuracy is very important. more -

Ukulele needs improvement.

I cannot figure out how to change the chord diagrams to a ukulele, and I don’t think there’s an option to do so. Great for guitar and bass, but the ukulele part needs improvement. more -
Missing something

I can’t find the bajo quinto so when it gets untuned i can’t find an app I was hoping for this one to have a tuner for a Bajo Quinto. I Recommend the app to people who play Bass, Ukulele, and guitar but not for people who play bajo quinto since there is no tuner for it more -

I would like if I were able to learn new chords and that was one of the mane reasons I got the app. I’m not sure if there are just no ukulele options I can’t find proper instructions. more -

I was really looking forward to learning how to play guitar, too. So that’s what bummed me out the most, i would recommend it, but I wouldn’t want any other people have they’re strings break too. Not the greatest and too many ads

I took longer than it would take to tune my guitar, and the tuning isn’t even perfect. I guess nothing free is really “WOW” you know. more -

Then there’s no way out of the ad, even if you close and restart. $7.99 a week for a tuner is bonafide assault so that’s not an option. 2 stars because the layout of reliability of the actual tuning tool is good. more -
Good idea but expensive and doesn’t work

The tuner is ok, not the most precise but if all the features actually worked maybe useful but also even if they did, 7.99 dollar subscription..... that’s not cool at all man. Especially when there are several free tuners that are much more accurate. more -
Used to be nice

But now the app won’t let you use this feature unless you pay upright of $7 week (or they have a “discount” for $40 a year). If you ask me I don’t understand why something so simple should cost so much, but I guess I’m just cheap 🤷♀️ more -
Don’t recommend

Works well but over-run with ads!

Its a free app, so I understand the need for ads to bring in some revenue, but keep it to one every 15 minutes and, if possible, related to music. more -

Wrong. This app caused one of my guitar strings to BREAK. I wasn’t strumming aggressively or anything. I tried tuning up and down but it kept telling me to do more then my string snapped. Wouldn’t recommend this app. Very angry. more

Overpriced

Now they’ve changed it to $7.49 a week for premium... really? A week?! Come on guys, I understand you’re proud of your app but seriously. That’s too rich for my blood and I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way. Let’s get real, most normal guitar players don’t have disposable income like that. So I one starred it. It works fine but I wouldn’t ever pay that much for something that I could just literally find in a hundred different places on the internet for free. more -
Great tuner, but inaccessible

I’ve tried interacting with the add, and still it won’t go away, rendering the app completely useless, and a waste of time. It’s a shame, I don’t like change but it’s definitely time to delete the app and find a better tuner in the App Store. more -

I severely recommend not getting it and not spending any money on it because I have also seen bad reviews about the trial. So overall it is complete crap and a complete waste of time. Jul 9, 2018 By no nicknames are open!This is one of the worst tuner apps i've ever had I am a beginner in the guitar world and my guitar is not tune at all and thanks to the app now it's even worse the app can't recognize a string from string I keep saying that my G string is my B string and then I want tune it right the app is way off it's super hard to even play a string for the app because there are so many ads the app doesn't register some of the strings the second E string it will not register I thought this app would work but it didn't and I do not recommend downloading more -

I bought all the extra tunings because it was a flat rate and ya know why not. Now that they’ve updated it though, it’s a pay by WEEK thing and I think that is absolutely ridiculous. If you’re gonna do that I suggest just using your money on a better tuning app like GuitarTuna. And I don’t even get my like $3 back. >:( more -

I really like this app and all the different setting I just would like to be able to use what I paid for help a guy out? Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it says I’m currently subscribed to the yearly access but I can’t even use it. more -
Didn’t like it one bit

It didn’t bother telling me wether the string was tuned properly or not. The little needle stayed put in the dead center the entire time, no matter what string I played. Overall annoyed that I downloaded this. Rather keep looking for my tuner more -

I payed for all of the tunings and now with this update I have to pay a weekly subscription? Hell no! This is complete bull. This is fraud at its finest. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone, it’s not worth $8 a week or $38 dollars a year. You can find a free app that works just as fine. more -

What’s Groovy
I highly recommend this! It's quality is excellent, it's easy, and just downright fun! I'm in a family of people that plays guitar and they're always complaining about how hard it is to tune a guitar, but this app gets the job done in mere minutes! Today one of my strings was miraculously loose, so much so that it didn't even make sound but with all I've learned from this and the tuning system I could fix it in under 10 minutes! THAT is amazing!
Now I'm a COMPLETE noob to guitar, barely ever picked one up let alone play it but this app makes me feel like a pure pro! If you need a tuner, teacher, guitar buddy, someone to help you from tuning to playing songs, this app is 11/10 by me!

What’s Subpar
I got the trial and I wasn’t even able to do ANY other tunings on than the standard, it’s a trial for a reason, I get to try it. Not only that problem, but also, why the hell cant I do more than one tuning with the standard version??? Worst guitar app I’ve seen, you literally can’t do anything. Who in their right mind would pay $8 a week just to tune a guitar? Literally the worst thing possible. Never seen such a waste of money other than the games that use subscriptions and also cost $7-$15 a week, just ridiculous. Not even the FREE TRIAL is worth it
