Good App if You Have Your Phone in Front of You Often
Jun 21, 2017 Reasons why this app is good: 1. Of all the other break timers, this one really is the best available in the Apple App Store. I've downloaded a number of them with the exception of those that had bad popup reviews, and this one is the best. 2. You can setup the Start and Stop time, set the interval time and days of the week, and it shows you at the top of the screen how many of the goal breaks you were able to hit. 3. They seem very customer focused with a button to directly email them with feedback. Reasons why this app is bad: 1. The black background is hard to see in the sunlight. 2. The alert volume is very low. I have it on the highest setting and still miss my alerts. 3. The alarm will only go off once. If I miss it (refer to number 2 above) I'm SOL. It doesn't keep beeping until you've acknowledged the reminder either. So I've often missed two to three timers in a row and never noticed. 4. You have to pay extra for the other sounds. I would rather pay more upfront then get hit with surprise costs. Makes me feel like they tried getting one over me. This app would get five stars if: 1. The reminder didn't go away until i picked up my phone and acknowledged it and if it were a little darn louder! Everything else would be a nice change (background color, one price for the app and sounds) but not necessary for 5 stars.more -
Works exactly as I need it too
Jan 14, 2020 Discovered this app as I was looking for something to remind me to use the sit-stand desk I have at work. Love that you can easily change the intervals of reminders and other settings. The gps function is also really wonderful so I’m not bothered by reminders to stand and move when I’m not at my desk. The only reason I left a star off is the notification sounds. The one included in the free version is VERY quiet. I rarely hear it and, if my phone is off to the side, don’t see the screen light up. Hence, I miss the reminders quite a bit and only notice them if I check my phone for something. Would be lovely if there was an option for just a vibration only notification since I think I would feel that better than seeing or hearing the reminder. Great app for what I need it for!!more -
What a great app!
Oct 25, 2015 This app really does what it says it will do and gets me to stand up! I love that it has a visual record of how I'm doing for the day. It would be nice to have a history of that built in so I could compare days and see progress over time. I set mine for every 20 minutes, to remind me too look up from the screen for the sake of my eyes (and stand up to stretch while I'm at it). So I have also noticed that this app makes me much more aware of how fast time is flying by! And not to waste any time doing things I don't want to be doing! This is such a great help that I hope future versions enable me to remind myself of multiple things at once. Thanks for a great app!more -
Works really well; actually free
Jul 3, 2019 This is one of those rare apps where the free version actually works perfectly on its own. You can leave them a tip to unlock all the different alert sounds, but that’s all you’re missing out on. There are no ads in either version, which is amazing. Partially because of that, this is also the first app I’ve ever paid for an in-app purchase on. It was mainly because this app is perfect for my needs and they deserve it, but I also appreciate their respectful business model. I even wrote them an email with an improvement suggestion one time, and they actually responded. Seems like that’s rare these days.more -
Simple and Flexible
Nov 19, 2020 I have severe ADHD, so my sense of time is basically nonexistent; I really do require the scheduled alerts to even realize time has passed if I’m concentrating on something. I love that I can set this specifically to my office location, and choose not only how often to get up but also for how long. The interface is really straightforward and clean, and I really appreciate that ALL the additional sounds can be unlocked with just the one small purchase. I’ve only had this activated for half a day and I already feel WAY less exhausted and gross than I usually do. Probably the most successful health-related app I’ve tried so far.more

Does what it says on the tin
Feb 13, 2018 Update: Love the changes - they make an already great app even more useful. I like being able set a standing interval and see my 7-day history. I’ve used this app every work day for years, and I’m counting on it for many more to come. This app reminds me to stand up at regular intervals during the workday, which is exactly what I expect it to do. It gets five stars, though, for having a simple, intuitive, customizable interface along with the best privacy policy I've read. I've used this app on a near daily basis for over a year, and I can't imagine why I would ever stop.more -
What I needed and more
Sep 23, 2020 This app was exactly what I needed. I am extremely bad at remembering to take breaks if I am sitting at my desk for hours (sometimes 12+ hours nonstop). As a result I get lower back pain often. I use this app to remind me to get up and stretch every hour for five minutes between 10 AM and 10 PM. It tells me when to stand up and when I can sit back down. These times are all customizable. This app is very simple and easy to use. You can long press on the Lock Screen to bring up multiple options. The interface is clean and pleasant to look at. Well done!more

Good PA reminder!!
Oct 11, 2017 This app is the best of the physical activity (PA) or movement apps I have tested. Many other require turning on notifications for the day, and this one goes off every day, on time. I also really love the message (Stand up, we want you to live longer!) <-- that's pretty funny, and also sort of a guilt-trip. The one thing I think could be improved: the notifications may stack up if I don't look at my phone for a while. Maybe the app should require a more immediate response to turn off the notification (like an alarm would need).more

Would be better if used motion on phone
Jan 9, 2020 I work from home & sometimes am already up doing laundry or something when the reminder dings. Would be great if it only reminded you when you actually haven’t moved in the time set. I also originally downloaded this app several months ago - it worked for one day then stopped - worked w/ their support & finally came to the conclusion to delete & reinstall. Today is the first day I finally got around to it so we’ll see how long it lasts! Despite those complaints I DO like this app’s customizable options even in the free version! And it’s super simple to get started.more

What’s Groovy
I work at a desk and need a reminder to get up and move around. This is the perfect little app! You can select how often to remind you, what days, and even where. The snooze is a very nice feature too if you’re not able to get up and move at the moment. Simple and effective. It’s just what I need! It’s free with one sound but with a donation you can unlock other sounds. I personally like the Unignorable sound. And - you can customize your alert message. I put in a Bible Verse to memorize. Fancy that!! Every time the alarm goes off I get up to stretch AND practice my Bible memorization. I can’t say enough good things about “Stand Up!” I highly recommend this neat little app.

What’s Subpar
After downloading the application I found that I had to donate another $.99 or so to get the rest of the sounds for the alarm. But even after doing that the sounds didn’t really work. So I sent them an email and they responded very quickly saying that I should check almost all the settings on my iPhone that had anything to do with sound. After doing all that the sound still didn’t work so I sent them another email. They responded saying that I should delete the application and restore it and do a few more steps to try to make sure that that would work. After all that I could get the sound to work but only if the app was on and I was using the free app. So now I’m just dumping the app.
I’m using the timer on my phone. Or Alexa. Or even my grandfather clock!
