Review of FileMaster-privacy protection
Nov 7, 2021 By nodzdoubleNThe feature i love most about FileMaster is how it resumes downloads even when there is a period of inactivity to the process. In fact this seems to be the only downloader on iOS that has the feature. Other similar apps claim to have this feature, but alas a quick trial of those applications would disappoint. However, the transferring of videos to other video apps is cumbersome. This is as a result of not being able to transfer multiple files simultaneously. In addition, when FileMaster goes to the background of your applications on IOS, it ceases to download hence compelling the user to always leave the FileMaster window open. This is frustrating as you cannot multitask. I wish the developers would rectify these issues. more -

It works as planned though but as with many programs snags you to rate it without the ability to turn off the reminders. Overall it is a great program in theory (the earlier version was great). Negatives-inability to have browser as start screen. To use touch to unlock you have to first click a link for “fingerprint” and then unlock it. It touch to unlock is on it should default upon opening to let you simply touch and enter. And finally, add a third button to your rating nag screen so you have “Rate”, “Rate later” and “Ignore.” If your product is great the high ratings will come automatically without begging for them. more -

Dec 27, 2019 By Gacha AvilesHelp Every time I try to download a song It never works like I once stayed by my phone for 15 minutes and It wouldn’t work I really need help every time I do something on this app it comes out wrong and when I successfully download a song It always isn’t a song It’s just the name and when I press it it’s nothing them I look at how long the song is and It’s always 0:00 long and I don’t like it again if you fix this then I will love you forever❤️ more -

The user interface can be a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, the possibilities are endless!! This thing can handle music, videos, PDFs, you name it! I was extremely surprised when it was able to play my HEVC (h.265) videos! Where you at Apple?!? You can transfer files from your computer via WiFi, download just about any file on the web, and even unpack ZIP and RAR files!!! Oh and let's not forget about its Touch ID lock to keep away prying eyes! The UI may not be the smoothest or pleasing to the eyes, but is there anything this app can't do?!? more -
Definitely a top shelf app

Best feature is the ability to download audio and video from almost anywhere online…even when the other top online video downloaders cant download a video FileMaster works nearly every time. Even allows resuming a download as long as you don’t wait too long to resume it or change your connection while it’s paused your good. Thank you for such a well functioning and streamlined application. Your team truly are FILE MASTERS :) more -

This is a basic functionality that should have been included with Apple iOS, but FileMaster does it better than the Apple folks would have ever done it. Apple would have required you to use their crappy iTunes which needs to be updated twice a month. I’m surprised the petty little dictators running the Apple Store website even allows something as useful as FileMaster on their website. Grab it while it is still available. more -
Can’t transfer to iphone11
Feb 23, 2021 By EagleizeUPDATE: I was finally able to transfer all of my pdf’s, videos and MP3’s. I did need to do each transfer individually. Having everything in one folder makes the process less tedious. I don’t know when the update took place, but I’m glad I was able to hold onto my old phone and give it another try. I’m very happy with FileMaster again! Can’t transfer from my iPhone 6S to iPhone 11 via WiFi. Please update this so you can transfer your data phone to phone. Then I’d give more stars. Right now this app is useless to me. more -

Filemaster is free, easy, efficient, user friendly, and you don't have to pay for it. Ads are totally manageable. You can even link your google docs to it, and a couple other things. Great place to save files other than google docs. Plus, you can upload and download content between your phone with FileMaster and other devices that don’t have it, unlimited and for free. more -
The best one I’ve tried so far

The best thing about this is that I am able to get files from another computer without having to install any software. This has eliminated the need for a transfer app and another file manager, which saves both time and space. The interface is very easy to use, and there are plenty of options to have it run the way you want. Very nice work! more -
Great quality app

Even after the files app came out, I keep finding myself coming back for its simplicity and ease-of-use. It’s not perfect, but no app really is. For a free app, it’s pretty handy. The lack of a dark mode and the in-built browser being buggy at times is a bit disappointing, but I rarely use any browser other than safari anyway, so it’s no big deal. Keep up the good work. more

Something is seriously wrong with these developers
Jul 14, 2019 By +)DonnieD(+I don’t know what is quite wrong with the developers who make this app but it seems to me that every other update they do either breaks it or makes it worse. Now with the most recent upgrade which is not it’s really a downgrade I seem to no longer be able to access the stupid app using the general files application that is native to Apple. Half the time the Wi-Fi transfer doesn’t work correctly the other half the time I can no longer download media of the way are used to. It seems to me they purposefully are making this app crap more -
Needs improvements
Nov 17, 2017 By austin 3:15I used this app for 3 years and it was just great but as the ios progressed this app remained the same an in the case of iOS 11 it lost the web browser which isn’t really cool. Browser aside , in ipad pro 12’9 using the multitasking feature makes the app distorted and you have to give the bigger window size to filemaster in order to see the the full window app.( while multitasking it looks like a zoomed version which is worse while in portrait mode). Further improvements are needed to make the app fully functional again in iOS 11. more -
What is this?

The new version made Filemaster disappear from the Iphone Files On My Phone app. This was an important way I used the app, and I cannot find how to manually add it back so I can access it there, like I used to do, on a daily basis. If this is Apple issue and anyone aware of how to add it back, please post or something. This is very bad. How to I go back to previous version. more -
BIG Problem!🤬

I can’t download anymore!!! when I’m trying to download a music it shows a pop-up that says “Are you to save to PDF?”🤔😐 I don’t know what to do. Dear developers please solve this problem this app was one of a kind and there is no substitute for it. This app deserves 50stars ⭐️ but for now I can’t give more than 2. more -
App crashes

It seems like it creates a copy of it when you import it into a hidden folder. You still have to go and manually delete the original to keep it completely hidden. more -
Google Drive Protocol out of Date

It's now November 2017 and the developer still hasn't updated the protocol. 403. That’s an error. Error: disallowed_useragent This user-agent is not permitted to make an OAuth authorization request to Google as it is classified as an embedded user-agent (also known as a web-view). Drop in quality

Bugs: Ads NOT removed even after paying!

Save function corrected

Can only save the page in pdf format, not a fully loaded web page, results in a broken links and blank pictures.. Update: Issues resolved with iOS update; appreciate the update for new iOS more -
Fantastic app

Try the other apps first, but I guarantee you will find this app to be what you are looking for. The transfer from my ipad and other apple products to my pc is flawless. I am an actual person and not being paid to support this product. Give it a shot...... more -

Wifi transfer , password protection, photo importing and exporting capabilities are really smooth! And also very amazing drop down menu options I honestly can't complain about this app Some minor improvements would be welcomed such as Touch ID compatibility etc . Great but one small bug
Dec 1, 2019 By wintersverseWhen I try to listen to music after I imported a folder online it only plays the music I downloaded directly onto my iPad before the folder was imported. The music will play but the second the song ends while the iPad is turned off it goes back to looping the same five songs that weren’t in the folder when I imported them. Otherwise I love the app no problems and is super easy to use! more -
Very useful with one functional drawback for my use

You must then go back to the original folder and delete the item unless you want the item in two different places. If anyone knows of another way to transfer files to a particular folder please let me know. more -
No sound from bluetooth

Trying to play mp4 vids and no sound out of either one of my bests pill+, but avi video files work fine. Maybe playing an avi file in general destroyed mp4 or anything else working properly with bluetooth. This needs to be fixed more -

There is now a legitimate & functional file (Finder) system on the phone and is utilisable just like on a desk/lap top. A multitude of various file types are importable & usable within the phone. Cut/Copy, Paste, Rename, Send/Share, Mulit-Select/Select All, Import, Transfer… etc. No headaches, no hassles. If a file can be txt-messaged, emailed, sampled, viewed… etc… then it can be incorporated into the file-system for immediate usage. Free Download & Full Usage. Ads present. They can be permanently removed for a nominal fee… Well worth the modest price, and the developer is certainly worth supporting for a job well done. Also, an integration with iCloud would be great, though there are ways to go around this and make it work. It takes some more steps, but it can be done. more -
Great alternative to iTunes

I am also able to create music sub-folders, put music files into those folders and only play songs in the selected folder. You can’t do that using iTunes more -

In IOS 11, particularly, Files app (original app by apple) your app FileMaster doesn’t show in the beside for management of my files for example, if I want to move many file from FileMaster to another app, I face a problem in moving one of my file from your app to another app then, come back again and do the same things to move my second file. Suppose I have 100 files (pdf viewers) in your app FileMaster how to move it in ONE touch to another app 🤦🏻♂️ I hope you can manage and handle this problem. more -
Decent but would pay for more features.

So I tried this... it’s decent and easy to use/figure out. But I wish it had more options for video and slideshow playback...like repeat, shuffle, auto play next file in the folder, etc. I’m giving it 3 stars because it does what it’s says it’ll do (password protect and store files, play music and videos, show pictures, etc), but it doesn’t really meet my needs as far as being able to play files back to back without having to closing that particular file down and opening new file I want to play/view. I use slideshows all the time for work, and would love a repeat feature so I don’t have to close the file down, reopen it, and hit play. more -
Pretty Cool

Update, I get asked frequently to post an update. And the app always has a red one on the icon, letting me know there is oak in notification for me. But I don’t know what it is, and it’s annoying. This brings the reviews down to a 3. If the app starts asking me to do another review again every time I open it, again, I’m going to bring my review down to a 2. more -
Great software, but…

Since I began using this product, efforts have increased obscenely dramatically. Every time I move around in the software or leave briefly and return, I’m subjected to moronic ads. I wouldn’t hesitate to hit the delete button on this product, but you are all alike. So, I’ll probably pay the extortion money. more -
Great app, BUT Difficulties

Also I am not able to export and convert the pdf files to Pages documents and other app formats. This forces me to share the Filemaster files with Adobe or other pdf apps so that I can copy or convert the files to Word, Pages or other usable forms. more -
Needs more fluidity when browsing videos

However, you can not watch a video and then skip to another video or any image without completely closing the video. There could also be a custom option to sort files by as opposed to only date modified, file size, and file type. more -

Now there is a bug where I can’t scroll through audio it just swipes back a screen or forward a screen. I have to start the whole song over instead of if I just want to scroll back a little more -
How can I recover my files that disappeared after restore from backup?

Needs improvements
Nov 17, 2017 By austin 3:15I used this app for 3 years and it was just great but as the ios progressed this app remained the same an in the case of iOS 11 it lost the web browser which isn’t really cool. Browser aside , in ipad pro 12’9 using the multitasking feature makes the app distorted and you have to give the bigger window size to filemaster in order to see the the full window app.( while multitasking it looks like a zoomed version which is worse while in portrait mode). Further improvements are needed to make the app fully functional again in iOS 11. more -
What is this?

The new version made Filemaster disappear from the Iphone Files On My Phone app. This was an important way I used the app, and I cannot find how to manually add it back so I can access it there, like I used to do, on a daily basis. If this is Apple issue and anyone aware of how to add it back, please post or something. This is very bad. How to I go back to previous version. more -

App crashes

It seems like it creates a copy of it when you import it into a hidden folder. You still have to go and manually delete the original to keep it completely hidden. more -
Drop in quality

Something is seriously wrong with these developers

Now with the most recent upgrade which is not it’s really a downgrade I seem to no longer be able to access the stupid app using the general files application that is native to Apple. Half the time the Wi-Fi transfer doesn’t work correctly the other half the time I can no longer download media of the way are used to. It seems to me they purposefully are making this app crap more -

What’s Groovy
Fresh review since last years june update app has stop being as productive n good as before. One main feature which should be added back which was earlier but go removed due to update n has made app useless for me is multitasking festure or splitview. That is the app can run simaltaneously on side in split view with another. This feature was there before bt after update is gone. Please add split view multitasking again like we can use chrome or safari browsers with other apps open.
Old review: App gave a new update on june 19. ,2018. I updated the app and next thing i know is that app is not downloading any file. No audio, no video, no pdf nothing cud be downloaded. If developer himself has removed download ability then he should tell people, i iwill delete this app cause without videos and pdf download ability this app is useless to me.

What’s Subpar
I like the idea of this app. But the video camera is TERRIBLE quality. Ive tried this with two different phones. iPhone 8 and iPhone XR. When I video normally with the standard camera app, my video is crisp and clear. When I video with this app, it’s low quality, pixelated and blurry. Both phones. This needs to be fixed. I also checked the app settings in my iPhone settings to see if I could allow higher quality but you can’t. There are also no quality changes within the app to fix this. Has to be a glitch. I was going to reach out to support before leaving feedback but if you go to app support in iTunes, it takes to you a web site where the only contact button takes you to a Chinese page where nothing is clickable. So I’m reaching out for support this way. If they fix this issue, I’ll change to a 5 star! To test, video on an iPhone within the app and while not using the app. Compare quality. Thank you.
