Must-Have Apps for Networking While Social Distancing
Social distancing has made networking a little more difficult than usual. But with the right apps, you can find many more connections than ever before.
Whether you are trying to find a new job or you are simply looking for new clients, networking is one of the most effective ways to do it. It used to be that you would go to job fairs or trade shows for this. Unfortunately, neither of these is an option due to COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines.
Fortunately, there are ways that you can meet people online rather than in person so that you can make connections and hopefully achieve the results that you want. One of the best ways that I have found to do this is through sites such as Fiverr and Upwork. Both of these can help you build your business if you have a marketable skill. Fiverr allows you to create gigs, which showcase your skills and bring people in to find you. Upwork is a site where people post their jobs, and you bid on them.
Even though you can't meet in person, it's always a good idea to speak face to face with prospective clients just to show that you are a real person. Zoom and Skype are both great ways to do this, and both of them have free basic plans so you can save money. They also both work on either a cell phone or a computer, so you can use them interchangeably. This is very handy when you're in the office, and you have to leave - you don't have to worry about breaking your connection.
Finally, you want to make sure that your resume is updated with the latest information about your skills and the jobs you have worked. Uploading your resume to your LinkedIn account and other places will help you get noticed by prospective clients.
There are so many options that you can use to network while social distancing, and we have only touched on a few of them. Please keep coming back to read our articles and keep an eye on site - something very exciting is coming soon!

Even during the lockdown, people somehow still seem short on time. Scheduling an online meeting shouldn't be a hassle. Let your friends or colleagues know when you're available and they will pick a suitable time slot - for a 15-minute chat or a 1-hour meeting. Well adapted to any time zone.
