The holidays are coming, and though we may not be able to do gift exchanges in person, having a Secret Santa exchange is the next best thing.
The holidays have a different face this year. With many people working remotely, the idea of gift exchanges for the holidays isn't quite as simple. However, the good news is that there are ways that you can still have a gift exchange with apps. This is perfect whether you do it with friends, family, or coworkers.
The first thing you have to do is create a database of those who want to sign up for the exchange. This should include things such as names, addresses, emails, and any other pertinent information such as sizes, allergies, etc. Make sure that you give a signup date and have a minimum price range set.
After you have a list, you can use an app to match everyone up.
Next, if you are participating in the gift exchange yourself, you want to make sure that you find ways to share your wishlist if you have one. If you have created it on Amazon, it's easy to share. But if you don't have a list of things that you want, that's okay too! Sometimes it's fun to be surprised and see what your Secret Santa comes up with.
Finally, you want to take the time to go and shop for the gifts for your recipient. Look at what they have on their wish list, if they gave you one, or think about what they put in their likes/dislikes, allergies, etc. Make sure that you ship the gifts out by the date. If you are going shopping in person and then wrap them, allow for enough time for that, too.
Keep in mind that as long as you choose their gifts with care, chances are that they are going to love what they get. Whether you are shopping for someone you know or for someone who's a stranger, like through a mailing list or online, put a lot of thought and care into the gifts.
