Best Apps to Remedy Seasonal Affective Disorder
When the cold weather comes around, it negatively affects a lot of people and they flock to warmer places to escape it. Unfortunately, it's not possible this year. So we have some apps that we think might help you if you suffer from SAD.
Around 8 or so years ago, my parents started going to Florida for about five weeks to escape Pennsylvania's cold and snow and head for some warmer weather. But it wasn't just about the cold and snow. My dad's brother and his family live down there, so they would visit them as well. My cousin has cancer, so being able to see her was nice. Unfortunately, last year the person from whom they rented their condo canceled their reservation, and, of course, with the pandemic this year, it's not an option to go down.
Fortunately, if you are like my parents and are yearning to visit people in warmer climates but cannot, a great option for visiting with them virtually is Zoom chat. It allows you to see their faces and talk to them over video.
It's also a good idea to write down your feelings in a journal along with connecting with friends and loved ones through Zoom chat. Sometimes just writing down the way that you are feeling can make you feel better, especially if you feel like no one understands your moods or makes light of them. This is something that many health professionals recommend, and it really can help make a difference.
Finally, find something that makes you happy on your phone or tablet. Maybe you like coloring in adult coloring books. Or maybe you are looking for a new hobby to get into. Movies are another great way to relax and lose yourself for a couple of hours in another world. There are a lot of games and fun apps that you can use to help you lift your spirits.

One of the things that I found helps me out a lot when I am feeling down is coloring. It doesn't matter that I am 48 years old. There's just something so satisfying about coloring for a couple of hours, and this is one of my favorite coloring apps.
