Best Apps for Scheduling To-Do Items in a Calendar

It's not always easy to remember and keep up with all the tasks we have to do every day. However, using an app can make it easier to set up and accomplish daily goals.

    • This app looks as though it was developed exactly to satisfy the requirement I specified in earlier messages here. You enter tasks into a list and then drag them into today's day plan. You can specify the required time by dragging the edges of the task in the day plan. I haven't yet used it. A problem is that the app was developed under an older version of Android and hasn't been updated recently. As of 2020-04-15 I ran it fine on Android 10. I sent email to the developers to see if they are still active.

    • It looks like a great app, Clark. Thanks for recommending it, I look forward to checking it out, and hopefully, the developers get back to you with a newer version.

The surprisingly simple way to organize the family. Shared calendar & lists.

    • When you have a family, whether it's just 2 people in your family or 3., 4, 5, or more, it can be hard to keep track of everything. That's why it's a good idea to have a calendar and a to-do list that everyone can see. This app puts everything in one convenient place.

"The best to-do list" — The Verge. Tasks ✅ Reminders 🛎 Planner 📝

    • Keeping a neatly organized calendar won't help you much if you only have it stored on your computer and cannot access it while on the go. In order to avoid having to redo 79 different entries, you can easily sync everything across all devices with this cloud-based task management tool.

      • I am looking to implement an approach similar to http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kevin-kruse/millionaires-dont-use-to-do-lists_b_7966024.html I currently use Todoist. It does not directly support working from a dayplan/calendar.

      • @Stefan, thank you for your recommendation. But the recommendation says I shouldn't do what it is that my "ask" is about doing. Todoist is a very fine product but can't really be recommended regarding this "ask". Also, my calendars are available on all my devices.

    • I like that Time Planner app lets me to schedule things that don't have to happen on exact time, but can be done anytime during the day. There is a separate section for that, and my timeline schedule is realistic now. I see the dentist appointment at 5:00 pm, and "send a thank-you card" - at "sometime". A cool thing you can set a captcha to turn the reminder off. Got to refresh my Math skills and find it harder to procrastinate )

    • The question I asked was poorly worded. I wanted to try to identify apps that fit the approaches laid out in the following articles. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kevin-kruse/millionaires-dont-use-to-do-lists_b_7966024.html and https://link.medium.com/l314Pj3iW4 . The idea of the question is to identify apps that facilitate moving to-do items into today's calendar in order to schedule when to work on them. Therefore the fact that "that Time Planner app lets me to schedule things that don't have to happen on exact time, but can be done anytime during the day" doesn't fit this approach.

      • Clark, have you found any that you like or works? I'm interested in this topic too.

    • Clark, have you seen the newer digital assistant apps? Maybe that would be more in line with what you are looking for? One that integrates with calendars and other organizational applications?

      • Could you give an example? I don't know of such things.

    • Okay, so maybe the better way to "ask" would have been something like: "Best apps for working today's to-do tasks from a today calendar."

    • "Best apps for treating today's to-do tasks as scheduled chunks of time on today's calendar."

    • "Best apps for turning today's to-do tasks into scheduled chunks of time on today's calendar"

    • Hi Clark, great questions! I found an app called Hound, it's a personal assistant app that seems to be pretty advanced, maybe something like that?
