Oh no! The holidays are almost here and that means a lot of calories. Or does it? We'll show you some apps that you can use to find low-calorie options for your favorite foods this holiday season!
Ahh, the holidays are coming. With the holiday season comes a lot of delicious foods. Unfortunately, this also means that many people tend to overindulge.
A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to lose weight. So, I decided that I was going to do WW. The app was wonderful. Not only does it tell you the point values of different foods (most proteins are 0 or 1 point per ounce depending on which plan you are on) but you can even put recipes into the app and it will tell you how many points a serving is. This means you can find out how many points those delicious cookies are. Or, if you got a box of candy and you don't know how many calories the candy is, there's a scanner right in the app.
Are you ready to try new recipes, including some for drinks? There's plenty of those on there, too. With the program, I lost 60 pounds and I have kept it off because the app taught me how to eat healthily.
Now, what if you don't have the money that you have to pay each month for WW? Or maybe you have tried it before and you weren't happy with it? Well, don't worry because I have another suggestion. Another thing that has really helped me out with finding low calorie and healthy recipes, because I do NOT want to go back to where I was, is my Kindle and the Kindle app that I use on my iPad when my Kindle is charging. There are so many cookbooks on here that are full of recipes for cakes, pies, cookies, and other goodies so that you can find tasty treats for everyone while staying on track. I also recommend using a browser on your phone or tablet to go to the Skinny Taste website. I know this is technically not an app rec, but the recipes on there are delicious! Try the Greek yogurt chocolate chip muffins. Trust me!
Finally, along with watching what you eat and making healthier choices when it comes to food, it's also important to get exercise. Putting an app like a Pedometer on your phone will help you to track your steps and see how many you are taking each day and how many calories you are burning. Having a step counter will also show you how well you are doing and what you need to work on.
