Insight Timer was the first app that caught our eye as a great option for not only people looking for any type of meditation practice but for people with any budget. It has a very extensive free library and has the most options when it comes to choosing what you want to get out of your meditation.

Simple Habit was an app that surprised us. While it isn’t one of the most popular meditation apps, it should be, due to its easy-to-navigate design, multi-day meditation practice courses, and variety of topics for meditation. Simple Habit is here to truly make meditation a habit for you, by putting together meditation courses to help you focus on one area of your life once a day, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

Why we chose Simple Habit:

  • Price: free for one week, then $89.99/year (definitely one of the more expensive ones)
  • Choose from longer-term programs such as “30 Days To Boost Positive Thinking,” or shorter ones like, “Healthy Couples,” which is 7 sessions of 5 minutes each
  • It offers yoga classes for beginners as well as meditation
  • Easy to navigate
  • Option to download for offline with Premium
  • They offer both life coaching and meditation
  • Great app to help you grow as a person through meditation
  • Good for beginners. Not a lot of advanced practices, but they do have a course on deepening your practice.
Simple Habit is a meditation app that truly takes its name into account--it really makes it easy for you to turn meditation into a simple habit! The thing we liked best about this app is that it has a lot of opportunities to actually learn things about yourself, life, and even your partner through meditation, so that you can use this simple task of turning in to yourself as a way of truly growing into the best version of yourself.

While Inscape was a little harder to navigate than Simple Habit and Insight Timer, we found that it was great for meditation practitioners of all levels. Many apps also have music available, but Inscape was the first that we found that had a whole section completely devoted to sound healing and “8D Sound,” making this app unique, and helping to embody the app’s name--it really is an inward escape!

  • Have both beginner and advanced practices, so it’s a good app for anyone
  • 8D sound healing
  • Has the option for unguided meditations
  • Breathwork exercises
  • Lots of mindfulness techniques that weren’t as prominent on other apps

Inscape has an easy-to-follow meditation style for anyone looking to turn inward as a quick escape from the day, as well as mindfulness techniques that weren’t seen in other apps. There are also plenty of options for unguided meditations for any advanced practitioners, sound healing, and breathwork exercises.
