5 Ways Apps Expand Your Horizons With Mexican Recipes

Try Different & New Flavor Combinations

One of the best things about Mexican cuisine is that there really are no rules about what you can put into your tacos or enchiladas. Yes, you probably have your favorite flavor combinations like ground beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. But have you ever thought about creating something new to put in your tortillas or taco shells?

One of the best ways to do this is to go into your refrigerator and see what you have leftover. Have some fried fish leftover from last night's dinner? Fish tacos are an extremely popular choice. Or, who says that tacos have to be just for dinner or lunch? Make some cheesy eggs and throw them in a warmed up flour tortilla with some salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. Delicious.

Experiment with different flavor combinations and don't be afraid to make mistakes. You may just discover the next hot thing in Mexican food.

Expand Your Shopping List with Online Shopping

So, you have checked out a few websites where you can find great Mexican recipes and you find a couple of that look promising. You create your shopping list and it's off to the grocery store. You find many items on your list, but there are one or two elusive items on there that aren't in your grocery store. You're frustrated because those recipes really looked yummy but you don't know where to go and you really don't want to drive to a million different stores.

No worries. Just go home, or even sit in your car and download a couple of grocery store apps. When you have the right shopping app, like the Peapod app from Giant grocery stores or the Walmart app, chances are good you'll be able to find any ingredient you want.

The best part about shopping with apps is you can usually get the items with affordable delivery, so you don't have to drive all over town.

Look for Free eBooks for Low-Cost New Recipes

We've mentioned above how you can find great recipes on websites. But there are a lot of other ways to find new recipes to try, and one of the best ways is through eBooks. Whether you have a Kindle, an iPad or another tablet or eReader, you can find a lot of great low cost and free digital cookbooks through sites like Amazon and B&N.

The best part about eBooks is that you don't need a tablet to buy them or read them. You can just purchase, download and read them on your phone. If you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription, you can even borrow 10 eBooks at once. This gives you plenty of opportunities to find mouthwatering Mexican recipes to tempt any palate.

There are even some websites that you may have frequented that offer a complimentary eBook if you sign up for their newsletter. So, check that out too, especially if you are already a fan of the website.

Invite Your Friends & Family to a Mexican Fiesta

Now that you have all of these amazing recipes that you have tried, why not share them with your friends and family by having a Mexican fiesta? Whether you do it to celebrate Cinco de Mayo or you just decide to have people over, this is a fun way to show off what you have learned.

Find some cute invitations or even invite people using apps. Then figure out what you are going to have. Keep in mind it's a good idea to have a large variety of options, especially if you have people of different ages coming. For the adults, you will probably want to try out some margarita recipes. If you want something to ensure that all of your guests have something they like, you can always have a make your own taco bar. You can offer ground beef or turkey, shredded chicken, tomatoes, cheese, salsa, guacamole, hard and soft tacos, onions, lettuce, and anything else you think your guests will want.

Of course, it wouldn't be a fiesta without having a colorful piñata for everyone to hit. And who's to say it's just for kids? Not us. You could always have one for the adults and another one for the kids because you know just a couple good whacks from Dad and that thing's going to burst open.

Once everyone has finished beating up the piñatas, they'll probably be ready for dessert. Did you know that you can use tacos and make dessert too? People have combined them with fruit, whipped cream, ice cream and more to create the perfect end to a fun fiesta.

We hope that we have gotten your mouth watering and that you're now searching for some new recipes to try the next time "Taco Tuesday" comes along. And remember, there's no wrong time to have tacos. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight snack - a tasty taco is a perfect treat anytime. Use some apps and find a new way to jazz up your next taco meal.
