5 Benefits of Playing Classic Board Game Apps

Last updated:

There are few things more fun than having a night of board games with friends or family around the kitchen or dining room table. But what if no one wants to play, or you don't have your favorite board game with you? That's where apps come in. We're going to look at some of the benefits of playing board game apps, and why they are changing the way we play.

  1. Play Against Friends Online
  2. Less Clutter in the House
  3. You Can Play Them Anywhere
  4. You Can Play Against the Computer
  5. They Can Be Played by Kids & Adults

Let's face it, there are times when you can't get together with friends to play your favorite board games. Whether it's because everyone's busy, or it's just not a good idea to have gatherings due to one reason or another, having an alternative like an app is a great way to play games and have fun.

That's the benefit of board game apps. You can play these games online with people who are far away, or even in the same town as you. This is a great way for you to make friends worldwide on the Internet, and play games with people you know in real life when you can't be together.

With so many apps available for your favorite board games, it's not hard to find one that everyone will enjoy and can play no matter what their age. It's a wonderful way to bring people together even when they are far apart.

Now, if you have children or someone in your home who is a fan of Legos, you know how quickly they can clutter your home. The same goes for a large number of board games. After all, think of games with lots of tiny pieces, money, dice, and other items that can easily get lost or stepped on, or even sucked up in the vacuum cleaner.

The great thing about board game apps is that they aren't going to clutter up your home. You don't need to have a dedicated bookshelf for them, and you don't have to worry about small parts that you may lose or that little children can swallow. Indeed, you know how babies and toddlers put everything in their mouths. If you don't have any small children at home, maybe you have pets, and the same danger applies.

Just picture your home free of all of those board games, except maybe one or two old favorites when you're having a technology-free night. It can be a dream come true, with apps.

Next, let's talk about convenience. Imagine that you are somewhere waiting. Maybe you're at the doctor's office and they are running late. Or perhaps you're at the airport and you have two hours until your plane takes off. Chances are that you have Wi-Fi, or maybe you're lucky enough to have unlimited data. If so, you don't need to have a board game in a box with you to compete with others, as long as you have an app.

Not only that, but chances are you have heard kids say 'I'm bored" while riding in the car. Simply download an app of their favorite board game, and allow them to play with others through data or against their siblings in the car. This is a bonus because unlike physical board games, it's a lot harder for people to cheat, and there may be fewer arguments. Of course, there's no guarantee with that, but one can hope.

Also, when it comes time to go on vacation, there's no need to pack up the car with 10 board games. Simply bring your phones and tablets and play your favorites on them. You can even pass the tablet back and forth to switch players on some games.

Furthermore, kids aren't the only ones who get bored. Adults can, too. We've all been there. We want to play a game, but no one wants to play with us. Either you're in a family who thinks that board games are dumb, or no one is available to play with us. Or, maybe we're just too good, and no one wants to play because they're tired of losing.

The beauty of a board game app is that there is almost always the option to play against the computer. Just imagine - no more begging friends and family members to play with you. No more having to find people online to play against you. All you have to do is choose to play against the computer. One benefit of this is that you often will be challenged. You might even learn some new moves or words, depending on what game you are playing.

Finally, and this is one of the best things about board game apps, they can be played by adults and kids. Although there are a couple of games that are not quite suitable for children due to their questionable content, most of them are kid and family-friendly.

If you are unsure about a certain app, or if you want to find one that is suitable for all ages, you can read the reviews and download it yourself to check it out. You want to make sure it's fun and that your children won't get too frustrated with it, so if it's a game with which you are unfamiliar, take some time to do a test run. You know your children better than anyone else, so although many people have played the games that are on our site, it's always a good idea to check it out for yourself.

As you can see, board game apps provide you with many benefits that physical board games can't give you. They allow you to play anywhere, they don't leave pieces laying around, they let you play on your own, and they give you opponents throughout the world. Not only that, but they usually don't have an age limit, meaning adults and kids can enjoy playing them together. They are a great choice all around.

    • This Game Is Excellent! I Love that you can play with people online! Also the game is so accurate from the broad game! I very much appreciate the time and effort into the details on the broad. The animation of the characters! The mini games you land on are a great add on! You don’t see that on the real broad game! 🤗 This game dose not just get five stars it deserves five stars. This game is very helpful when you stuck at home and bored. 👏👍

    • I love the layout and sound effects of this game. Also glad to have an app version that I can play on my phone. I would love it even more if there was a clue game created with a storyline to go along with each game played. You could put reasons why the murderer killed Mr. Boddy and at what time of day was it done? At dinner time or breakfast, what were the suspects all doing around the time of the murder, etc. I guess it would be more of an adventure game with all the elements of the classic board game.

    • Such a simple and silly game but, for me, it's stayed fun for longer than most apps do. Super cute! It makes me smile and is a good way to relieve stress... It's perfectly satisfying to play for free, but i also don't regret the little bit of money i've spent for more rolls and powerups--Not necessary, but extended the fun and felt good to give the developers a small "Thank you".

    • Great game! Occasionally thing get screwed up and and there is an extra cut card. If I am not careful, I will us it in my card count and, of course, my count is too high. Except for that and a few other very minor bugs, it’s a great game. Suggestion: Give the player a chance to count the opponents hand. There could be an option that the player has to poke at to dismiss the cards after the count. It could be an option that is turned off or on. Bill
