No more Skype or Hangout. Zoom is so much better for video chat. Usually I use zoom from my mac, but in case I cannot be in front of my PC, I can still join the video chat without hustle.

Zoom is perfect for a quick 15-min huddle together with the team. Even if other members are from different countries, video conferencing using this app is always smooth and lag-free. You can even share the screen you are currently working on so that everybody can see it.

When I'm hiring someone new remote, I don't really want to share my email address or number to get in touch with them. Zoom is great for its simplicity. You just share the link and you can start the job interview without giving personal information.

Since the coronavirus hit, my friends and I have been playing games on Zoom. We'll spend anywhere from 2-3 hours on a Sunday night playing games like Cards Against Humanity. The ability to record our meetings and games makes it a lot more fun to play.

If you are on a budget, Zoom has awesome free features that can help any UX team conduct remote testing sessions. With screen sharing, UXRs can observe the participants movements on their product. In addition, with screen recording, the team can go back and review the whole interview for better insight!

In order to strengthen the bonds between your team members - even when you're not together - you will need something to communicate, something anyone can access. Zoom is about as straightforward of a solution as it gets and supports as many as 100 participants.

  • I really recommend it! It’s awesomely amazing! Apr 13, 2021

Zoom is a really great app I really really recommend it especially if you’re doing online school, Zoom is a great way to do online school and has actually been part of my life now that COVID-19 started, It helped me and made me interact with my teacher and classmates! I really really recommend it even has a choice that you can even private chat to the host and other classmates! You can make a Zoom and you’ll automatically be the host! Once people join you can make those people the Co-Host the Co-Host has the same thing as the host, Just that the host has more advantage in the Zoom can end the meeting, change peoples names, chat with people and more things. Zoom may have some technical difficulties from time to time but it’s all right we all have technical difficulties! Zoom works with Internet as well so you need Wi-Fi and Internet to do Zoom. Zoom can also work on any device chrome book, iMac’s, MacBooks,iPads, iPhones, and I think even more! Zoom is wonderful. Zoom is the best app and choice of doing online school it really just helps a lot! You can do loads of things! You can do everything you can try and do reactions, even you can change your name, To you can unmute and mute, you can also turn off the camera if you don’t wanna be seen you can also share your screen to others which helps a lot! Zoom is the #1 choice best for teacher, Schools and students! Thanks for reading!

Please intimate whether sound and camera are on. Whenever I switch between Laptop and Camera, zoom doesn't intimate the same. Please add the feature of such intimation or turn off camera and sound between switches to make sure the participants do not portray their privacy in front of other participants and humiliate themselves.
  • AMAZING APP! But a few recommendations May 1, 2021

    By "........."....."
Zoom is an AMAZING app and right now during the pandemic it helps kids to do school but online! Zoom can also help me see my family when I can’t be there with them. Even if the pandemic that’s going on in the world. I would still use this amazing app. I have some recommendations for this app. I think when the teacher parent tutor etc, is sharing they should have something that can disable kids from writing on the screen. I think it’s kind of annoying that they can do that. The next recommendation I have is there should be a button that can say whether or not there can can be a co-host. I was doing a class and my teacher couldn’t sign a cohost he tapped on the person he wanted to sign cohost but it didn’t have that option. I soon did a zoom with my friends because Snapchat wasn’t working etc. I wanted to make one of my friends cohosts but I also didn’t have that option. Those are some things that I think zoom should fix, but other than that I love this app and recommend it to you! Have good day, thanks for reading!
  • Great app but one thing... May 15, 2021

    By ArtsyAnimalCrafter
I like this app a lot! It is awesome for school or just simply talking to your friends. I love how you can present your screen on it. I have an iPod touch on it and it works well too. You can do this on a chrome book or iPad as well. Once I downloaded this I asked my friends if we could zoom. After a few meets I noticed I couldn’t create a meeting I can only join. This is a not a big problem but you get cool features on your side of the meet if you create the meet and they are really cool. Yeah, I know you can switch the host which I REALLY like but you still don’t get all of the features that you would if you actually created the meet. You can present like I said above but the presenting is a little glitchy. Other than those two things I love this game. I like how you can change your name. Also you can go into drivers mode which means that you hit a button to talk and if you don’t hit the button and talk than people won’t here you. Also it means nobody can see your camera so its great to prank your friends with or just use it like its supposed to be used. If you are a the host you can enable it or disable it. You can also slide the screen to show you certain people. One of the slides is drivers mode! I really like this and I HIGHLY recommend it if you are a student or a teacher or just someone who wants to talk to their friends.
  • Great overall, but ... Apr 3, 2021

    By VoiceOver user.
I would have had difficulty getting through the pandemic without Zoom. Overall, it works great! However, for VoiceOver users such as me, there are now a few glitches. When I first began using Zoom about a year ago, I was able to do such things as enter a screen name, use the Chat feature, and use the Q&A feature, without major difficulty. Now, however, there are some major glitches in this app when using VoiceOver. When typing a screen name, extra letters and other characters sometimes appear, even when Slide to Type is turned off. When one needs to edit the screen name, or any other similar item, the Delete button doesn’t work; and also, one cannot edit this item using text selection, cut, paste, etc. also, it doesn’t telll us where the insertion point is—a crucial bit of information for editing. Finally, if the screen name or other entry is a hopeless mess, there is no “Clear Text” option. It’s a similar situation in Chat and in Q&A. Editing your message is next to impossible, and very frustrating. And, all of this for an _experienced iPhone user who does a lot of typing on the iPhone. It’s even more frustrating for those who are new to typing on an iPhone. Please fix, before some of us get so stressed out that we have heart attacks!
  • Zoom is amazing!!! Jan 10, 2021

    By Disenyfan4life
This app is amazing! I totally recommend it. The part that I really like is that the host has control over many things. I like being able to control who comes in and out through the waiting room. It is also helpful to be able to lock the meeting. Being able to mute and turn off the video of you and others in the meeting is super helpful, especially as a teacher. The chat feature is great for people how do not want to unmute. Also you have a virtual background, you can raise your hand, make a reaction, share your screen and, so much more! But, there are a few downsides to Zoom. One of them is people freeze and glitch, sometimes you can’t see or hear them at all. It may just be the internet but, I find this annoying. Second, when you exit the app and you are are still on the meeting your camera turns off. I find this annoying when you are sharing your screen or accidentally exit Zoom. Lastly when the host shares their screen people can draw or write on it. This is so annoying and distracting. I can not find a way to disable this. Although there are problems, minor ones, I still enjoy Zoom. The problems don’t stop me from recommending zoom. Once those glitches are gone, Zoom will be perfect. I love Zoom!!!

For “everyday” practical purpose, it is fine. But there are few things that I would like to see. One is more “set up” feature like allow me to remove “pin” whatever it is. Also allow me to alert the host the problems quickly without have to look through the list of “participants” just today, I discover the glitch which somehow didn’t switch the view to activate participant screen on time it always delayed until someone else decided to participate the meeting. Maybe it is due to Apple, Inc just upgrade my ipad that cause some glitch. I don’t know for sure. It just happen today, in the past it went fine. Also look like there is mid-level curve-learning. And for some reason, I couldn’t consult the instruction manual to help me to figure how the Zoom app work. Update information: there is something wrong with the app in dealing with “spotlight”. It used to be work great till last week where the appear of spotlight always “late” when the participant finished his or her saying for the zoom meeting. It seems to me it only affect iPad users. Need to be fix this. Right now, I’m stuck with gallery view mode to see the current spotlight to listen

So I’ve been using Zoom for school because of the pandemic, and it’s good compared to other programs yet I do have SOME complaints, none of which having to do with my hate of using it all the time now. It’s great for having the meetings, but it overheats my phone if I use the mobile app way more than other video call apps and programs. I’ve also had to use the Chromebook version because my school provided that, but it’s way more laggier than PC or mobile. Chromebook also has a lot less of the features such as backgrounds and recoding the meeting as a guest and doesn’t feel as professional I think. For the entire program, app, Chromebook, and all, I think it’s great. Covid is keeping me online until, with the rising cases here in the US, most likely March at soonest if my school allows me online that long, it’s amazing. My sibling uses two other programs, one of which I used last spring in 8th grade, and when I compare Zoom to the two he uses Zoom is automatically the best of the three. It’s super professional for most versions of it and I think that for the covid pandemic it’s one of the best options I think.

Was working fine until it wasn't. Kids have been using it straight for the last few weeks during home-schooling while in lockdown than it suddenly comes up can't connect to the server, internet connection is working we use zoom across several devices in the home and not a single is currently working.

It's easy to use though, it's lacking some privacy settings. This application is not fully secured for crucial Meetings. I will prefer this application only while taking sessions which, data privacy is not important.

discord is a significantly better platform, with more free access and better quality. Zoom is designed for the educational systems (teachers handling students) whereas discord is designed so much better for ANY other scenario (conferences, talking with friends, streaming video, etc). and for free.

It consumes a lot of Internet data and Picture quality is also not that satisfying according to the data it consumes. Try to rectify this problem. As a suggestion, give option to choose the video quality (just like YouTube has) so we can save the Internet data.

Don’t bother downloading this app. Just because they send automated meetings, doesn’t mean they could do it again. I contacted them and asked what is going on. And they said “You’re having problems with Zoom.” What a waste of time that was. Not how I want a contraction to look like. Instead of trying to fix the issue and actually reading what the problem was, they immediately blamed it ALL on Google and threw it right back at me. When contacting them the second time, I explained to them, again, what the problem was. Hey, it’s THEIR web site issue, not a Google issue. Very inelegant and decentralised, they try to make the best out of it. I contacted them a third time (which actually was a 3rd email) and they pay for Google’s fault. Not cool. Absolutely decent. Some service you have. Zoom is notoriously cheap and treats its employees. No wonder they treat viewers the same way. They don’t want to fix the problem anyway. And to have a nice day. Their answer to me “same to you!!”. Wow, guys. So don’t even bother downloading this app just because they have attorneys. Lets hope your paying attention Zoom.

I had to use this app for a job interview last week, and it did not work well. I had set everything up in advance, practicing with my iPad, my MacBook and my iPhone, just to be safe. The 20 minute call was supposed to be at 1:10, so I pressed the connect button at 1:09 and got a screen that said “launching”. Three minutes later it still said launching “. So I disconnected and tried again - and get “launching”. Now I’m five minutes late for the 20 minute interview. So I switch to my iPhone which makes the connection instantly, but I only see video for the first few seconds of the call, and the audio is only at the minimum level with no option to make it louder. The black screen kept switching back and forth to one with a green icon of a telephone, still with very minimal sound. So I spent the last 12 minutes of what was supposed to be a 20 minute interview across the country with no video and the need to keep repeating questions back to the search committee because I couldn’t hear them. I may not have gotten this job anyway, but using the Zoom app certainly eliminated any possibility of me being considered for the job.

I was adapting during Quarantine which didn’t hit NW FL UNTIL N States came in spring. I’m in a CAT 5 Hurricane area, new tech everywhere, legal & insurance. Setting up new devices & it’s been a nightmare. I began with church & that was great. Life happened, I came back to it for court appearance for divorce and the updates made it impossible. NO customer support. It’s anxiety horrors. Now I see a fee option. Requested a business email address. Basically my account is lost. I can’t access previous on & can’t create new. Because of this and yes WIFI I was literally on the telephone while my attorney, ex to be, judge & his attorney(s) across the country. This is our lives thrown into Zoom. Not all are in school or business but it’s definitely slowing down my process to get there. I’ve wasted so much time and no help. No support. Sent email. NOT HAPPY- I wish we’d stuck with Skype. Again, also Cat 5 Hurricane and NW FL was NOT a Covid hot spot until very recently. Hope everyone enjoyed their beach vacations after zooming all winter. Now I’m stuck in the house because of it.

It seems like it’s one thing after another with this program. If I could give I zero stars I would. I gave it a shot because a lot of people were recommending Zoom for video conferencing over similar alternative video messaging apps. The sound quality, video quality and overall connection is poor, has a longer lag time than other apps and there’s all sorts of confusion on how to join a meeting. Seems like it should be straight forward but it’s not. Also, when sending a meeting invite to someone, it sends an email from my personal device email address rather than the work email address which I registered with the app. How does that make sense? When I downloaded the app to my phone as a back up, nothing would sync across my devices or accounts so I would have to send new invites to the same people for the same meeting, therefore causing MORE confusion. I am going to encourage the people I'm meeting with to use a different service, and can’t wait to go back to in-person meetings so that I can be rid of this frustrating app.

This app is awesome because I can chat with my friends when ever I want. And you can make someone else host if you don’t want to be host. But the part that I really like is that if you are host you can mute everyone and turn their video off! And you can have a virtual background, you can volunteer to be host, and if the host mutes you, you can unmute yourself. You can also write a message to everyone. And my personal favorite part is that you can see as many people as you want. You can also turn audio on and off when ever you want. But one thing is that sometimes people’s screens freeze or you can’t hear them very well or there voice stutters. Another one of my favorites is that you can change your zoom name. But one thing that confuses me is that the app is called zoom. Why is the app called zoom if the app is for video chatting. Anyways, those two issues certainly don’t stop me from giving this app a 5 ⭐️review. And all because of this app I can chat with my friends every day. So I definitely recommend getting this app!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi there! I was reading the comments and reviews the other day, and I was so surprised by what everyone was saying. I mean to say is ppl rated zoom by only 1 star when it deserves 1 MILLION stars!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVE this app! Creating a waiting room was a brilliant idea and sharing screen is also brilliant!!! Me and my friends use zoom very often during the pandemic, we often lock the meeting so to those who had unwelcoming guest put a waiting room and lock the meeting. I know everyone has different experiences but I believe zoom is what so ever amazing !!!! Keep it up!! One thing I wanna say is I want to be able to request to the host to be unmuted, like when the host mutes everyone and I would like to say something and be unmuted, I would like to simply press a button that is called ‘request unmute’ and on the host’s screen a something pops up that says I wanna be unmuted. Thank you so much for keeping me entertained and busy and excited. Now I’m hooked onto my friends during coronavirus. Thank you so much!!!!! Thank you, Ur #1 fan!!!!

Had an app developer for a different app set up a video call time to ask opinions on a new service coming about one of my medical conditions. I hadn’t even heard of Zoom before, but when FT didn’t work, I quickly downloaded Zoom & it took zero time for us to be able to view each other’s screens, which was more imperative for her, but her being able to share screens with me that were still in development was extremely easy! Once I figured out to unmute her (a default setting, at least in my case), it was so easy to use, I didn’t need a tutorial or anything! It was a last minute, phone hook-up problem that I didn’t take time to read about the app or even see if a tutorial was there (I’m sure there is). So VERY easy to use, point & click & I was able to complete helping them, they being in Singapore & myself in eastern USA! This video chat could possibly be beneficial for millions of people, literally! Thank you, Zoom for making this happen! Would definite recommend this to others!!

Good app. I had good experience with this app. But one bad thing about this app is that we cant keep zoom baground in meeting while we are using mobile. Please do something so we can keep baground in zoom meeting. I gave 5 star because accept this issue the app works good. So please do something that we can keep zoom baground when we are attending meeting from mobile.
  • Our entire district uses Zoom Apr 24, 2021

The mobile app gets 5 stars because it is smooth and easy to use. Sometimes I have to Zoom on my iPad when I teach so that I can free up my laptop. Also, my laptop tends to get a lot slower and sometimes glitchy when I use the desktop app on Windows. But that’s a different conversation. Anyway, I teach in a huge school district that has declared Zoom its official conference platform for remote teaching. This started in March of 2020 when we returned to teaching during the initial Quarantine. I was concerned about security at first, but then the company really upped its game since the whole world turned to remote teaching with not just security measures (due to bad press), but they removed the time limits for educators. It also seems like updates continually happen, and I am pleasantly surprised when I log in and see the spiffy new look and features. The only request I have is to create the ability to use breakout rooms in the mobile app. This is sometimes a necessary feature.

This app is amazing! We use it for school, and it was my Grandma’s Birthday, So that was really cool we could talk to each other during this really hard time. I Have a few suggestions on how to make the app better though, when ever we share screens, my brother tends to draw and scribble all over it, is there a way you can add a “ Disable Drawing” button or something? And also, whenever you exit the app, The zoom meeting is still on, that’s great but you can’t see the person behind the camera, again, my brother takes advantage of this, and mutes himself, and uses the time to play! Could you please make it so, whenever you exit the app, like Disney+, It shows a little box with the video, and you can still see the person. I’m making these suggestion because I don’t want my brother to fail at school, And I’m sure that other people have this problem too, mabye not these exact problems, but mabye similar ones. Thank you in advance, This app is absolutely amazing!

  • Updated: Continually needs deleted/reinstalled on iPad Pro Sep 5, 2020

    By Seattle Day
Updated review Sept. 5, 2020: I have figured out a workaround to my problem. This app does not handle “Sign in with Google” well when a corporate account is being used. The workaround is to remember to SIGN OUT of the app before you close it, then the next time the app is opened you go through the two-step sign in process again. The app always asks for permission to sign in with Google, so I’m thinking this is what the app is not handling correctly? Can’t the app be made to remember the prior authorization(s) when opened? -1 star for this inconvenience. — Two stars because it works as hoped when it works. New 2020 iPad Pro 12.9”, bought for use with teaching this fall and Zoom support. App will only work when first installed from App Store and signed into my district account. When a new Zoom meeting stopped and app closed, later opens to spinning wheel on iPad and will not allow joining a new Zoom meeting, etc. App needs deleted and reinstalled from App Store to open again correctly. Will update review if app fixed or iPadOS starts playing nice.

Loving it so far. No issues no bugs nothing. And I'm really happy that they've added emojis to the chat😚. The only bummer is the fact that this app uses lots of WiFi and data. Sweeps it clean out. But it's useful and 100% recommended.😇😇😇😇

I love how easy it is to use and its been a lifesaver for families and businesses during these difficult COVID days. However, I just used it on my computer this morning and it was fine. After my call, it said there was an update so I downloaded it and then tried to use it again this afternoon for another meeting and it wouldn’t give the sound!! What happened?! Overall, its truly been a great tool for our social distancing and perhaps it will be used more now that people are used to it. It is very easy to use, even for those who are technologically challenged. I ended up using my iPad for the afternoon meeting but had wanted to use my laptop so I could see everyone and on one page. With the iPad, you have to swipe to see whomever you can’t see from the first page of 9, but it is a little disconcerting because you always see 9 people on a page; not 9 on the first page and then the remaining on the next page, which I would prefer. But again, it does work overall for meetings and is very easy to use.
  • Awesome...but, it has some disadvantages... Apr 22, 2020

    By Renata Reindeer
It is a very useful app for online classes and work from home. I use it for virtual school since were all in quarantine and I like the idea that there’s a host and the host can control everyone (it is a very useful thing for the teachers). I also like the virtual backgrounds ,the raising hands and all the little things you can use while your in a meeting. I also use it to make group chats with my friends and its really fun! I really recommend this app...but, there are some disadvantages. Sometimes it lags horribly and no one can understand anything the person who is talking saying. There is also a lot of background noise if the person who is talking has a lot going on at home. I’ve also heard a lot of people say that it steals your personal information and strangers can get into a meeting. It hasn’t happened to me so I can’t prove it right or wrong. I still recommend this app to anyone who would like doing group chats with friends or have meetings about work at home! :D

Please intimate whether sound and camera are on. Whenever I switch between Laptop and Camera, zoom doesn't intimate the same. Please add the feature of such intimation or turn off camera and sound between switches to make sure the participants do not portray their privacy in front of other participants and humiliate themselves.
  • Pretty useful but need to be more controlled by users Dec 6, 2020

  • It is a great app overall but it is glitching badly.. Dec 15, 2020

    By sweetpotatofries11
It is an amazing app that I use with my friends and family. But there is two problems I am going to discuss and/or need fixing. First off, when the other person is sharing their screen, the screen they are sharing is very glitchy and choppy. That could use some fixing. Secondly, I tried to share my screen but it wouldn’t allow me to so I kind of gave up and went on talking. When I ended the call and went on with my business, this notification that said “Live broadcast to zoom has stopped due to: Attempted to start an invalid broadcast session” every where I clicked. If I went on my browser it popped up. If I put in my password to my device it popped up. If I went on anything on the same device that notification popped up on my screen. I’ve tried to delete the app but even though it was deleted it still came up. No matter what I try it still comes up. Searching up for help doesn’t work either. This is a big problem for me because it’s getting really annoying.
  • From a student standpoint Jul 8, 2020

Okay, so I had to get zoom because the device I was using died. But overall it’s fine, but for the mobile devices when our teacher shares the screen, we can draw on it and not on the computers! Also it’s glitchy, and the fact is that I have to use it for a while now. I’ve been seeing ppl but one star cuz they want this app to be deleted, but I think it’s good for non school purposes like contacting your friends who have a different phone than u ( ex. Apple and Samsung) can FaceTime. But pls take away the draw button on the mobile version Update: so I had a meeting and when the teacher unmuted us I was muted and a few others and on her screen we weren’t muted! But try harder but still good app Edit: so a recommendation is that the host (if they have chat on) can decide of which ppl can use the chat. (I’m just using random names here) like Tobias can use the chat while Patty can’t use it. (Again no disrespect to anyone reading this named patty or Tobias) cuz this one kid kept spamming me and I wished that he wouldn’t be able to use the chat..
  • Gallery too laggy to use on an old iPad Dec 31, 2020

By Do you really need my name?
It’s a very useful app in this age of COVID. However, with the last update that let you view 16 people at once in gallery view on iPad, my old iPad gets super laggy. My iPad mini is over 6 years old, so it is slowing down. But I’m sure I’m not the only one. I’ve tried to find settings I can change to change it back to view less (like the options on computers to limit the number of videos shown at once), but I can’t find any such setting. I like the concept, it just isn’t practical for older iPads. The app: videos, including my own, and controls lag so much. Even audio is choppy. And when I go to swipe to other pages, it takes a few seconds, and all the videos black out a couple times before it switches. It makes gallery view useless on my iPad. I would much rather use my computer, but I don’t have a camera or microphone there. So if I want to participate, I have to be here, and only on speaker view. And I don’t feel as much a part of the meeting as when I can see more than one at a time

I am a paid, licensed Zoom user and get on Zoom daily. It has been very helpful in staying connected through Zoom meetings. This morning, however, when I tried to join a meeting, my attendees couldn’t hear me. After several attempts to solve the problem, I got a message from the coordinator who helps us with problems. He explained that all groups were having problems, and he had found out about the upgrade. I searched on Zoom on my laptop and happened to find the upgrade link in Support. My laptop should now work, although all of our attendees have left the meeting. Hopefully tomorrow I can test the upgrade. Now I have been trying to find the same download link on my iPhone Zoom app, but there is no Support button that I can find anywhere. When I was in Support on my laptop, I read that this upgrade needs to be complete by May 30. I hope that I can find the upgrade for phones so that I can help my attendees to complete this upgrade, which I think they may also need to do.
  • Secret button on Zoom for all calls and loss of microphone Jun 14, 2021

    By CP23456789
Also Microphone will not work on my iPhone 12. I have tried everything - changing settings, offloading and re-downloading and nothing will work. When I first used the app it was fine - then after the update no microphone. The zoom app has a button which is by default turned on. This button has ALL CALLS to go through THEM - and at the same time showing up in your regular call log and does not identify that you were using ZOOM and not your carriers messages or IMessages. I feel this is a deceptive practice and users don’t always go deep into settings - especially older adults- please notify all Zoom users on the front page of the app that they have the ability to turn on or off this feature. A friend of mine had a different ring tone pop up and it was Zoom - and she didn’t know she was using Zoom as her messaging and calling app when not specifically opening the app for use. That’s why I gave it 3 stars - the other aspects of the App are excellent.

There’s nothing really that bad about the app, but as a whole it’s not a great experience either. It takes too many clicks to get to the chat, and half the time once I’m there I’m replying to just one person instead of the group for some reason. Also, the disappearing buttons that slide off screen after a couple seconds give me so much anxiety… I’m typically listening intently to the meeting waiting to unmute to say something and do not want to have to fumble for the unmute button, I’d rather it just be there. Jitsi is much better for this and the first time I used it over zoom I realized what a relief it was to simply have the unmute button not sliding off screen every chance it got. And don’t even get me started on the desktop app. It’s a kludgy disaster that’s barely usable from a ux perspective. I’m often appalled at how poor the desktop app experience still is even after all these years. I like that Zoom is encrypted but beyond that there’s much room for improvement.

I’ve been using Zoom almost daily since March of last year. It was working fabulous until recently. I use it on my iPad including my upgraded iPad. My mother in-law in our home uses hers at the same time in a different room and she too is experiencing similar issues: (1) my photo background dropped reflecting my true background; on MY iPad it shows it’s up....but to others it reflects my actual background! NOT GOOD. (2) When I’m called upon to speak...sometimes others can hear, or it comes out garbled, or they cannot hear me at all (3) sometimes while on gallery, it first appears and can see and hear everyone then the entire gallery blacks out as if they are all off video yet can still hear them talk, left with only my video. Then this past weekend, had everybody’s gallery without sound. We’ve been using this wonderful app all year and all these problems began happening within the last week or two. Now using zoom phone lines to call in.
  • Okay, but not as good for iPad. Jul 17, 2020

    By Crazy_Gamer_Girl
This video meeting app works well enough. The virtual backgrounds are nice, and the microphones and videos usually work the way they’re supposed to. On an iPad, though, you have fewer options then on a computer. The main accessories that Zoom does not allow on an iPad are remote control, (you can move the mouse that appears on-screen, but you can’t do anything else, not click, not select, nothing), whiteboard, (it shows up and you get colors, but not nearly as many as you get on a computer. I would love it if you added a color wheel), and breakout rooms (You can go into them but they don’t show up in the menu). I always use my iPad for Zoom meetings, but I feel I am not getting the full expirence. Also, when you do Zoom online, you can have moving virtual backgrounds, but those don’t exist on the app. If you could change all this, this rating would go up to five stars faster then you can say “Zoom”. But for now, you get two.
  • No way for complete privacy! May 7, 2020

    By leary one
Zoom has the option to be able to join a meeting with out having to give access to your camera on your IPhone, and supposedly w/o giving access to your microphone but what happens is that a message in a box will appear covering up your whole view of anyone speaking and will not allow you to access any features, incurring leaving the meeting, unless you give it access to your microphone! The message states: Unable to access microphone-Allow Zoom to access your microphone from device menu: “ Settings”- “ Privacy”- “Microphone”. OK So beware. For an app that wants us to stay connected and at least see faces and hear speakers but not want to be heard or seen for whatever reason that day, you will only be able to hear because of that annoying box. I refuse to give this app that much control of my phone. I will just call using a landline then until they get rid of this annoying message and violation of my privacy.

I use Zoom for many things now days because of the COVID-19 pandemic. I think zoom is a great way to connect and meet people. I do have a few complaints about Zoom. 1. Zoom glitches a lot, my coach has an account but zoom thinks he has a free account and kicks everyone out at 40 minutes. We pay for an account and we can’t even use it. 2. Zoom doesn’t work for backgrounds and face filters. It says it works, but for me, it doesn’t. I can be in this bad place and I don’t want to show my background. My piers have the same problem. 3. The free account is set up to your name of your device. The annoying thing is, my dad set up my IPad I use for Zoom and named it after a hop used to make beer. Now everyone thinks my last name is that hop so I don’t get allowed into the meeting. 4. It takes up so much space on my computer that it will freeze the screen for 20 minutes at a time, and during that time, I miss important stuff I need to hear about.

Ok so everybody now in 2020 probably has heard of zoom and my school actually uses Microsoft teams and personally I don’t think it’s very cool that EVERYBODY uses it because it causes TONS of glitches one time my friend was calling her friend and when she was calling the whole house FLIPPED on the camera so please can you try to fix mainly the glitches and bugs it would mean a lot and I also suggest making zoom SAFER one time in school we did this big meeting where the whole schools was in the meeting and someone HACKED THE MEETING! They started saying inappropriate things and showing inappropriate pictures of things of course the teachers shut down the meeting IMMEDIATELY so EVREYONE could be safe so I would be safe I really wish zoom was safer. Also my dad also uses Microsoft teams for his work because his work doesn’t let them use zoom because people could steal informational things they are talking about so please try to fix this IMMEDIATELY!

This is so bad. The user interface is terrible and everything is dumbed down for babies. It is stupid that everyone has to use this for work and school. Oh, and when it says hd video, they mean if you and everyone you know has the best possible internet, otherwise it is garbage video quality. Hey developers, I know you don’t care about your users and only about the money you’re making, so you won’t read this, but would you mind just getting rid of zoom completely so that no one has to suffer through this crap anymore. Seriously, if you are a boss or teacher or want to make a video at all, just use something better than this flaming pile of goat vomit. And don’t even get me started on the pc app. It has even worse performance than the mobile app, and I have a top notch pc. The pc app is completely broken and every week or so it just snaps and I can’t do anything with it. Oh, and to Eric Yuan, the CEO of zoom, screw you, you made 18 billion dollars off of a garbage crappy horrible insurmountably bad video call train wreck.
  • Meeting on zoom with unwelcome strangers Mar 28, 2020

I just had a meeting on zoom with a group of close friends. This was a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. These meetings help keep us sober. I started the meeting sitting by my 4 year old daughter. Unwelcome guests started entering the meeting and yelling prolific things at me and all of my friends while I was right by my daughter. The leader of the group tried to mute everyone but strangers kept joining and screaming foul things in the background. They started making porn references, screaming and cussing and insulting all of us. We had no choice but to end the meeting quickly because we couldn’t stop the unwelcome guests from entering. These meetings are our refuge and our hope to bring the message to the newcomer and help those who suffer with addiction. If there is a way to make sure this doesn’t happen again in the future that would be great to hear about. This is a first and I just hope it doesn’t happen to anyone/any children in the future. If you have any advice I would be happy to hear it. Thank you and take care.
  • I don’t know how i feel about the compatibility with iPad Sep 23, 2020

Zoom is not as great on iPad as it should be, especially on iPad Pro. Honestly im kind of disappointed; the UI is just expanded from iPhone. You cannot view the gallery and you cannot use the app in slide over view with video on not good for devices using Apple Pencil. I don’t understand why that would not be possible but if the app is open in either way, then it should be able to have that capability especially on professional models. I really want Picture in Picture to be implemented for iPadOS as well like FaceTime and other apps that use the same developer kits. So many things are missing that keeps it from being as capable as it can be. I really hope changes regarding this are in the pipeline or i don’t think i will use this app on my iOS and iPadOS devices anymore. Please take this into consideration as this would be a much desired feature among my colleagues, coworkers and professors to increase the accessibility and push the limits of apple’s powerful devices.
  • I have been locked out since I first registered Feb 11, 2021

I downloaded an individual Zoom to an IPhone 8 for connection for a meeting. I signed up, but could never sign in. Now I am locked. There is no number to call unless you have a version you bought. Instead they have the ubiquitous computer IT in chat. I don’t even know why companies waste money on these things. They are just a waste of time. I deleted the app and then cleared my phone of all website data. When I downloaded the app, it remembered and said I was already registered. That should not happen. I looked at the cookie policy and they collect and forward data, not just related to Zoom, but websites visited and all sorts of of other personal data. They sell this info, so they can afford to give away Zoom for free. So, I cannot sign on and there is no one available at Zoom to help me do that. So now I am stuck with a worthless app that is mining my personal data for gold. I sometimes wonder if these things monitor your keystrokes to pickup your passwords.
