Experience has been mostly positive; however, in some ways it has been a step backwards, as a replacement to Google Play Music. The biggest annoyance has been the loss of direct integration with Sonos speakers, and the inability to stream directly to these devices which was possible with Google Play. The addition of podcast support would also be a welcome feature.

I give this four stars because it’s an amazing app, and I’ve been using it on my Lenovo / Google Home smart clock to fall asleep. As well as I like it, there are a few things that I would like to be added. For one, when I ask it to play a certain person or music company that I like, for example Waterflame, or Danimal Cannon, I want it to just play those songs. I’m tired of skipping songs to the point where I can’t even skip anything without a membership. Second of all, stop flooding your ads with membership advertisements! It’s annoying to me because imagine hearing after every single song: “Buy our membership!” And I would also like the option to not play certain songs, because after a while it plays lo-fi music or old school hip-hop, but I don’t want that to happen. Again, this is a great app, but these things are something that could be considered in the future. I look forward to using this more.

I like the app whenever I want to look for a song the app always gives the best option that matches. The only thing I would said that it needs to improve it would be when you go to see your history because for a example: you want to listen a song that you didn't save an in a playlist and you search it in there and you can't find it. It only let you see from 2 months past no more than that.

In all honesty I switched over to this app with a really open mind because I figured it would work about the same as Google play music. But I've been disappointed in certain functions. I mostly listen to my music while I'm driving so the download-only feature is really important. On Google, you could toggle your downloads on and off and then sort by artist if you wanted. I've noticed on this app that if you want to listen to downloads you can either choose one individual album or you can shuffle all of your songs. This is frustrating to me. The other thing I'm not thrilled about is the really bad lag when I skip a song or two. And this is still if I'm only listening to my downloaded music so there is no reason for the app to act like it's buffering or whatever the problem is here?? I really wanted to like this app. I did. But it's got some pretty major issues and they had a long time to sort this out before making everyone switch over.

Ok, so this app is great if you just wanna listen to music, which I like to do. So I opened the app, and it asked my if I wanted to start my free trial. I said no, because I wanted to save it. Then I exited the app because I didn’t want to use it yet. So that happened yesterday, and when I went on the app today, it said my free trial was ending soon. I checked if I had Premium, and apparently I did. Why did it give me Premium? I didn’t want to use the free trial yet. When I had YT Music on my old iPad, it let me choose when I wanted to use the free trail. And the “Try Premium today” thing doesn’t have a exit button. The only thing you can do is press the button, or exit the app. Apparently both result in YT Premium now, so either it’s a glitch, or on purpose. Anyway, beside this wall of one complaint, the app is pretty good. I like how you can shuffle the playlist and it recommends you more songs. Well, have a good day.

WHYY, why is the real question. Google Play Music was so much better. I'll get used to it but I still liked the very very minimalistic design of Google play music. It was so much easier to find songs and brought up albums when you searched up songs. When you opened Google play music the first thing you saw was where you left off. For me it always just showed my playlists when I opened the app. Now I got to go through a maze just to get into my playlist. -update a year later, got used to it

Hands down, the most music of any service. If it's a song that was recorded by humans it's probably in here. And will at some point come across your station. End of the day that's what matters most to me for a music service. Exposure to content. That said, the app is missing a few minor convenience features present in other similar services. My biggest peeve, no Windows PC music only mode. I listen to music a lot at work and would prefer not to eat bandwidth for videos I'm not watching. While in power the app has no option to keep the screen on meaning I have to unlock my phone to thumb a song down while driving. And the most minor, no way to thumb down a song that's not currently playing, gotta stop playing the current track, start playing the other one, then thumb it down. Also, why no access to comments?

Really buggy when it comes to handling downloaded playlists. Google Play Music, handled offline playlists extremely well. I've had several issues since migration to YT music. Downloads never complete, or get stuck on a random song, or mysteriously disappear and no longer play properly offline.

Simple and easy. Plays all my music and if in feeling adventurous can select a channel I did not subscribed to, but could be my next thing to watch over and over. The only draw back is the ability to keep you shuffled music the way you like but if you add a new track you have to go to the folder add it in as a new song and then you go back to you shuffled songs only to find them lined up by alphabet not how you left it. Other then that everything else works great.r

it could be better the “my mixtape” is just music that i went out of my way to find it music i have in my likes or downloads rarely is there new music in there that i haven't heard, along with that if my mixtape is supposed to be songs that i like and etc then don’t play different music at different times, in the morning it plays different music than in the afternoon and night which is okay but i like to hear everything and my morning music is the same as my night time and my afternoon music. Along with the play more music for me, if the new discover playlist or whatever it’s called is supposed to help me find new music it would be nice to make it more accurate I've never liked a song that played in that playlist and it’s not even the type of music i listen to and i’ll listen to anything. also it needs to be updated all the time not every Wednesday.

Ok found a way to use GPM! You will want to disable it from your phone and clean out the apps data. Next you enable it again and open the app. It will show a screen that says its not longer available but there will be a button they tried to hide in the bottom left corner that says "got it". Click that and you will get to the GPM home page. Happy listening!
  • So bad Dec 21, 2020

This is by far the worst app for listening to music that I have ever used. (And I have the paid subscription.) It takes a gazillion clicks to find my recent or commonly used playlists. I don’t get on the app to use mixes some rando made, I get on to listen to MY LISTS and to find new releases. Why do I have to click like five times to reach my playlists???? And even then it doesn’t show me the ones I’ve lost recently played, only the ones I’ve recently edited! The playlists are not sorted alphabetically. If I want to remove songs from a queue or move them to another playlist, it’s impossible to select more than one song at once—I HATE THIS ESPECIALLY. Such a basic and inexcusable oversight they’ve had months to fix. And if I’m already listening to a list I’ve downloaded and then I leave WiFi, it complains to me that it has no connection and needs to go to downloads, and makes me click through multiple times just to find again and shuffle the list I’m already listening to. Just awful. Also google play used to show me how many times I’ve listened to each song, and that’s what I looked at to find my favorite songs of the year. I don’t want a 2020 list they make for me, I want to make my own list! Why can’t they provide this basic thing that was already offered on google play? The web app is equally frustrating. I can’t believe we actually pay them to provide this abysmal level of service.

Somehow this app keeps getting worse. It doesn't download songs when I click download, but the notification will stay forever. If something is downloading I can't stop it. It's also impossible to search your downloaded songs when you have no reception. It's so frustrating that some of the most basic things you would think possible are actually impossible. Probably gonna change music services soon after years of being a subscriber. Disappointed bc this had so much potential and it's been fumbled.

I don’t even know where to start with just how buggy and unusable this app and YT Music is overall. It’s not a step down from Google Play - it’s ten steps down. GP worked flawlessly, you could edit metadata (like artwork), stream through your Sonos for FREE and it has/had a simple User interface. YTM has none of that and it’s simply inexcusable. All they had to do was rebrand GPM and call it a day. Instead, we get an app that is so frustrating to use. Plug it in CarPlay and you don’t get a “most recent” screen like every, single other music app gives you. You have to manually navigate to what you want. If you want to start up where you left off before, you have to use the app on the phone and make at least 3 clicks to get to your recent album/songs. It also doesn’t remember your playback settings. If you click on “repeat” for an album, it will usually stop by the second play. If you don’t have repeat on and you’re at the last song of an album, hitting the |> button won’t take you back to the first track. Again, that is just BASIC functionality. If you want to stream your library through your Sonia system? Well, with GP it was free. Now? You have to pay for the 9.99/mo upgrade fee for YTM “Premium.” No thanks, Google. You don’t take away a free service and give us an inferior one as a replacement and have the gall to charge people for it.

Garbage. Maybe ok for kids that just listen to fluff. However if you are a listener/lover of real music, you will find that a lot of the real, good music, is unavailable. Plus, if for some reason you post a tune anywhere on social media, the link brings you to the song, along with a mess of random music added to it, and ads. Was paying for family plan for a while, but will reduce it to single plan, then move on to a better music provider once I get my music sorted.

Unfortunately the dev team and the customer service just don't care about users and don't take into account any suggestions regarding simple functions that are implemented in other music platforms. 1. Can't search for a songs within your playlists. Good luck with that. 2. Can't re-order songs within your playlist. With no search option it's impossible to find your song. 3. Can't search for one of your playlist within all your playlists. 4. Adding a song to your playlists is a real pain because the list isn't in alphabetical order and there is no search function. 5. No duplicate warning, so you can add twice the same song to your playlists without knowing. 6. "Tell us which artists you like" banner never goes away, even after chosen the Artists. And it takes ⅓ of your screen, totally useless. On this matter you cannot add/propose an artist, your are stucked with the list provided. You can't set either choose music type/style. 7. "My Mix" proposed by YTM are not renewed every week. So you get the same list for weeks. They are even given you a false sens of renewal but re-ordering the songs, seriously guys??!! 8. YTM within Sonos application is pathetic, totally useless. /... And the list goes on.
  • Basic features are a failure Oct 1, 2020

I truly don't understand how this app is rated so well. It fails in the most basic of ways, making using it a continually frustrating experience. When viewing Library by Artist, instead of showing the Albums by that artist like every music app ever, including Google Play Music, it just lists all the songs by that artist. "YT Music" and "Uploads" are separated when. Looking at your library, so you have to look in two different places to see all the content from a single artist. Loop preference does not persist between queues, so when you start a new album or playlist, if you want it to loop, you have to select that EACH TIME. You can view Downloads just fine if you have service, but if you're in a low service area, the app will just sit at a loading screen forever, blocking access to everything, unless you turn on airplane mode. It's a mess. The only marginal improvement on Google Play Music has been consistent album art when in offline mode (it'd just disappear in GPM for some reason). This app needs SO MUCH WORK and seems to have been designed by a team that has never worked on this type of app before, or simply doesn't get UX at all. Being forced to replace GPM with this is incredibly frustrating.

The interface sucks. It's hard to find specific music. Instead everything is lumped into premade playlists. It's impossible to remove songs from those playlists. I've tried to remove non English songs from my top charts but it's impossible. It seems that when you dislike a certain type of music (like Punjabi or non English) it doesn't matter. It still recommend it. Google Play music was far superior.

I just want to listen to my library of music and this app was most certainly designed to make that a difficult task. Even when I click a shortcut for music I own, YouTube music pulls up commercials. If you want to listen to your music commercial free it requires multiple extra steps--which can be dangerous if you're driving. I'm seriously considering an IPhone for my next phone for a better solution to listen to music I own.
  • Poor substitute Mar 13, 2021

    By NathanFilz
The company offered free music storage to its users, in exchange users agreed to allow Google to use the music they uploaded to build their music library. Google took note of similar artists a user might listen to and built their recommendation engine off of that data. They acquired competitors solely to put them out of business and eliminate the competition. They stifled innovation at every turn, and users kept quiet because they still felt the relationship was mutually beneficial. But as soon as Google had milked as much date from the users libraries as they could, they eliminated the service, and in its place coughed up this garbage that in no way is an equal substitute for what they killed. Now if you want to listen to your music that you spent years cultivating and curating, you either need to pay up $150 a year, or listen to an advertisement after every single song, with no ability to cache music for offline play. Are you an advertising business ? A music streaming company? A phone manufacturer? You can’t be all of the above and still prioritize the best interest of the customer.

This is a great app, has the absolute biggest library(YouTube), option for video and all of this is just the early access version! Very excited to see what the future updates bring with them. Few complaints are: Remove the swipe to delete from playlists, or make it harder to trigger, like requiring a double swipe. This was an issue in GPM, still an issue here. Also add shuffle and repeat buttons on the play screen and the ability to add whole albums to playlists. Other than that, keep up the good work and keep expanding the official library, as it’s missing big albums like Stoney by post Malone and 4 your eyes only by J Cole and so on.

Been using YT Music for about a month now and I’m pleased 100% so far! The My Mixtape section is great; I’ve had it play several songs that I love but hadn’t listened to in a while (oh the nostalgia). There are only a few glitches like how the app responds sometimes but not anything irritating to me in the least (some slow response times that last half a second). I know they are still working some bugs and kinks out, but I’ve yet to have the app crash on me since I’ve been using it. It’s my #1 go-to when listening to music on my phone whether I’m at home or driving. Can’t wait to see what new additions we get in the future!

It’s a no brainer that if your seeking music from any artist, any song, or any video you can find it here in one place. I pay for the service and am never interrupted with ads, so unlimited access to everything that has to do with music. I even get the added bonus of things like information on an artist and when an album or song came out. I get to find the lyrics to my favorite songs and bio info on my favorite artist. It also never fails to suggest the best songs that are similar to what I like when playing my music. Hands down the best platform out now!
  • Amazing App, Possible Offline Improvements Dec 31, 2020

    By Afvaryn
The great: You can listen to music with the screen off You can choose your favorite songs And amazing streaming quality. My favorite music app. Possible improvements: 1) there are offline playlists, which you can navigate to easily when you have internet access, but if you have no internet, the app will spend 10-20 seconds trying to connect to the internet before letting you navigate through the menu. If the app would let you navigate to the offline or downloaded playlists before or while trying to connect, the offline experience would be much better. 2) when internet signal is lost, the music stops. While streaming a playlists that has been downloaded, it would be great if the app would switch to the downloaded songs instead of stopping and needing to be manually selected, or if a downloaded or offline playlists could be set to begin playing until the internet connection is restored.

You want baby making music or old school rock ballads then you’re all set for hours with a playlist made, Or make your own! I have tons of playlists already. Plus you subscribed to the artist. ONLY thing I don’t like is the price. But it’s really not a lot when you think about how much time you save and being able to take with you on your cell with unlimited space!!

Just started using this because google play recommend i transfer my library. After discovering that google plans on shutting down google play music I made the switch. I am so pleased by this switch. The layout is so much more organized and easy to navigate. I am getting better recommendations and the addition of viewing music videos is awesome. I’m excited to keep using it. One thing I’d love for them to add/ improve on is their music sharing options. Adding the ability to add songs to your Instagram story or other social media would be sweet.

This app has improved vastly since its introduction a few years ago, and is now one of the top music streaming platforms in my opinion. First, Google’s algorithms deliver the best mix of what I like along with new suggestions. Secondly, I appreciate the ability to seamlessly switch between music and videos in the app. Lastly, the offline mixtape is an extremely useful feature. Always having 100 fresh songs in my back pocket for those no service areas is a lifesaver. The app is still a bit clunky (especially the library) but I like it a lot.

  • One “tiny” complaint Sep 24, 2020

    By •Kit Katt•

  • So much buffering May 18, 2019

    By Littlezeekers
I mostly listen to music while I’m working in the morning, I like to use the app because it does help discover music I would potentially like. My main issue with the app is every time I take out an AirPod to interact with another person it pauses my music and almost never picks back up. It try’s to buffer back where I was but I usually have to start the song over or just skip it. It’s rather annoying especially when it’s a podcast or a longer music playlist. Just seems like a big flaw that it can’t pick up where I left off, especially when I usually put my AirPod back in within a minute or two of taking it out. The only other issue is it plays a lot of repeat songs, mostly they’re songs that I’ve liked but I don’t discover new music by listening to the same stuff..

Good app. I’m trying two switch from Google Play music but I’ve had to use a third-party method to switch over from it. You need to add your own way to transfer, likes songs, and more data about the user. Another problem is that you do not have every song available on there that you did on G p.m. This is making it very difficult for people who have bought song is that they cannot move over to or other reasons. I do like the app because of its learning algorithms for my type of music. another thing you need to think about is Apple Watch app support. Many people of Apple watches and make this service a real service it would need to have an app for me to listen to my music downloaded on the watch. This would be appreciated as well.
  • Love it.. except Feb 9, 2021

    By Christian369
Love everything about this app... except I’ve not been able to create a “new play list”, since I’ve had this account. Ever time I try, it says, “there was a problem with the server [400]“. I’ve updated regularly, and have asked You Tube for a resolution more than once. NO ONE EVERY REPLIES !! I’d also like to be able to go back to the exact “app generated” playlist that I’ve been listening to for the past few days, after trying a different lineup. If I search for something new or tap on another song outside of the present list that I’ve been listening to. I can never return to the exact same lineup. Even if I go to “history”. The app always generates a different lineup of songs that’s compromised of some of the songs I’ve been listening to, but not the exact list.

This is a good app yes but I would love if I could just listen to music in the background of playing games or reading, I don’t mind ads but if people should download this app it’s probably because they want to listen to any of there favorite songs on here while doing something they shouldn’t have to get a preview or buy a membership just to listen to music in the background they should automatically have it as soon as they get it. I understand if you use the money to help the app but maybe change the listen to music in the background to no unlimited skips but like I said in the beginning it’s a good app it really is I like that I could listen to songs I can’t play on other apps but yeah great app just that’s what I feel like should change. :)
  • Good app but bugs with last updates Apr 11, 2019

    By nopicnic
Hands down, this app has the most music. Nice to be able to listen to lesser known artists, covers, live performances, etc. Editing and sharing playlists on the app is really easy. One peeve of mine is that it has an option to download songs, but if you are out and have no cell service - you can’t open “library” to access “downloads” without needing internet - they should have an icon for “downloads” separate from “library” that opens right away without internet. Since the last update - it’s hit/miss with the app staying on. Before, you could lock your phone and the music would still play. Now it feels like you have to remember to trigger/wake the app to keep it on.
  • Missing Google play music Sep 22, 2020

    By westopher718

Really buggy when it comes to handling downloaded playlists. Google Play Music, handled offline playlists extremely well. I've had several issues since migration to YT music. Downloads never complete, or get stuck on a random song, or mysteriously disappear and no longer play properly offline.

    By Kenzie2004
it could be better the “my mixtape” is just music that i went out of my way to find it music i have in my likes or downloads rarely is there new music in there that i haven't heard, along with that if my mixtape is supposed to be songs that i like and etc then don’t play different music at different times, in the morning it plays different music than in the afternoon and night which is okay but i like to hear everything and my morning music is the same as my night time and my afternoon music.
  • Why Did You Remove The Feature That Allowed Us To Find Remixes From The “More” Button? Jun 2, 2018

    By IStoppingPowerI
(Updated On Exp) Starting to love this new look actually. I can see the songs I enjoy replaying come up well at the top section. What was great before was tapping a track that I’ll enjoy, and wondering - what would some remixes/covered/related tracks sound like. The older “more” button or what the current “i”/“Information” button had previously done this. It was awesome! I was hooked. I could find so many great songs from other artists/DJs and so on by finding a great hit, then tapping those buttons. Now those features aren’t to be found. I don’t feel confident paying because I can get the same great hits/music from streaming services that I’ve never tried before. I was a student for all the time I’ve used it (1.5 years) as well - so I really do love the app! It’s harsh pressing the info button and seeing nothing.

My purchased music has been transferred from Google Play Music .... I finally CAN cast it again. Thank you. So i upgraded my rating of this APP to three stars. However ... Do you guys at Google actually USE your own APPs ? Reason I say that is ... Spotify APP on Android is now better at casting (more reliable) than YOU are. I suspect (and have read) that you Google devs all use Apple products anyway !

Using this app since it’s replacing google play. I don’t like that it takes forever to connect to my Bluetooth it seems to always have a lag and the music buffers in the beginning too. I never experienced this with google play. Maybe the music videos are still loading in the background even though it’s on “music only” mode. I also really dislike that my music never picks up where it left off when I’m done. I have to manually go and search for my song every time I restart my car or anytime I come back to the app really. I’ve tried not closing the app on my home screen but it didn’t male a difference. Sometimes my playlists can get long and searching for a song toward the middle is annoying. I do like that I can find any song that’s on YT on here though, sometimes google play would not offer songs YT music has offered.
  • Meh Aug 13, 2020

    By furhdab
I love the amount of music available! I came from google play music so this was great! My quips though and I hope these are changes that come along: my library doesn’t give me the ability to choose a letter and then get taken to that area, I literally have to scroll to let’s say the H’s... which wouldn’t be bad if I didn’t have over 3000 songs in my library. You can’t change the song when your phone is locked, you have to go into the app to do that and pause it. Also when you go to an artist’s page and click a song by them, it doesn’t just play their next top song it goes to a different artist that is similar and starts playing a song by them. And every time I remove a song from my que, the app forces you back to the top of the list and then you have to scroll back down to where you were.
  • Good Google Play music transfer, other things to improve Jul 14, 2020

    By WITH LOVE...
I’m super happy they finally allowed the transfer of our Google Play music playlists, but using this as my main music app is going to need a few improvements if I’m being honest. First, the app can be glitchy when loading info the current song playing, and sometimes I have to close the app fully to get it to work. Secondly, if you are going to have a feature of having lyrics built into the app, please update it to where you know any song made within the last 30-40 years at the minimum will load no matter the genre or artist, no matter how popular or not the song is (in it’s current state it feels like a beta rather than a fully released music app.) I enjoy it overall but am looking forward to improvements moving forward.
  • Okay but missing some key features. Mar 3, 2021

    By Manfredo94
I really like the app but there are two things that I truly miss from the Google Play App. Number one being the option of scrolling through the alphabet on the right side in order to find a song in my library faster. I used this scrolling feature so much it was easy to scroll through songs. Also, whenever I do scroll through my library, it would lag and take a while to load my library. It’s understandable since I have a big library, but Google Play didn’t give me that issue. Another thing I really miss is the sleep option. I would love to listen to music to fall asleep to, but I don’t have the option to have the app automatically stop like Google Play did. Fixing these issues would make me give the app a 5 star.
  • I’m disappointed Apr 9, 2021

    By Tiny-Dez
I’m very disappointed because this was going to be my favorite music app. I was going to delete all of my other ones but something happened (I guess it upgraded on its own or something) and deleted all of my downloads and said that if I want to download in music I have to have a premium subscription. I will go to listen to my music and then I want to listen to it while my phones not completely onward just like a black screen or ask out of that app and go to a different app I’m still listening music but it won’t let me anymore. It was great up until the part where I can no longer listen to anything unless I’m on the app. This app is great if you want to listen to it for a couple of weeks and then have to pay for it but other than that I would not recommend!

    By CurtisL

It's improved from updates for sure, but this is still a terrible downgrade from Google Play Music. Uploads are still split from other music you don't own, so it's impossible to shuffle together, even same artists/albums. Also the shuffling algorithm is atrocious. It shuffles a few songs from one album, then a few from another and so on, even on a playlist with thousands of songs. The only pros are a vast selection of music, and relevant recommendations compared to Apple Music.
  • Very frustrating app if you're coming from google play Dec 29, 2020

    By julzzzzzzjo
They don't have as many clean versions of songs. Google play music had two versions of albums for many albums. Also you can play your downloaded songs only. Now you have to have Wi-Fi to get to the downloaded songs. It will eventually load but not easily without Wi-Fi which defeats the purpose. Also it does not keep track of where you were. I have to start at the beginning of my playlist and push shuffle every time and it always starts with the same few songs. So it's not random like it should be and then I have to restart it so I'm listening to the same songs over and over and over and that means on a playlist with 1100 songs. Editing playlists is very difficult as well. If I click thumbs down google play music would remove it from the playlist. Not this one. Many other issues. Weird we were forced to this app.

Alot of the recommended stations are just some main stream popular artist I never listen too. Let me add my own playlist or artist to my main menue play lists. Let me add or move wdgests around. And for crying out loud all the playlist have the same songs... Like if I click on a dubstep song or something why put something non related to dubstep there? Same with Nightcore or electro music.. let me make my experience with this app better by allowing me to change and move things around. I don't even scroll down because it's all garbage that I'll never click on. It's so sad that this app just get worse and worse. Now you added that song video thing when the old one worked perfectly fine. Now It randomly switches to video even if I selected song. I had a grate experience with this app for like 3 years but it's just getting worse and worse over that time

I don’t understand why we can add full albums to our library, but we can’t delete individual songs from albums within the library. That makes no sense at all. I don’t always like full albums and deleting songs is much easier than skipping them every time they play. Also the alphabet off to the side in the library would be helpful when searching for songs. And why don’t we have the option to put songs by artists in alphabetical order when we click their name in our library? Maybe everyone doesn’t want songs in order by album. I love the amount of music on the app and how organized things are, but these are major issues that are turn offs. If it weren’t for the fact that I can get a lot of music on this app that isn’t available elsewhere I would’ve been cancelled my subscription. Please fix this ASAP.
  • Just falls short Nov 3, 2020

    By kcchiefn420
This app has a lot of potential and I’m not sure who decided to have it work the way it does but very simple things this app doesn’t offer is holding it back so much. For instance if I click add song to queue it makes so much more sense to add said song to a new list that starts after the current song playing not at the end of the shuffled playlist which can have hundreds of songs in it. Adding to a queue means you want to listen to it next or at the least soon. And why for the love of god is it almost the end of 2020 and this app doesn’t support the ability to remember the shuffle and replay settings when you come back to the app. I mean such simple things like this are littered through the app and are holding what has potential to be the best music streaming app back from the top. TL:DR Fire whoever your app dev is cause they are trash.
  • Downloads are a pain Jan 27, 2021

    By RettopMK
A decent app for music if you live and work in an area with good signal. I rely on downloads and the download feature in this is a mess. Switching from one phone to another isn’t as seamless as it should be and you have to go and download each song individually as it come across your playlist. Can get time consuming and irritating. There is no way to download your entire music library at once. Only “liked” songs and playlists. And even then my liked songs won’t download at once. It gets stuck and the majority of the songs are left waiting to download. Checked all my WiFi settings and allowed space and it’s fine. Apple Music and google play music were the better apps by far. I have had this app on a Note 10 and now an iPhone 11 Pro and it’s the same issue across the different systems and slightly worse for apple.

This app is missing from Serbian iOS AppStore for more than a year since Serbian iOS AppStore has been enabled and all the developers have been informed in March 2020. All developers have enabled their apps but most of google apps are not available on Serbian iOS AppStore so we cannot download or update our apps or write feedback, except here, and only when we manually change our regions to us and lose all our paid subscriptions in order to be able to send feedback through the AppStore . So this is the only way we, Serbian users, can share our feedback. Official support does not want to help us and we pay for services we cannot use. So, please, inform your devs to enable this apps ob Serbian iOS AppStore ASAP. We will soon reach out to media to make wider attention to this issue and google discrimination of Serbian users if not fixed soon. Thanks.

Please, if I have a playlist synced in “saved items” it supposed to update (download automatically) all the new tunes which I put on the same name “online” playlist, but it never uptade itself, the only way is deleting the playlist (in saved offline) and download all the way AGAIN to get sometimes just 3 new tunes I must to download like 3 hundreds tunes in order to keeps up-to-date my offline same name synced playlist. I’m thinking to cancel my subscription only because this, it already bugging me a lot. Second thing the music VIDEOS in a playlist synced to play offline some of them just play the music sound, if I created a Music VIDEOS playlist it’s supposed to play ONLY VIDEOS in all of musics which i put on it, not just a few aleatory (p.s: off course I added the video option when I did the prior search).

    By Kjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj

  • Inexcusably bad Nov 12, 2020

Hate this app! Agree with other criticisms; this was never as good as Google Play Music. Good enough until I upgraded my phone. I personalize my phone (my songs for individual ring tones, etc.), & those songs need to be on the phone itself. YTM seems to download them, but, though the app indicates no errors, the songs, my music that I uploaded in the first place, do not actually load to the device. Not working is bad enough, but keeping from me from what's mine! Awful!

I absolutely hate this app. Google Play Music was SOOOOO MUCH BETTER. I've tried to give it time, thinking if I just got more familiar with the app I'd like it more. Wrong. I have a long commute to work 5 days a week and would previously use GPM's radio for the drive. YouTube Music's radio option is complete garbage. My biggest issue is I'll select a classic rock radio and after about 10 songs get heavy metal, country, rap etc. It's like it will completely reset to a different genre. Terrible.
