I love yelp! Helps me find things I want to eat and etc...but!! Is it just me or did they update the app and make it more stressful for us? When I search up a spot and then minimize it to look up a address...I go back into the app and it brings me back to the main page again. So I had to search up the spot again! So time consuming! It doesn't stay on the page where you left off at so I have to go through what I searched for. This didn't happen before. Yelp please fix it!!

Ordering furniture unseen in person can be a daunting task. Although we were only moving into an apartment temporarily, I wanted our place to look as close to ”homey” as possible. My experience with CORT was seamless, thanks to Christian (from the Ft. Lauderdale store). He was professional, responsive, and proactive. Christian initiated contact with the management office at my building even before the leasing agent called me and arranged delivery before Thanksgiving! The selection was minimal because I waited too long to order before the snowbirds came for the winter. The pieces, however, were either in good or great condition, so much so that I added more furniture to my order after they were delivered. Christian helped me select some pieces that I wanted to exchange and was candid about an item's condition. I can’t recall all the names, but special thanks to the movers, especially Mark, who kept a positive attitude despite working with a half working elevator. The furniture was handled with care and professionally assembled. One guy even helped me decide where to place the sofa. 🙂 Thank you, CORT, for helping us transform what could've looked like a cold corporate apartment into a cozy temporary abode. Until our next move.

I saw a lot of negative reviews regarding this dealership especially their services department. I was reluctant to go get my new Dodge Ram serviced at the dealership after the check engine light came on. I decided to bite the bullet and go rather than take it to Selma where I had just purchased it the same week. I live in Woodlake so this was the closest option for me. Boy was my experience totally opposite than all the negative reviews. I was met and greeted at the door and was directed to my service person. His name was Isaiah and he was very nice and professional. They fixed my truck and even called me to thank me for coming in to have it serviced. Not sure if the manager took heed to all the negative reviews and made some drastic changes or what but my experience was excellent!

Yelp SUCKS. We tried to order food delivery through this app and never actually got our order! Order from the restaurants DIRECTLY, as in, CALL the restaurant, most of them have their own delivery, not through any of the 3rd-party apps! By ordering through Yelp we had no contact info for the driver, we waited outside for an hour being told our order was "on the way", and in the end our order got lost among multiple orders. No food ever! App is fine for finding restaurants but NOTHING ELSE.

Would anyone seriously take someone to court if it was not a real case? Of course not, and once I prove my case with that I’ll be suing Yelp for allowing it and hiring my business. Yet another big tech company thinking they make their own rules and such. Well this is my free speech to let everyone know how bad Yelp is to business owners. Beware, they have no customer support it seems to me more like they are trying to sell you something every time you call. Yuck. Oh and their sales people are all horrible too they couldn’t sell me water in the desert but they want like $5 A DAY to put “highlights” on your business profile, like VETERAN OWNED. Yelp allows faux reviews with no way to correct or challenge the review and Yelp doesn’t allow good legit reviews of genuine customers. For example: three one star reviews of my business were from three people who genuinely were never customers (I.e., they live in other states and stated explicitly that they wrote their views for political reasons). Their words are slanderous and politically motivated and don’t even have anything to do with my business. If I try to correct the review, which I tried to do, Yelp holds up these three one star reviews as legitimate (“We don’t take sides”) and hides two five star reviews from legitimate actual customers. But if the reviews are about “experiences” that never actually occurred, then how does one correct it? This company needs to be more fair. (Not to mention 5 of the 5 star reviews by actual customers was suppressed and not calculated with the other reviews and would have created a 4+ star rating instead of a 2.5 star rating. Get rid of the “Fake News” of yelp, it hurts businesses).

You'd think Yelp would've made their app more accessible and seamless by now, but for what I'm assessing, it's being controlled by a predominantly engineering team that likes to fiddle their thumbs and just play around with cheap optimizations that don't deliver any value to users. Leadership mindset needs to change, the app is dry and stagnant. Google is coming for you.

Be very careful not to sign up for something that has on-going fees. I signed up for Planet Fitness originally in the winter hoping I would go to the gym but I prefer outdoor exercising. The $10 fee drew me in but when I got there I ended up paying $80 in sign up costs, I felt awkward changing my mind in the middle of signing up not realizing these extra fees would be added and just went forward. Yelp is very helpful when considering a new restaurant or service, or when traveling. I love Yelp and now am a Yelp Elite for the last few years! Yelp helps me patronize local businesses and I always leave a review, as I understand how helpful that is to a local or small business.

  • Use it all the time but annoying sponsored adds Mar 30, 2019

    By Emwilflower
I love this app but the sponsored adds are annoying especially when they aren’t part of your modification on search. Also annoying when you go to read reviews on a place and they actually have SPONSORED reviews or something for other restaurants as your scrolling for other restaurants. Not only are these adds irrelevant to your search, but it’s made me misread reviews for places thinking they were for the place I was looking up. HOWEVER! I will continue to use this app because despite the annoyances like, it’s still extremely useful overall and I’ve even used it to schedule appointments for hair and nails. But usually use for food. Still recommend it for looking up places.

  • You need to allow reporting of false info Oct 23, 2019

    By Ricky Browning
The app is great of course. But you need to allow people to report false information. I understand people have different experiences but when something is a flat out lie and can be proven as a lie by looking at photos from other users, we as a community should have the right to take down the false comment. For example I could say a place of business only allows kids to use their business but other users have posted pictures and comments showing adults using the business as well. That would not be a personal experience. That would be a flat out lie. At least allow the reporting to go to the business owner so they can be made aware of the false accusations.

Overall the app is easy to use and becomes more intuitive the more you use it, like with any aspect of technology that’s designed to learn preferences and make recommendations. What I would like to see developers improve over the next few updates is how you’re able to request “friends” or at least have a section where I can track/manage my requests one they are sent. After a request has been sent, there’s no section to refer back to or receive notifications from. I’m aware that you can edit bot Yelp and push notifications in the setting but I’d like to see some more updates regarding the social aspect. I use Yelp primarily from my iPhone if that helps.

  • Good service, but could be refined more (especially on food) Jan 15, 2021

    By YakuzaDaemon
I wish there were a better way to weight and filter the reviews based on décor, service, and food quality. Also, it seems like sometimes the better places have artificially lower reviews than I personally felt they deserved and there are way too many 4.5 to 5 star reviewed restaurants that fall not only short of deserving said score, but FAR SHORT. This is my biggest gripe with it so far. I mean, I guess taste is very subjective—but it’d be nice to inject a little more reliability and objectivity into it. I don’t know how they would do this logistically or with the programming, but ultimately I want to be disappointed less when I go to a supposedly well-reviewed restaurant.

I'm using Yelp to repair a broken window. The problem is that you helped create the project, but there's no easy way to find where that project is within the app. I was eventually able to find it under messages. But that is not intuitive. Also when I get messages I don't get a message notification. I have to check my messages to see within the app. This would be a big Improvement.

  • Good but could use improvements Jan 31, 2019

    By Ric M.
Still my preferred app to check out restaurants. A couple of suggestions. I like that people can check in. It would make more sense if there was an option to geographically base the check ins. Say for example you go a business trip and there was an awesome restaurant you visited but couldn't remember what the name was or where it was located. While you remembered to check in, it was roughly about 3 years ago. You have to spend several minutes scrolling and scrolling through your saved check ins to find the general timeframe of when you went there. More often than not, I will skip over it and it just leads to frustration. Make check ins more useful. The same repetitive questions keep coming up. For attire, answering either casual or formal would generally suffice. I don't think people filter places specifically looking for a divvy or hipster venue. I think one of the more useful things you could add is average wait time and harness the database of loyal users. If you could ask if wait time is less than 5 min, less than 30 min, or greater than an hour for walk ins, that would help users prioritize their list of possible selections. Hope these suggestions make it to the next update.

  • Needs to prioritize reviews better Feb 8, 2018

    By Sashazur
It doesn't make sense that even for places with hundreds of reviews, the app lists reviews in random order... You might see a six month old review on top, followed by one from five years ago, then one from last week, etc. This makes it harder to tell if a place with overall good ratings has gone downhill recently, or if a place with overall bad ones has started improving. About the only way I can see this seemingly random order making sense is when a business suddenly gets a bunch of mostly good or bad reviews due to sketchy reasons - but that likely doesn't happen often. One other comment... I know people complain about how businesses can pay to get listed first, but the app makes it obvious by showing the "ad" symbol etc. and Yelp has to make money somehow.

  • Not such a heavenly experience 😉 Mar 25, 2021

    By Andi's Hearts
What I hoped would be a “little piece of heaven” turned out to be quite the opposite. I searched for a new local restaurant with good reviews, reasonable prices and outdoor seating. Not too much to ask for? It sounded like a great place so I made dinner reservations for two at 6:15. Upon arrival, we were given a bread basket. My girlfriend and I looked at the menu. Shock and awe- nowhere near the online prices! Thirty minutes later our orders were taken only to arrive one hour and fifteen minutes later. The food was just “okay”. Suddenly, at the end of the meal, a manager began to walk around to see how everything was. When we offered suggestions for improvement, she admitted that they were overbooking and couldn’t keep up with the crowd (did she mean the Boca crowd?!) If it wasn’t for the beautiful clear skies and breathtaking breeze, we might have left very disappointed. And...the free chocolate lava dessert they gave us definitely sweetened the slightly sour experience. Unfortunately, this restaurant is currently lost in the clouds. I do wish them every luck for success in the future. Sure wouldn’t mind going back for a cup of coffee and that “ heavenly” piece of lava cake! Yelp has a feature that you can join a wait list while on your way to a restaurant. However this feature RARELY works. Why have a feature in an app that rarely works and is really upsetting when it doesn't? Take the feature out or make it work! Also, there's is NO way to send Yelp a question or comment. They pride themselves on giving out reviews for everyone else, but you can't give them any feedback or direct review, except here.

I like yelp but it's really annoying when I click out of the app to check something and then when I go back it disappears. Then I have to search it again. And when I click on directions it takes me to uber. Which I don't want. So if I'm looking at the directions and now go to Google maps and have to double check it go back to maps and it's gone and then search again. Please fix that please.

This app is useless. Reviews cannot be sorted. Sure, the first few reviews can be sorted. Fine and great. But when you click "More Reviews" the sorting is lost! How do I get an accurate picture of a business based on old reviews from 2016? Don't judge a company over what happened years ago. Times change. Management changes. Employees change. Why doesn't Yelp allow us to sort ALL reviews??
