Honestly this is great for an MVP! It would be a useful next step to let folks with accounts log in and draft or post to their own blogs. For now, I guess the mobile website and the “post by email” method are our best options on mobile.

the platform is weirdly awesome?!!! I stumbled on this through privacytools and created an account and started writing after a long time! then I found the app, but the app had no "login" functionality... hmm does that mean that the mobile app is only anonymous platform? 🤔 either ways I love it! been using the mobile app to write random thoughts down asap and the desktop browser under a penname 🙂

This app is beautiful. I love the app because I can write as much as I want publish and share post. I recommend this app to anyone who has a passion for blogging. It would really be cool if they added more fonts and the bold feature. Also if they added a journal to this with a passcode as an upgrade feature would really be great.

cool app. Ease and simplicity of use appreciated. Just was sad when I accidentally deleted it clearing out space in on my phone's memory...that even after I figured out how to email customer service...no way to retrieve any of what I had written. Oh well...that COULD be a good thing tooooo, I suppose😜

This is just awesome!! No worries about absolutely anything! Stay anonymous if you want. Join the community if you want and post your blogs on the web. This is surely just a "no nonsense" writing app and it is the best way to write about anything, anytime, anywhere, any way you want! Highly recommended 👌.

This app is really great. I want consider myself to use this daily. I've created my account to make my writing is collected into one account, but then I don't find any way to sign in my account into the app. So, I hope the developer continue to develop this app better. Especially, add sign in feature for whoever have an account like me and anybody else. Thank you.

  • Great site. App works fine but is ultimately pointless Jul 18, 2018

This is a good app as far as it goes, and I’m a huge fan of write.as itself as a platform. I’ve found the app to be a good if minimalist text editor, and it’s proven to be stable so far. I also like that it can store multiple drafts, which is something the main site can’t do. But that’s its only real advantage, other than offline mode, and there are plenty of other text editors on the App Store. If you do keep an actual blog under a username, there’s no way to use the app to publish to it. This is doubly annoying given that paid tiers on the site allow your content to show up on read.write.as (among other things), but the lack of login makes this impossible to take advantage of without using a web browser. There's no way to pull a post published by the app into your actual blog, which is just as well (from both security and convenience standpoints). As it stands, you have to log in via Safari, and then copy and paste your whole post over. This isn’t the end of the world, but it’s a strange design choice. You can’t even use the share menu in iOS, since the app won’t show it until you’ve published the entry as an anonymous post! With that being the case, it’s not clear to me why using the app is better than writing in Pages and then copying and pasting into the website via Safari, or just writing the whole post in Safari to begin with. At least then I can use my actual blog, and can take advantage of the different tiers of paid account.

Edit: 3 stars dropped because no updates to the app in FOUR (4) years!!! - Old review: Literally only $1 a month to map my own domain and write on a truly anonymous platform? Sign me up! I only wish there was a few more features such as dark mode (for app and blog background) and the ability to remove dates on posts for $1/month subscribers.

I love it, really serves the main purpose to publish your own articles and share it anywhere online without the readers needing to have some form of app themselves. But I wish it had editing for different fonts sizes and colors !!!!!!! Please add that to this app !!!!!!!!!!

Please add fonts, bold and italics in the app. The absence of these features makes the appearance of the article unprofessional and less attractive

It's good so far. Just a bit confuse about the italic words. I can't make them into italic or bold? And I'm just curious, if I delete the app, do all of my writings will be gone as well?? I can't check my account info on the app. They asked me to create a username before, when I first use the app. And if I move those to my account on web, it will create a different link, right? I'm just confuse as to stay using this app or using the web. I'm comfortable using the app though.
