  • This is… amazing?? Dec 1, 2021

Every picture it generates is aesthetically pleasing, I haven’t come across anything even remotely resembling some artificial hellscape artificial image generators like this usually come up with. The pictures are obviously still pretty abstract (don’t expect it to be able to render a face or animal without it being distorted or melting into the rest of the image) but it seems to pretty consistently nail good shape language and composition, which is honestly a feat in and of itself. I think one of the ways it manages convincing you of this is the fact that the colors seem to be somewhat preset for each of the art styles you can have it generate an image in. I assume they were all picked using human input beforehand to make sure they look good together, and then the algorithm picks them out at random or slightly changes a smaller sample of them each time. Even so, I’m still impressed by the general success it has with the composition of images. Fully plan on using this as a starting off point for some interesting paintings! I understand that it might be trained pretty specifically to generate images at the aspect ratio it already does, but if for some reason it works fairly easily in other aspect ratios I would greatly appreciate if that was added as a feature to the app.

really fun way to pass the time. That being said there's a lot of potential here for creative stuff. I think being able to allow the AI to run for longer periods of time or to allow the AI to build off of previous creations. This could also allow for a mix of the different art styles. I would also like to see the changes over time as the AI is given the same prompt multiple time and the images begin to have consistent results as a pose to a random image every time.

Never thought an AI could be available to the everyday human to create art, it’s intriguing how it can generate a picture from any key word and it never be the same picture, I wish it could more accurately draw people of faces but it perfectly conveys the idea and color scheme in its own way. This is the pinnacle of Abstract and the future of art, would love to use some of the art generated as NFTs because these are truly one of a kind pieces that get created I also wish there was a option for longer rendering for a more detailed/ specific generation. Regardless, I’d love to see where this app will go, beautiful nonetheless and astonishing creativity. You may not be good at art but neither is the AI, it reminds us that art is the conveying of emotions and this AI can show us thing that make you feel a certain way, such as fear, sadness, chaos, hatred, love, lust, anger, pride, etc. 5/5 all the way. No bugs or issues with the app, runs smoothly every time on my 2020 iPhone SE, i most definitely recommend this to anyone and I show this app to everyone I come across. Do yourself the favor and give it a try, basically a free wallpaper generator. Thank you WOMBO for this beautiful Combo.

when I first came across some images online I found this amazing app that can make all kinds of crazy chaotic things but the more and more that you get to mess around with your own ideas that you can't fully see. As you mess around with all the features and figure out which style you want it is a feeling like no other. Just looking at some of the pictures that this app creates from my words formed by my thoughts. who ever made this thank you.

The second I understood what this app did, I was in love with it. It has created some of the most awesome pieces of artwork I have seen. Some suggestions: I’d love to be able to fine-tune the images- such as filtering what colors or shapes it can use, or maybe even what images it draws from (maybe questionable legally speaking). I’d like if it were more clear if I can use these images however I want- can I sell them? Print them from someone else? (I wouldn’t do this because I want to support WOMBO, but just hypothetically) Etc. I’d love to see more themes of course, the existing ones are great (some of them could use some more flexibility. For example, steampunk always seems to generate a floating steampunk island, which sometimes incorporates my input), but I think there’s plenty more potential! I’d be curious if there’s a way to make it better at understanding how art SHOULD look- could it create human faces more reliably? If so, I’d like to see a sliding bar for how much the AI should try to make the image look realistic, so that we can still get funky looking ones too.

I could spend hours using this. I have spent hours using this. This has got to be one of my new favorite things. The only issue I have is its inability to let me generate a new image without restarting the app. Most of the time when I try to generate a second image it just shows me the first one I made. Just a small technical thing but its annoying to have to restart the app every time I wanna make another image.

This is the most beautiful AI art I have ever seen in my life. I’ve been wanting to try AI art for a while but have never been able to find an app that does it. Now I have and it’s brilliant! There are a few suggestions I would make on the development side of things though. For example I think that it should be more social media-esque so that I could visit my friends profiles and see their gallery. The way the gallery is currently set up is a bit hard to navigate and it’s hard to find past artworks. It could just use some updates to improve the controls and such. Like when I am in the gallery it’s way too easy to accidentally click on things while I am scrolling through trying to find the one I want. It would be nice if the gallery was designed more like instagram, so that I could easily find what I want. But in terms of the actual artwork itself, I wouldn't change a thing! Phenomenal!

Edit: I wish previous creations could be stored on a library for future purchase and download. This app is amazing. This really helps my creative side. The only thing is I wish you could download the picture without the "Dream" and "Wombo Art" watermarks. I just want the picture only. I'd even be willing to make a one time payment to be able to have access to that feature. Such an easy to use and fun app. The art it produces is absolutely inspiring.

In the early days of iOS devices, there was an outpouring of incredibly creative art apps, many of which are sadly no longer available. I have been very disappointed with the App store’s offerings as of late, many of which are just a bunch of childish selfie filters and adult coloring books. WOMBO Dream is a much needed lush, verdant oasis in this currently parched app desert. I don’t think I’ve spent as much time having so much creative fun on my iPad since … 2012! Wombo Dream takes words or phrases you enter (prompts) and turns them into AI generated art. You can then publish your image (I think it stores it on their server) and save it to your device/iCloud. The results can be uncannily artistic, frightening, insightful, hilarious, or just plain weird. Of course there will be those that cry “THIS ISN’T ART!” The same thing was said about digital art, and before that, photography. But I am infinitely more inspired by Wombo than by any other app in the entire app catalog from the past year. I am looking forward to more styles and updates in the future! Just a future feature request: it would be nice if you could include the “art style” (psychic, synthwave, etc.) as words under the image in the way the prompts can be included.

I used to use a website called Nightcafe or something along those lines, but it was limited to credits and created pretty slowly, and just wasn't convenient for me, then I found out about this app, and I love it! It's easy to navigate, and is very fun to use. I've even used it to make some cover art for some of my song projects! No ads is awesome, too!

It's a brilliant concept but the execution is comically bad. It could be endless fun typing in words to see what pretty images you can come up with, but instead it's fun for a few minutes to see what horrifying abomination it makes. The pictures always look pieces of several artworks cut to pieces, shook up in a box and dumped out and then glued together wherever they fell. The images it produces are sometimes funny, sometimes terrifying, once in a while ok. Never good.

The only issue I have is its inability to let me generate a new image without restarting the app. Most of the time when I try to generate a second image it just shows me the first one I made. Just a small technical thing but its annoying to have to restart the app every time I wanna make another image.
  • New go-to Dec 29, 2021

This is my new go-to app for generating artistic inspirations and ideas. There are a few things that would greatly improve its usefulness. 1) Capture the text and the selected style as a comment that saves as a background image. 2) Support a landscape rendering option. 3) Support standard Google search construction for the input string so that I can exclude beagles when rendering bagels, or can include exact strings between quote marks. I've actually run into similar situations a lot with Dreams and is super annoying. 4) Provide a guide of phrases that Dreams will respond to. For example, I discovered "low poly". Discovering phrases is no fun when English isn't your primary language. 5) Support foreign words and phrases for the input text. This is really frustrating, because search engines do this very well. Why can't Dreams? Thanks for the great tool! I look forward to seeing how it develops and would happily pay a small subscription just to support the ongoing work!

So all it does is it takes words you put in, finds some semblance or concept using either the internet or some word and picture bank it has, and creates a new image. If you use it on your phone, it seems to only create phone screen size images, I haven’t figured out how to adjust the layout or anything. It’s very abstract images. Do not type in “dog” and expect to get a cuddly image. I can’t see a way to feed an image into it. But contrary to other reviews, you can save, share, etc the picture. Even without signing up. Just hit share and options should come up. It seems to use my battery up something fierce though. Otherwise… it’s neat! Kinda. It’s probably pretty cool for a free app, but applications are limited, I think. Still, you can make some stuff worth putting in your home. If you’re in to this sort of thing.

Honestly a very fun app to use. I think it is quite interesting to see how the software takes what you have, both abstract and concrete. If nothing else, I would be fascinated to learn or even know how the program works. All in all, a really fun app to use to kill time or contemplate how AI will overtake us.

I- what more do I have to say??? No In app purchases, it’s I just- man. I’ve only used it once so far, just got it, but whoa. This is just- glorious. Ah- I wish there where a few more prompt/styles Like Specifically a horror style- Maybe- if possible a larger character limit? Again only if possible, I don’t want to push the devs n people. But it’s an amazing app either way!! Ah,, and now I’ve learned about it being a whole NFT thing, I’d highly suggest the devs well- don’t- do that? People use this to create ideas and start up stories, unless you have the idea makers permission- please don’t sell them-

Great app. Only thing I don't care for is how it puts a generic frame around every picture that is created ☹️. Would love to have the option to remove it. Other than that it's a great app I recommend to anyone. Very fun and easy to use.

Amazing experience! I'mazed how some of the renders come out how I envisioned. Further rendering by you and you have an Amazing piece of artwork. Go further and animate it and you have a high quality avatar, sticker, emote, profile pic ect. Most images that render are very disorganized and make it difficult to tell what it could be. On the other hand. It all depends on the words you enter into the AI. Love It!

I enjoy the app! The art styles are fun to play with. I wonder if there are more styles to come. I’ve been playing with this app all day with my siblings. Though the finishing piece is (mostly) pretty, we’ve figured out what to expect from each art style. A few things I would like to be able to do: 1 - rename the artwork after it’s been finished 2 - rearrange the gallery / have a compact option to view more art pieces Other than those two concerns, I will enjoy this app for the time being

The paintings almost always turn out great, but the user experience is what's stopping this from a full five stars. 1: the settings aren't really settings (can't edit account info or anything and the only actions are external links to socials) 2: no option for feedback (which is why I'm typing this all here) 3: no clear instructions on how to use the app 4: no option to rename artwork or toggle showing the prompt after publishing 5: can't see style names of the entire bottom row
