    I was hoping to declutter and move to electronic only. While the iPad version has many great features such as automatically linking to websites some of the other interfaces are clunky and the navigation is not intuitive. I would like to be able to bookmark where I stopped reading or mark a pattern for a future or current project. I would like to be able to add notes to those bookmarks. While I like the idea of being totally electronic, it would be helpful to be able to copy the text version of a pattern and to be able to print a paper copy that I can actually read to carry in my knitting bag. (The current print function results in a fuzzy .png file copy that makes me feel like I am going blind.) It would also be helpful to able to highlight sections of patterns within the ap and to add notes. The scrollbar also seems to work or not work intermittantly. All in all, I think that the ap is heading in the right direction, my fingers are crossed that new features will soon becoming our way!

    Downloaded the latest edition just fine, but the bottom of the magazine pages are covered with the ‘slides’ of all the pages. The bottom part of all the pages are inaccessible to read. Please fix.

  • Historical purchase problems

    Updating my review for the most recent update of the app. I now have access to historical purchased issues, but I can't tell which are issues I've bought and which are issues that are just for sale. Even a tiny icon on the "editions" screen would be helpful. UPDATE: I somehow managed to update the app so that I have my historical purchases. I think I uninstalled and re-installed the app and then restarted my iPad and it was ok. Now I'm looking at the newest issue and the words are fuzzy and hard to read. I'm having a similar issue as other reviewers. I can't download the issues I had before upgrading my iPad to the new iPad 3. Also, I just tried to DL the most recent issue and it says that it's in the download queue. I'm not downloading anything else though. Pretty shoddy that there's no in-app support and the "app support" button on iTunes sends you to the subscription help. I don't have a subscription. One way to convince me to get a subscription would be to make customer support a priority. PRO TIP: having the email for the support staff below the fold in the product description on iTunes where I can't copy it is NOT making customer support a priority.

    I've had this app downloaded to my ipad since it was first released. I had a bit of trouble initially, but after contacting customer service, the issue was quickly resolved. (I didn't have the log-in information entered correctly.) The customer service lady was polite, very helpful & quick to respond (in fixing the issue). I was then able to access my subsctiprion through the app - for free. (Some magazines out there are still charging their subscribers not only for the paper edition, but for the app edition as well.) Vogue is ahead of the curve in my opnion. I have never had any trouble since the initial access issues - never even any crashes. This one is top-notch in my book. Thank you Vogue Knitting! - I like that there are links within the articles and advertisements so I can directly find more information if I so choose - Of course the ipad edition being free with my paper subscription :) - The ability to see added views of the knitwear & being able to zoom - The ability to view the magazine with my ipad either vertically or horizontally

  • Uninstall/reinstall fixes problem

    I was having the same problem with the app crashing after the last update. But I checked in here to see if anyone had a solution and saw that someone said an uninstall/reinstall had worked for them, so I tried it. It worked for me as well. Now to review the app. It's not bad, but it's really just an electronic view of the magazine with links, as far as I can tell. They haven't moved away from the print paradigm and really into the e-magazine format, the way some magazines, such as Bon Appetit, as an example, have. So they're not taking advantage of most of the features that the e-mag format makes available to them. But it's a magazine I really like, so I'm happy to have it in a format that doesn't collect dust and that I can call up and look at when I want to, so I'm happy with it. Particularly now that it works again.

    In order for the app to work, you need to delete the app, REBOOT your iPad, and reload the app again. The sign in is confusing - instead of password you need to put in your email address again. It works after that, yay! Here's the message from VK: We had some major tech issues with the last update to our app and it affected all of our digital customers and we do apologize for the inconvenience. Please delete the app altogether from your device and reboot your tablet before reinstalling the app. Once you have reinstalled then please sign in by entering your email twice. This should correct the problem. If you are still unable to sign in I will create an alternative account for you to use in order to access your purchases

  • Confusing, but works

    I also had some trouble learning how to access the digital versions of my print subscription, but once I found the correct login, everything works great. When first registering the app, you are asked to enter your email address and first and last name. I thought that this was the login process to get my digital mags, but it is not. If you go to the bottom tab Editions, a login button appears at the top right of the screen. THIS login is where you enter your account email address twice, as both a login and password, to access your already paid-for magazines. Hope this helps!

    I love having the digital version of this magazine on my iPad. I can access it when traveling. I receive it as a perk for my print subscription. Nothing can replace the actual magazine for me, but the digital is still great. I have no problem reading it and the colors are great. Equally important is the Vogue Knitting Customer Service. My email enquiries are answered by a real person with a real name. You can respond to them and you get an answer. And they do not send canned answers with the directive to contact them again if this does not resolve your issue. On one occasion, I a actually got a phone call from them. The young lady extended my subscription for my trouble! I wish Interweave Knits could take a lesson from them!

  • Big Oops on VK's Part!

    What once was a fairly workable app (although I have wished from the beginning that there was a way to preview whatever you are buying) is now garbage. The app icon is no longer the app icon - it now looks like the cover of one e-mag. This makes it too confusing. I tapped around for 15 minutes trying to find one of the issues I had purchased, as well as a book I had purchased. None of the back issues are available within the app, and the selection is slim pickins'. Vogue Knitting you are missing out on a lot of revenue. Have you seen on Ravelry that there are over 1.9 MILLION members (worldwide)!!!!! Guess I'll hop on over to Interweave and see at they have.

    This app worked wonderfully, until it didn't. Then it was spectacularly horrible! First it stopped accepting my password or reading my iPad 'credentials'. Then Vogue suggested I delete and reinstall. Guess what happened? I lost all of my previously installed downloads and the stupid thing still won't work! Thanks for your 'HELP' Vogue! Amazing Update! Vogue subscriptions forwarded my request for HELP to YuDu. They reset my account. I was able to recover all of my downloads and get the updates! The app is back to working wonderfully. I'm loving it again. My rating went from 1star to 5 BIG ones. Thanks for you help Vogue. I really men it this time!

    I had problems similar to others. At first it just would not load the early fall issue, with a "missing xml" file. Then the app itself would not load. I deleted the app, and reinstalled it. I did have to restore, and download all the issues I have paid for, again. However, I now do have access to all the issues that I paid for. Whew! Love the app in addition to the print edition.

  • Missing basic navigation tools

    This app lets you view the magazine on your iPad. You can email or tweet something you like, and bookmark a page. But it doesn't offer an interactive table of contents so that you can select your articles of interest, and hop over to them. Instead you have to swipe and swipe through many pages to get to what you want to read. It does have a search feature but after typing in an article's title, it did not give me the link to that article's page. This lack of navigation tools makes the magazine much more cumbersome to read. A real basic function is missing.

    After reading the reviews i had to download and try it myself. Works on both my iphone4 and ipad without a single crash. Too small to really read on the iphone but it works. As advertised it's the print version of the magazine i can carry around on my ipad. What a surprise when i saw the box around the fashion photo and it launched the vk360 video. You have to be connected to the web for this to work but it was amazing... Can't wait for the spring issue.

    I really like this - took me awhile to figure out how to "manipulate" the snapshot file in order to print the pattern - they tell you how to do this on the app site but what they don't tell you is that it creates a .png file which you cannot print without converting it to either a pdf or a jpeg - I kept "crashing" my Epson printer driver until I figure this out. I emailed a snapshot of the pattern to myself from my iPad and after downloading re-saved the file as a jpeg which you can then print, no problem. It's not a magazine but I don't live where Vogue knitting is easily available so for me it's a treat - immediate gratification, oh dear?

    The redesign LOOKS great, but links within the magazine no longer work - seems like the pages are all just static images. Used to be you could tap on an ad or URL in the magazine and it would bring up a browser and take you there. Also should be able to click on a design and be taken to its pattern page in the magazine (and similarly, return to the design). No longer does that either. Same for continuation of an article to a page in the back of the magazine - can’t go there or return to the original article page.

    Hey, you guys ... you need to fix this app ASAP. Since the update, it won't open at all. Some of us are actually trying to knit your patterns. It's been like this for at least a couple of days, and it's extremely frustrating! Contemplating subscription cancellation ... I really don't want to go back to paper copies (storage issue) and it's kind of pointless to have an electronic subscription if the app won't open.

    For those who don't know: contact support thru the vogue knitting site. I did albeit it took a while to fix it all, the Cust Serv were helpful. I found the link by login in their site. After a somehow arduous process, I know have digital access to all my magazine subscriptions since 2011. The app interface is well done, and what ends well is well.

    It only opens in Newstand on the iPad. Needs to be convertible into PDF. Can't import patterns into other iPad programs to effectively use them. Need to be open each pattern individually and have the ability to save them as PDFs. Better get someone who is more versed with digital technology on your staff Vogue this thus far is an epic fail. Wish I saved my money and not got a two year subscription.

    I love this magazine! There are videos showing the sweater on a model, turning around for back and side views, and really nice closeups of the project. I scroll thru the mag with the bottom scrubber because I love to read all the ads. Many of them have web links and I found a couple of really nice new yarns and designers. When knitting from the app I just leave my iPad open on the page just like I would the magazine, but I can enlarge the pages on the iPad or go look at the video. Now here is where it really helps because I can enlarge the print or charts. And if the iPad is powered down, it will open back up to exactly where I was.

    This was a great app; now it is absolutely awful. Update before the March one deleted all my downloaded mags and the app disappeared. Now all I have is one mag in the newsstand and nothing else. I never updated the app on my Itouch and it works perfectly. App developer does not respond to emails and March update did not fix problem.

    Strange but I havent had any problems with my iPad and this app. The magazine is beautiful and easy to page through. The videos of the garments are a great feature too. I liked the magazine app so much that I have also downloaded two of Vogues books as well. Keep up the great work! I can't wait for the Fall issue!!

    I love Vogue Knitting APP. Love how I can view on my iPhone 6S. I’ve been asked why I have this big phone; to see better. I pay directly to Vogue Knitting Magazine not through Apple. At least 6 times during 2017 I’ve had to delete & reinstall this app to view all purchased magazines. Now it’s 2018 & the same thing is happening. Please fix this Apple!!!

    I had the same problem with the perpetual state of download. I just uninstalled the app and reinstalled and all issues are up and a available for download. For those of you that have had a problem, give this a try. I am happy to have all of my issues back!

    The new app is slick, glossy, and apparently has a great interface. Despite being able to log in on the VogueKnitting website the app is presently refusing to accept my email address. It continues to state that the email address is not recognized. Please! Fix this glitch, NOW. Long time subscribers have years of digital magazines and this long time subscriber cannot access any of them. I appreciate the reply from the developer. When I logged in to the Vogue Knitting website an update to contact info resolved the issue!!! I am, once again, a HAPPY VOGUE KNITTER!!!

She helped me and added a banner to help other. Now it works perfectly. It has a lot to over and is great to explore. Content changes so I look forward to accessing frequently Vogue knitting is a must for me. Now I have my magazine wherever I go. If you have a problem just ask they will help you and respond very quickly

    Does anyone test updates or reads reviews of the Vogue Knitting app? Does an update that kills an app not concern the support team? This will have a negative impact on how likely I am to renew - in fact, will be turning off auto- renew now while I remember.

    If you delete the app and reinstall, it works, BUT you need to download all of your editions again. As someone with a few dozen editions, that's a little annoying.
