    I have nothing but positive things to say about Varo. I absolutely love this bank!! They are there for the people who literally live from paycheck to paycheck and cover for me if the need be. Every other bank I had stole so much of my money from me!! It actually sickens me to calculate the expenses that they sucked from me in overdrafts and even extra overdraft fees on top of the $35 every single time I needed them to be there for as a valued customer who banked with them for years. Not once in 10 years did they help me. The worst part is I now know how badly they treated me by holding my money for weeks at a time holding back my government benefits every month for 10 years. It’s unethical and wrong to treat anyone that way charge me an overdraft fee when you have had my money when I needed it most and charged me over and over and over the figure comes up to several thousand dollars when I actually saw what they had so unfairly done to me by switching to Varo holy cow praise Jesus they have treated me more than fair and I will always give VARO praise. Thank goodness you showed me what the old bank had been doing to me I am so glad I switched to Varo they are the best bank and their customer service over the phone is outstanding. Like I said in the beginning I have nothing but praise to say about this bank Varo is the best bank I ever had!!!! VARO ROCkS

    I’ve been using Varo since 2018, and it’s pretty cool. I’ve also banked with Chase, IBC, and MidFirst. A physical bank comes in handy if you’re living paycheck to paycheck and need that money on your card that day. Varos’ answer; if you have direct deposit then you can get paid early like with other popular apps. So that’s even better. And if you’re not in a rush you can just take a picture of the check and it’ll be in there the next day of the week. And you can deposit cash by green dot cards. But the customer service is better than any other bank I’ve had. And I’ve yet to run into any issues. They are also always ontop of the new. They were one of the first to get the cards you can just tap like Apple Pay etc. idk I’m easy going so this bank works out well for me. And the early pay is cool. If you need a bank I’d recommend this Forsure. If your bank is troublesome or anything switch over. If it’s not then only switch if you need to get paid earlier

    I was with the original app before moving over to the new. I love the direction you guy are going and improving. I will say I’m disappointed there is not a widget out for the new app and I’ve realized how convenient and how much I’d rely on a simple picture with the funds I have in my account. It’s become a pain swiping to the Home Screen that has the folder with all my banking apps and then swiping again to open up Varo. The old app had it so when will this become available? Also still live the idea of customizable card are even a metal one😜 other then that the other major cons is practically no one supports Varo not even cash app, I was even having problems buying online from Joann’s craft store and had to use a who different payment method all together because they just didn’t support Varo yet. So still have a ways to go but so far I’ve had nothing but good things with Varo and the saving is a nice thing to have with its little features like save my change. I go into app with a little surprise waiting for me because it really does add up! Keep it up guys!

    I’ve been using this banking app for over a year now and I love it. It was recommended to me by my cousin. While I have yet to experience the benefit of being paid two days earlier because my employers submit timecards late, I still enjoy the app. The best feature on the app is the save your change feature, which has saved me a bunch of times! The only issue I’ve had with the app was involving a mobile deposit of a check. The amount was over $1,000 and instead of depositing the full amount, this bank split up the deposits. However, it didn’t take long for me to receive all my money. Also, this past Veterans Day I was able to receive my paycheck a day earlier with this bank. Normally, with any other bank, I’m sure my paycheck would’ve been delayed due to the holiday. 10 out 10 would definitely recommend!

    So far I have had a great experience with the new Varo Bank card. I've been able to use my chip and contactless pay at any location that offers it. I also have been able to transfer funds from my cashapp to my new card without a problem and it deposited quickly. Now, I do hope that I don't have a problem with my direct deposit from the IRS soon since I had already filed my taxes and used my old Varo Money account information....Don't let me down Varo 😁😁 because I love you guys!!

    I was using the old app & card, but when I switched over - my account was locked & now I don't have access to MY OWN MONEY!!! I tried calling, waited over 60 minutes & when I got through, customer service told me the fraud department would email me. I still haven't heard from the "fraud department" & my account is still locked. I have direct deposits that are supposed to be coming through & I have no money to pay my bills. Seriously considering hiring a lawyer & suing.

    This app is worse than the original app. You should have kept the old one. I shouldn’t have to open the app to view my updated balance. The old app would let you see your balance via notification if you spend anything. Also when you make a transfer from savings to checking or visa versa there is no notification at all. You guys took one step forwards and 10 steps back. When someone send you money via Zelle for example, still no notification saying the money is received as well. You have to log in and wait to see the funds. It use to be almost instant with the old app. This update was the worst thing you guys have done. I was ok with updating my direct deposit and all those other things, but not giving the user proper notifications is not good. I need to be able to see what goes in and out of my account, and I see other reviews saying the same things. Why change something that wasn’t broken? At least keep the useful things. It’s useful to be able to view your current balance after you spent some money without having to log in completely. Whoever took away these features should give me their job. You had one job. One job. Now I need to find another bank.

    I am unable to login, I have been on hold for 30 minutes, my fingerprint and pin number is not working since I got this new VaroBank app. Yesterday it was working fine. (Edit)Now my accounts are saying they are closed! I cannot reach customer service.

    Deposited my check 3 days ago and it still hasn't been accepted. Ever since they switched over to "Bank" support has been absolutely horrendous! Like it is literally impossible to reach them! They keep you on hold for over an hour then hang up on you. You can send them an email but they'll NEVER respond to it and i'm at my limits. You guys are playing with people's money and need to get your stuff sorted out ASAP!

    Came for the high interest yield savings (like most people) and cancelled my account within a month. Would’ve cancelled sooner but I wanted to give the bank a chance. It’s the 1st of December and I still haven’t received my funds and it’s been over three weeks since I cancelled. Customer service’s feedback was “they’re escalating it and they’re not sure a check was even issued...”.I still don’t have my money which I saved for Christmas shopping and I don’t even know when I’ll get it. To be more specific Varo has ridiculous limits (like tiny limit i.e $50) for the amount you can deposit into your savings from an outside institution. You can avoid the limit if you originate the transfer from the outside institution but many banks charge a fee for doing that. Ally bank, a direct competitor, doesn’t have any limits or restrictions like that. Essentially Varo tries to get you to utilize more of their services like their checking account (obligatory checking account by the way). They want you to get automatic deposits too, for example, and in return they will increase your deposit limits. On top of everything they made the cancellation process a nightmare. There are so many better options out there. Stay away

    I thought I loved Varo when it was just a prepaid card. But now that Varo is Varo Bank they are even better! The automatic savings tools and high interest savings account are great! Easy to use app and responsive customer service. Oh and their new cash advance feature was so easy to set up and use, giving me easy repayment options giving ME plenty of time to pay it back best of all money was there in literally 3 minutes. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    App is pretty fast, stable. The only thing I'm a little annoyed about is the ability to send a paper check... Why is this not an option? It seems on the older accounts from Bancorp (Varo Money) they can send paper checks but the new accounts from the Varo charter can't. What's the reason for this? I guess I'm going to the grocery store to get some money orders lol

    Make it to where we can change our phone number without having to call customer service. I understand long wait times because of Covid, but I shouldn't have to hold for over an hour just to change the phone number on my account. Answer security questions, enter social, enter debit card #. So many ways this could be done.

    Everything has been smooth sailing no issues until I had to report my account for fraud I had to freeze my account so now I have no access to it until fraud department contacts me and I’m being told it can take 2-3 days my opinion fraud issue should be taken care ASAP and you talk to someone the same day to start a report most banks you do talk to someone immediately but this bank is making me wait . I have field a police report and still haven’t filed a report with the bank except freezing my account to stop anymore money coming out so no access to money at all and they don’t seem concerned when this is your main account and have a family to provide for they expect you to wait for them for god knows how long.. bills don’t freeze nor do day to day expenses. I just think these issues should be handled right away and not have to wait days for a phone call . I am not the suspect I am the victim that someone stole a large amount of money from my account it wasn’t just a little .

    Well to be honest I liked the old app better. Because it would allow me to sign in with fingerprint reading. As to where this one will when it does. And not often. And it seems to run slow from time to time. If designer of app can help me with this I will be happy to come back and change my ratings.

    I do not want to talk way down about Varo as I have enjoyed them and the way the accounts are set up and the features we have access to. As of late it has been very very difficult to get a hold of them. To change your info you need to email, which I did a month ago and finally got a response but my old account for the first app was changed. When I needed to correct this I never got a response. When you call the wait is way more than it was before.

    The app is getting worse, now the biometric login is broken on my Samsung, before the update it was working normally. Also the UI is just ugly, dark mode capability would be awesome. Great Bank, but the new app has a little issues... The login screen gets frozen, won't allow me to login. Then I have to force close the app and restart it. Then the login is possible. This should be fixed.

    Please, do something about the phone service. I am giving Varo anither chance and most has been a good service. The problem is 90% of my calls are wait times in excess of 60 mins! What? I had to cancel a card when list and order new card. It has been OVER two weeks and no card. I have since then found my wallet and Varo card. I would just like to reactivate card so I have a way to access my tax return arriving any day now. HELP.

    Hey I don't like the fact that You mess up the pending transactions and Posted Transactions. It messes me up cause then I spend with hope that I have Money only to Get overdraft fees or I go above budget. Fix that Please and Show exact balance remaining so people know how to spend so they don't spend when they don't have it.

    Yesterday afternoon I cash out money from my cash app to my Varo debit card and went to check my account and the money was NOT THERE ! Then Varo posted on the same day that they are experiencing technical issues with app and your balance might not be correct. I waited all day for the issue to be resolved and it wasn’t. I called Varo this morning and spoke to a representative and she tells me the supervisor is taking care of the problem and I should receive a email by the end of today about my funds and my account. Remember, this has been like this since yesterday and yesterday was my birthday. If I was really dependent on this money or had a emergency I would have been screwed because of Varo issues. Once this problem is resolved, I will deactivate my account Varo and move on to a better company. Varo was a great app to use til the New Varo debit cards came out and the new Varo app. Varo you have officially lost a long time customer because of lack of communication and the long waiting period for my funds to be shown on my account. I will NOT recommend Varo to any friends or family.

    I’ve been with varo for almost 3 years and loved every minute of the experience with the old Varo money!, every notification, the customer service, and of course timely direct deposits. Imagine my surprise when I crossed over to the “New & So called Improved” Varo bank :(.. I don’t get none of my notifications anymore for my transactions and that’s a huge thing for me. Not knowing when things come or go and then dealing with Calling customer service, being on hold for hours, just to be told “I’m not sure why your notifications are not working, but they should be”.. DUH!!, I know they should be but for whatever reason ever since crossing over to this new bank, everything has taken a downfall which made me start moving my money back to my chime account. Please get it together Varo so I could come back to you. I’m obviously not the only experiencing this because if you look at other reviews other users have the same problem!!, New customers may not have this issue, but people who’ve had to transfer over surely do!!! Please fix this

    if we and most of the customer decided having an account with Varo it was cause offering simplify all the trash and charges of the other banks impounds to customers. But every time Varo is changing and not for better more security it is good but very restrictive for example I living in the border with Mexico when i cross the border the app stop working sending e mails and they “doesn’t know why” - international transactions now are charged - ATM getting % more high in commission. transactions get duplicated informed that to the email and phone customer service they responding weeks later saying it was nothing wrong it fine and charged. so it means i can’t complain. very sad see a good bank becomes in an other “MONEYlittle secret fees collector” like the other banks are and WE the customers who believed who helped and are helping make this big Bank NOW goes to end in the priority list.

    They have horrible customer service! Can never get through on the phone even after hours of holding. Emailing them will get you no where either. If you have an issue, expect up to 14 days before it even gets addressed. There are other banks with better customer service. What sucks is I recommend them to a lot of my friends and they all have the same issues. Difficulties accessing your own money, has nothing to do with daily transaction limits, can never get in touch with customer support.
