    I put some money there to earn a high interest rate. Gradually, over time the rate dropped to near zero.When I tried to remove my money it turned into a nightmare. I tried transferring the money at the website. No Go. Then I tried the phone. The wait times were over an hour, but I waited that amount of time on three occasions. I then tried to transfer from another bank. Every time that bank tried to move my funds, the call was rejected by Varo.

    Varo Bank closed my account on March 30, got an email early morning saying that they had closed it. The email said I would get a check in 14 days. My direct deposit went thought Monday/Tuesday. Nothing was spend because I didn’t have any time to pay bills before they closed it. I got an email today (4/14/2021) saying that they will escalate my issue and will get a check 14 days from today! And a shorter amount of what I had in there. I am seeking legal advise. This is plain robbery.

    I have not been able to use my card not get anyone on the phone to change my pin number. Not sure why my pin stopped working in the first place. I did the $50 pay advance, paid it off and then a few days later it says I have an active $40 pay advance. I did no such a thing. I also can't use my card online at the store ANYWHERE!! It says I have funds available but everything I try to do gets declined. I will no longer be using Varo and I really liked Varo Money. Save your time and energy.

    I can't express how happy I am with this bank. They have made everything so easy to use and navigate. They have a customer service that actually cares, and their app has better features then some big name Banks that I have used in the past. Just look at their suggest a feature page, you can vote on suggestions for new features, and they show you which ones they are working on, which they have completed. Overall, extremely happy, I'm not going anywhere, I even brought some family and friends here

    I like varo the only thing that bothers me is there's no virtual options available while yu wait for yur new card in mail after becoming a new member and having a confirmed direct deposit into the account right after the account is open.. it left me in a bind cuz I didn't have access to my money an I needed to pay rent and if it wasn't for my friends an family letting me barrow at last minute I would have been served with eviction notice. my point is I shouldn't have to ask or barrow from no one

    Varo is a great company...they try as much as possible to save you money...example... I used an out of network ATM and they immediately hinted me that I just paid a fee for an ATM withdrawal and immediately forwarded me a whole list of free ATM outlets very close to me...I really liked that and the fact that they are watching to make sure you save money.

    I love the app. It has great features, however I can't transfer anymore money from my other debit card to my Varo bank account. Not only that, I can't link my only bank account to Varo's app. I've tried numerous of times and still nothing. It's really disappointing only to find out that can do so little when this app as so much potential. Any ideas please? I would much appreciate it.

    This "bank" continues to find new ways to be a joke. Don't trust your money with this app! My card was stolen but you can't cancel it or order a replacement online! You have to call in and talk to a person during their business hours and hopefully reach someone! It's so absurd! It doesn't make any sense that they make it unnecessarily complicated! Wouldn't they want to make it as easy as possible to prevent fraud!? I've moved all my money, changed all my direct deposits, and I'm done!

    They use to be a good bank. But not so much anymore. They are having "glitches" where you go negative. Sometimes you get the money back and sometimes you don't. I always keep my money in my savings and transfer over to my checkings as I spend. (I have had to pay the neg. Balance to be able to use my account.) Also if you are 4 days late on your advance forget being able to borrow ever again. Even if you always pay early,except one time me when you get sick. Customer service has gone downhill.

    The app was working great. No problems initially. However I find it more than troublesome that the check deposit now requires a direct deposit to work. To explain, I am a freelance worker. I do NOT get paid in a conventional paycheck-to-paycheck manner from which I can to any reasonable degree set up direct deposits. I would need private citizens to set up a new form every time I do a job and want to get payed. Everyone writes checks. Everyone should reasonably be able to ACCEPT PAYMENT for work

    Loved it at first. I could do mobile check deposit but now that option is only if you do direct deposit. That was the whole reason I joined Varo but am now looking for another place because I get paid by check, not direct deposit. Leaving them.

    Loved it now hate it. If you dont have $100 in your account you cant get gas at the pump. Isnt that the reason we have a card? I called customer service about what was going on. They say its the gas station not then that charges a temp fee. But i called customer service for the gas station and they tell me they card companies are the ones that charge. Why you lying about the fees?why you making people struggle?

    Use any other mobile banking option. Chime is far far better. Advance feature is buried in the menu somewhere you need specific direction from an agent to find. Any other bank is better than Varo. Uncustomizable card. Forced RFID chip card. Better hope you have a wallet that has RFID protection. Update: Closed my account. Will never use this trash heap of a bank again. Uninstalled permanently.

    The app and bank used to be great. Not so much anymore. I can't use the mobile check deposit. Says I have to have Direct Deposit. Sad part is that I do have direct deposit. I've called they put in a trouble ticket said they would get it fixed. Emailed said they would get it fixed. Still nothing, the direct deposit hits my account like its a refund apparently. I should've just stayed with my local bank. Sorry Varo but i might switch over to Chime.

    Haven't had any problems... Until this past week. Mobile check deposit has stopped working and all it says is "scheduled update". Updated the app to the latest version, and still not able to deposit my check. I live in an area where it's not exactly convenient to get a paper check cashed, plus I'd like to not have to pay a check cashing fee, then a fee to deposit the cash. Needs to be fixed, then maybe I'll edit back to 5 stars. Sorely disappointed.

    I think it's great except for when I try to make a mobile deposit the camera does not want to stay focused so I'm having to do the process over and over and over again, then it usually gets rejected anyway, hum...if I cash a check at green dot, EACH check cashed there is a charge.

    One of the worst customer service providers. Could not speak to a supervisor when asked. You have to verify SSN, DOB and last four of your card number to even get on the phone with customer service. Then they want your email and full name when you get in touch with someone. Make no sence of having to verify 5 steps. I would never recommend Varo to friends or family.

    I use to love Varo! Never had any issues. Recently their mobile check deposit was down, for about 2 months! The issue is resolved, but in order to deposit a physical check, you now need direct deposit setup. It doesn't matter that I've been with them for about 5 years! I don't understand, at all! I've never been negative! I have a work check from a temp job that I cannot deposit, nor take anywhere else due to me already writing "For deposit at Varo Bank Only". I just can't deal with them anymore
