The new app sucks! At first it was okay and worked similarly to the old app. Today I attempted to open it and it said I had to upgrade the app or create a new one. There were no other options! I already upgraded when I first downloaded the app so when I put in rewards email, it didn't accept it and wouldn't move on from the screen until I created a new account. This is unacceptable.

As a previous user, I went to download this new app and saw the terrible reviews and was worried I would have issues like everyone else had before me.. turns out the app actually works really well. I was able to login using my email from the last app and did their upgrade feature without issue. I was able to place an order with almost no issue (there’s a bug where if you decide to make your wrap a meal with a smoothie, you have to re-add all your customization for it before you continue which isn’t a huge deal). I noticed there was a new release a few days ago so maybe all the previous issues had been fixed when I started using it. Don’t be afraid to use it for now is all I’m saying! To the person who can make this change, I suggest making your menu photos enlargeable as I had to go to the site to see what I actually wanted to order.

  • Customization error on store’s end Sep 29, 2020

    By Reviewindave
When I ordered “no coffee” in the Mocha Madness, the store saw it as “No Choice” and had to call me back to ask what it was supposed to be. I wonder if this error is happening with other smoothies and I have a feeling a lot of customers will complain about this soon. I will update my review to 5 stars once this is fixed :) Also, can we PLEASE finally have the customization options available in store be in the app, or at least a special instructions option? For example, if I order mocha madness in store I can tell them I want “double cappuccino” but that’s not an option in the app, I have to call them and let them know before they make it. I can’t believe an entirely new app was made and the only difference I noticed is that it looks better, while removing the feature to scan and pay

  • TropicalRewards migration was broken, now fixed Nov 7, 2020

    By ClarkEwx
Updated 7 Nov - the account migration issues seem to *finally* have been fixed! Thank goodness. My non-account comments from my original review (below) still stand, limiting the app to four stars. Original of late Oct - It’s now the second update to the new app, and the migration of TropicalRewards accounts to their new system remains broken. Even worse, customer support has been unresponsive for two weeks now, with no end to the problem in sight. Ordering in the app works okay, though it is unnecessarily complex when you aren’t customizing an item, but you’re effectively starting over on your rewards (with no help in sight) if you use this app.

  • New App, No problems Oct 7, 2020

    By FireHouseJoe
Considering a lot of people are getting upset about the app swap over and issues with logging in you should probably take that with a grain of salt... or at least extra kiwi in your next drink. Transferring “upgrading” my account was super simple and with almost instant results. The set up is very similar to the previous on so no loss of functionality here. The reward points posted over shortly after logging in. Some of ya’ll should need to zen out and go get an orange ginger glow for your nerves. I’m fact that’s what I’m doing today. ;-)

  • The old app worked much better! Nov 12, 2020

    By LKMF07
I am very disappointed with this new “upgraded” app. It does NOT allow me to use my weekly “free supplement” to add extra ginger (? Because it is now listed under “fresh add-in”) to my smoothie, as the old app allowed. It allows me to save my favorite orders, which I had been excited about, but it will not let me USE the saved orders. Instead, it says “Detox Island Green” is no longer an option, so I need to manually re-enter my order each time. Additionally, the app does not save my debit card information, instead I have to enter it for each different location I visit. Occasionally, my card info will populate at a location I visit frequently, but this is the exception, not the rule. This has actually lead to my deciding NOT to order a few times, as I was driving and did not want to take the time to pull over to enter the information, so my order could be processed and ready when I arrived. I was very excited about your new app, but I do not see ANY improvements and have only been disappointed with this version.

  • No better than previous app version Oct 7, 2020

    By Pokey124
New app uses over 80 memory, the previous app used about 10. New app doesn’t allow you to save/mark items as favorites for quick ordering; when you click to view the menu it opens the safari/internet app instead of staying in its own app; and doesn’t allow you to save/mark more than one location as a favorite/frequented spot. Really, don’t know why they needed to create a whole new app, and definitely don’t know why it takes up so much data. ~~~~~~~ Went to their website to view menu. Clicked an item for detailed information, but instead of bringing up details, it acted as if I said I wanted to place an order. When I clicked the “contact us” to report website error, they do not have contact information for corporate. It actually doesn’t have any contact info; it only says to check back soon if your location isn’t listed on the site, how to search locations on the site, and to contact the specific location for order assistance (which doesn’t help the hearing impaired.) Pretty sure legally, companies have to provide at least one way to contact them, and it has to be easy to locate.

I have been a long time app user for tropical smoothie and it was awesome in the past. Ever since I upgraded, I try to enter my credit card information every single time, waste 25 minutes, and end up having to go through the website to order. It's pretty frustrating. I guess it's time to delete my app.

I NEVER leave reviews. Congratulations, you’ve done so poorly across the board that I feel compelled to write. It’s mind boggling how poor this is. Clearly there was no one testing anything. Here’s my guess... Some development team lied about how easy this would be to improve. They didn’t know what they were doing, and tried to over-engineer it with stuff no one wanted. Time dragged on, and some executive demanded that this go live by X random date, no matter what, only because they promised some other higher-up exec it would go live by then, and it’s better to light the world on fire instead of admit a mistake. Developers, designers, UX folks, project managers were put through the grinder to get this out, so the moron execs could check a box. They released an app you can’t even sign in to. Horrendous. Nothing works. Several people should be fired, starting with the out of touch exec who hired the dev team, anyone who bypassed QA and decided to go live as is, and any exec pushing for a false random go live date. Scrap this and start all over, and don’t blame your worker bees. Try listening to them instead! Godspeed, innocent folks in the production of this disaster!

Update - the app still sucks. Not useful at all. TODAY I got a receipt that doesnt have a bar code. No Rewards. What was a great app is now a TERRIBLE app. You can no longer pay with the app and rewards are no longer automatically applied. You inly get 1 chance to scan your reward and if you mess up you lose your reward. Money grab by corporate so people forget to use rewards. Shame on you corporate because the employees are great but your business decisions on the app are garbage.

  • Gave up! Sep 29, 2020

    By SMT1955
Went into my old app. It told me to download new app and my points would transfer over. Got to new app and it said to sign in. I tried but I accidentally used my new email address. It directed me to sign in to my old address, then said that my saved password was incorrect. Tried several ways to change password but it would not even try to accept it. Gave up because there’s no way to solve it in the HELP section. Now I can’t sign in to either email. Changed password twice to the “strong password” option, which is supposed to automatically save, but not only will it not save but I can’t copy it in order to memorize it because it doesn’t give me that option.

  • Very disappointed Oct 20, 2020

Real unhappy with the new app and transition to it. And frankly I’m thinking it’s the corporation more than the app. Not sure what was wrong with the old one. I thought viewing the menu was easier. You could see the menu’s (ie pictures and names of the items) and scroll through them. Now you have to know what category you’re looking for or open and close each one-cumbersome if you’re not familiar with the menu or are looking for something different. **More importantly, my biggest complaint is there is no longer any customer service!! In the past I could call and speak with, what used to be, a very friendly, helpful human. Can’t do that anymore. I guess corporate has been too successful to worry about customer service anymore. So if the issue doesn’t fit into one of the predesignated categories you are out of luck. In my case an email change has prevented all of my previously accrued points from being transferred to my new app and I can’t get anyone to help me get them back! When I request help through the only channel provided me, I get a canned “gee we’re sorry, were working on it” reply. Very disappointed!
