WHY keep changing things????
more lessI knew it was a mistake to click on “update” without waiting a few days to read the reviews - which I was sure would be terrible - because they just keep on changing things and making it worse for NO REASON!! I can’t understand why they think ANY of the recent changes are improvements - they moved things around AGAIN so it’s unfamiliar! Nothing on the home page is relevant. Can’t even FIND MY OWN reviews now! Why is everything so HUGE? They’re wasting space & making me scroll way too much… This is the FIFTH time I’ve updated this review in 30 minutes - every time I try to do something I keep finding more horrendous changes. Are they honestly going to make me click on “read more” for EVERY single review? OMG!!! Now instead of just having 2 search lines so I can type in the name of what I want to see and the location directly below it, it I have to click on something else to get the location box to show up so I can type it - an UNNECESSARY EXTRA step! Then, there are multiple restaurants with the same name in this city, and you don’t show me the address anymore, they all just say the city, so I have NO IDEA which one is correct!! They have absolutely destroyed what used to be a helpful trip planning app & it’s just awful now. I’ve never used yelp but it’s time to consider it... Did the people who created this ridiculous redesign ever try to actually use the app before they released this crap to the general public?

My wife and I have used this app for years for conducting travel research, building daily itineraries, etc. Up until just recently, it was a 5 start app for us. We're planning our next trip, and the app has drastically changed!! If we can still create daily itineraries, neither of can figure out how to do it. Based on other current reviews, this feature appears to no longer be available. Unbelievable! We're already looking for another Travel app!!

Unbelievably Disappointed
more lessPaid A LOT of money for my extended family of 7 to enjoy Ruth’s country dinner. When we arrived there was NOWHERE for us to sit. There were 2 seats we were able to find (@ different tables) and nothing else. The man who was to be singing/performing offered to disassemble a display table (card table) and gather some random chairs to accommodate some of my family which was super nice, but I felt like there should have been enough proper seating options for us. The girl setting things up was also so apologetic and tried to help best she could while my teenagers stood holding their plates and ate standing up. I went strait to the front desk where I was told I might find Julie (who I was told was in charge of these dinner reservations). The girls there gave me Julie’s business card with a cell phone and other contact info. I texted her and got an auto response letting me know that they had received my message and would be in touch. That was 3 days ago and still no contact from Julie or anybody for that matter… when I arrived back at the venue, someone had set up a table for my family in the blistering sun (to leave space for entertainment in the little left shade) with enough chairs and a proper table cover. I went to serve myself and there was maybe about a four of a cup of corn left and NO dessert left except watermelon. Just over all a huge disappointment and for the money I paid, just completely unacceptable.

This app used to be the best thing for world travel, now it appear to be a social media app... And, short of finding a paid ad for a restaurant in the city you want to travel to a really hard to navigate one at that. The best feature was that you could download some larger cities easily for offline access. If that's still possible, someone will have to walk me through it. It really feels like you are better off with Yelp or Google trips for most of the world now.

Great feedback from travelers. However, good luck getting there. You can't copy and paste any addresses to navigate to the locations. You click on the listing, then the address, then it opens the location on a tripadvisor map, so you click on the listing, then the address, and so on. In an endless loop. THREE forum posts about this issue have been CLOSED by tripadvisor. The developers are well aware. They just dont care about this annoying inconvenience.

Can not report response after bad review
more lessMy issue with Trip Advisor is they block you from providing any updates until 90 days later after posting negative review. My post of review from Sheraton Hotel Marina in San Diego November 2019 received a response from Sheraton. They posted they want to talk further to me about issues that took place at time of visit. I have responded twice to their email that they provided in their response post. I have had no response at all from Sheraton. If they really wanted to speak to me they should have provided a valid phone number and contact person in their response. Posting an email address but never acknowledging my emails back per their posted request, just makes it looks like they( Sheraton) made an effort. Trip Advisors blocks me from reporting this to travelers until after 90 days. Thus, current travelers seeking real time information will not be given up to date information from travelers that have experienced recent issues that could impact current travelers. So reading allowed posting without allowing immediate updates makes Sheratons attempt to work out issues meaningless. Trip Advisors followers will not know that Sheraton has failed to actually resolve issue and fail to acknowledge my 2 emails back to their request. I consider this deliberately misleading travelers.

I use to LOVE this app, we always had it open when traveling, but with every update it gets harder and harder to use. I spend more time trying to find places near me and every time I hit a wrong button I end up back at the home screen and have to start my search over, and I get different options trying to do the same search. It's frustrating to use and I can no longer trust that it's finding me all the places available.

Has Gone Downhill over the last year. Used to be very eay to navigate and filter restaurants. Now there are very few options for filtering and sorting. Simply put, you can have better luck finding restaurants and attractions using the Google Maps app. It seems that they have changed their emohasis from being a review tool to becoming a travel booking tool. As a result I find myself using the app less and less.

Update: This app had gone from bad to worse. Now it closes out before fully opening. The changes suck. The new social media feed is annoying, but I would tolerate it if I was still able to enter dates for trips and assign things to specific days. The main purpose is to create an itinerary, but you can't do that because everything is entered as you add it and not assigned to a day. Bring this back.
