  • I would recommend giving it a try even if you’ve never played a Touhou game. May 14, 2021

    By Derek Tompson
The tutorial is relatively fast and easy to understand in comparison to some other games I’ve played so if you have usually trouble remembering the controls playing games don’t worry. the storyline is very interesting and it just makes you feel as if you’re really in the game itself and the amazing quality of the background and characters. The added feature that you can choose your own character’s name and the fact that it appears in the storyline also contributes to that feeling but even if I couldn’t feel immersed in the storyline I would still be able to enjoy the game. The soundtrack also hits different than in any other games but in a very good way, I think every game needs some good gameplay and even better music and this game managed to carry this out without any trouble. It seems to have done that to a level I never thought was possible. I do wish I had something I could recommend in order to improve the game but unfortunately I do not currently.

Used to play the JP version. Glad to say that having the story in a language I can read makes it definitely a keeper. Don't worry, there would be new stuff as the story expands and also a ton of characters. Don't worry about the meta too much. I'd be lying if I said that they are all equal, we Touhou fans have each our own favorites regardless of tier rating. P.s. The damn gacha keeps giving me my non favorites. Honestly I've already maxed Youmu. Give me Yukari!

This game is amazing now that I get to play it and for a long time I’ve been waiting for a game I could on mobile and this made me happier than ever the mechanics are great grinding to get new characters ain’t that hard and the games story line is great overall I gave this game a 5 star since you get to play as your own named character for the protagonist and the fact the there are so many characters to get makes this game perfect and hope i goes for a long time

The recourses are enough if you participate in the events and do your daily and weekly tasks, its pretty f2p friendly for a gacha game. Grinding coins is harder than grinding for seal crystals, that's a problem, though. The characters' personality and lines are perfect for them, the story is also great, and I love how we can choose the voice of the characters. I definitely recommend it.

I was hyped up about a touhou gacha game coming out when this was first announced but I was afraid that i would end up having to spend money on the game to play it fully, like many other gacha games. Thankfully that’s not the case and you don’t necessarily need to spend money to play the game. If you like touhou, and you like gacha games, then this is probably for you.

As someone who is a sucker for Touhou materials(not the bullet hell), this game ticks all the right button. The character artstyle is amazing, the BGM is amazing and the story is starting to build up. The gameplay is also interesting enough, not so easy to understand but not to complex to play. The gacha is forgiving(minus the duplicates), but the costume is a bad mechanics for F2P, but a good one for P2P. F2P can play without the costumes, but having them makes the game much more fun.
  • Games great! May 22, 2021

I found about this game via an ad bout a week ago downloaded it and it was a lot of fun! The game doesn’t rely on spending money to get good, the story is great and the free rewards really help. The only thing I’m confused on is the max amount money you can have. I don’t understand why there is a money cap in the game. Other than that, the games really good! Highly recommend.

Longtime Touhou fan, pretty happy with the gacha. It's generous and has some wonderful art and music. It's very grindy, but stages can be cleared pretty quickly. Very F2P friendly; every character has their strengths so you can use your faves so long as you know what they're good at. There's not a lot of content, and the character pool is currently very small, but these are issues that'll be fixed in time. Coins are also super hard to get for how much they're used.
  • Great but still needs work May 15, 2021

    By Chiyoko (Sands)
The game is stunning with the graphics and visuals, and I love the fun dialog and fan music. But this comes at a price as the game keeps crashing for me and won’t let me play through levels or even upgrade my characters. My internet connection isn’t the problem, as I’ve played Magia Record and Food Fantasy and other games without a problem. While this game’s concept is fun and good, I feel this release is still in its infancy and needs some polishing.

It's a great game don't get me wrong. Great graphics, art, music, characters, etc. But the only problem I have is the gacha system. I understand it's meant to be challenging but it's pretty much kinda rigged. Also pricey. (50 crystals for 10 rolls) Feel like that should be lowed down to 40 or 30. Grinding for 50 is a lil too much. Also, there's nothing after Chapter 2. I can't tell if that's the end of the game or if there are just stories to be added but overall its a good game! 👍

I got excellent rolls, I'm cruising through levels with ease ... but I can't even figure out how to upgrade my people! The game is confusing, I wouldn't even know how to play if it wasn't for the full-auto option. I have many 5* rainbow cards and don't even know what to do with them. I tried level breaking and it says no duplicates found even when I have 6-7 copies of some. Deleting the game.

Its not bad, but it has its flaws. I get to the gate battle thingy I can't even see my character's health. That's rigging the game and I lost instantly. I had tried adding more friends and I still couldn't see any health. It rigged the game and the colors even started to change the more I played. Then they turned a complete different color and I could barely focus, it made me lose because I wasn't focused. These need to be fixed.

The game looks pretty, but that’s it. Nothing to do. Just play one level, the only difference being the enemies. This game is when you out all your money into visuals, but forget the actual game. If this is how the global version is treated, you might as well not make it at all and start gatekeeping whatever fanbase you have.

Now, I preordered this game ever since I saw it and I really love it so far. I really hope this doesn’t turn into a cash grab type of game because it looks like the type of game that would turn into a cash grab but if it does it will really lose its potential. I also really like the art it’s beautiful and the storyline is amazing as well.

This is just a fun game, I don’t get the 1 star reviews. Yeah, the content so far is a bit lacking, but there’s going to be more. I’m still able to enjoy this game without spending money and have all my friends at about level 50. Just put in a bit of time and enjoy!

The dialogue is so perfect for the characters, the artwork is beautiful, the gameplay is interesting and unique, the rate of earning currency is very fair, the music is wonderful.. I'm a huge Touhou fan, and this game is honestly perfect. I could go on for hours about how much I love it, but I'll put it simply: If you like Touhou, you must play this game!

Been playing for awhile and I have neither good or bad things to talk about. It's pretty standard for a gacha game. Combat is very straight forward, not alot going on with it at the moment. The pull rates for units are all the same, so there's nothing like 6*/rare units(which tbh was the hype for me). Game just recently went global, so content is still getting updated. That's it. Honestly, I don't hate it but it's lackluster as is. Maybe my expectations were too high but since I'm a casual, meh.

Okay, I want to give this game a 5 star, I really do, but it has some small flaws here and there. Since these have a limit, I'll just say some flaws. -Resources are so very sparse, most of the time, you'll just be waiting through days to get Seal Crystals, which is a very bad thing since it's a gacha game, not having a consistent grind for it is a pretty bad thing. -Leveling gets really slow after around Lv 50, really discourages dedicated leveling. -There is almost no point in 10 summoning.
  • It's enjoyable but.... May 15, 2021

    By Mccorthicck
It only came out so I'm not gonna criticize it that much but my problem with this is that it takes such a long time to even unlock the enchancement option when some of the stages are hard to beat without leveling up your character. the gacha rates are fine! can't wait for flandre to get added in this version!
  • Jun 13, 2021

    By Justerfrog
People generally complain about the rates of drops on gacha ganes including this one but a 5% rate is generous for this kind of thing, nit to mention how easy it is to get Crystals. Many people apparently can't beat the tutorial but it's simple when you actually read it. I just wish the game came out with a finished story, while the harder difficulties provide entertainment while waiting for the next chapter they just make you overleveled for the new stages.

Grindy and repetitive but I like Touhou. I like all the different ways I can upgrade my Friends. Tho, I don't like how difficult it is to get them. But it's a new game, so as the meta sets in and more characters join, hopefully low tier Friends will be easier to get. I also wish this was multiplayer, although it IS nice to not have to deal with p2w whales. Also, even tho I'm playing the game a lot, I'm still maxing out on stamina, but getting no coins. Please give more coins.

Pretty fun game, have been playing since launch. It has a decent story and great artwork, I haven't had any issues with the gacha but that's probably just me getting lucky. My only complaint is the music, it's not bad but rather lacking? There's only one main battle theme and I think it could benefit from a few more normal battle tracks. Other than that though it's very enjoyable! Would recommend.

Overall I've had great experiences with the game and it seems to have loads of potential. From the voice acting to designing everything is astonishingly a 10/10. My only problem is the gacha with it's terrible rates and very costly price. I'm alright with that though, the game is doable if you just have the patience to strengthen your characters. As a big Touhou fan, I'm really looking forward to keep on playing this game. Keep it up

It's fun. The gacha seems fine, I have gotten more than 50 pulls worth of SC and coins (free to play) and as of now, game gives you a minimum of 10 free pulls. I have 11 friends and 6 duplicates. But the real problem about the gacha is that rate up is a total lie. Of all the times I've pulled a character, only ONE has been rate up. Also, I'm not sure if the story has ended or if I just have to wait, but there's nothing after chapter two. I hope more content is added

The art is good, the main story is pretty interesting, but I really don't like how the game plays. The battles became boring and repetitive pretty easily and limit breaking story cards are sluggish (due to slowly using their duplicates 1 at a time). This game may float some other people's boats, but it didn't float mine. Sorry.
  • May 30, 2021

    By Allan Phan
The game looks nice and functional, but how the combat works is hard to understand. Even though I reviewed how the mechanics worked, I still don't know where to check for my party's weaknesses or what kind of damage the enemies could do. So I couldn't effectively use my party's skills without trial and error. I'm certain that this game works, but I would appreciate some info during battle, such as what my party members are weak to and if the enemy on the field has that element.
  • A Touhou game in every way at all. May 22, 2021

    By Cat and Tox
Spent $40 in two days and zero progress after chapter 1 hard mode. It literally gives me the feeling of old Touhou games: time consuming and so dam hard. But this time the strategy is: get a job—spend time—get pay check—use it in the game. Wow, so capitalism!!

Awesome music and characters. (This is Touhou) But the game itself is meh. Game play is turn-based (think other phone story based RPGs) has a gotcha for getting Characters and equipment (Story Cards) Room for improvement: - Make it easier to access the coin shop (currently have to go through the premium shop screen) - Clarity in the effects of the story cards and other game mechanics. This is in contrast to beautiful story blurbs on the cards. -Allow changing what music is playing on main screen

Story, art, and music are phenomenal (with the latter being actual doujin music, so it's all top notch). However, outside of that the game just isn't engaging, and the drop rates for upgrade items can be awful. UI is confusing and there are multiple things that should be easier to see in-battle, including your own characters' resistances/weaknesses (rather than just the enemy's), bullet types, and HP bars while attacking. Battles can get formulaic.
