This dark and beautiful point and click puzzle game is truly one of the best games on the App Store. It's stimulating, addictive and makes you think. The music is awesome and some times creepy. It makes the game better. The two endings add to the replay value. The interesting and abstract characters make you ponder and sometimes laugh. The choices you make are crucial and sometimes you won't know what to do. If you get stuck, that's ok, it's meant to happen, but there is always a way. Just make sure you look everywhere, if you miss one thing or don't complete one puzzle you can't finish the game. If you don't like how it turns out, just do it again. If you have no clue what you're doing and it's your first time going through you might get stuck and it might take hours (which isn't a bad thing at all!), but if you've been through it and know what you're doing it'll take 20mins tops. Get this game. All other bad reviews on this game are about bugs and stuff or they get stuck and "can't do it". There are no bugs, trust me, if it happens it's not the game, it's your phone/tablet/etc. Just push through and if all else fails, there are walkthroughs online.

Beautiful, dark, steam punky graphics. Choose your own adventure plot line. Fascinating, sometimes twisted, characters. Great replay value due to the numerous choices. Some challenging (but not piss you off difficult) puzzle type situations. 1 of the BEST games I've played in a very long time! I so wish this was a series, I'd happily pay and play all of them. Great job, OhNoo Studio guys! I hope you make more adult, dark games like Tormentum!

Edit: just finished the game and wow. This is far and above just more meaningful than pretty much ever other game I’ve played on iPhone. Even though it’s shorter than a traditional console game, this deserves to be on the level with one of them. It is a game that is going to stay with me for a long, long time. I saw no translation issues either. Some of the lines are spoken or written in riddles deliberately. This game is amazing and of the quality that I wish I saw more of in a mobile game. Great interpretation of Giger’s art. It’s definitely grotesque and at times disturbing, but nothing scary per se. It adds to the story and beauty of it actually. More thoughtful and meaningful than anything. The scenes are so intricate I found myself just staring at the them and zooming in for detail. I definitely want some high quality art from this game. Bravo, guys. Not for young kids for sure. The plot is poignant and there are some themes of mythology/religion enough to give it deeper meaning without beating you over the head with it. I want to learn more about this world. 1000% would buy another game from these guys.

What an ending! But I will not spoil that, just keep in mind that while you are indeed playing a game, you are also being judged on your actions. With that being said, here is what I thought of the game: Incredibly amazing. This is definitely a horror game, so do not play if you don't like what you see in the preview. Every scene is creepy and grotesque. But it's not actually a scary game. The puzzles are not too frequent and not too hard, but the the game is so immersive you don't need an immediate puzzle all the time. There is always a task going on for you to figure out. And not to mention the overall task, which is unknown to you. That made the game interesting, as I knew that it was all going to lead somewhere eventually, and it was fun just being in the moment. I would definitely recommend this game if you don't mind the look of it. It is an incredibly unique concept and look. It was also longer than I expected. Well worth the $5.

Unfortunately, it doesnt work past the "Play Game" button on my Lenovo tablet. just a black screen. This sucks because I REALLY wanted to play this game for a long time, and from the pics and videos it looks amazing. Please fix this bug so i can take the money I got in refund and try again, because I still really want to olay this. Edit: I got this game on sale, but have already refunded it after it didn't work. If it goes on sale again, I may give it another try.

Played Demo. Hated that I had to download the full game instead of just continuing from that. To make matters worse I downloaded the "full" version and started the game or at least I thought I did. Can't get past the play game button. just a black screen so disappointed. this is why I stick with companies I know but I waited so long to finally get the game and now I'm so upset I've wasted my money and usually you can hit refund if it's in a reasonable time limit... nope! support didn't respond!

Although the possibility of different endings is interesting, the puzzles are easy, and there is too much exposition in some sections. I don’t want to read a lot of words. I want to play, and I want that play to be challenging. The artwork is okay, but the animation is pretty simplistic. Not my favorite.

Just bought it and all I get is the title page and music, upside down and no game. I have iOS 13+ on the iPad. $4.99 and not 30 seconds of game. Would like feedback on what is wrong—seems like it would be interesting, noting previous reviews. Bruce R.

I’ve never ranked a game based on offensiveness, but in this case it’s warranted. In the end scene, one of the characters makes horrible comments about suicide, calling it cowardly, etc. I hope no one who has ever lost someone to suicide ever plays this game.

Conclusion was good, so is the graphics and puzzles. The only thing is that I feel that I was expecting lot more maps in this game. I was able to finish this game in a day.

I very much enjoyed the game. It was surprisingly long. It wasn't particularly taxing or difficult but well worth playing through to the conclusion (or to one of the possible conclusions...). On my wife's tablet, however, there was no background music and the graphics were very jerky. I doubt she would have rated it so highly. The direction arrows should also be clearer.

  • Shocked ending May 7, 2020

    By Jbrad2
I have played many puzzle games and thought this one no different. I figured out the puzzles and went forward driven to make it through as fast as I can. That is the way I usually play. But, when I got to the end and discovered the real truth of the game I felt horrified at myself. It made me take a long, hard and honest look at myself. This truly showed me what I was made of. And I was not pleased. I think I will change things and hope it is not too late. Play it now!

  • Solid point and click fun Mar 19, 2017

First off the art is stunning on every screen it's a joyfully twisted mess of macabre scenery and set pieces, the puzzle design is solid with several puzzles being rather interesting and rewarding wile a hand full bordered on frustrating. It's a good game for killing a few hours and I recommend it to any avid point and click fan.

This was a very interesting point click adventure. It is not a difficult as some other click point adventures as I have done but the storyline was more interesting and deep. The art is very good. If you are more engaged by the story around the mystery and not so much the difficulty of puzzles this is an exceptional game.

I really like this but I’m disappointed because I can’t get past the guard at the spider door. I’ve looked up walkthroughs and they all say he’s supposed to give me a map and shovel, but it never happens. I even played through from the beginning 3 times, and nothing.

While the graphics are beautiful the game lacks a map and you have to hunt around for instructions for the puzzles. It’s a lot of back and forth. Overall, the game is fun.

Made it all the way to the end only to learn this is about pushing the hateful message that suicide is a sin. If you are a “Christian” this game is for you. If you are anyone else including a true Christian, save your money.
