  • Programed with 8-bit love!! Unrequited, from lack of controller support! Apr 20, 2021

    By VeeSunGreen
I love this game, it is the perfect thing to play in a waiting room (when I forget to put my gameboy back in my purse), car ride or just at home relaxing. It has obviously been programed with love by a true retro geek! The only thing it lacks is controller support. Now that apple added support for xbox controllers I have been gaming with my phone clipped to a controller. I have also started to see the iPhone as a bona fide handheld gaming device. As much as I love this game, I hate touch controllers. So I have not played this game as much as I want and the Time playing is marred by bad controls. Please I beg of you!!!! Add controller support!! It cant be gameboy inspired without a D-pad!!

I totally love this offline game 💕 (dear users, if you're annoyed by the ads just off that data/wifi icon). I enjoyed the game a lot and when I got a new phone I installed this one and reached the last level but sadly I can't defeat the last boss hahaha so I uninstalled it but I recommend this one if you're looking for an awesome adventure ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Short, but totally worth a grab! Jan 3, 2021

This game will take you about 1-3 hours maximum to finish, but the game is extremely high quality with superb level design and engaging gameplay! There isn’t really a single low point in my opinion! Sure, it’s 99 cents, but what else would you spend 99 cents on? A candy bar? That’s not a very demanding price. Game developers have bills to pay too and they made a really great game. Sure, there are other phone games that provide more content for free... but... it’s 99 cents... that’s NOTHING! I have a few problems though. This is a bit petty, but the title is a bit misleading. It’s called Tiny Dangerous Dungeons; it’s plural even though there’s one dungeon... Also, I wish there was more content, this game’s concept and gameplay are so great and it’s definitely fine just the way it is, I just wished they expanded upon it a little more to make something really special! But at the very least, this game is proof that these game designers have talent and hopefully this game is just a test before these designers really get there feet wet with a much more ambitious game. Even if they aren’t interested in making a much bigger game, I will still look forward to whatever high quality game they have next! :)

I must say, this game is harder than it looks, but you still can enjoy it. I loved it, I couldnt get to one of the secret rooms though. I really want a second part. Recomend it 100% (it has ads but you can just turn the wifi off). Thank you.
  • OK not GREAT May 26, 2015

Just bought the game yesterday and beat the game today. Even at $0.99, I don't think it's worth it. Sword of Xolan is the same price, and definitely worth it's weight in gold. It's an OK game for someone looking for a little time to kill, but if you want to be immersed in an adventure, this is not it. PROS: -cool retro background music -controls not cluttered on the screen -various levels of difficulties -Game Center achievements -time trial for the brave and quick -hidden pathways for finding fruit treasures CONS: -frame lags, crashes, and freezes, especially in the level before the boss (running from 6+) -short (one of those quick games to pass by time) -boss level too easy -getting hit makes character jump 3 feet back (this is especially hard if you get hit near the lava by bats when getting the key for the boss door) -momentum causes landing (from jumping) to not be accurate so you must control the character if jumping between ledges -a bug where if a character goes near the furthest corner of the ledge, he is stuck there and can't move I only got 2 of the 4 fruits. I didn't bother trying to find the rest because the game kept crashing/freezing when I died. I had better expectations for this game. I hope they fixed the freezing/lags.

I am in love with this cute lil thief! Everything feels well polished and not too unfair (lava bats I hate you-). It's super cute as well as offline so if you're on a long trip or waiting for therapy this makes for a great time killer!
  • It’s great but very short Feb 12, 2019

    By AVerySadPlayer 😔
It’s was cool, easy, nice to play but it only took me about 1-2 hours (not even) to complete. Very fun and of course retro but there should be more than just one dungeon you have to wonder through..at least three of them would have been nice with each boss better tougher and tougher to battle, with new skills, enemies, and making each dungeon harder to compete. Love the concept of the game just wish there was more to it. Keep up the good work.

I'm always looking for games that remind me of Zelda, as I am a huge LoZ fan, but rarely do I see anything as close to home as Tiny DD was! Although it was short, it was also cheap. So that makes me think of how awesome it would be is Adventure Islands took a bit more time and make a larger sequel to this game! That would be AWESOME!!! I would totally buy a game like that for a higher price; even pay in-app purchases to go to new dungeons! (I've never payed in-app purchases so far) So please but this cheap game and enjoy the crap out of it like I did!! ^_^

A fun little game! It's not too short or too long, with just enough challenge for a mobile game; great whether you're just wasting a few minutes between activities or tackling it in larger sessions. The graphics and sounds are all charming and just the right amount of nostalgic and authentic to the green-and-grey style of the original Game Boy. Highly recommended!

There is this terrible freeze big glirtching it's way out of your once beautiful my smooth playing game, no it's so sad to play, the frames are lagging, and anytime you save the game (or attempt to), it automatically freezes, and takes a while to go back to "normal" (still glitching), please fix as I want my game back!

Pros: 1. Good exploration. 2. Beautiful GameBoy styled graphics. 3. Sounds and music are good. Cons: 1. Only 1 level!!!!!!! Took me 30 minutes. I was expecting at least 3 or 4 dungeons. 2. Only 1 song for the whole 30 minutes of gameplay. 3. Controls are ok, could be improved... Sometimes i wanted to press a button but ended up pressing something else. I guess something with hit detection? Bottom line, i would love if the game was longer and had more but this is just lame for a paid app.

It’s a great game!!!! The retro style really puts a feel and it’s a good game to play to pass the time. This isn’t an amazing idea or anything but maybe you should make it for Apple Watch. You could use the crown as a forward backward and the side button as jump. Hard press or swipe up would be menu. It’s just an idea but maybe it could work!!!

  • Fun platformer and totally worth the price Jun 7, 2021

    By MarsHammer
I really enjoyed this game. Fun retro platformer that isn’t too difficult (but also isn’t too easy). Only downsides are 1. The game is pretty short (think 1-2 hours) and 2. The controls are tough if you have big fingers (small buttons and you can’t move or resize them). But still a solid and worthwhile game!

Nice and Fun. It's quite a bit for what it is, a free mobile metroidvania of a slightly small scale. Controls are responsive. Jump is floaty. Graphics are nice on the eyes. I do have a few ideas for a sequel of sorts, primarily more bosses, more secrets, and some unique, definite, areas. In general, I want a bigger version of this game.

This game is very short, but it's a well made game that understands what makes a MV work.

Invokes feelings of Wario Land games and is really well made. Snappy controls. Great graphics reminiscent of Game Boy. Cons: Too Short. It's less "Dungeons" and more "Dungeon". Singular. It's one big dungeon with a bunch of rooms. But that's it. Given it's a Game Jam game I can't say I should have expected more content, but given the name I did. Better than Super DD, which abandons the free will exploration in favor of linear single room experiences. Also the ads are annoying.

It's a well made platform game with controls that actually work right. The downside is the ads. These can be disabled via purchase. Based on my research the game is very short, therefore I can't justify the price of removing the ads. Fun game with a good challenge.

Well designed, fun little game, but for some reason, my controls were very unresponsive, especially when trying to move and jump at the same time. Unsurprisingly, this led to a lot of deaths and some frustration, but the game was good enough that I played through anyway.
  • Great retro platformer, but very short. Apr 5, 2015

    By 8BZ
I'm a little torn on how to rate this one. The game is fun, well made and has decent controls. Where it really shines though is the pleasing, retro GameBoy feel. The game's creators did an excellent job of creating a game that really feels like it could have been released on the GameBoy in the late 80's. All that said, this game is SHORT. I finished it in one sitting. Took maybe an hour. Feels more like one level from a game rather than a full game. Worth 99 cents? Hmmm, that's debatable. I've paid 99 cents for games with more play value. If you are a child of the 80's, or a fan of retro platformers, you'll enjoy this game. Just don't expect much bang for your buck. Side note: I did not experience any of the bugs that others have complained of. Played smoothly on an ipad 4 from start to finish.

This game is a lot of fun. It's not a long game, but challenging in its own right. It's fun exploring, and overall a joy. One downside is it's touch screen controls only. I only wish I could use a Bluetooth controller, otherwise this game would be perfect.

The term metroidvania is misused these days. Let me explain: this is NOT a metroidvania. Everytime you get an item there is mostly only one path to go down. And the ads only make it worse. I almost don't want to go through a door because I will most likely have to watch an ad. By the way, why is the map so confusing and weird?
