  • Great app for Roman traveling! Nov 2, 2019

    By Ihatenicknames00000
Ive used the app to plan numerous trips, visiting Roman ruins and museums of all sizes. It is an invaluable tool, showing one by stars how recommended the place is and giving a good overview of towns and ruins so you know what to expect. Before downloading the app, I overlooked plenty of interesting places on my travels but not any more!

Filtering and finding anything you want is easy in this app, but you still need some time to appreciate all features. There's a ton of information - you can search or filter for monuments, cities, temples, and more. Many ancient texts are also there with places indexed.

This app is a basic digital map, very similar to the Harvard University digital atlas of Roman and Medieval Civilizations (which is free online), but unfortunately it only offers brief wiki’ish descriptions, and a link to the actual wikipedia page, but not a single photo. That’s a real let down. On the upside, if a site is mentioned in an ancient text, there is a link to that text, with the mentioning blurb excised under the source title, which is very a welcome plus. But, if you then proceed to open that text in full (another great option), you have to read through the entire text to find the above mentioned blurb. This should seemingly be highlighted for obvious reasons, but instead you are faced with random underlined names, etc that link you to other semi-relevant location pages. Overall - Definitely needs some streamlining - and no photos is a real bummer. Not yet worth $6.99.

I 'm visual person, so the maps provided in this app helped me to navigate through the app. Some features are nice too: it's easy to filter on countries or types of sites, so you can zoom in on what interests you most. Good job.

  • Nice surprise.... Sep 13, 2018

I love ancient history and this app is a nice surprise to me. It provides a quick access to lots of places I didn't know about, describing what’s left and the part it played way back when.

I live in the city of Lincoln which is full of Roman remains. The free version of this app lists none of them. It calls the city 'Col Lindum' by which I guess they mean Lindum Colonia. Even in Italy there is very little on lesser known places.

The app is too intrusive with ads to get you to buy their paid version. Every place of interest you click on spams you with a notice to upgrade to the fill version. I

There's lot of things to look for in this app. Take Roman forts and camps. The app helps to sort them, show where they are located in the today's map and the history behind each one. Nice content and an interface that does the nob.

This app made easier choice of places to see on your trip to europe. It lists several not so obvious places that used to be a part of the Roman Empire.

The app itself has so much information - no need to go elsewhere to have information about lots of sites within ancient Roman Empire. There are external links to other sites , so you can expand on the info provided here, but I imagine you won't need to.
