  • Great - but it needs a tweak. Jan 9, 2017

In level 4 when you start adding extra activities beyond forward, left and right to the coding, there is a problem. The codes for dig, swim, and eat should be placed on the stone, puddle, or leaf respectively. They can't be placed on a regular trail space or there is a problem with skipping codes. For example: When you have a straight line of spaces that include an obstacle, everything seems to work fine. But, if you have a path that includes a couple forward steps and then an obstacle to the left or right of a path square, you need to code for the turn before you give the dig, swim or eat code. You do not allow for this. You require the dig, swim or eat code in the last trail space and the poor caterpillar must have to sniff around and locate the obstacle on his own since no command is given for the turn. This is a wonderful game, much more practical and affordable for the average child than the actual code-a-pillar toy. You need to fix the problem. Then you need to advance to a full panel grid of squares and obstacles that will allow the child to determine their own path to the target. Then eventually the child should be able to write their code in a vertical list or right to left reading pattern instead of actually putting a command in each space on the grid. Great, but please, keep going. And hurry - my grandson is two - I need this ASAP!

A great teaching game with great potential... until introduction of the starred fields. That's an attention killer, having to watch the same 10 second animations over and over, especially if your kid makes a mistake towards the end. These animations are totally unnecessary, boring and lame. In summary the app 'Almost made it...'.

Amazing! My 4 year old loves this game and I love watching her figure out the puzzles and how proud she is when the Caterpillar makes it to the end of a challenge. It is cute, it is simple but so engaging and helps work her brain instead of just watching shows. Bonus: No ADS or in game purchases!! Though I would willingly pay for some more levels, because that's how much we love this.

I love using this app to teach coding at my k-5 school. It is very engaging and the music is great. I wish it had a reset button to reset it back to level 1. This way kids wouldn't be tempted to skip ahead after another student has unlocked a higher level.

Edit: looks like the reinstated the game, my kid finally got to try it, he loves it. Thank you FP The app does not work anymore. It just shows a screen saying the app moved and the new app doesn't have any of the old apps at all. This app is completely disfunctional now. FP killed it off. I was really looking forward to getting my kid into it.

We have two girls, 5 & 8. They both love the app. It's great that it gives kids the basic ideas behind coding in a playful way. Great visuals and soundtrack too.

Game is busted for latest version of chrome OS. The buttons no longer work, but I can scroll and read their privacy policy information, so I know the app is receiving user interactions. I want to have a like review for this app, but I cannot until they fix this problem.

If I could give no stars I would. I downloaded it to use with my little boy, and we couldn't get past the privacy statement as it wouldn't let me close it off the screen. And I have up to date electronics. VERY USELESS GAME!!! WASTE OF TIME!!!

Unfortunately couldn't get this to work as control buttons weren't visible on my 6 inch phone screen. Shame as game has a lot of potential to be a favourite. Please can this be fixed as others have the same issue.

Buttons cropped off the screen on my Samsung S10. Come on, developers! Handling different screen sizes and resolutions is the bare minimum when you're releasing a mobile app.
