  • Awesome quick game! Sep 19, 2021

    By WRS15743
I just accidentally discovered this game, and I love it! It’s perfect for when you want to play something quick when you have a minute here and there. The art/design is really cool, and the UI is easy/intuitive. And I’m finding the game, though simple to learn and easy to play, challenging in a way I didn’t expect. As things speed up, it’s surprising how your mind has to adjust to making faster decisions. It’s strangely addictive. I appreciate the fair price with no ads or IAP. I also like the sense of progression in the game. Even if you just play a little, you’re always making progress, and everything is saved. Thank you, developers, this is a great game!

The people who write negative reviews of this app are forgetting one thing: this is a mobile device. Considering that this is a $1 app on a mobile device, here's why this game is great: -Simplistic gameplay that requires development of the ability to quickly focus on multiple things at once -Very easy to control; there are two options (swipes): buy or short, and game modifiers (pills, phone call, stock tip, etc.) -Beautiful graphics (reminiscent of classics) and a fairly intoxicating score (mostly from the title screen) Here's why people are feel misled: -This game could have been an awesome trading simulation if it were slightly more complex, however, to even be a realistic simulation, you'd eliminate a significant number of buyers, who simply don't care or don't understand what they'd be looking at -Instead, what we've received is simply an addictive time waster, much like flappy bird, except that this app probably took one or two hundred hours to produce My verdict: -If you've got a spare buck, it's definitely worth paying for; if you're living paycheck to paycheck, (first, why do you have an iphone, get rid of your data plan) then it's a pass

The reason this app has three stars is because a bunch of people misinterpreted this game as a kind of simulation game where you build your own business; sorry, but its your fault. Nowhere in the description does it say anything about simulation. It says that you can rise up and become rich, but the fact that they mentioned "twitchy gameplay" before that should have triggered something in your brain that this is obviously not what you wanted. Anyway, in my opinion, The Firm is great. Its an extremely fast-paced game about buying or not buying stocks. When you lose, you can buy power ups to help you in the next try. The whole thing is very fun, and while a single gameplay may not last long, you always have next time to look forward to. At its current price of a dollar (and at its future price of two) I highly recommend it as it is very fun and replayable.
  • One of my favorite games to play! Jun 12, 2015

I was pleasantly surprised when I bought this game as I didn't expect it's atmosphere to be anything special. The graphics and music fit very well into the game and I wasn't expecting the incredible amount of detail put into it. I love the way the menu was designed and the little 'swip' of the pages when you turn them. However I wish it would save your progress mid game as sometimes I need to answer the door or phone while playing and end up losing the progress I have made. Other than that, the game is flawless and it has quickly become the only game I play. I can't wait to see what other games Sunnyside will produce!

Good game. Highly recommend. Often crashes when opening. Miscounts traders fired, which deflates high score. I restarted to confirm this and it said I had gone through 4 traders after the first attempt. Please fix and ADD COOL STUFF SOON. Not many games are like this, so make some other versions or add on to this to make it have more dimensions.

Like every one els, I thought this game was gunna be a stock sim type thing. I don't know if you have herd about it, but I thought this game was gunna be a steam game calls "Papers Please" Unfortunately it's not. If you want a decent arcade game with some nice looks, THEN THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU, but if you are like me and you want a puzzle sim type game, this isn't the game for you. When you actually get past the image of the game you wanted, this is a pretty fun and satisfying game, but this games biggest problem is you can't get past that image. If you got this game looking for something it's not, i fell you, but at lest try to accept it for what it is. And keep you're hopes up people, that game that we want may come out some day.
  • Too many bad reviews! It's a good game! Aug 25, 2014

    By Devi Wolf
Goes from near impossible to hard to somewhat hard as you get better at it but highly gratifying once you're on a roll. Okay too many people don't like the stress of thinking and reacting quickly and are giving this "challenging!" game meant for causing peoples brains to differentiate at a high rate of speed a bad name. It's something I've seen in IQ tests. It is hard yes but learning to play it and getting good is the point. NO ONE is going to be good at it right off the bat. Give it a chance and keep at it for a little while... It IS a good game and well worth 1$

This is one of the greatest games I've played on my iPad. It's addicting, the graphics are cool, and the idea is so simple but so great. I think the only way to improve the game is to add more twists and by that I mean say for example, those white notes. You can't just swipe left or right, you have to click the note a certain amount of times before you can continue. Just a change in the flow of the game.
  • People do some research! Aug 25, 2014

Everyone is complaining because this isn’t a stock trader sim. Read up on a game before you purchase then. No where did they say it would be a business sim. A quick look at the vimeo video would have shown you everything you would need to know about the game before you purchase it. The game is polished. The mechanic is simple. The difficulty is unforgiving and a joy!

This reminds me of "Papers, Please"--simpler but more upbeat and challenging in its own way. I think this game is great as-is, but I wouldn't mind seeing the following: 1) After the trader gets fired, how about if we see something different happen to him every time? I don't think he always has to jump out the window. 2) I'm tempted to say there should be a "leisure" mode--this endless version where you don't lose (or jump out of windows) and it's a brainless time killer. It stays at one steady speed. Mistakes deduct cash from your earnings. The goal for that kind of mode should be to earn an insane amount of money and unlock whatever stuff would be available in that mode--just like a game like "adventure capitalist."

I bought the game and thought it was something completely different than it was. I just now after I bought the game read the reviews were a lot of people are rating it high and complying about all the people like me who thought it was a stock som game. They say things like it didn't ever say it was a sim game or you should have done some research on it etc. but what I have to say to them is did it ever say that all you do is swipe left or right or did it show gameplay in the pictures and by the description how can you tell that it's not a sim game? 😠it doesn't make it obvious that it's that type of game where you repeat something over and over. I'm not usually he type of person that types bad reviews or complains but they are making clear statements and your saying that they're dumb and wrong for thinking that. 😡
  • There's a reason for negative reviews Dec 12, 2014

    By Who knows who...
Most negative reviews such as mine come from people who expected a little more depth from the game. Sure the description does not promise any strategy. But if u really want to put out a game based on fast reflex, name it something like dimple run or crappy bird. When u name it as the firm and put pictures of stock prices, u attract a certain kind of audience who expect some substance and completely loose audience who will indeed enjoy this kind of game. Swipe left and right at stock prices?!? Common. I would rather swipe left and right at ice creams or running chickens or racing cars or something fun like that...

This game was not at all what I was expecting it to be, I was expecting something that required more thought, and had different parts of the process besides just looking at red and green graphs (that's not how the stock market works) I played this game for a full 30 seconds before I got bored, eventually, It wasn't fulfilling to get to that 16x combo, it was just what happened. There was no real challenge besides different colored graphs. So if you wanna waste your money, play a boring game, and learn about inaccurate stocks all at once, then buy this game! (Just... Don't buy this game.)

The Firm is a great concept in gaming. It puts your hand eye coordination against your ability to remember and record important information. Sunnyside also used the power ups idea to give the game a little bit of extra fun. I'd also like the theme of a firm instead of something completely random. The game is great! I use my money wisely when buying game, and this is wise.
  • Get back to Work! Feb 12, 2015

    By MrQuizmo
The Firm V1.1 is a great way to flesh out an all ready solid premise. The simple gameplay of swiping fake stocks left and right is augmented well by reports that show up periodically to change up what to buy and what to sell. It also feels like the games speed has been adjusted, allowing for a longer sessions. This is a great game, and the new version is a solid update. Thanks Sunnyside!

In The Firm, you work as a man who's been recently employed, and has to sell stocks to receive promotions. The mechanics are fun, and don't push you so hard. You're going to be challenged, however there are no in-app purchases and there's some flexibility. I'm really glad I picked it up for a dollar, because this game is like a penny stock. It rises, and eventually it sold. A great hidden gem.
