Avoid Yellow skin OR have darker background May 19, 2022

    By Suman Giri
Hi, This game TAP AWAY is good for 60 and above. But one thing is, try not to use yellow skin color is very close to white. For bigger And harder games, one has to zoom out and that strains our eyes. If at all using yellow, have a darker background. Good game! Thanks! Sue

UPDATE 24 JUN 22: The game kept locking up on Level 60 before I could finish the level. After four lockups, I finally decided to change cube design. Changed to balls and was able to finish the level. Then on Level 61, still using balls, it locked up again. ---- I love playing this. However, on Level 21, the white arrows on the yellow and green blocks are almost impossible to see unless the puzzle is rotated to certain angles. Takes all the joy out of playing.

I really enjoy playing this game, the mechanics of it at least. It’s relaxing and satisfying to complete a level, and the sculptures the blocks make are fun to try and figure out. The skins are lackluster (except for like, 2 of them). There’s not enough variation in color and not much detail in the backgrounds; most of them are a solid color as though the sculpture is floating in an uncanny void. And MY GOD THE ADS. Depending on how quickly you solve these puzzles, you could run into an ad as frequently as every minute. And they’re not even good or entertaining ads! Most of them are created in an ad engine and thus don’t even accurately represent the actual game they’re advertising. They’re dumb, shallow and downright irritating. I have a feeling if they made the ads less frequent, they’d have more players, which would mean they could leverage for more expensive ad rates which means their advertisers would want to make their ads better quality to make the most of that slot - and then I might actually stick around for the ads rather than closing out the game almost every time one plays.

It's an ok game, but I have to agree with others. Too many ads that pop up after so many moves you make and you only have two options for zooming in: either all the way in or all the way out. While having a limited number of moves it makes it too easy to waste moves on hitting the wrong blocks because you're so zoomed out.

Definitely better to play on my tablet than my phone. The zoom feature is not nuanced at all -- it's either all zoomed, or no zoom, so it's hard to use on a phone. Also, there's no option to buy the game without ads, only options to buy coins, skins, etc. Having an ad pop up in the middle of a large puzzle is very distracting and takes away from the experience, IMO. If I'm going to be forced to watch an ad, at least let it happen between levels!

I like the challenge. You have to look for all the possible paths that each cube can travel. It is a fun game. Not only is the game challenging but also all the ads. After you have passed several levels you earn more ads! After even more levels it limits you to only 10 moves (you can do in 30 to 40 seconds) and then you get to watch about 2 minutes of ads. 10 more moves more ads. Most of your time you are waiting for the little X to appear so you can close that ad so you can see the next one. Sometimes they’ll even repeat an ad. 2 or 3 times.” And as the number of cubes increases, the speed slows down. The processor works harder and the battery goes down faster. I like the challenge of the game but it’s not worth waiting on all the ads.

Not much to say here that hasn't already been said, so I'll just summarize the main points. PROS -big levels with fun shapes (after some small "tutorial" levels) -relaxing gameplay -difficult challenges (timed and memory) -passes the time -has a zoom function -endless mode has exclusive rewards that are generally easy to obtain CONS -excessive ads (every minute or two, or 30-50 blocks cleared) -challenges get redundant -no variation in gameplay -zoom is either too close or nothing at all, and doesn't aim well -not hard at all, save for a mild difficulty spike early on where the levels just suddenly get bigger -little incentive to keep earning coins after about 60 levels (anything you can use the coins on has probably already been obtained) -unlockables are mostly lackluster -endless mode has a fake ranking system (you'll start at about #1.5m worldwide, and progress a handful of spots with every rank based on the number of blocks cleared, but if you put the game down for a while you'll find you somehow jumped up like 10k spots) -coins underutilized (cosmetics only, not for powerups almost at all) -collectibles necessitate watching ads So, there are a lot of cons. The pros are JUST good enough to play a level or two here and there, but the reward slope is so shallow and the gameplay so samey, it almost isn't worth the constant ads alone.

I really liked this game and played it a lot. Enough so that I even paid to remove the extremely excessive ads! You see, I have insomnia and I have found that if I play a game that occupies my mind but doesn’t make my think too much I can fall asleep easier. This game fit that bill! Until they did the latest update. They finally added a move count to the challenges so they are an actual challenge, which was needed! However, they also decided to make every level a challenge at the same time and added a move count to all of the levels. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal unless you’re playing this game while trying to fall asleep and you keep making moves that are wrong while you are falling asleep. If they would just make the move count optional that would change my rating.

I really enjoy the idea behind this game and it was developed very well; the graphics and interactivity are beautiful. Though, I wish it could be much harder, perhaps with different difficulty levels/ settings. I really like the limited moves option and wish that could be toggled on/ off as a mode for all levels. Perhaps even a timer? I also liked the idea of differently sized blocks and shapes as I saw on the preview video. There are a few too many ads as of now. Overall, though, it’s very well made and a great idea. I find it therapeutic to play. I look forward to any updates! Thank you!

This could and should be a fun and addictive brain game. However, there are 3 main issues with this app. First, the app itself is extremely glitchy. I keep getting the same error message in the middle of my game but there isn’t a problem (the game will let you complete it and then advance to the next one, so extremely annoying but harmless). Second, many times when rotating the puzzle it will go in an unrequested direction throwing everything off. Finally, I am on level 200+ and still waiting for the difficulty level to increase. Puzzles still too easy! All that said, I’m still playing as the game is a good one. I’m looking forward to the bugs being corrected so that I can increase my star rating.

I was loving the app but it has started freezing & shutting down and then it starts the Level I'm on all over again. It's a huge one Level!! Level 29. I've probably played it almost to the end about 6 or 7 times now!! AGH!! I've restarted my phone & I don't know what else to do. So frustrating! *Also, I paid $4 to remove ads & I've already had another ad. And I read someone else's review say my problem above was only solved for them by uninstalling & reinstalling which loses levels & payment!
  • Too easy Sep 13, 2021

    By Devil's Wife
I saw an ad for this that looked challenging and fun. I figured it would start off easy; it did. I expected it to get harder; it hasn’t yet. Unfortunately that means repetitive and boring. I just got the game yesterday so maybe I’ll play a little more before deleting, but I’m on something like level 115 already and it’s all the same. Even the “challenges” are the same. Another irritating thing is some of the skins are very hard on my eyes, some make it difficult to determine depth, some are difficult to “read” (as in hard to tell the arrows are arrows let alone which way they are pointing). The eyestrain is not fun at all so I end up going back to the original skin. I wanted to like this, I really wanted to like it. The potential is there. Maybe if more of it was like the ad where some of the blocks are different sizes and the player has to move (instead of remove) some blocks in order to remove others. Maybe if there were ways for the player to get stuck. Maybe if I hadn’t mastered it in 10 seconds… Another suggestion to the developers: please don’t ask for a review so soon after someone downloads the game. At least give the player time to get to more challenging levels first (this is a double hint). Note: I played offline. Thank you to those reviewers that warned about the excessive advertisements.

It is an interesting game. I would give it more stars except it goes to a "commercial" at every level. I am currently on level ~345. It takes less than 2 minutes to go between levels. If it would stay in game it would be great. But, sad to say it leaves to these ads so fast it drives me batty. So much for offline play...
  • PAID NO-ADS, TOOK MY MONEY THEN SAID “DIDN’T GO THROUGH May 28, 2022

    By Vickilovesheriphone
I paid twice the $4.99 to remove the ads, and twice, my money was deducted, then TWICE, I got the “Could not finish purchase, check your internet.” BULL$**T! (The only reason why I happened to do it twice is because I had forgotten that I did this a month prior and at the time I was playing a bunch of new games so I’d actually forgotten that I already purchased no ads) My Internet was completely fine and it still deducted the money from my account, and the ads were still there. I tried hitting “restore purchases,“ and it still didn’t work. I emailed them through their website and sent a separate email and still have gotten NO response. Finally I asked Apple for a refund and the problem with that is I can only ask for one refund so I’m still out five bucks! It’s very annoying to have the money taken out and still have to watch through their 50 million ads. If they would fix that issue I’d actually be pretty happy with the game. And there was another user who said the developers don’t seem to be reading these comments and I would have to agree that that is true. I don’t understand these app developers, once they start making their millions of dollars, they abandon the players who are making them rich, it’s absolutely despicable!!!!!!
  • Well that was anti-climactic Aug 25, 2021

    By TarnishedMyth42
So they had a feature in the new endless mode but if you collected in boxes is generally one entire layer and then a half another layer you got a free boost and it would remove an entire layer for you which is great. Like many of their other games they also have challenges to finish. One of the major ones is to finish and acquire perhaps five boosts in InBliss. This wasn’t too hard if you worked really diligently clearing boxes. However they now want you to watch an ad for every boost that to fulfill the boost challenges. And now you have to have 8-13 boosts per that Boost Challenge. You now have to watch a crap ton of ads just to fulfill this challenge i’m getting all these boosts and endless mode. I’m not happy about this, because there’s already a crap ton of ads that come up every time you play a new level, and every time that it switches to a new layer on the boxes this is gosh dang ridiculous. Not cool. At all. IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND DISLIKE THE ADS, put your phone in airplane mode or disable WiFi for this specific app. It will help cut down the ads unless you want to intentionally watch an ad to skip something.

Extremely chunky and unusable interface. I am using a 6.5" phone interface don't work because you can only turn one way and zoom don't work properly. One last thing the game keeps becoming unresponsive, I tried shutting all other apps and 4GB of free RAM(60% of available memory) still the game locks every 5-7 min. Only option is to restart (game not phone)
  • This used to be a 5 star app. May 19, 2022

I’ve played this game for a couple years; since before it was “3D”. It was simple yet challenging and quite addictive. L O V E D it. And then the upgrades started. ‘Zoom’ is a new feature; except it’s either in or out without any in between. You can see the block you’re tapping but not its path. Very frustrating. ‘Moves’ are also new; which is a definite drawback for people like me who don’t have steady hands. There’s no option to choose this feature or not, unless you’re content with the boring (and unchallenging) infinity cube. Finally - and this is the most infuriating part of all - do not click out of the game for any incoming messages, notifications, phone calls, etc. When you switch back, your entire progress resets; regardless of how far you were in the puzzle. It’s heartbreaking to struggle with the disadvantages to 275 moves into a 300+ move piece and have to take a phone call knowing it was all in vain. I reached out via email to Popcore over an issue with the ads early on, received a generic response, replied to them, and never heard back. Unfortunately, do not recommend this game any longer.
  • Great Concept, Poorly Executed Jul 29, 2021

    By LuvWordsBest
I was enticed to get this game after viewing an ad for it in a different 3D game I enjoy. The ad showed a very challenging multi tiered block which would be definitely be so much fun to play. The actual game however starts with a single block, then 2, then 4 and so on which is okay to get you familiar with how to move the blocks. But after 20 levels it’s still at this ridiculously easy puzzle and boredom is setting in. It reminds me of the parking cars game where you have to mindlessly go through 25-50 stupidly simple lots that are no fun at all in order to get access to one that’s a little challenging and fun to play. And the frequency of ads is quite maddening, I think more so than any other game I’ve tried. So this game is getting deleted for me. Such a shame because the potential is definitely there. Note to developers: I’d gladly pay $$ for the challenging games you show in your ads you conveniently place in other games. And I’d even pay an additional fee for an ad free version. I’m sure others feel the same. Is that concept even considered these days?

Pretty much like all the other reviews. The constant ads every 5 clicks or so is really annoying. I understand having them between games or if you stop playing in the middle of a puzzle and return to it, but it is too much. Also, the zoom feature is terrible with no way to adjust it so it makes playing this game on a phone vs computer horrible. However, it is a fun game and pretty addictive.

A lot of long ads. Figure for every 30 seconds of play time, I'm dealing with 45-60 seconds worth of ads...not a good ratio. And they pop up every 5-6 moves, very distracting when you're trying to solve a big puzzle. The zoom and control is either full or nothing, no medium...makes it very difficult to play. Graphics are simple, but good. Nice puzzle but not great on a phone with the zoom issue.

Living a super stressful life right now this gives me just a few mi sites when I have a break to not only sit and relax physically but keep my mind from stressing about what I have going on mentally too! I enjoy not having to think super hard but it keeps my mind occupied enough it doesn’t wander to the multitude of worries, things I still need to do, & relationships I have that are suffering as I try to make the best and do my best I’m often not given any credit for it this helps me stay sane in my super insane world. Thanks y’all!

With each update the game has gotten better. I am currently on level 411. My only request is that a lot more different arrangements of the blocks are created. I don’t mind solving a pattern 2-3 times as it gets more difficult but the game gets boring when you see the patterns pop up so much. Otherwise I love the game!

I downloaded this app the other day and I really like it so far! I know a lot of people say that it’s easy, but I honestly don’t mind that. I think that it would be great if, in a future update, the developers could add more layers in the blocks (like in the ads on Instagram that I saw). Also, I’ve already collected all of the skins. I absolutely adore the little fish skin and I think this app would become even more successful if they add different cute animal skins! I love how the game works as well when it comes to collecting new skins and all that, so don’t change that. Overall, good game if you’re anxious or hyper and need something to focus on to help calm you down :)

This is a great game to get mentally lost in during the day and an even better one to play when trying to sleep. Almost like counting sheep. I do have to say that there's way too many adds, which do interrupt you and the zoom feature is really messed up on a phone. That's why I have to give 4 out of 5 stars. But, other than that, this game is very relaxing. ♡♡♡

I read other reviews before installing. Even though they mentioned ad frequency and zoom trouble, I thought I'd give it a shot. Level 11 is the 1st level you have to zoom on. This function needs tweaking. It would be much better if you could slowly zoom in instead of 4x. * Thanks for the update! Glad to have the option for ad removal.

I honestly was considering buying the game… It is a great concept, and I was greatly enjoying it. When the pieces are zoomed out, you have complete maneuverability in every direction. But to zoom in, you can only zoom in all the way, and then maneuverability is nonexistent. If you could zoom in a little bit, or if you could move it up down in all directions while zoomed in, I would be purchasing this game Also, too many ads too soon. I love the updated play. The levels are challenging and interesting. I can’t stop playing. It’s way more fun than before. I do feel there are way too many ads, they are inserted too quickly and break up the flow. Also when I get stuck I would like to use the bomb but can’t figure out how to control where I wish to utilize it. It just seems to go wherever it wants. I have looked but was unable to find any instructions on its use. You seem to make it impossible to leave a review due to no choice of nickname. I’ve gone through 25 names so far. Sigh

I have been playing this game for a few days now & playing all the different options too (I.e. challenge, infinity, regular). I do not like so far is when playing the infinity portion b/c you can blow through level after level but I spend more time watching ads then I do actually playing the game! So maybe if you could change it where it plays an ad after every 5-10 level changes? I know the ads are a necessity but when you get more ads then play time that just seems backwards which I why I gave it a four stars in stead of five!!

I recently added Tap Away to the games that I play almost daily. It’s not horribly challenging to play and it’s great if you don’t have much time to play. My only complaint ( and I have the same complaint about parking jam) is that there are SO MANY ADS. Sometimes I quit playing, not because I don’t have time, but because I can’t stand to see 1 more ad. I would gladly pay some $ to have the ads disappear. Other games have options like that, you should try it too. That’s the only reason why I didn’t give you 5 stars. You deserve 5, but man those ads!

Its a really great game trust me, i'm on like level 203. The only reason i'm rating it 4 instead of 5 is because whenever I play, it either freezes up for a little or freezes up completely and I have to restart the whole level. I'm not 100% sure that its the app and not my phone but when I play and it freezes I can just reopen it. I do have a lot of apps on my phone though and it could just be my phone but i'm not totally sure about that. I'd consider looking into this issue:) -Faithful Player<3

  • Update killed it Apr 23, 2022

Please improve the controls. Zooming in and out by pinching or spreading 2 fingers is fine. Spinning by swiping with one finger is fine. Please add the ability to scroll by swiping with 2 fingers. The play areas get quite large, so it is hard to tap the block you want when zoomed out and the blocks are tiny. When you zoom in so the blocks are large enough, you can't see the blocks on the outer edges.

Obviously it gets repetitive after a while, but that’s to be expected with a simple concept. The reason this isn’t at least four stars for me isn’t anything to do with the gameplay. It’s the fact that the X button to close many of the ads is WAY too small for someone with a disability like mine. Most of the time in most games I can tap the X button without issue, but this one I usually end up somehow pulling up the App‘s App Store page. I also noticed that if the app window loses focus (such as by pulling up the app manager), it will also pull up the App Store page. I think they are trying to cheat the algorithm so it counts as interaction, which is really not fair to the user. If I want to close the ad, let me close the ad!
  • Could be great.... May 31, 2021

    By abcdeflkhxub
Number one. This game has way too many ads, and I mean ridiculously so. After every single gameplay, it goes to a commercial. Number two. I’m trying to work my way up through the higher levels to see if it gets any better, it does not. I’m on level 281 and still playing with 24 cubes. Number three. The only challenging part of this game is when you play the challenges. But the problem is the higher up in the levels you get the further away the challenges are. Sometimes it’s 25 to 30 levels before you get a new challenge. Number four. This concept is a good one, and could make for a really interesting and enjoyable game if the developers put some real thought into it.
  • Love solving the puzzles, but........ May 21, 2022

    By WeWashingtons
So yeah... I do love playing. When I finish one puzzle I immediately want to do another, then an hour has passed. Good right? First, the zoom function needs help... it goes from tiny to mega zoom...no in between. I’m on an iPad btw. Seriously you can’t do better than that? You don’t play your own game? I can’t stand adds. If I play a game and like it, I always opt to play ad free and will pay the $2.99 or $4.99..that’s as much as I’ll spend. When I do opt for ad free, that should mean no adds at all. If you want to make us sit through an add for something that will give me a free bomb, I get that. But the fact that I solve a puzzle, don’t f’ing make me sit through some ad to get it. I earned it you greedy f’ers. 3 stars for you!!!!

I’m not sure how they do it but to pack so many ads into such a short time is a miracle. There are so many ads that it causes crashes and slow game play! This game has revealed a new, much more fun app that has me keeping track of all the ads that show up, then go to the App Store, then give poor reviews of those apps. Such a great time! Much more fun than actually playing this game! At some point though don’t you think that if other apps are buying ad time on this app, that eventually they’ll all listen to us after we rate them poorly, and not place so many ads in such a short time? Honestly this type of ad revenue doesn’t seem like a good business model and bound to collapse any minute

  • Well that was anti-climactic Aug 25, 2021

This game is fun. Honestly. But the ads are frequent and intrusive, and a lot of the "skippable" ads can sometimes take up to 15 seconds to actually close out of. In addition, the size of the puzzles, while satisfyingly challenging, make the boxes extremely small to try to tap, and the zoom in feature is finicky. If there were like a slider bar that controlled zoom and added a panning function, it would make the game much more enjoyable.

I had really loved this game as a fun easy way to keep occupied on my downtime. Definitely not a fan since the updates with the 2 option zoom feature. The game is either too zoomed out to the point the blocks are so tiny you can’t see the arrows or so zoomed in that you can’t even see the full playing field. Additionally, since there is no fixed axis at which the whole puzzle spins around you are constantly losing your location in the puzzle as you zoom in and out trying to see the whole picture. Between these annoyances with actually playing the game and the near constant pop up ads, my phone starts to over heat within 5-10 minutes causing it to glitch further, and really makes it seem like more trouble than it’s worth. Really wish they could fix these issues as that would go a long way towards making this game enjoyable again.

I really like it, but there are only 60 levels then it just randomizes them to keep playing. That includes the 5 tutorial levels and a few more that take just a few seconds to complete. There are new challenge levels every so often but you have to complete levels you've already done to get to them. Not worth the $4 to remove ads. Too bad I didn't realize it had so few levels.

I really wanted to like this game, but the continuous ads are so frustrating. The zoom feature is ridiculous and several of the colours (like yellow with white arrows) are nearly impossible to see. When I hit RETRY I expected to start the game over, but instead I get two moves. If the option to purchase without ads, I would definitely be interested. But until all the bugs are worked out, I can't spend hours trying to solve one puzzle.
  • The ads kill this game!! Feb 27, 2022

    By unenlightened zenmom
This is a good game. But it’s not fun to play. It’s bad enough that the game is interrupted with ads every 35 moves (I counted) but the ads glitch! They freeze the screen or shut down the game entirely. Then you have to start the level all over. So, ok, I like the game enough to pay $2.99 to opt out of the ads. But every time I try to make the purchase the game tells me it “can’t complete the purchase” and to “check my internet connection and try again later”. My internet is connected just fine. I’ve tried again later and still no joy (funny how I seem to be connected when they’re showing the ads). I will try several more times over the next two days. If I can’t delete the ads I’m deleting the app. It’s just not fun to play when the game is in this condition.

Interesting way to spend some time. There is a major issue with the game freezing up or slowing down and getting choppy. Sometimes you can close out and restart but other times it stays frozen. Had to Uninstaller then reinstall to try to unfreeze the program. Now I'm back to square one and it doesn't recognize the level I was on 136 no my purchase of no ads.
  • Good game , BUT… Sep 9, 2021

    By TheEraserGI
I enjoyed the game in the beginning. However, I am now stuck. I have beaten all of the Challenge Levels (there are 200) and one of the challenges after each of the regular levels is to beat a Challenge Level. Can’t beat what isn’t there. Also, as stated by others who LOVE the game (which I do), there are tooooooooo many ads. And the levels are redundant. Another thing I have noticed is the developers are quiet. In most games when people make comments, the devs respond…not in this one. I saw this in a different game by another company. The devs were focused on a game (or coding a new one) that was the real money maker for them and were letting the one I was playing fall apart. They finally shut it down. I foresee the same thing with this one. DEVELOPERS - if you are actually reading these comments, you need to do something positive for this game or lose your players.

Liked the puzzles but not the random ads that pop up after each level. Once you reach a certain level, ads pop up in the mist of playing, often times you have 7 or more ads within one level. And if you have to retry the same thing happens again. So in essence, during one level you can see more than a dozen ads pretty much making this game unenjoyable.

I played the free version and it was great... Well except for the annoying ads. I could stop and start a level later and it saved just fine..... So I bought it.... Now no ads but I can't save the game... The lower levels were just fine but now I am at the higher levels and I don't have time to to finish a whole level at one time... So I have to start over.... Buyer beware.

This isn't a puzzle game. When you tap a cube that is blocked by another cube, it doesn't lock in place next to that cube obstructing it—it returns to its original position. This means that you just have to rotate the whole shape, tap all of the visible cubes facing you, then rotate the shape again and repeat until the level is finished; no puzzle-solving involved in the slightest. Also the ads were super overwhelming. This might be the first free game that made me feel like I deserved a refund.
