This is the first review I ever written. For one, as all launches goes the game has a few bugs to be ironed out. Aside from that and occasional crashing, this game has one of the best Tales of stories I have seen in a very long time. It takes the standard Tales formula and turns it upside down in how the world and its characters work. As the name flavor text would suggest, the world truly is full of blood and sin. The character interactions are a sight to behold, the artwork is beautiful and the music is so relaxing and tense when it needs to be. Though the gameplay isn’t like the standard real-time battles, instead opting for turn-based gameplay it still holds a lot of challenge and makes you consider your team composition and strategies. The game does seem to value SSR characters and Memoria Stones as opposed to SR as there is a stark difference between the two but with enough crafting the game should be relatively smooth sailing. You also get to choose your first SSR or SR character to offset this. All in all as a Tales fan, this game so far has hooked me in with its story telling, and the clear love that went into making this game a Tales title that can honestly stand on its own two feet as a main stream title. If you can, give the game a chance!

I play a lot of "free to play games" and this is the first one that legitimately feels free to play. The prices on the in game currency is steep compared to others I've played but the amount of currency you build from just playing the game beats all the others by a mile. Some games you spend 30 to 50 dollars for 2 "multi summons" , but this game just by playing steadily for the whole week I'm able to afford 2 multi summons a week from PvP rewards. Highly recommend

Only put as 5 stars because that’s all it seems to want to show. TL:DR game is gonna tear your wallet up. After playing this game for a few hours to get a feel of it. Between the story mode, arena, and phantom castle, I can tell this is going to be a major p2w game. I’ve done 5 x10 summons and got one SSR which was a duplicate. Meanwhile in the arena I go up against people with a team of 6 and stand no chance. Which brings me to the other problem. SR characters are barely viable already even early game. In chapter 2 I had a level 30 SR character awakened twice and it was barely able to kill the npc all the while still taking loads of damage and almost dying. I shouldn’t be struggling an hour into the game with two lvl 30+ SSR characters and two over leveled SR characters. Either the npc needs to be rebalanced or the characters need to be severely buffed. It’s insane to be hitting a hard wall an hour in and then have to rack up 2,500 gems to be able to summon with the SLIGHTEST chance at getting a character that could even moderately help me. I know this game is still in its first 24 hours but these problems will need to be addressed or the player base will suffer bad.

I really like the game but its been having problems where some of the spirts dont show up sometimes. I also had a weird pink flash of lights and sprites also flashed pink. Since the season 2 story the came out some of the command boards for digimon will show pink or black. Besides that i play the game almost every day for the story. Update, the game work fine, two, the store and clash battle and other stuff works fine but the summon digimon option dose not work everytime i tryed it closes app

I absolutely love this game! Everything about it! If you are a Tales Of fan you’ll really appreciate all the subtle nuisances that go into the scenes and system of this game. I’ve played nearly every Tales Of game starting with Symphonia being my first. I’m a hardcore fan. This game scratches all those takes of itches you want in a mobile game. Fun combat, you have to actively think about. A creative new story line, with great voice acting (at least in Japanese which is how I play) and memorable new characters. For tales of fans you’ll love how easy it is to get some of your favorite characters from pretty much every game in the franchise! Other nuisances they included which any tales of fan will love: Attachments, cooking meals, post battle banter from characters on your team (just like in a real Tales game), costumes, and new and updated look for some of the older characters! Totally recommend the game for anyone that likes JRPGs in general, or Tales of specifically. It makes it very easy to get into and understand the various systems of the games. Overall 5 stars absolutely love it so far!

I would love to recommend this game, but it keeps crashing for me, and I haven't even got to organize my team yet. I did the first summon you get from the tutorial, but after that, the game crashes. It will even stop stuff in the background, like YouTube. Until this is fixed, I won't be able to put a higher score on this game.

The recent good reviews saying this game is F2P friendly are either crazy or bought. A single 10x Digimon pull is $30. Once you get all the rubies from the story the only way to reliably get more is PvP.. which starts out faceroll easy and then becomes impossible at high rank. And the payout is on a weekly basis. So if you didn't save up in advance for a banner you're either screwed or you have to pay $$$. Too bad I'm not a whale; the gameplay is fun and powering up my Digimon feels rewarding.

  • Good game plagued with bugs and HORRIBLE customer support Jul 29, 2020

This game has a lot of potential. But it’s plagued with a lot of bugs that constantly(in my case every 20-30 min) crash the game. Now this can be overlooked at times. But a lot of the crashes happen when you are trying to collect your rewards. I lost multiple summon tickets because of this. And when I tried to get in contact with customers support they just responded with Japanese websites. I’m playing in the US it was released in English...how is there no customer support available for this. Even the links they gave me don’t help when translating. Their just an FAQ without the option to talk with a rep. Bugs can be overlooked most of the times if developers actually help their customers. The fact that they have it setup in a way that if a bug costs you multiple items, then you’re just out of luck. That’s just laziness and greed on the part of the developer. EDIT: so the developer responded to this review with the same links I received before that didn’t solve anything. If that doesn’t show how incompetent they are I honestly don’t know why will.

I’m a fan of the Tales of series, so decided to give this game a try. I was enjoying the story, but noticed very quickly that this game is very dependent on you spending money to progress. I actually got very lucky and managed to snag a few SSR characters with the free crystals and tickets I got. However, I found myself hitting walls and not being able to progress. This became a constant theme when I tried my hand at the arena and the raids. At least with the raids, it’s not solely dependent on your team, but being pit against paying players who wipe my arena team in a few turns just became frustrating. Even more frustrating was the constant errors I would receive while trying to play or it just outright crashing all together. Eventually I decided to re-download the game, hoping it might help, but all my data was lost and having to start all over from scratch was the last straw. I wish I could have seen how the story progressed, but the constant frustrations just isn’t worth it.

So far so good... We shall see. *updated* One week later and I've played little else. Excellent game, good events, I'm free to play and it has not negatively effected me, to be honest the in game real money purchases are extortionate which inadvertently prevents pay-to-win toxicity which is great! Really enjoying hatching, raising, awakening, digivolving and battling all the classics and many new, powerful digimon. I hope this curve of interest is maintained as I am going to give you a 10/10

This game is fun in so many mays, from the digimon, the storyline, and the mechanics is pretty straightforward. Only problem is, once you reach a high level and cleared so many missions, the way to get digirubies (which is use to get new digimon) becomes more difficult. So, hopefully they have much easier ways to get digirubies that doesn't involve overpricing digirubies that are for sale.

  • Great game Jul 17, 2020

    By blazwolf
This is a pretty good game not gonna lie. However there are a lot of issues. The first is the chat. One of the beginner quests requires you to post in chat but you can never get it to load. The second is the insane amount of heat it causes my device. The third is the lag after you win a fight. The fourth is the inability to actually play the power up quests to level up heroes and memoria. Keeps saying time is up. THe game is pretty p2w since you need constant duplicates to both awaken heroes AND ascend memorias. There needs to be a better alternative. The arena exchange is great alternative to it but it’s still a crappy one. There’s also no point in grinding in raids if the only reason is to get training books for artes where you’re only able to get 2-3 at a time. You could’ve easily made that into a quest stage like the power ups and gold. The power difference between sr units and ssr is way too huge. Let’s not got into stats of the sr units since it’s a huge wall where it’s near useless even in story mode. The fact that only ssr units can do over limit artes is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that majority of artes do only less than 20 hits. Yet you give us an achievement where we have to do a 75 hit combo. That’s seriously forcing specific ssr units to be used for that when the drop rate is so low. Please balance sr units and fix the bugs with chat, power up quests, and make raids actually worthwhile.

I love this game. Only critiques I have would be to maybe offer Digimon in the gatchas that stay rookie champion etc that way we don't need SDQ just to fulfill dungeon teams. Another criticism is to make it more free to play or make it more worth buying rubies in shop. The price of rubies for what you get is awful.

  • Great Until Raids Jul 16, 2020

    By Luv2Pull
I was captivated by the story and couldn’t put the game down until I reached the point that I opened Raids. At this point I had a fair number of SR units and 3 SSR at lvl 30 with lvl2 skills. I entered a normal raid thinking it would be rewarding (Prizes are split based upon contribution percentage). I got 2 rounds in before the monster was vanquished and ended up 6 of 8 participating. I got 4 bronze chests (oh wow, oh wow). So I started a raid and asked for assistance (normal raid btw). I went from 1st to 5th before the end and that was of 7 participating. I got 1 silver chest for hosting and 4 bronze (silver had the only real valuable item). My point is that the chest rewards give the highest value to the strongest in the raid (1 premium for 1st place and 1 premium for last strike) without limiting the CP of the team based on raid level. The paying players will always get the better rewards by spamming weaker raids which propel their stats, skills, open harder raids, and give special enhancing materials that are very difficult to come by. With resets being available with cash shop currency in arena as well this gives paying players a massive advantage that will leave everyone else in the dust very shortly. The story is great, but it is not involved enough to keep this player coming back for daily play.

Fun Game. Their are problems that need fixing though. The main one for me is how often the game just automatically closes, most of the time on the summoning menu. This game would also benefit by giving players the ability to choose which target to attack with the attack of their choosing. It's too random as is.

The game is great, but every time i try summon feature it crashes instantly, i used to manage the summon, but since last update is impossible. The game crashes after playing 10 ~15 min, then i need to initiate and wait the loading screen, the good thing is that battles and summons are saved when it happends and pvp and digimon summons arent lost. I still play because I like digimon and I don't bother grinding for things on daily missions, but I don't recommend it otherwise.

  • Mixed feelings Jul 18, 2020

    By Majestaat
Story is good. Visuals are nice. Voice acting is great. Once you learn how to combo properly, combat can be quite satisfactory. All in all, the production values of the game show, no doubt. Gacha is a big issue. Rates are pretty decent, and you even get to pick a free SSR. However, only these maximum rarity characters have access to ultimate techniques, which are crucial components to you strategy, the performance of your team and ultimately how much fun you can have with the combat mechanics. This puts all other, lower rarity characters at a very serious disadvantage, and it becomes noticeable pretty early on, in both PVE and PVP. So, while you can theoretically access everything as a F2P player, your luck at pulling SSRs could really make or break the game for you. Other issues are chat, which takes a very long time to load, only to crash, usually. Third issue would be with the friend list, to pick characters to help your party. There’s no way to refresh it, making it very clunky to use. I’ll try to stick for the story, but other aspects of the game make it really hard to enjoy for me if I want to remain F2P. Can’t say it’s a bad game, but there are definitely many, better gacha games out there.

Easy to obtains rubies as long as you grinding, especially in PvsP. BUT this game crashed A LOT in summon menu, kinda ironic since its a gacha game. At first i thought it was my old phone cant handle the game but even after i got brand new smartphone, well, still crashed, even if not too often. 2-5 times pulls in gacha and boom, kicked out off the game.

  • GIANT MONEY GRAB Aug 17, 2020

    By Ciel Leivahnt
But honestly I can’t give a game that wants your money so badly a good review. I can ignore the issues constantly and constant updates needed but when I do a 10x pull TWICE in a row and don’t see a single rainbow unit but the game expects me to get TWELVE of a Rainbow unit to maximize each unit or WORSE get TEN rainbows to trade for ONE unit enhancement in which case you’d need ONE HUNDRED rainbow units (if your as unlucky as this game already makes you) to maximize ONE. Come on Bandai don’t mess with a longtime fan like this. And on top of all this mess, the rewards for logins in each day are minuscule and finishing each story level only gets you 30 gleamstones (summon currency) and you need 2500 to summon for 10. That’s EIGHTY THREE missions per 10x summons, and again at the cruddy rate you get a rainbow, you’ll NEED 10x summons to have a glimpse of a hope at ONE rainbow. Come on now, this is how you wanna treat fans? Everyday I see a drop in the amount of friends and clan members leaving this scam.

Regardless of the review , I love this game. As I’m just now getting into the tales series , just seeing a new take on it is really great and ive been playing non stop . My gripe isn’t the bugs or the chat not working ..... it’s the fact that they don’t provide you with any quality of life . It’s constant click next , hit retry , add support . Nonstop . It’s 2020 , you literally just added auto repeat into alicization which also needed quality of life but you finally added after months . Don’t let this be like that game where we have to wait for you ! Do what your community wants instead of trying to keep players on your game all day manually playing everything . Most people will for raids or other content !! So until a quality of update comes , this game isn’t anything more than 2 stars , only doing 3 cause I love velvet so much .

  • Don’t get invested in this game. Jul 27, 2020

The makers of this game are basically liars. They keep doing maintenance without fixing problems and wind up causing more, promise compensation without giving it, didn’t know how to write/translate rules for PVP when it began and screwed many people out of rewards that they said they’d give. I usually spend a little money here and there on phone games, but thank god I didn’t spend any on this one. The game would have been great if the company wasn’t so self centered and dishonest. So like the title said, don’t get invested in this game, the company sure as hell isn't going to get invested in the player.

  • Horrible game plagued by bugs! Jul 25, 2020

    By Reveiwwer
This game has some of the craziest bugs I’ve seen and what’s worst is that I just recently saw a post on their Facebook with them claiming that they supposedly “fixed all bugs” yet my game is plagued with them! For example, there are these power up quest you get items to level your character with, such as with any game that’s similar, however even though the quest themselves change, I’ve not once been able to play any of them?! It just keeps saying “time is up”, another bug I have is that I can’t play hard mode, to play hard mode on chapter one, you need to pass chapter 2.6.1, but I’m on chapter 3 and I’ve already passed not just chapter 2, but also chapter 2 side stories. Oh and for whatever reason I also can’t use chat. I don’t think I’ll play much longer, for it seems like they live by their motto... “Live. Even if it’s a sin” Their sin is not caring about the players, such a shame a company like this would scoop so low.
