  • Get Rid Of Annoying Robo calls Mar 28, 2019

    By tisable
If you have T-Mobile service and get scam, and Robo calls, this is the app for you. I have tried everything to stop Robo calls. Everything was unsatisfactory. Until I tried the T-Mobile call ID App. It stopped Robo and scam calls in there tracks. T-Mobile already identifies a good percentage of scam calls free. With this app there a long gone memory. You can have scam call not even reach your phone. There’re blocked on the network before ever reaching your phone. You also have the option of sending them straight to voicemail if you feel that they may be mislabeled. The app also identifies callers by name like your home caller ID. The app works fantastic. Easy to use and very practical. I recommend to anyone with a high volume of scam or Robo calls.

Great start for giving consumers control over there phone calls however i think you can do even more. I would like to have this expanded to text messages as well. Also I would like to have it where the system can identify where the call originated from or where the call is regastered to like where the person lives. Also add a report option to report that the a call was categorized incorrectly or the caller id info is wrong. This way theses issues are fixed and new calls made by that phone number would show up correctly to other users. Also add a option to record phone calls for calls that come in that are not on my contacts list. This way if a call is spam legal authorities would have something to use agenst thesss people to put a stop to unwanted calls. Needs to be expanded to include text messages as well

The app has bugs in it. Sometimes it blocks things that shouldn’t be blocked, and while it says it provides the user with unlimited reverse number lookup, there is no option to do so. It would be more accurate to say that it identifies unknown numbers, using some kind of reverse directory in an automated fashion. But it does not work all the time, and many, if not a majority, of the blocked/restricted calls still have no caller ID. It has blocked calls from people in my contacts that I never set to have been blocked, prevents me from getting important texts from my pharmacy, and calls from companies I do business with. While a great in principle, too much is automated, with not enough options for the user to customize their own settings

I am super surprised at how well this works & I’ve only had a day. It would have been nice to have more in depth information regarding the different parts included in the app (meaning on T-Mobile Tuesday App, where it was introduced yesterday July 29th). There are parts you cannot access/use unless you upgrade. However, the caller ID & Spam Call part works!!!

  • Why does this app block your friends cell numbers? Jul 27, 2020

    By Themusicman08
So I’m looking at a lot of reviews about this app from one year ago. How is it that these reviews were written over one year ago and this app was just recently released as of last Friday? Think about that one as the review goes on. Back to this review. It’s great if you want to stop scam calls. But it’s bad if the app picks up your friends cell numbers. I’ve had to call T-Mobile twice. Once on the day of this apps release, and twice today. So I guess you could say three times. At any rate, I’ve had to give the representatives my friends cell phone numbers so that way they could be reported as not being spam or scam calls. As of this review I have uninstalled the app until these issues are fixed. I also think if this app is supposed to be free, we shouldn’t have to get the premium features such as sending things like charity calls, survey collars, prison/jail collars, and other collars to voicemail. Those options should be free to us. The app works very well for those of us who use voiceover. But, this app also needs improvement and learning better artificial intelligence and machine language. It needs to differentiate scammers from your friends list.

The app is pointless and it's basically just a way for T-Mobile to upsell you on premium features. All the free features in this app already happen automatically on T-Mobile's network without the app. It shows a lot of blocked "scam likely" calls that went to my number before thr app was ever installed. To actually blcok numbers manually, you need to pay for premium!! The only benefit I got from installing this was an easy button to turn on Caller ID now that they've made it free for everyone.

I was excited that T-mobile were introducing these features. I received an email announcing "Say goodbye to scam calls" and went to install the App. It was already installed on my phone without my knowledge or permission. Some of the other reviews said you need to pay - however the email I got said "Now that Sprint and T‑Mobile have merged, our network is bigger and better than ever before, with advanced spam-blocking protection built into its core. So customers can be better protected—at no extra charge." I could not login into the App... got a message saying "could not authenticate" call 611.

Wow! I've been a t-mobile customer for years, and they keep charging us money with false advertisements. It's definitely time for me to say goodbye to t-mobile! I'm very disappointed about their customer care! They honestly don't care! This shield was installed with the last update! Without our knowledge. Shame on them! Now I've really lost my trust in T-mobile! They get 0 star better yet, no star!

  • No more spam calls! Jan 30, 2020

    By Sydrine
I literally forgot what this app was, so I clicked on it and realized that a bunch of the numbers I’ve blocked due to spam robocalls claiming I’m on the ‘fbi watch list’ have been blocked. Last time I remember one going through was like two weeks ago (2-5 times a day). It appears the app even blocked a call earlier today! Excellent job T-Mobile.

  • Pretty good at blocking calls Nov 20, 2018

    By Soulman DC
In my experience, T Mobile seems to be better at blocking unwanted phone calls than Verizon or AT&T. They are also better at blocking calls than the NoMoRobo service. I would give T-Mobile and the app 5 stars if they could add one key feature: the ability to block calls that display as “Unknown” or “Unavailable”. The explanation they give for not including this is that a doctors office might be trying to reach me. My doctors do not block their numbers. Why can’t I decide who to block?

  • Awesome ... except for one minor issue Jul 29, 2020

    By AlanMarks53
This is an awesome free service that T-Mobile is providing its customers. Let me be clear, I am VERY happy with T-Mobile as my cell provider!!! They offer the best prices with free add-on services automatically, such as their Netflix benefit. And, I’ve not had any connection issues. The only thing about this Scam Shield that I am disappointed with is the limitation of “One per account” on the Proxy Number through Digits. I have 6 family members under my plan and I had told them about this upcoming benefit ... only to learn that it is limited to one per account. 😖😞☹️ That’s my own fault for telling my family about it ... but now it can’t be offered to them. So, disappointed in that limitation. Still, the T-Mobile service is THE BEST provider on the market bar none!

  • Really good at Call Blocking Nov 23, 2019

    By DakotaJD
I’m coming from AT&T whose call blocking app really didn’t do much. This app has been amazing so far and has blocked so many calls. The only thing is that I wish they put descriptions for the call block types because sometimes I miss calls that shouldn’t be blocked. For example my pharmacy called and it blocked them. I’m really enjoying the app and it works well. I just need to figure out how to get it to stop blocking certain calls.

  • Premium version is shown in App Store Aug 1, 2020

    By RobertValenzuela
Be aware that Wi-Fi in the phone needs to be turned off in order to activate this app via cell tower. In the Apple Store the Premium ($4 extra per month) version is shown. The basic version has no Category Manager activated and all switches are greyed out. It has Caller ID. When looking up several reversed numbers in the reverse lookup, none of them could be identified. So by the same token I don’t readily trust Caller ID in the app either. Had difficulty to add favorites and managed to just add one. Other additions failed. Continuing with Basic version until the app is more perfected but it is a good start. I swapped it out in lieu of YouMail which has also proven to be a very effective app.

  • Good service bad app Jun 9, 2019

    By Amrish
The nameID service by itself works great. It identifies spam calls at the network level and blocks them. If you choose Premium service you also get to select various options like blocking nuisance calls, blocking telemarketing calls etc. however, as I previously said, Service works at the network level. The app by itself does nothing. It doesn’t use the Apple call kit and doesn't integrate with the stock iPhone dialer. But I must admit that it's not an issue. You still see the caller name and calls get blocked or sent to voicemail directly. But they could have just integrated the nameID option in the mail TMobile app and not have needed the nameID app at all.

Good service tells you when they think a number could be a scam But unless you buy the premium version you cannot block numbers you know are scams or robo calls. T mobile made a big deal out of providing this "free" service but won't let you get the full benefit unless you pay them. And on top of that you have to pay them for each phone on your plan. Nice service but it sucks that all they can think about is profit over service.

Nice to unblock some calls I did not know were being blocked.. Very dumb on adding favorites - why are we not allowed to simply import from contacts? Instead have to reverse number lookup one at a time and then it finds them in contacts. Really stupid method. Also recent press says free but in app keeps trying to get you to upgrade to $4 month. Also why caller Id switch in setup when I already have caller id? Over all better to have app than not but it could have been so much better.

Disappointed! I really thought with all the news releases leading up to this app's release that this was supposed to be free. The free version has very few features. Instead you have to pay to upgrade. I don't get it. You can't even block numbers without paying! Well it does block fraud and it does provide caller ID. Both free. So that's good! If you want to block specific numbers on the network, or block other types of calls such as Telemarketing or Surveys, you have to pay a monthly fee.

Needs more free features. Like maybe sending one category of the mentioned ones to voicemail for free? Or maybe a once a year purchase that costs less then $48? Thinking $30-$35 range? A lot of scam calls come from local numbers and also don't register in the dialer app. Seems too good to be true and effective. Also no sms protection for either tier. You'd think your carrier would be able to block sms based off certain words, too. I get a lot of text spam with the same word. Not good enough.

  • App is essentially useless without premium product Jul 28, 2020

    By damnitacceptmynickname
The scam service is already running behind the scenes and the app just shows you the calls it’s blocked. I don’t need the app in order to block calls, it’s already doing it. There is a feature in the app where you can set certain categories of calls to block, and this may be the best feature, but it’s not available without an additional paid service. Overall the app “appears” interesting and useful, but it really doesn’t actually offer any additional services or features without more money. So typical. I uninstalled immediately.

Installed and it made me scroll through several screens of info. Then landed on a screen that advertised their premium service. There was no way to click through or exit out of this screen and go on into the actual app. After several wasred minutes I just uninstaled this useless waste of time. I today recieved an email from t-mobile promoting this app. If I can't even install it what good is it?!?! JUNK DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
