If you're driving 45 mph on a small road through the country, but you have no idea what the speed limit is, you need that info so you don't get caught in a speed trap. Get alerted when you're speeding and when there are speed-tracking cameras and technology ahead!

No driver can expect to know a big city like the palm of their hand. With free updates and voice-guided navigation, this app can cover every single country in the world. It can also direct you towards 100s of the most affordable parking lots and gas stations in your state - all while offline.

Much like 99% of the cities in the world, Kabul is not covered by wifi throughout. In fact, you are likely to go through many parts where connectivity is very limited. This is why an offline map will be an important addition to your digital toolbox.

GPS is an indispensable part of driving. Every teen should get used to it - especially with an app as simple as Sygic. It covers turn-by-turn, voice-guided directions, alternate routes, 2D and 3D maps, speed limits - and it works offline.

Update disaster. Don't purchase unless they fix it... Apr 23, 2021

    By Spyros Delta
It was almost perfect. I purchased full lisence and all the add-ons. The new update in April 2021 is a disaster. It's not sygic anymore and now I have to look for another gps. The guide is crazy. Many function, settings, and options are lost. If they don't fix it soon, I have to delete it. Don't purchase unless they fix it.

New Review: I love the graphics and Lane prompts in this app. Development team is prompt about responding and they’ve fixed a lot of issues that made the app hard to use. Landmarks and locations now are searchable. Yesterday the app was nimble enough to find the best route through an Interstate closure with traffic slowed to a stop AND multiple road closures in downtown. Never encountered stopped traffic on the drive using Sygic. It takes a little getting used to but well worth it. First review: This app has very few landmarks loaded into its databases. You must Google a landmark then put the address into Sygic in order to navigate. Love the graphics but I’ve never found a single location in the app by name, including libraries and schools. Not worth the money. Company offered to enter each one I report but would not refund the purchase until they have more appropriate map and search capabilities.

This app is amazing! It does nearly everything I could ask for. My only complaint is that HUD mode navigation is a bit basic, and I would love to have the option of mirroring the normal gps screen for HUD use as well, as it contains a lot more information, and my hardware is a cheap recycled smartphone from 10 years ago, which makes basic navigation even worse in my specific use case. Offline maps are also fantastic, if a few years out of date.

Switching to a subscription model is a killer for me. I paid a full price for the app and a lifetime world licence. Now they want to charge me every year for the app that crashes, leads to wrong locations, and is terrible at searches. There is a better business model: charge a fixed price once, give updates for the app for 1-2 years, after that offer upgrade pricing. Subscription makes you lazy. You can just sit back, reply to reviews with a lot of apologies, and do nothing else.

This is literally the best navigation for offline maps. Sure it has a couple a flaws, like it wanted me to take a turn to the left, right, right, left, when I could just go forward. But besides that it is so easy to navigate, and you can enter any address and it'll tell you directions. It's just like Google Maps but offline, so it's amazing. Would 100% recommend, without a doubt the best.
  • Good maps. Poor navigation Aug 22, 2019

    By LifeInLoFi
The maps are good but not the best. The off-line maps and navigation increase their value, however. The turn by turn directions has some good features including speed camera warnings. The navigation needs a lot of improvement and can be confusing and possibly dangerous if you don’t know the route. Directions are often vague and confusing, and sometimes even incorrect. While driving on a highway, the directions often do not give exit names so you don’t know which road you exit on. They often told me to turn where there are no turns. Directions tell you to simply “turn left” instead of “turn left to merge onto the highway”. And the directions missed the Walmart 5 miles from my house located in the the middle of a major US city, instead directing me to the back of the strip center one block away from the Walmart. I bought the heads up display option which is a good feature — basic but well done. But it’s useless if the rest of the app is going to get me lost along the way. For turn by turn directions, the two major iOS map apps are much more accurate and easier to follow.

I have bought this application as a one time purchase several times before on different devices. Now it has switched to a subscription. A subscription is not worthwhile to me. The developer has responded to my review, indicating that the copies of the app I have purchased in the past will still work without a subscription. I appreciate the response. I will say that I have used Sygic extensively in the past on foreign vacation travel, and have always found it to be very useful.

The lack of route editing makes it somewhat useless for car rallies and similar events. The latest update causes the screen to freeze when using it in vehicle dash. Fix it and stop changing things! I paid for Sygic Car Nav when it was out. When Sygic GPS Nav came out I bought the individual components and in Aug. I will have to pay a yearly subscription. Don’t think I will. Maybe, when it settles down and stops changing fee structure and the way it works, I might check it out. Earlier problems - I use this in BRP Connect which is a smartphone integration to a motorcycle dash. The most current problem is after a short while Sygic goes silent. The only way to get the sound directions back is to stop and restart everything. So many hiccups in using another navigation app. Map colors are limited. Announcements are quirky. When using it in a vehicle dash the route you set up on the phone disappears when you open it in the dash. Time consuming have to set up again.

Good map navigation with a few gripes. I tried to use the feedback tool and it kept going to a share page on my phone. But the big issue with this app that needs to get fixed is using it through android auto, if you say "navigate me to Springfield Walmart" the address will display but it says "no search results" so then I will need to tell it to navigate to the address that's written in the search bar that I'm reading from the app after it's telling me where it is.

Nice app, It takes a while to get the hang of it as the blue lines at the beginning confused me to whether avoid or stick to these. Volume was down though and it all made sense when I heard and saw the instruction. Would suggest to change to green colour though as green is always “go this way”. I travel a lot to different places and I bought the world unlimited version. I’ve just tried it in Spain where in Madrid worked pretty nicely, the only problem was when inside a tunnel with junctions in it as these are not shown (I reckon due to loss of GPS signal) but the commands need a bit of improvement to get in the correct lane. Between Oliva (Valencia) back to Madrid, the app got lost four different times showing junctions that didn’t exist and erroneous turns when is not even possible. The way is very straight forward, very much a motorway where there is only one time at which you need to make a slight turn to move onto another motorway (Barcelona or Madrid). I just ignored the spurious commands but this definitely needs to be looked into as may cause confusion. Once the turn commands were ignored the display reverts back to normal. Also, a heard quite a few times “slight turn” when it was a nearly 90 degree turn. All the best and keep updating and correcting these minor bugs. It’s definitely a worth to have app

I gave this app a 4-day trial of the premium service using Android auto. This app needs a lot of work at least for use in the USA. For instance distance to turn instructions are way off with units set to Miles/feet. The turn guidance on the map when using Android Auto does not show a complete view of the traffic lanes and what lane to be in. Text to speech and voice instructions are almost comical. Street names are not called out consistently. Sygic has a lot of promise but needs a lot of work.

Before the last update, everything was good. I always opened this whenever I first started my car. Now, things are terrible, making me suspect they are intentionally implemented some kind of problem to make me to buy a subscription model. If I start the app without WIFI, it does NOT get GPS for 5 to 10 min. And whenever I make a turn, this app does not detect my direction and change my direction (rotate the map) a LOT. Sometimes, even while I drive a straight road, it suddenly turn 180 degrees saying I am moving backward. At first, I thought my GPS antenna was a problem, but GPS info states I have strong GPS signals from more than 10 satellites, and all other navigation apps does not make such a problem. I think I should have never updated the app.
  • Still frustrating! Aug 4, 2018

    By Histnrd
Update:the search function has greatly improved, but now the directions leave much to be desired. I have noticed that the map shows all lanes of a highway are fine, only to find that it tells me it is time to turn less than 1000 feet from the exit, sometimes it finally tells me I am turning right when the exit only lane appears. Also, on my last trip it kept telling me to get into the carpool lane so it showed me turning, every mile or two; this made it impossible to know when my real turn would be. It would be nice to get more specific info about future turns too. Finally, why is the info bar at top sometimes blue and sometimes green? I am sure there is a reason but haven’t figured it out yet. At this point I only use Sygic when I am in areas with no cell signal, otherwise I use Apple maps. I used to love Sygic and keep hoping they will finally work out all the bugs. If I can get the program to understand where I am going, it is top notch, but actually getting it to recognize an address or find a location is frustrating at best and an utter failure at worse. At one point you could share an address from Apple maps and that was great but then it was removed, by Apple or Sygic I have no idea, but pretty much an epic failure now most of the time. As I do like the maps, once I have gone someplace I mark the location so I can find it again.

I purchased this app about 5 years ago, and purchased the premium package and other options. There was a learning curve to mastering this app, and it did credible job. But there are important fundamental functions that are now extinct, rendering the app useless for navigation beyond giving verbal instruction. And now the biggest issue is the frustration I have with their customer service that has ignored repeated requests regarding legitimate performance failures that were once promised with the Premium +Traffic North America-Lifetime License, Head up display lifetime license, Real View Navigation-Lifetime License, etc. etc. This app no longer has a landscape mode for either Head-Up Display or Real View Navigation. They only way they blue line/arrow within “Real View Navigation” had any value was in landscape mode. I finally grew tired of being ignored every time I addressed this consistent issue through their “give us feedback” venue. I also have the Sygic Travel app, and both have become a waste of money. Since I happened upon the complaints here, I decided to add mine to the heap. I want to see if this addition placed in this forum will stir this recalcitrant Sygic team into enough initiative to respond to me on this forum. I want the “bug fixed” with an update and apology afters years of complaining.
  • Ducati partnered with the app Nov 28, 2021

    By Rick Ayers
But the app doesn’t seem to have partnered with Ducati. I bought a brand new motorcycle in Italy, and it connects directly to my phone to display a map function when navigating. It’s super helpful but the only map application I can use is Sygic. I thought it would be fine, but when I went to look up directions to go back to the dealership for routine maintenance, the map software couldn’t even locate the Ducati dealership in Naples, Rome or anywhere nearby (I bought in Caserta). I had to go to Google to get the coordinates eventually to copy and paste into the app. On a later drive, I had an appointment and the navigation sent me on a new route it said would be faster through an area I didn’t know. It was directing me to go through an area that has been closed for two years and I ended up late to my appointment due to backtracking. To top it all off, I keep getting asked by the app to upgrade to premium when I can use Google maps for free, which overall provides me a better experience. I don’t care for the spam, the bad instructions or lack of a proper search function (other major landmarks are equally difficult to find, regardless of searching in Italian or English thus far). One star

Very glitchy. About half of the time it calls me via the Bluetooth connection to tell me when to turn. For certain turns the default is this arcade-like view of the turn which hurts more than it helps; rarely happens so when it does it takes a sec to find your bearings. Remembered this being better. I despise Google randomly giving the driver 10 seconds to select 'no' for the alternate/unfamiliar route that will save you 4 minutes on a 3.5 hr drive.. Still searching for an alternative to Google.
  • Useless now Apr 1, 2020

    By Beighn
This was a great app when I purchased it a year ago but greed has corrupted it since. Ever since they started the map subscription towards the middle to end of last year the software is full of bugs. It will no longer give you the fastest route and will give you a route that is 1-3 hours longer. Will not reroute it’s directions. Crashes at least twice each 2 1/2 hour trip. Maps are still incomplete such as 3D building feature. Incorrect info on maps such as street names. And the dash cam plugin is the most frustrating bugfest. The dash cam will only record for a certain amount of time and when you go to start a new recording it will over write your last recording. Customer service will not actually read any bug reports you send them and reply with a canned email that doesn’t actually address the bug reported and try to up sell more of their plug ins. The core software has bugs that are overlooked while they focus on adding more pay-to-use features that have their own bugs. It’s just a cash grab now with little tech support and broken features.

Not happy with it. Made for city folks, not those doing road trips. Does not allow wide scale setting to remain where I choose, snaps back. I want to see what's up the road several miles ahead, not just 200 yards... Does not show the next town or point of interest well or at all when zoomed out more than a little. Does not allow me to choose course-up. Has some nice features, pretty good maps, but these are glaring omissions for anyone with nav experience and needs. Will not resubscribe.

Customer service is absolutely terrible. I tried to add the speed camera option with a valid credit card attached to Google Play, and it failed. Three times, I dug around in the so-called support page for a link. Three times, I received a patronizing automated reply. I followed the steps in the auto-response, just to say I had, then responded to the email as instructed. Zero response all three times. Nada. Nothing. Zip. Avoid at all costs if you want even the most basic customer service.

We used Sygic for two years touring the western USA in a Sprinter Van type RV. Other than downloading maps, it does not need cell data for navigation. Even in the desert where there was no cellphone reception, and therefore no Google or Apple maps, Sygic never failed us. The app keeps getting better and better with updates and features like head up navigation on your windshield — which is so helpful driving at night. Much better than a Garmin or Rand McNally dedicated GPS. On the iPads you get an amazing large navigation screen, unlike a small GPS screen. The small lifetime payment gives me Sygic on my iPhone, iPad and iPad Mini. This is one of the top ten apps of any kind I’ve ever used.

I already purchased the add ons. The App is very good and performance of the App is improving... Guidance voice is natural and not confusing as other GPS guiding Apps. It is very accurate while no one else is there to help you finding your way. The only missing step for being a perfect App is to make it possible to organize "favorites" feature. Now, for me, Editing the previous rating from one star to five strars, is a must now... Well done 🙂

This is a very well thought out app. It's simple to use, yet it's sophisticated, polished and not intrusive like Google maps. Sygic makes no assumptions and if the user wants to take a particular route that overrides the app’s own selection, it will allow it without much fuss or fanfare (again, unlike Google). 4 stars only because I haven't used it enough to give it the ultimate endorsement.
  • New subscription version 20.9.4 Dec 23, 2021

    By Colonel Roy Mustang
Purchased the older none prescription version. With US maps it was $100 US. This version works much better! Easier to get addresses into the app and save them. I like the list of gas stations that comes up on my phone now. Phone is cradled right next to the map display in my ST. Maps and verbal instructions are good. I’m on a iPhone 11 with IOS 15. Apple Maps seems to have more business etc but there are loading problems out in the boonies with Apple Maps. Route won’t calculate if your needed maps are not loaded. So figure out which states you need and load them. I have a long trip from Illinois to southern Ca. Once all the maps I needed where loaded it calculated the route just fine. I’d like to have verbal hands free address capabilities. The builtin GPS in most cars has that but it can be frustrating to use. Further comments to came.

Recently I downloaded the newest version. That was a mistake. I use a third party app (gpx reader) to send the address to Sygic. Sometimes, I have to slightly change the address number. The new version forces the cursor back to the end every time a key is pressed. I found a version late last December I ended reinstalling. Hopefully that gets fixed Sunday.

  • I like it but why so limited free features? Jun 26, 2022

    By Brentman1
So, I only used this app just because I wanted to try something new but unfortunately it didn’t last long for me because basic features where locked behind a pay wall like voice navigation why? Plus the change you car icon on the map is also behind a pay wall again why? So basically if you don’t pay for premium your features will be limited and free users don’t get a lot the app is basically almost useless if you don’t pay I don’t like this I fell like most features should be free like voice navigation and changing you icon on the map and anything else so afterwards I just deleted the app I don’t think I will come back after I see if more features are free but the things I do like is how good the sky looks for day and night very HD but overall I really wouldn’t recommend this app you can get it if you want be I just don’t like how many features are behind a pay wall :(

The speed limit feature for premium users does not sound notify when it goes over speed limit by set amount on Pixel 3a Android 12. It does turn red however. The documentation refers to a setting for "how often the sound warning should repeat itself" which is not present in the current user interface. The behavior of the speed limit is confusing and I would appreciate clarification.
  • Poor Directions Jul 29, 2020

I got this because I was going to be traveling in the western U.S. and knew I would have sparse internet connectivity with my phone and tablet. However, when I put in a destination and asked for directions, it gave me a 155 mile 2:51 minute route, which I knew was wrong. Fortunately, I had WiFi at my hotel and was able to produce the correct route in Apple Maps: 43 miles and 1 hour. As it turned out, the mis-routing was a result of the fact that the shortest route sent me across the border of another state for a couple of miles, and I hadn’t downloaded that state’s map. But rather than inform me that I needed to download another map, I got a route that was three times as long. Not great. Also, when navigating, if a road changes its name, the app instructs me to “turn right”, when I really need to go straight. This means that I have to look at the app and cannot rely on audio cues alone while driving - also not great.

Generally a good app, but not a great app. Very slow to react to route changes. Also, the app will say your turn is 1 mile away until it's time to turn (resulting in route changes.) Definitely has a way to go to replace Google Maps, especially because I expect WAY more for paid apps.

I’ve had Sygic for several years now and have really loved your app. Its best feature is being able to download maps and use them offline as many places I go have limited or no cellular service. I like it even though the maps aren’t always correct and one time led my wife to a cow pasture instead of the Hershey park! I’ve always given you a break since your a British company and I’m in the US. Despite these issues, I’ve purchased every lifetime offer they’ve put out. My only issue is that, as of late, you’ve switched their business model to a subscription service instead of allowing your customers to buy your product outright. This is why I dropped my rating by two stars and have switched to mainly using a competing product. The main reason I was attracted to your product, besides the offline maps, is that I could pay once and be done. Your latest add says “you can get a yearly Premium+ license for a special loyalty price”… “Loyalty” they say… I’ve already purchased EVERY product offered to date and THIS is how you reward my loyalty? By changing the rules mid stream? I’m sorry, but I’m not going to play anymore. I’m sure you don’t care about losing just one customer… but I’m placing this review out there to warn all your future customers. Slowly but surely we’re losing more and more of our hard earned income to this type of business model and I for one am not going to participate.
  • Basic Functions Bug-Ridden on iPad Pro Oct 19, 2021

    By Disappointed in Va.
I have had Sygic on my iPad for years now, hoping the developer would eventually fix the software issues. It has been to no avail. While new bells and whistles have been added, bugs in the basic functions of the app have not been fixed. I will focus on the two issues that concern me most. The most debilitating issue is with map management. Map updates are highly problematic. The app often crashes during map updates. If a map update is interrupted for any reason, crash or otherwise, the app does not recognize that the update is incomplete. This means you can never finish the update. In the past I got around this by deleting all my maps and re-installing them. However, in the latest version of the app, I am unable to delete maps at all after a botched map update. Therefore, the maps remain in a state of limbo. My second major issue is with the Favorites list. It is impossible to delete a location from the Favorites list – if you open the Edit window, select a site to be deleted, press Delete, nothing happens. I get the distinct impression that the IOS version of this app is not high on the developer’s priority list. Otherwise, why would such basic functions still be glitchy after so many app updates over a period of years. I have paid a significant price for this app and its add-ons. I expect solid, reliable software for my investment.

It has no voice turn by turn directions. How can an app be called a navigation app without that? It has a premium feature to turn sound off even though there are no sounds so maybe it's planned for a future release? It doesn't have much of anything else either. The premium version has a dashcam, which could be interesting. There are a couple other premium features that have no explanation of what they do. So maybe it has some usefulness, Idk. But currently, I can't find any reason to use it.

One star

  • Maps don’t have real time traffic update Nov 4, 2021

    By SudhirHebbar
Maps don’t have real time traffic updates as Google/Apple/Waze maps have. Please improve in this area. I have tried offline feature. It works good. We need the app to also remember where I parked when the car is parked so it can guide the user back to parking if needed. Google /Apple/ waze have this feature. Please help incorporate these features in your next release . Update:: Lowering the rating to 1 star. Reason is that I have been giving constant feedback for over 2 months about app crashing when connected to CarPlay and all I get is standard response that reinstall the app. I even did that, but it still crashes. Developers please fix the issue. Also many of locations which you can find on Google, Waze and Apple maps are not shown on this app map. Don’t know what the issues are for not getting proper updates to maps. I have even updated the map when I reinstalled the app. Is this company still working? Or because of COVID-19 they have bundled up , shut down? Totally disappointed with this app .. Update : still the app crashes when you pass through net of freeways crisscross each other . I tried the app in india. It crashes here too.. Ok more update. I was sitting at a location in Palo Alto and searched for the same place in this map and it showed the location is in Ventura and is 70ft from me. Really? Do you think we are fools ? Apple Inc. please help delete this app from app store as this is scam .

There seems to be no way to cancel a subscription to Sygic. I actually never got a chance to play with it and purchase a bunch of maps for either this side Sygic or another one. It appears Google has decided they can screw us better if they break their apps into thousands of little pieces so they can just screw us a teeny bit on each piece as opposed to a big screw over on a single app. Look at Google maps it used to be a single app that would offer mapping directions amenities and so on.
