Worst Ap ever invented
I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to register. Tells me I am already registered when I’m not. I have called the help line numerous times and they are no help. Now every time I try to register it completely throws me out. Not impressed!!! You would think the “help line” would be aware of these problems. Needs MUCH improvement.

Apparently the recent update messed up everything
In all fairness, to people saying the 5 stars couldn't be legit, they WERE legit. I have used this app for well over a year and was pretty impressed with being able to use it to reorder specialty scripts and pay bills. However upon trying to log in yesterday, I keep getting kicked out to the log in page. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it's still having issues. After so many days crashing, anthem needs to reevaluate their app and fix their bugs. Hopefully they will.

Absolute Garbage. Half of the app doesn't work. The biggest thing is that "Find care and cost" always just pops up "an error has occurred", and when I reached out to customer support about it their answer was to completely uninstall and reinstall the app. I tried it. Still doesn't work. One more example of health insurance making it as difficult and frustrating as possible to use their services.

The most recent update on May 1, 2022 has made it so Android Users can't access the app. It wants you to agree to the new terms and conditions, but the "agree" button only appears if you have an I-phone. This app has been nothing but a series of problems since I downloaded it. I tried to hang in there because my workplace gives additional benefits if it's used, but at this point the irritation just isn't worth it. DELETED.

HSA Glitches All Day
I loved the Anthem website and used it all the time for Bill Pay with my HSA account. I downloaded this app and now it has taken 3 calls to Customer Service to get this basic task done. I needed to ‘pay myself’ with my HSA to resolve a balance this week with a provider so I can have a procedure done. I went through the normal steps on Friday January 10th. I log in yesterday and it says it was denied although I had more than enough in there. I tried it again, same transaction. Got all the way to the end screen saying “submitted”. Checked back about an hour later (typically when I do this, it takes the funds out of my balance within seconds), funds were all still there. I look in pending transactions and my recent bill pay submission isn’t there. I waited and checked back today- it’s like it never happened. This app allows you to go all the way to the submit screen, submit it, tells you you’re all set, but meanwhile is doing absolutely nothing. I called customer service and they were dumbfounded, telling me “oh if it said you submitted it then you did but I don’t see it here. Can you do it on the phone with me now? It should show up in real time.” I go through all of the steps for a third time, nothing shows up. No pending transaction. I have no HSA card or time to wait for one to be sent so I may have to move my procedure because of this weird glitch where it won’t let me do a basic task.

Withholding doctor information
This app refuses to give you any information about your virtual doctor. You are not being given a phone number to reach your doctor, to get a refill on a prescription, or ANYTHING else that might come up. You cannot look up your doctor either because guess what? The app refuses to give you the location of the doctor’s office. And then the customer service is also unable to figure it out. What the heck is this? You limited minded app makers have to provide information about one’s doctor, shouldn’t that be obvious?! Is this even legal to withhold this information? So incredibly frustrating.

Terrible service
I had a question about why I was being overcharged. Customer service answered all my questions with vague and rude none answers. I had to tell the person that they weren’t being professional to get any answers at all. I left the chat still confused and only with the knowledge that the company admitted that they couldn’t explain my charges. I got a flat out “yes” to the question of: Was this your mistake? But still no resolution or apology.

Failed Attempt at Virtual Care
What positive things can I say about an app that’s supposed to help you chat about symptoms yet it logs you out and makes it impossible to upload photos or even stay logged in. It’s terrible. Make it easier for people to upload photos to the care team and honestly do more user testing. It’s obvious no one did any user testing.

Vaccination pass done by an intern
Your Apple Wallet COVID-19 vaccination pass is incapable of showing a second booster (4th shot) in spite of all the wasted empty space at the bottom half of the pass. Do you get paid for this kind of incompetence?

Don’t waste your time
For a insurance company with high premiums, it’s astounding they can’t find anyone to write an application that actually works and doesn’t glitch. Pathetic and insulting. I’m switching insurance companies.

Uses the same password as my insurance so was ready to use. The app itself is straightforward and easy to navigate. But the app is very sluggish, when scrolling it will have a tendency to tap on something even when gently scrolling. App has a tendency to freeze for several seconds while scrolling. When finding a provider and using current location, the circle will just spin and spin and spin and you have to go back and start over. Please fix your app since it does have potential.

Don't expect too much out of it. Access to insurance info is convenient, but the provider search is pretty useless. The information I get from a search doesn't match up when I go to schedule an appointment on the provider's website. So I'm not really sure which one is wrong tbh. Agree with other reviews about clunky UX too. I can't seem to tap any buttons successfully on the first attempt.

Tried virtual visit. No cost estimate and no reason given just "unable to get this information". After guessing and enabling location, I got cost estimates. I tried to go to the virtual visit, and got an error "something went wrong". I could not find any link for IT support, the little chat feature didn't recognize keywords like app and IT. So just a bunch of non- informative errors and nowhere to go for help. But it was easy to find the virtual visit button. So I'm giving a star for that.

Just horrible
Tried using the chat with a doctor feature a few weeks back. The robot asks a bunch of questions, asks for your credit card information, then directs you into a meaningless void where nothing takes place or crashes, sometimes both. Then the process repeats. For maximum fun, it charged me for the privilege of being angry at a robot while trying to find healthcare. I called Anthem for support and I am now on call number 2, over an hour in, 2 ish hours combined between 4 people in 3 different departments and we have yet to agree on whether the Sydney app can charge patients in the first place. Does Anthem know they have an app? If so, the people answering the phone to help troubleshoot/refund for the app not working should: A: know how the app works, B: know how to handle customer service calls for the app, C: know they have an app called Sydney that can charge patients for “services”. I honestly would have chalked this up to “company started a tech initiative they can’t/don’t know how to support” thing all healthcare providers are up to these days if the customer service wasn’t sooooooooo baaaaad. Don’t use it if you can avoid it. Would probably be easier to communicate with Anthem via messenger pigeon or *insert outmoded communication method here*.

Does not allow usage on rooted devices. A foolish decision, there is nothing wrong with a rooted device. Let the user decide how they want to use your app. I also get a message about needing to use a "supported device" when I am on Android 8. It's plenty updated and works fine, no need for a newer version.
