  • My favorite app of this type Feb 10, 2019

I am a very casual dabbler when it comes to astronomy - I don't even own a telescope. However, I do like to be able to look up the occasional unusually bright object visible to the naked eye even in city lights. I most recently enjoyed the near conjunction of Venus and Jupiter in the morning sky. Venus I figured out based on past knowledge but I would never have known I was also seeing Jupiter without the help of this app. I have downloaded and tried a number of similar apps but for my purposes this one is by far my favorite and my go-to and the only one I found worthy of taking the time to leave a review. It doesn't keep me stuck for 15 seconds on a splash screen before opening, and I don't have to have music interrupting my podcasts if I don't want it (both big pet peeves of mine with some of the competitive apps). But most important of all is the great flexibility - the user has the choice, through the settings, of whether or not to see such things as zodiac names or constellation outlines. What else can I say other than if you are going to have one stargazing app this is the one to get.

Love this app. Sometimes, I turn it on just for the music, at night to help sleep. Is there a way to get (back) to the notifications? I just got a notification for "the brightest comet of 2020!", but I missed the information, and if I didn't have a service device with the same notification, I'd be lost. I'm still lost. I can't read the rest of the info without destroying the notif as the app launches.

I love this app because it doesn’t need an internet connection to work. It uses your phones compass and downloaded content to show the stars and constellations. I use this app a lot when I go back country back packing.

Very pleased with stargazer. Easy to use but wish it would give a brief description of stars: size, mass, age, distance, composition and iron level. All in relation to our sun.

Unlike some of the comments that said that the stars weren't accurate I was really surprised when I found that they were totally wrong. I don't know if the case varies from place to place but where I am, it works perfectly. I downloaded this to find out NEOWISE in the sky and thanks to this I was able to see it. Great work by the devs

I get notifications and click on them to open the app but I'm not shown where in the sky the objects are. Take for instance the comet Neowise, I clicked on the notification but can't find it anywhere in the sky. Maybe you should have a search facility to look for objects and an arrow to show their direction.

The horizon doesn't stay level, the sky isn't in correct alignment. I get incorrect notifications, for example on the 16th June I got told it was the lyrids shower, that's in April not June. This star tracker is quite useless. I'm uninstalling it, it's not worth the space on my phone. The only nice thing I have to say is that it's pretty and has nice music.

Used to work flawlessly. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times but every time I open the app graphics just spin around aimlessly. Moving on.

It doesn't even properly orient itself based on the way your looking. I have got it to show the same section of sky no matter what direction I turn. This is hands down the least accurate and usable star charts ive ever seen. Dont waste your time or money.

At first it worked ...ok. but now it does work at all. You can not point to a light in the sky and see what it is...because it will not adjust to anything. And you can move it around. I will be deleting this app and finding another so don't bother responding. As soon as I add my opinion..this app is gone.

The goto app for having a great stargazing experience. The chosen background music is too good; it gives a mystical ambience during gazing sessions. You feel as if you are meditating on the vastness of the universe; u feel small and humble -- which is the feeling I want to take away everytime. As per the functionality, the graphics and responsiveness is great too.

Really enjoy this app. I like the way stars are shown, horoscope signs on the planet orbits. I like the music on background. The only thing, sometimes I feel it is not the sky I see in front of me. ( if for example I travel and my sky look different, I assume the app should pick up the changes automatically)

Nice app. Was even worth paying for the full version. I just ask that you allow the user to go back further than 1000 Bc. I want to go to very ancient dates such as 10 500 which was roughly when the ice caps all over the world began melting. Also maybe something to think about in the more long term is allowing the user to see other cultures names for the constilation. So Aztec or even Egyptian version of them. Please really consider What I have typed. This app would be perfect with those things

This app can be a literal life saver. My only issue Ive ever had is in minimizing the drop down tabs that list objects. This is still not clear to me. It could be made just a bit more intuitive and get 5 stars. Otherwise great app.

While it is good at "showing" what is in the sky, it does not let you "search" by name. We want to find NEOWISE tonight, but you cannot search "by name" and it's not on any of the pre-populated lists. Also wanted to locate the International Space Station, but it's not listed either.

A nice app, works well. but for the life of me, i can't figure out why this app was released with such bad English translation, and bad bad grammar that makes the app look cheap and very unprofessional indeed. I rate this app 3 Stars. Would have got 4 stars had it not been for the bad English translation, and grammar.

The most expertly designed app for the sky I have ever seen... Unfortunately, despite all my settings, location, fast internet and such this is not very accurate at all on my android Huwai P20 pro. No good if your using it to locate but the location is wrong. 😞

Orientation is off. I thought I would put it to the test when I had my suspicions so during the day I used it to find the sun. It was way out. When I checked my location it has put me in the middle of the English Channel! Also, whoever designed the map needs to know that there is water between mainland UK and Ireland.
