  • Great Game with A Small downside Jan 20, 2021

    By SnakeDST
This game is great. So glad that it’s finally on the mobile store. But the one thing that actually hurts me and makes me get mad, is the camera controls/movement for Swoop racing, shooting from the Ebon Hawk, or anything that isn’t actually your character. The moment is horrible on them. And half the time in the races, the speed pads don’t register and work to speed you up, leaving you to always lose. Along with the fact that the movement while racing is jagged and just not as good as a console/PC version of this game. Other than that, I’ll be spending many hours on this game. Hopefully working to slowly... and calmly, beating the races.

First off I just wanna say I’m so thankful this game is finally here I’ve been hoping for this port to be able to cross over to the phones for so long. I love the first game but the second game was the first one I played out of the two and I was blown away by the amazing role-playing mechanics and story. The best thing about this game are the characters and how the characters are the focus and this one a lot more. Influencing your companions to make them into Jedis or sets is one of the most satisfying payoffs in this 30+ our video game. In short you definitely want to buy this and have it on your phone to be able to play wherever you go it is a timeless classic and my favorite piece of Star Wars media out of every game movie or TV show. Kreia is the most interesting and best character ever. My only complaint is I noticed the characters running speed is significantly slower than what it was on PC and Xbox. Please adjust this so that running speed is as fast or even faster than the original game. The KOTOR 1 port to the phone had boosted the running speed for the player so I’m sure Aspyr can also fix this with KOTOR 2. Thank you!

This game rocks and I’m glad to see it’s on mobile, I just had a problem with the interface text being too small and the hud should be redesigned to look normal on newer phones. I also suggest that they move the quicksave button far away from the options button. This is very minor, but it slightly bothered me how a lot of the menu buttons are light blue when the rest of game is mostly green themed. That’s about it. I remember seeing a review on kotor 1 about someone being upset that the button to spin your swords from the original game was removed on the mobile version and it upset them because they used to spam that button all the time, as I’m sure we all have, and they added that button in the mobile version of this game, so if that doesn’t make you want to buy it, I don’t know what will. Oh yeah, and fix the bug where the audio cuts out after a phone call.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords is set a thousand years before the Phantom Menace. It is the story of an exile who seeks to reconnect with the force in order to save or destroy the galaxy, the choice is up to you. I love this game! I was maybe 8 or 9 when my dad introduced me to this game. I played it on an old Windows XP computer and I could never beat the first disc! Now years later, having beat it with and without TSLRCM on computer, it’s finally made its way to mobile! It’s great what Aspyr has done to port this to mobile, and even though it doesn’t include TSLRCM, it’s still an enthralling story with a great cast of characters and a certain charm that’s shared between it and it’s predecessor(Knights of the Old Republic 1) that just oozes quality and still holds up as one of the greatest stories ever told in Star Wars. 160% recommend if you like RPGs or just want to get into Star Wars in general, this is one to get!

The game is great controls are easy. The only problem is there are bugs when you are trying to travel to certain planets that crashed the game. the only way I was able to get past them is I save the game then i talk to everyone on the ship as much as I can then travel where I wanna go (without skipping the cutscenes) it usually works after 5 or 6 tries. Don't give up on a great game!!

I like many users for this game am frustrated by the bugs and inability to play through the game. After every fight scene my character gets stuck and will not move I have to save and reload in order to get him to unfreeze. I try switching characters between the party like from mine to kreia and that gets me a little farther into another battle but then that character will also lock up. 2nd big bug is I am unable to load next planet. I finished korriban now it won't load past cutscene movie.

Love the game. Play both the originals on PC. Still have them on PC. But this version on my phone is a little unbearable. I keep getting my character stuck. Where he can't move but only turn and look around. It's just frustrating because I have to restart my last save, 20 seconds prior because it keeps happening. If I can't play the game and basically leave peragus than why give it the 5 star it deserves. Because the original game, was really good.

Good game if you can ever get it to work.Like the digital 360 game , this one is plagued by bugs and I have only been succesful getting the original PC version to run and the original X box game to run on a regular X box. However if they could maybe get it to run for once that would be great. How about restoring the missing content also since us fans have been so patient?

  • This should not be a $15 app Feb 17, 2021

Guys, this pixelated art worked 20 years ago, and I’m sure the movement worked fine on PC, but you can’t charge $15 for an app like this these days. I will never again buy an app like this from this developer. Controls are so spastically wrong; all you had to do is play one modern day Mmorpg to see that your character control was pathetically substandard. Swipe on the left side of the screen to move the character, swipe on the right to rotate view, and do both simultaneously. That works, and has worked very well for FREE mmo’s for a couple of decades at least. Your controls are spastic and obnoxious to anyone who has played any other mobile rpg. One star, and I encourage all players to NOT buy this game until they fix this or lower the price tag to 99 cents where it belongs. Ps btw nice story but if you don’t fix the gameplay issues, there is no reason at all to play it on mobile. Fix it and fix your greed.

The app closes itself and it's really stressful when you don't save. I'm stuck where you have to travel from peragus to telos. After clicking on on map and making them travel to telos, the game closes itself and now I'm stuck in a loop. I'm really frustrated, because I played this game on a PC and I loved it, and was just starting to get used to the gameplay on the phone. Not fair to be stuck on a loop because of bugs in the game.

Totally worth the pre-order! Huge nostalgia rush, loved the first one and the sequel even more. I’m so grateful for this, especially since Aspyr said (what feels like long ago) they likely wouldn’t do this. All I can say is: THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Now the only thing, just ONE thing, is I’m a little sad that this is the cut content version that was released on launch back in the day. Though I’m hopeful updates may restore the full version. Regardless, cut or not, this game gets 5 stars from me right off the bat. Runs way better than it did on my old computer back then as well haha! I remember having to install a bunch of patches and fixes. Now it’s all on smartphones, just amazing how times have changed. Once again a big thanks to Aspyr for this, I rarely write reviews at all but this was so worth a 5 star.

When I saw that KOTOR 2 had finally been ported to iOS, I bought it right away. I played this game over and over when it first came out in 2004, and no matter how many times I’ve played it, it’s never come out the same way twice. I love KOTOR 2 for the customization of the characters and the fact that the story is about the PC. As much as I love KOTOR 1, it always felt like it was more about your companions than the PC, even with the big twist near the end of the game. I’m already on my second play through since I bought the game. It doesn’t matter that it’s over fifteen years old, it’s still one of the best Star Wars games ever. As for the port itself, the touch controls are really good and easy to use. I end up accidentally talking to my party members a lot, but that’s the only compliant I have about it. Also, the movement speed could be faster. I end up using Force Speed a lot just to get around quickly. All in all, great game; great port. Makes me wish Aspyr could port some other great Star Wars games like Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Then the nostalgia would be complete!

This is a phenomenal port of a classic Xbox game. So far, I have not run into any game breaking bugs. It runs flawlessly on my Pixel 5 except for when I try to use wired headphones via a USB-C dongle. Plugging headphones in this way causes the game to crash and it subsequently will not open.

  • Developers, plz help! Jan 6, 2021

The game has been fantastic so far, but far into my game I have encountered a game-breaking bug. After all jedi have been convinced to go back to Dantoinne, when I travel back there in the Ebon Hawk, and go to leave it onto the planet...the screen just goes black. Like a cut scene is supposed to load but won’t. So, after advancing maybe 75 percent through the main plot, the game freezes and you can no longer play. This is bad. Developers, please fix this in a patch ASAP, so I (we) can continue playing this awesome classic game! ( one of my all time favorites)

This game ran fine for me with no bugs other than a couple crashes, but that isn't a problem if you save often. It's exactly what you would want it to be, it's the console version ported to mobile. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that you guys had the opportunity to add in the cut content that it needs to reach it's potential. The gameplay is better than the first one, but the story begins to fall apart with all the set ups that never get payed off. For $15 you guys really should add it.

  • Great game but still so many bugs Jan 28, 2021

    By ^(-.-)^
Like I said, great game that I’ve enjoyed since it came out 16 years ago. It’s just a shame that they still haven’t figured out how to fix the same problems from.. 16 years ago. Most of the game runs fine and beginners wouldn’t even notice anything wrong. If you’ve never played KOTOR II before, ignore this rant and consider this a 5* rating. But certain side quests are supposed to give you particular items to enable to get you inside a specific room, for instance, many many hours later into the game. Well I just found out, probably 15 more hours into the game, that the item was never actually put in my inventory. So even though I can go back in my quest log and verify I did things correctly, there’s no way to finish this extended “quest” other than go 15 hours back and replay everything once again. That’s definitely not worth my time.. I only decided to show support for you guys and buy the game again, hoping that the love was really put into it this time. Tl;dr: It’s basically a KOTOR II CD-ROM ported to iOS with some antialiasing features. It performs as such, don’t expect to discover any new (repaired) content.

  • Amazing game once they squash the bugs! Jan 3, 2021

    By Ebones77
Firstly, like many others I am currently stuck on dantooine. Vrook is stuck and the merc battle goes to black after the cutscene. Also the movement is cumbersome in that you will very frequently engage in unwanted dialogue or actions by barely sweeping over them while just trying to turn your character around. There are a few other bugs as well but I will say load times are VERY fast on iPhone 11. This game is ENORMOUS for an iOS game and it’s only been out a short while so I will wait patiently while they patch these problems. If you’re less patient, maybe save your money.

The port is very playable mechanic wise. Like kotor 1 the racing and ship fighting are tough. Would be a 5 star but the ge crashes for me at the cutscene leaving for the polar region of telos. I've noticed many people with galaxy she's having a similar issue. Some sort of fix or at least acknowledgement that there is a problem would be nice.

Would be higher but I can't get past Telos. The game crashes consistently in cutscenes particularly on Telos, I've had it crash as I get in the shuttle to go to the polar region, sometimes I get past that and the HK-50 convo into the next cutscene where you're shot which 95% crashes my game, only twice have I gotten past that and got to the cutscene where Atton says we've been hit but then another cutscene to show you've crashed which crashes my game again before I can save in the new area.

the game is the equivalent of the PC version, which is buggy as hell. if there was some way to also add "the Sith Lords restored content mod" from steam this would be fantastic. however, for the most part, the game works well enough to be playable except a few game breaking buggs. thank you to the people who ported the game over.

I've been waiting for a pretty long time to see this come to the app store. Seeing it this morning I wasted no time in buying it. Now for the 2-star part; it's bugged in the way that almost every time you exit a combat scenario (and once after an early dialog with Kreia), your character freezes up and refuses to move until you restart or load a save. Considering the amount of early combat and early dialog interruptions, I couldn't even get off of Peragus without taking a very frustrated break.

The game keeps crashing. I have an android Samsung galaxy 10 Note and it should be compatible from what I have read. First time I played I got to the end of the mining station cut scene but then it crashed immediately after. I went back into my saves and tried again and it kept crashing. I stated my character new and it crashed after I finished making them. Very disappointed in this awesome game from my childhood. Please fix the crashing issues.
