I love this app! I'm still learning to read music and this really helps me to practise, in a fun way. The app did have a problem with start up, but when I sent them an email, they were amazing about it, and fixed it within a week. Their support was amazing, and they even sent back an email to ask if it had worked. I just wished they made more apps!

Finally my son wants to learn note names!
Gone are the groans when I ask my 6yo to practice note names! He loves this game and is improving his note recognition. Works great on all my iOS devices, except I can’t get it to close on my iPhone X. It doesn’t respond to swiping up from anywhere on the screen. I end up having to reboot the phone. Is there something I’m missing or is this something that needs to be fixed in the next version? -
Indispensable for experienced musicians who never learned to read
I downloaded this after a teacher at a conservatory recommended it to our class piano class and I have it to thank for jumpstarting my sight reading ability. It’s not a replacement for reading and playing actual music, but made it so I could practice anywhere at the drop of a hat, and really helped get me up to speed. If I could make one suggestion to the developers, include playback of the actual pitches as you input your answers, that will help students develop their relative pitch, and will make it all around a more musical experience. -
Love it! Ive been stuck knowing only two notes at first glance for years and never could be bothered pitting the effort into learning more. This has changed that in a matter of weeks. Highly effective and fun! The only fault is that when i hit the back button, instead of taking me back to the main menu, it exits the app. Not a huge problem but annoying if you want to switch clefs.

Wonderful teaching tool!
I love this game! I have all my students buy it to help with their note reading. I especially love that tenor clef was recently added. The only thing it’s missing now is a setting to combine some or all of the clefs in one game to practice switching between them in real time (like for advanced cellists who have to read bass, tenor and treble clef fluidly; or violists who frequently switch between alto and treble clef). Maybe make this upgrade at some point in the future? I would even pay a higher price for a “Pro” version that has this feature. In any case, thanks to the developers for the awesome app!

👌
Coolio 👍 this game makes it real easy and pretty fun to learn the music staff. It is definitely worth the $1 🙂. Thanks devs! -
Wow
Amazing app my piano teacher approves. -
Good
It is actually a really fun game. I bought it for distance learning and it is definitely worth it. You can change the range of the notes to your skill and every time you level up mid game it adds something to the music and speeds up.

Great App!
Love this app! Use it all the time with my students. They enjoy competing against each other for the high score. The developer is great as well and is very responsive to feedback.

Practicing alto clef
Fun and helpful for a violinist who dabbles with occasional viola parts. I wish notes on ledger lines came while it is still slow so I could get used to what they look like. -
So far an amazing tool! Thank you! To make it five stars in my opinion, would be to add an option to here each note (preferably from a piano) when played correctly. That way you would be practicing your ear as well! Would love to see that one day!

New Problem Opening App. This was a great App on my Galaxy S10 however on my new S20 it opens the main Staff Wars page and then immediately closes again.

Not enough ledger lines
I use this with my suzuki guitar students but we need ledger lines down to a low E under the treble clef staff. It’s a bummer not to have the full low range to train with. Please help! -
Not what I thought it was
My music teacher showed us this on his computer. He demonstrated it on his clarinet. A note would appear on the screen and he would play it and win. I downloaded it on my iPhone and (it was 99 cents by the way) and it only lets you tap the notes not play them. It wasn't what I thought it was. -
Good app, but not what I was expecting.
Today, my band teacher showed us the app, and demonstrated how it hones your note accuracy. He used his clarinet with it, and played the notes it showed. The problem is, I can't do that. All it allows me to do is click the notes, but I was expecting to be able to play the notes with my saxophone. -
Needs actual keyboard
This is a fantastic app, BUT why isn't there an option for an image of an actual keyboard instead of just the letter names? Hell, you could have a fretboard option. This app has great potential as a handy teaching tool for young students.
