    I was charged and money was taken from my account by you guys without warning for something that I can only assumed happened more than 6 years ago. It is horrible that you go about this in the manner in which you do!!! A chargeback that happened 6 years ago you take action today. Obviously we’re all small business owners and to take all my deposits without having even talked to me to discuss figuring it out. Horrible!!! This is the second time you took money from me!!! This is totally egregious act taken by your company. I have already been accessed this before. Hundreds of dollars was taken out of my account before and now your doing it again. As opposed to reaching out to me and working out the situation you take something that unbeknownst to me was a situation. I have children that I have to take care of and feed. And you have taken over $200 from my account. I’m sure that isn’t your problem but I haven’t had any chargebacks in years and this is when you decide to take from me. I was robbed then but now your robbing me again and putting me and my children in a compromising position. Thanks for the inconvenience.

    We are artists and have been doing art shows for over 40 years. We have used several different companies to process credit cards over the years and all of them have been complicated and expensive with a lot of paperwork and monthly fees until we discovered Square! It’s so easy with no monthly fees and you can do it anywhere! We recently opened a brick and mortar gallery in Inverness, Florida and bought their Point Of Sale system with iPad. I can keep track of inventory and sales and print reports. They allowed us to buy the register system with monthly payments and set up was super easy! I am about to add employees to it because they keep track of all that too! It also automatically adds sales tax if you want. Emails have always been a problem for us...keeping track and sending them. With Square, they keep track of customers and I can send out a campaign in a few minutes with their templates! I can see at a glance which emails worked and who responded. I can work with the 80/20 rule and concentrate on the 20% of customers that are repeat buyers and buy 80% of my products. We love it!

    Simple and easy to set up and use! I love being able to view reports/sales on the go. Only 4 stars because I would love a simpler way to switch between multiple locations on the app instead of logging out and logging back in again.

    To begin, we have been using Square for almost 4 years. Over that time we have integrated square more and more into our business. We are happy to report that this has been a great decision. The app is always being updated and keeps getting the features that we ask for. All you have to do is email or call and tell their customer service department what features you really want to see in the future. Then sure enough in a month or two the very thing you asked for is added in or has some beginning resemblance of what you had asked for. Do not be deterred by the negative reviews. Most of them are people who have decided that the review section for the app is the best wY to ask a question to the support staff. Or they may be engaged in some kind of shady business that is prohibited by square. On a different note their fees are strait forward and are completely out in the open compared to other merchant service companies. Overall I have been satisfied with the product and the support staff that make it keep working. Thanks square for making a POS that is easy and powerful. Cheers.

    I started using this app for side jobs and charging customers is easy and simple it the best and it’s fast but when it comes to getting your money that’s a different story coz they make it so hard and right away they deactivate your account just because they think that your transactions are high risk ok let say that the case then when that happens they put a 90 days HOLD ON YOUR MONEY and when it’s time to pay they don’t pay it and they don’t even reply to your emails not on Facebook or instagram or nothing soon as you email them they say how can we help and ask to provide your account info after that they don’t reply it’s been over 6 months that it’s says my balance is being transferred and nothing everything is wrong about this company and I’m going to sue you guys if I don’t get my money that you guys said you were going to transfer 6 months ago..I’ve been so patient with you guys but enough is enough you got one day to fix this or don’t even try after coz I’ll see you guys in court

    So I am a small business owner trying to keep my head above water during corona and I gave this a shot to be able to provide touch less transactions for my clients so they had the option if they choose to do so so while figuring the app and card reader stuff out I had my cousin use his card and place an order for 1000 dollars I then went to transfer it to my bank when I was informed I would have to link a bank account and it could take 6 days. Ok that’s my fault should have do first. Then I get an email saying my account is under investigation and need all this info on me and my business. I mean they want records down to the first girl I’ve ever kissed type of paperwork so I submit all them they want more so I submit now my account is terminated and this is fina decision they made decided that my business they can’t help. Mind you I haven’t begun using it yet for business but now I can’t receive my money which is in limbo they said they are gonna hold it for three months til November oh and if I have questions to email no number to cal no hearing no nothing basically robbed me and my cousin out of money we were using on a test run. Nowhere did I check a box that allows you to take hold and keep my money with no hearing or justified means my money doesn’t return by end of this week I will personally make sure to post public ally every screenshot and email from them and a play by play of what they done

    After this recent update I am prompted to register my account to receive card payment. I fill out the information and get to the completed screen where it says "youre all set". When a card is swiped to receive payment I am again prompted to register my account. Its a viscous loop!!

    I used this service and app for a personal account service. To get paid for side jobs in a way I thought was more of a convenience to my customers being able to pay with a card over cash New day and age right? I would eat the processing fee’s to make a happy customer. until my account was frozen and put under review after receiving a couple hundred dollar payment. If your using this for personal use not business make sure you mark it as “miscellaneous goods” not “miscellaneous services” or anything else because even though you set it up as an individual, personal, non business account if you get “suspended” and “under review” it says 1-2 business days it took me more like 10 to finally even get to talk to someone who told me what I should do besides send me and email or a link in our chat to fill out a form that doesn’t even work correctly i.e. uploading documents. Very aggravating and frustrating that’s for sure. Because you don’t want to take anymore payments that way Incase they close your account you don’t have to go explain to your customer why they need to pay again and provide a refund and refund receipt(that’s the easiest part, especially if they have an email address) the whole “under review”/“suspension” can be drug out by square as long as they want. Why was their no problem for the first few months? Very frustrating!

    Something has happened with the app over the last several months. if you're using an Android we can no longer search transactions with keywords like the customer's name, or style of transaction for example if we did an inspection or a miscellaneous service we will always put a reference in the notes. In the past we've been able to search for certain customers by their name or transaction style and now we cannot.

    Absolutely my worst experience using an app. My very first sale was suspended by square. They took the money of course and required several documents including 3 mos bank statements, professional liscence, invoice, which is hppa protected, govt paper work. Even when uploaded they're bots wouldn't accept it. And there is literally and I mean literally no way to talk to a support person. And is very difficult to even email. Beware

    Granted I just started my own little business...but square allows me to be super mobile. I can go anywhere at any time and take payments! I get my money right away and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever. They included my own card reader for free, it arrived quickly and my customers just swipe and go! I love, love, love the ability to do this! I am horrible at maths and this includes all my sales tax, discounts, gift cards for my customers instantly..it allows me to be free of being stuck in one place. For anyone running a business that needs you to go to them I highly recommend Square Point of Sale! You can’t go wrong..and I’m grateful that they don’t charge a ton of money to do it. In my little business every cent counts and other services charge way more for smaller amounts charged. With Square I always know how much it’s going to be..no hidden fees or charges. Thank you Square! You’re an amazing tool for us that are just learning to be on our own and rockin it like a boss! Which I am, my own! I couldn’t do it without you.

    This Apps works very well and is pleasing But if it stops working all the time it is very annoying and stressful to the point where you wish you had a hammer...but seriously it is a great thing to have providing it keeps on orking when needed..cheers and thanks for the opportunity to give this review.Regards to the Square team..nd thanks for a great invention..Les.

    I love Square and it's products and have used their services for more than five years. I've processed hundreds of thousands of dollars without a single charge back from our guests. We follow all their policies and even pay higher rates for our guests convenience - Guests can pay online and always enjoy their stay more without the usual payment stress on arrival/departure. We just received an unwarranted charge-back from a dramatic old LA actress - their American Express will not pay our non-refundable charge which was accepted and signed for by their cardholder. Square will not cover it or even part of it, because they only protect a single charged amount of less than $250 once a month. This is sooo short-sided. We will no longer accept American Express Cards of course, and we will regrettably have to switch to Stripe for online purchasing.

    I have a small business and overall I am very happy with the simplicity of Square. One feature I would love to see added is the ability to add a customer to a sale after I have done another transaction. I know they keep the option open at the “All Done” screen, but sometimes I have to exit before I can add customer information. I would love to be able to add customers to the sale at the end of the day to save time. Adding customers and seeing the analytics is one of the most important features for me. Another feature I would love is the ability to edit the date for a transaction. When I get cash I don’t always remember to add it in the app. A day or two later I go to add it and it counts for sales the same day.

    got a square to have a back up payment at work since i work at a cash only business. it took. little bit to understand how to categorize items in a way that i can easily access them. the categories option really isn’t really something o understand the point of. i had to fudge around a bit with the items setting to get it to a place that works well for me and i can quickly access for customers. my main two frustrations is that i cannot customize anything. i can not get rid of “redeem rewards” even though i have no need for it, and i cannot get rid of “gift cards”. right now, this isn’t something i wanna have. but i think most of all, i can’t place the items in the order that i want; it has to be alphabetical which is nice for some businesses, but it doesn’t work for me. i would like to arrange the items in a different way. i wouldn’t even be so upset about the redeem rewards and the gift card options if i could rearrange the items bc i could just put the two at the bottom of the list so they’re not sitting on top. aside from that, a good, cheap tool to have on hand to collect payment.

    Worked perfectly until the 7/22/20 update. Now the app crashes after logging out and closing. This will be the 4th time uninstalling and reinstalling as the other troubleshooting tips do not work. Thankfully we are not open today. Unacceptable for an app that worked flawlessly since we opened 3 months ago.

    I’ve been using Square for a very long time. In the past, all my reviews have been glowing. Not so much today. I called customer service to help with an issue with the gift cards. I did get my issue resolved, and the rep in the other end was helpful, once she understood my problem. BUT! The background noises were absolutely horrendous. At one point. I couldn’t tell if she was talking to me, or someone else was talking to me. One of the men in the background was so loud that I could tell the rep exactly what he was saying to the other customer. Not only is this VERY distracting, there is an issue of privacy. The rep told me she didn’t know how I was hearing the guy, as he was quite a distance from her. Believe me I HEARD THE GUY. There were also many other voices muddying our conversation. It just sounds very unprofessional and makes square sounds like they’re operating a “sweat shop”. Not good Square. Step up and get better headphones for your employees or put some kind of barrier between reps.

  • iOS 12.4.8 for iPad Air 1 not recognized by square stand Aug 5, 2020

    My business restarted a couple days ago, and all of sudden my iPad Air 1 (original version) is not recognized by square stand. It was working perfectly before covid-19. I replaced a brand new stand and is still not working. So it must be the iPad Air 1, I think, then I wipe my iPad Air to its factory settings and it’s not working either. Now I think it’s the IOS version that messed up the charging port functionality. Currently the most updated iOS for iPad Air 1 is version 12.4.8 and it’s not able to upgrade to any iOS 13 and up version. And I borrowed and tested An iPad 5th generation with iOS 13, the square stand can work without any problems. Also I tried another iPad Air 1with most updated iOS and its not recognized by square stand. Is there any technical representative can help to solve this issue? Thanks in advance.

    I have several businesses and have used Square almost from their very start. As a service company Square is an awesome pay on the spot company. If you are a one man show. (Would be nice if I could give tech a receive only login, without full access.) I have just opened a glass company and decided to use Square as well. This has been rough. The POC system is great. Setting it up is easy once you learn to navigate the system. My main issue has been printing a receipt. Try to print them from email they look bad, very bad. Don’t have a lot of cash so bought a Bluetooth thermo printer and it works with everything even prints my photos but Square only supports very expensive printers from one brand. Why can’t Square print to a linked printer? Everything else can. Awesome system in every way as long as you don’t give receipts.

    No contract is nice but Square is an expensive processor. The wireless readers are flawed and disconnect often. This slows down service. To get past this problem I baught a square register and ordered a Square terminl. The register works great but we need something portable. The Termina never showed up. I ordered it 1 month ago on a 5-7 day delivery . Customer serviwe, no help. have to hang the Register out the drivethru window to get a signature. $1400 later still using wireless readers.

    Recent update now causing sync issues with weebly. I used to be able to add items on square then add them to my website easily but now it won't sync at all. I created an item on square and had to create again on weebly. A big pain and a waste in having both apps.

    I get "restore internet connection" a lot when opening the app when I'm on wifi and have cell service. I have to force close the app and restart it for it to then work. Also, connecting the card reader takes way too long to establish connection. It's obnoxious

    This app works ok, but we have definitely run into some issues with it since the stay at home restrictions. The manually entered fees are killing all the small businesses. We have to enter credit cards manually or through a square invoice and both fees are so high for us at a time when we are not getting our usual traffic. When I saw it mentioned in the Square Community I asked about it to and they said they wouldn’t lower fees, even temporarily to help the small businesses community that made them who they are. Very disappointed. Then another reason for the 2 stars is because if someone receives a digital gift card or regular gift card they can’t apply it as payment to a Square Invoice! Square, please fix that. I have people gifting gift cards then the customer can’t use them when they place an order. Help the small businesses, lower the manually entered & Square Invoice fees temporarily till the virus passes, even just the 30 cents or 1%, anything is better than nothing!

    Latest update, my square app keeps crashing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. Just tried again to see if issue fixed and crashed, uninstalling and reinstalling again. Very frustrating! Lost lots of credit card sales over this past weekend. Not happy! Even my recently purchased terminal didn't work.
