  • Love this game Oct 30, 2017

I’m obsessed with these types of games and this is definitely one of my favorites. I really like the fact that it does not require you to pay to complete all the levels. Most of the puzzles are pretty challenging and really make you think. However there were quite a few of them that were a little too difficult and even after watching a walkthrough video the solutions made no sense tome. That is the main reason I didn’t give 5 stars. I did like the fact that you can watch a video to gain a hint but sometimes the hints either didn’t make any sense or the hint given was for steps I had already taken and it didn’t help me at all. But I guess I really can’t complain since I didn’t have to pay for the hint 🙂. Overall this is a great game and I enjoyed playing it. I’ve finished all the levels available and I’m excited for the new levels to be released.

I really enjoyed these games, and have played a lot of them. This is one of the best ones I have found. I intend to get as many by this game company as I can. Here is what I like about it: 1. Everything works – – no technical glitches. 2. The hints are inexpensive and work really well. You can accumulate points for free ones, or you can buy a pack of them for a reasonable price. 3. The puzzles are varied, and have more to them than just random tapping until you solve. They require some thought, and—unlike some games—the solutions do make sense. 4. The rooms on each level relate to each other, and you go back and forth with things you have found. What you pick up in one room may be needed in another. 5. Some games drive me nuts, because you can be within 3 inches of an object, and it will still magnify even if you have used it. This one doesn’t do that. Sometimes you do have to be pretty precise in your tapping, so this would probably be easier on a tablet than on the smart phone I am using. Amending my earlier statement: I have run into a very frustrating section in Afterlite, where the puzzle is boringly random and I don’t get an option from Hints. I guess I will have to stop here.

It is a nice challanging games and I kinda like challanging games it has 3 chapters and like 5 games in it. It is so freakishly the best game I have ever seen. And you know I have been making escape rooms from it and it had been so much fun and harderor I can say I make the hardest game ever just like it. It so good and.... hope you guys like it.

I have really enjoyed playing this. The puzzles are clever and challenging and it is satisfying to finally put clues together. The artwork is well done too. But I am completely stuck on the White Collar level. The hints aren’t helping and even after watching walkthrough videos and trying the exact same thing, I can’t make sense of the camera/ x on wall, the whiteboard with the dots, or the laser puzzle - which actually doesn’t even seem to work like it appears in the walkthrough, so maybe it’s a glitch. I wish I could just give up on this level and move to the next one, but the next levels are locked until I can solve it.

I was having fun playing this game on my iPhone. And then within the first hour, what would happen either after I had solve the mini puzzle and an ad would pop up that covered the whole screen that you couldn't close, I would have to close the app. And I would lose all progress. It would tell me it looks like I saved progress on a different device and what I like to merge the two. The only problem is I do not have the game on any other device. I also tried pausing the game and exiting to the main menu a couple times, and I would lose all progress. After losing all of my progress about eight different times, I came on here to contact tech-support. But the tech-support link goes to a generic Zen desk Paige are you signed up for a trial of Zen desk, no where is their support for the app. It's fine until you keep losing all of your progress and have to start from scratch, and no way to get any help. Unfortunately that's why I give it a one. I would love to play it if that issue could be fixed.

I spent the whole day trying to solve the level of the three floppy disks which the 3rd one presents errors because it's contradictory. When the number is right in the column it's wrong in the line. This was a very frustrating experience and you don't update this app since last year. What a shame guys.

I play a lot of these types of games. The first couple chapters were easy. Then it turned into a nice challenge. Then it turned into “where in the fudge factory did they come up with that?!” Even with the walkthrough side by side, these codes and passwords make absolutely no sense. For example in white collar with the clock- You are supposed to garner that the first time is 10:40 because of the roman numeral XVIII (uhhh, no idea where that was located, something to do with a moon and tower in some posters you can’t even zoom on?) Also have no idea how that even converts logically into “of course it’s 10 and 8 with the ten being the hour and the 8 as the minute hand.” THEN you have to figure out that the second time to enter is 3:35 because “the dog is at 3 and cancer is 7 which means 35.” WHAT?!

Fun but way, way too hard. The concept itself is thrilling, I was hooked from the first second. However, in my opinion, the levels were almost all too hard, which ended up making it feel like a chore. I kept having to watch ads to get clues because it was so random. Today, I got the code right for a drawer but the game still wouldn't open it even after I restarted. In the end, I reluctantly uninstalled this and Spotlight X (which I had completed without help). Change this, and it'll be perfect.

Super in depth, multi-step puzzles with spooky graphics and a good story line! At times I had difficult following the logic of some of the puzzles, and the hints would just black out the screen and take you back to the same spot you were just at... so I would fix that. Still, I was able to use a walkthrough video at one point for a place I was 100% stuck. My favorite part of the game is that it would give a description of objects when you click on them, which is a big help given it can be difficult to ID everything when playing on a small iPhone screen. Overall, this is the favorite escape room game I’ve ever played. Really excited about new levels! ❤️

I dont usually write reviews, but this game deserves it. I have always loved escape games, but hated how little story some of them give you. Most of them are just like "have room, escape", this one confuses you and leaves you wanting more. It really places that atmosphere of "try to escape" rather than just something to do in your spare time. Have had this on my wishlist for a while before downloading, recommend it to my friends if they ask about escape games.

By far one of the best escape games in the App Store. Don’t be fooled by the lack of ratings; download it. Each level is intense, much unlike the Can You Escape series, which took me an hour or so to clear all 10 levels... It took me an hour plus to clear each level of Spotlight, even after I purchased the unlimited clues. What’s more, by the time I finished the entire game, I was able to start over and didn’t recall half of the clues. Well worth my $20 purchase (for the unlimited clues, although you start with 3 free and can purchase one here or there for much less). I loved that it was challenging and that each level features multiple rooms/areas. Use your clues wisely. They are not per level, they are per game. One of my favorite factors to this game, aside from the great scenes and storyline, is that it tells you/enlarges the items are in your inventory. This is especially useful when you’re playing on a phone and can’t see the icon. I can’t wait for more levels. Keep ‘em coming!

Pretty great game with challenging levels; definitely recommended! On the downside, I also have to agree with some other comments that sometimes you try a specific move and it doesn't work, but after a hint, it does. Although one time exiting the game and reopening it seemed to make it work? In any case, that can be irritating. Overall though, if you like escape room type games, this is a lot of fun :) Side note: also noticed references to Estonia throughout the game (yay eestlased! 🥳).

  • Good, but... Dec 24, 2019

Its clear a lot of effort went into the game, the puzzles were fun and rewarding to figure out. Even the difficulty in finding items i can somewhat understand, although with the low resolution of the pictures, it is nigh impossible to see what is important. But there were a good few times where i looked up a walkthrough just to find out that there was am entire puzzles leading to areas i had missed because i hadnt tapped on the exact right spot. When it was next to an arrow it was especially frustrating. At least make an option to highlight places you can zoom in on, developers. Good game, great puzzle, but it has that big drawback.

  • Great game but... Nov 3, 2017

I’m a connoisseur of escape games. This one started out awesome. Great graphics, really challenging puzzles and built in hint system (you get 3 free). As it went on though, the solutions became more obscure, having to use some items where they really made no sense. Also, some of the puzzles, even when I had the solution made absolutely no sense (triangle floor board, antler clock). Puzzles like this made me believe they intentionally put impossible puzzles in just so you would pay for hints. After a couple of these, I lost interest because I wasn’t sure if the puzzles were actually solvable. I will probably finish but hopefully the developers will take that into account on future episodes. I get that it’s a free game but I would much rather pay for a fair game than get one for free that’s intentionally devious.

So when I first got this game I loved! It was challenging though. But there are levels and on the third level I got stuck on part where you have to put the beer bottle on the infrared scanner. So I did like a million hints to get it(they were free). But I just couldn’t understand on how to get it right bc the screen on cash register was black and said Please Authorize and the screen on the hint that I did was white like a normal cash register. It’s so stupid I am still trying get it right! The developers really really need to change this. I just don’t get it. I may be stupid but still it’s annoying. Idk if other people had this problem. But I did. This is so stupid. I think I may delete this game ... AGAIN!

Giving three stars because the game is great! But taking out two stars because the screen doesn't rotate both ways and sometimes it gets stuck and zoom in when some random as pops up. You guys have to fix that asap. Level 5 of Ch.1 is incredibly difficult but still trying to get thru it please fix those small bugs and glitches inside the game.

I love these type of clue games BUT Numerous times so far in the game where I thought I was getting “stumped” and have had to use clues for assistance, only to find out I was on the right track all along. Sometimes the game is not registering that I touched a specific area of the game. I just watched a video clue of opening the cash register - which I know I had already done so several times. I had to hit the green button image about 8X before it did anything!

The game is very good but i am very disappointed and annoyed at the layout of the ads and arrow buttons. Because of them i am stuck at level 5 Atterlife, i can see there is a bottle hidden at lower shelf cupboard in the level but i cant reach it because the stupid arrow is in the way so therefore i am stuck now. Idk what to do, ppease fix this, i have done the floppy disks and everything, its just the layout of the game is a problem.

The game is mostly fun BUT keep in mind that very quickly the puzzles STOP MAKING SENSE. It's not a cultural thing, you're not stupid, it just omits logic for the sake of making ad revenue. Later puzzles CANNOT be logically solved and if you say you did, you're a liar. Because, it's clear that most of the puzzles were changed but the clues weren't updated. Which means you NEED to either pay for coins OR watch ads for hints. Pretty shady business tactics.

In Menace. The bottle which goes with the key card from the pool table to open the cash register does not exist in my version. Therefore I cannot open the cash register and finish that level. There is another bottle opposite the cash register which I did scan to get the cash register operational, but the second bottle on the pool table does not exist. Waste of time. I like it that the developer responded to my review but that took a while, so I had already deleted the game off my iPad. I do not believe the solution that was proposed would have worked in my case. I have gone on to other games. The developer once again responded but I deleted the game long ago when nothing worked. Maybe it works now.

  • Not that great... Dec 11, 2019

It’s decent for the first chapter or so but the puzzles and some of the conclusion the game comes up with actually don’t make very much sense at least for a casual mobile gamer like myself. I’m really only giving this a 2 star because there aren’t many mystery puzzle solvers out there otherwise it’d be a strong 1 star. Common sense and good puzzle solving is very lackluster at times and countless times I’ve watched a “show” video showing how to complete the current puzzle but quite a few times I was left thinking “does that even make sense?”. Anyways game is mediocre at best.

If I could give this game a NEGATIVE star rating I would. Do NOT play this with an iPad. A few times I knew I had completed a scene and the game wouldn’t progress only to find out that some items were not visible (on right edge of screen) on an iPad. This is due to the Menu Bar being too wide. Either make the bar narrower or give the option of minimizing it LIKE THE OTHER BETTER GAMES OUT THERE! Also one puzzle I did correctly only to be taken to an Apple Music ad. When you touched the screen the game would crash! After doing it several times, I noticed a very very tiny “No Thanks” at the bottom right of the screen that was purposely blended in with the background making it almost impossible to see. The developers need to address this...but am sure they won’t. Stay away!

This game is rigged where you have to watch ads to get hints and the actions don't work until you've watched the hint. I clicked on a book, for example, and nothing happened. Eventually gave in and watched an ad to get a hint and it showed that I had to click on the same exact book that did nothing before. So it's an ad machine basically. Don't waste your time.
