This is the best music app for me! I especially like that random people can also post songs. But the one thing that's annoying me is when something else starts playing instead of the music and the music stops, after the ad the notification to play or skip it isn't there anymore and I have to go in the app to play the music again. This isn't much of a problem but it's really annoying. Other than that, I recommend this app to people who love music strongly. There's also little ads and bugs.

SoundCloud is absolutely incredible! I love to post my tunes on SoundCloud for friends and fam to listen to, and to store them too! I love to find new songs or even remixes of songs I love! It’s great bc I can listen to my fave artists for free, and I don’t mind the adds even! I love the dark mode built into the app, it looks great! I would personally suggest using SoundCloud to my friends and fam and others for music streaming for free or with Go or Go+. I only would like to say, it is disappointing when I post a song and am sure it is mine only, but the system says I’m copyrighting another song. I can’t pay to copyright my music, let alone prove it’s mine, and even if I could, I wouldn’t pay to copyright my tunes bc I’m NOT POPULAR AT ALL! I only have 16 followers, most of which r prob scam bc they all look alike and say about the same thing, “get known now for free” or “share your music easily and quickly by tapping this link!” or something of the sort, which is lame bc they r FAULSE! Complete fakes! I also wanted to let you know, I can’t view my all played history anymore in the app! It’s sad, the button is visible, “See more listening history” but whenever I click it, it won’t let me view my history, but I want to see all my history! If u could fix this annoying glitch that would be awesome! I love looking through my history and miss it! Thank you for a wonderful service!

The app is really good and ads only come up once in a while tbh. When they do come up they're usually about 30 seconds long. The thing is you cant get every song for free, some songs you have to pay for which can be quite annoying. But apart from that I really like it
  • It’s a pretty good app, but.... May 10, 2021

I had this app before and I liked it. I was able to find some of my favorite songs well and I was still able to enjoy my songs outside an app! The reason why I’m giving this app a three is over three reasons. First reason, when this app is for 12 year olds and up....it really isn’t for some people. The comment section ruins the app a bit. I say this because there will be people being disrespectful, swearing, and sending links along with weird messages on a random song! That’s definitely something you wouldn’t wanna see when listening to music. The app needs more control over the comment section, which would be censoring curtain topics and words. Second reason, the premium for this app is kind of dumb. Why would you need a premium to be able to listen to famous singers / writers and their songs? That’s also another thing that ruins the app, I couldn’t even listen to a favorite song I like when I needed a premium for it! It’s not worth the money to buy a premium. Final reason....the ads. I know this is a big issue with other apps, but I feel like the ads in this app pop up too much. It ruins your time listening to music. Whenever I encountered an ad, it wasn’t fun to listen to. It also wasn’t fun when most of them were long and you couldn’t skip them. The app is good, it just needs to be fixed in certain places. That’s all I have for this review.

I really appreciate this application, its songs catalogue is very extensive whatever the country you are targeting and it brings me a real comfort better than streaming applications that I won't quote. Thanks to its way of working based on the sharing, the songs catalogue is less influenced by the fashion or the trade policies and that's a good thing. Sick of all these applications that make you to listen to the new trends.

SoundCloud is great but there are a lot of glitches with playlists that need to be fixed. Trying to rearrange your songs in your own playlists is a hassle, it takes multiple tries to get the song to permanently move because it often just reverts back to where it was right after you moved it. I always have to close then reopen the open to check and make sure my songs moved to where I wanted them to. Also the icons you can upload for your playlist cover never seem to update unless you actually open up and go into the playlist. This doesn’t seem to be much of an issue on the desktop but on mobile my set display cover is never what I picked, it’s usually automatically always the same picture as the first song in that playlist. This gets really irritating because if I want people to check out my playlists, the first thing they see is the display image and I would rather them see the one I chose than of the picture from someone’s track! Lastly, please incorporate the option to move around your playlists. I have playlists from months ago that are at the way end of my profile and would rather have some of those at the forefront of my profile when you visit it. Really hope you consider ideas to fix these problems. Otherwise great app and I’ll always be a user.

I love this app. Great music, the majority of which is very easy to listen. My only problem is the adds; not the fact that there is ads, but how many there are. It was ok before, but for some reason there's now an ad after every single song. I'm not saying get rid of the ads though, I'm saying too (at least) have shorter ads as the current length as how current amount of ads can get very frustrating. (I'm sorry for any grammatical errors.)

The app works great, in my opinion it’s the best music app ever. It’s free and can actually pick what song you want to listen to whenever you want to listen to it, all with very little ads. You can pay to have the app ad free but no need for that. Also when you pay you can download songs for offline listening but I’ve noticed that if you put a song on a playlist and listened to it before at least once that it doesn’t have to load the next time you listen to the song so there is no need for paying. The only bad thing is there is this one thing called SoundCloud weekly on the homepage and it recamends you songs... but all the songs are usually really old like 1-3 years old, so I would like if it would recommend songs that are newer. Other than that if you live in a family that has very little money and you love to listen to music like I do (bus ride to school, bus ride home, when I play basketball, when I wanna jam out) and stuff like that it’s perfect. So SoundCloud if you see this please keep the app the way you have it. But maybe different color ways. I like when music apps change their color ways!

I love this application. It provides you the liberty and constructive creativity to manage your profile to your likeness. Absolutely love the interactive connections between listeners, promoters, song writers, managers, producers, vocalists, etc. very profitable where downloading and uploading tracks from past and present eras all on one platform. User friendly. And most of all to be a user and have the freedom to be creative in your own way without judgement and persecution is what artistry is about. However upon the new upgrade I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or bug, but while editing my playlist it states that editing has failed and a notification pops up advising me to check my internet. I have two devices that use its platform. One for home and the other for travel. I’m not sure if other users or subscribers have came across this issue, and if not maybe it’s just other entities performing cybercrime activities on my devices. More evidence on my behalf anyways.

SoundCloud is bad if you're an artist. They have a monetization policy whereby artists actually have to pay for the privilege of accessing basic features, eg "potential" monetization of music, which is a joke. But if people are infringing your copyrights, you have to go through hoops of fire and insane beurocracy just to be able to claim YOUR OWN MUSIC! A totally wretched company. Bandcamp is the absolute best compared to the horror show SoundCloud is.

Absolutely horrid app. When it works it works fine, but that's so rare that it may as well not happen at all. The app lags and freezes constantly, it takes more than 10 seconds to skip a song, and songs will often refuse to play so I have to open the app and manually skip it. The buttons on the android player will also change spots at random, so I cant just use muscle memory to skip a song, because it might unlike a track instead. I spent 30 mins trying to get it to work today. I've had enough.

I love SoundCloud cause it has a lot of hidden goodies. That being said, the app hardly ever opens for me and when it does most of the time it's blank and I can't play anything. When it works it's awesome, but it almost always crashes without fail. Make of it what you will.

  • App terrible interface but desktop great! Make them the same! Sep 17, 2018

By Music computer guy works great
The app is so terrible compared to the desktop version. The searches never come up the they do on desktop, I never see my page with my spotlight 5 tracks when I open it up, i have to scroll forever just to get to what is normally right there on my desktop.... the app gets ZERO. As an artist and some one and I are talking about music and who I like and what I sound like I’d like to be able to easily show them or find the name of the musician I was listening too earlier that day etc. I have more specific complaints but these are the ones that come to mind. The ‘usability’ and ease of interface is just terrible on the app version. I gave an 8 or something for the recommendation of SoundCloud to people but , it would have been a 10 if the stupid interface on the app wasn’t so clunky. The two interfaces (desk and app) should look and work essentially the same. A girl told me it was impossible for her to figure out how to repost my song on the app version. she gave up in frustration. In some way that reflects on me and I lost a precious repost. Also I’d like to be able to link my two accounts , even if it is just slightly more a month to have both on premium. That last note is not about the app obviously. Thanks for listening.

  • Ads!!!!!!!!! Dec 25, 2019

    By Merakkii
I love the music I can find on the SoundCloud platform but I cannot STAND the way you have set up users to consume ads! Firstly, there used to be a way to skip most ads after 15 seconds but that feature seems to have been completely removed. Next, you guys place an ad after almost EVERYYYYY song and not to mention the fact that you also have put ads BEFORE a song plays when you manually change songs! The app is only good because of the ARTISTS music that we have access to, but this app/platform is losing me day-by-day and makes me want to download the music and get off the app altogether!!!!!!! Lastly, one of the most annoying parts of your ad setup is the fact that when you do click another song and an ad plays——— YOU CAN’T LEAVE THE *BLEEPING* APP!!!!! You HAVEEEE to let the 30 second ad play fully in its entirety with no ability to skip halfway through or to close the app to listen while continuing to do something else on another app like most do! I guess you can just do like me and close/relaunch the app a million times but it’s getting absolutely so ridiculous and frustrating that I had to let SOMEONE who might be involved in this terrible setup know it needs to be fixed or DRAMATICALLY reduced!!!!!!!
  • Lots of minor/medium problems May 19, 2020

SoundCloud is fine. I like that it’s free. There are some songs, like Elise by The Greeting Committee, that used to be free but now require a premium for you to listen to. I’d prefer if more were free, but beggars can’t be choosers. Anyways, I don’t even know if that decision is up to SoundCloud or the individual creators. There are some more glaring problems, though. For one, when I try to scroll down quickly, the app gets really laggy, shows me one frame a second, and scrolls down incredibly slow. It’s infuriating when I’m trying to go low down in my likes songs. Another issue is finding when a song was posted or looking at its description. Both of these are impossible on the SoundCloud app. It seems that the developers only care about the computer version of SoundCloud, when it is much, much better as a mobile app. I have no clue why you would focus on the computer more. It’s not like I can carry a computer in my pocket while it’s connected to headphones or anything. Also, when someone replies to one of my comments I’d like to be notified. This one is just a small suggestion. I usually like the app, but it needs major, major polishing. Please update it!
  • Jun 18, 2021

I took a one month free trial for which you must produce a card to get it. Up to this point in time everything was ok. However, attempting to cancel premium at the end of the trial is impossible. There is seemingly no way to do it. Thus I had to go through hoops to get this beast cancelled and my money back. Do not seek out any freebies of any kind with SoundCloud it's not worth the aggravation. SoundCloud is an apparently non US company. Be careful with all freebie.

I referred maybe 10 friends already to this app. This last version. I took a chance and still downloaded it, it’s broken. Crashes on each song I play. Maybe you should stop running all those ads? Every 2 songs there is a new ad “please upgrade to SoundCloud go” you have now convinced me why I shouldn’t update and wait for jailbreaks to block all those ads. You want to tarnish your name so bad that you put so many ads that it crashes your app. Good job! Driving back from a outing and sitting with a girl listening to ads, awesome. Why would I do that? I already pay for other things. We normal people can’t afford to buy so many useless subscriptions here and there. I can’t believe this. Also seriously, what happened to the easy way to get to playlists? They used to be big icons easy to click now as I am driving I can barely see my icons which discourages me from using this app, if I can’t see my playlists I won’t use the app. Period. I’m a veteran user from iPhone 5 (7.0.4) to iPhone X finally and each upgrade I get with my phones your app gets worse. How is that for useless programming?

Man. Okay, so I've done monthly SoundCloud for $9.99 for about 3 years and I really love it. It's sort of chaotic, which is why it's great. if you look up a song, you may not find the song you're looking for, but you'll find 45 remixes of it and 12 covers of it. I've found so much great music accidentally of SoundCloud because there seems to be no rules until a song gets too big and it randomly disappears, which can be disappointing.

SoundCloud has improved over time; I've been using the app since 2012. The search bar for the playlists is useful. I've never subscribed and I never need to. All the music I want to listen to is already there in full songs. Ive gathered a collection of over 900 playlists and over 1,500 songs I like. I like checking out what other people are listening to. The only thing I would change about the SoundCloud app is to create a section to send messages to other people.

First and foremost: Thank you Soundcloud, you are brilliant! You have somehow managed to accomplish the impossible: create a global platform for musical expression for artists who otherwise would never be heard AND deliver that to we humans hungry for food-medicine-energy that IS original music without bowing to cavalier monetization. Haven't a clue how you surpassed Apple, Google, Pandora and the rest save only for how amazingly perfect a team you have created. You are the Shaolin Monks of Music. You ARE the revolution. That said, you new App is genius! Crisp, clean, low footprint, perfect maximization of OS and platform utilization and the aesthetic attention to detail is both subtle and sublime. Outstanding accomplishment! As far as the whiners who confuse web with apps and have never coded a line - ignore them; this version of you app reflects the excellence and vision that guides your exquisite and critically necessary presence on earth. Gratitude sisters & brothers - inspired use of tech & heart - love this app!
  • Lovin it, but a few issues tho Mar 8, 2018

    By Where's my water (free)
I’ve been using SoundCloud for quite while, and, I’ve got to say, this is the very best music application I’ve ever used. However, I spotted some issues with its latest update. I know that you’ve gotten rid of the tab for the music thingy (idk what to call it) and it’s now much easier to access now that it’s on the bottom, but when I tried moving around all of my music, instead it just brang that up and so it made it really annoying and difficult to edit. One other thing I found was that it never automatically replayed my songs, so I have to do it manually every time. It usually works, but most of the time, but this actually takes place whenever it’s playing the last song in any of my playlists. Other than these two things that hopefully you guys are able to fix, I’d say that SoundCloud is a really great app to use for any kind of music-related activity. -SquirtleXD

It’s by far the best music and created platform out there yes there are flaws but not many every week you get a personal list of songs recommended for you from your listening history so you can discover more music and Artist you may like unlike other music platforms you can upload to and you can support small artists to help them grow it shows you the other side of music you have been missing out on my taste in music has changed so much for the better because of SoundCloud. You can find it or songs from popular artists today and see how they started you can’t get that anywhere else. It’s so easy to find the music you like and it will help you grown as a person to. I been using it for 1 and a half now and it gets better every day the best thing is it’s free and SoundCloud go is only 5 bucks it’s worth it. So all in all if you want to grown as a listener or start your career use SoundCloud.

I love SoundCloud i tell everybody about it it has a great mix or new and old artists. From people who are already big to helping others reach that goal, that’s one of the reasons I love SoundCloud. However, I just got an iPhone and im not able to “add next” to my songs which means instead of being able to in a sense create a playlist I have to go look and wait for one song to be completely over then click my other one.. Instead of just have it play next and be ready. I have no idea why this was removed or if it’s just for iPhones or what but it’s terrible. I would love if this feature is back so i can stop having to look through my 300+ songs play the one I want next instead of just adding it to the que . Bring back the add next buttons and the button that allows me to see what’s playing next and so I’m able to switch them. Bring them back!

  • Very good but some issues Feb 5, 2018

So I’ve been using this app for the past 3 years and it has been amazing, but somethings I would wish could change as well as some issues I’ve ran into. The first thing is the UI, if I type in a song and I spell it wrong I wish it could put up something close to that and not say “ No Results”. Second thing is that I wish when you went into your saved playlist that you would start at the bottom or the newest song and not the top, but those I can live with so I own an IPhone X, I’m not showing off or anything but this thing has amazing speakers and for some reason when I play a song it crackles and pops which is soooo annoying, I’m an audio geek and I can not listen to a song when it cracks and pops it’s just infuriating. And the last thing is something that I’ve wanted for so long is to be able to post songs from your phone because not all of us own computers, and or laptops but the option to be able to post songs from your phone would be awesome. I hope you bring these ideas in consideration and hopefully are able to fix that bug but anyways I love this app and this is the only way to listen to songs that are posted by non singers or artists.

Hello I’ve been a SoundCloud user since 2012 but didn’t really get into it until 2013. I would like to say SoundCloud is fantastic. However, I have problems listening to music without it cutting off every 30 seconds. Then once I press play, the same thing keeps happening. Also, as someone that makes music, I hate that there’s a pay wall behind me seeing simple things as who’s listening all over the world. Why should I by SoundCloud Go just to see things like that? The least I’m buying it for is playing music offline, that’s about it. Aside from that, I feel like SoundCloud Go is just not even worth it. I liked using SoundCloud until y’all introduced SoundCloud Go. Which basically limited us from listening to big artist on there giving us 30 seconds of a song just so we can buy that pay wall to listen to a full song we can listen to on other music apps. Not to mention the spotlight on our profiles. Are you seriously going to make us pay for that? That’s like paying $5 just to pin a tweet on Twitter. All I’m saying is I love SoundCloud, but I can’t stand it when they’re trying to beat around the bush just to make us pay for something.

soundcloud is a great free music app. i use this to find mostly all of my songs if they are available. i do get quite upset when you can't find a song, or you can't listen to songs without go+. sometimes when i am listening to music, it just turns off and i have to go back into the app, and turn the music back on. this can be very annoying, but i just deal with it. other than a few problems the app is very good overall

I have been a Soundcloud Go user for several years now. I have no problem paying for this subscription because I love this app, however there are issues which I feel if addressed, could make this app much better. For years I have dealt with tracks out of my likes being deleted or removed. I understand many of these tracks are leaked and therefore are not supposed to be on the app, however this is not the case for all songs that are removed. There is nothing worse than wanting to listen to a song and not being able to find it. Out of my 1,500 + likes I cannot remember the names of all songs I like. I believe if these tracks are deleted it would be very helpful that instead of them simply being taken down, they should still exist in your likes, even if you can’t listen to them. This way, I’m not really losing my music. I’d still be able to find the songs elsewhere, it’s just so frustrating having music disappear. Please address this issue. Also fix your search algorithms!! Neither of these issues seem like they would be difficult to address. Please fix for the sake of users!! Makes me rethink paying my subscription.
  • SoundCloud Says Something’s Wrong with my Email Jun 3, 2021

Hello, if you are reading this, please do. I want to tell you people that... Well... I don’t know how to start, but... When I was using SoundCloud one day, it randomly signed me out when I was just listening to a song. And I tried signing back in on my iPhone, but it said, “Error: Sorry, we couldn’t sign you in. Please check that you have already created an account and have entered the correct account details.” But it was the exact, and only email I’ve ever used on SoundCloud. I tried doing this a couple of more times, and it still kept saying it didn’t exist/wrong email details. I kept trying to sign back in for weeks, and it still doesn’t work. I tried to do “I forgot my password”, and when I inserted my email, it said something something went wrong. It’s not the password, or it would have said I put the wrong password. SoundCloud, please fix this. It says my email is wrong. And I am not making another account. I already have over 50 followers, and I don’t want to start all over again. Thank you, and other reviewers, for reading this. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Happy Summer!

I’ve had this app for around 3 years and I had around 300 sounds that I had in my liked section because all of them wouldn’t fit in a playlist and I was okay with it. During those 3 years I loved it because I like underground rappers starting from SoundCloud and rising to the top and I would always search for new artist just so I wouldn’t have the same music as everybody else and I’d always show my friends and they’d always ask who it is and for me that’s a compliment cause putting someone on a new artist always makes me feel like that boy. But anyways a couple days ago when I was going to show my friend a couple new songs I found I went to the like section and all of my music that I had liked were gone. All those 3 years of searching for new music that little to no one has heard before done the drain and y’all don’t know how sad I felt cause now I’m never going to get to listen to those songs again because I dug really deep to find them and I’m not going to waste my time searching for it again. Soundcloud staff members, if you happen to see this please pleaseeee let me know if there’s anyway you guys can get my music back that’s all I want😭

Pretty hood. Only problem is the good songs are paid for. I have an issue that I've never had before: I want to listen to 4 songs I have in a Playlist, yet the other day I added another one directly to the "next up" but now I can't get it to go away. No matter what Playlist I click on or what I do it stays there. Please help [edit] I fixed it but I had to delete and re install the app to do so. Not very promising for a road trip with no wifi
  • It’s a pretty good app, but.... May 10, 2021

    By ImAKiwi101
  • Playlist Organization Nov 27, 2019

    By _shannon

I wish we could delete individual songs from our history too and i wish we could hear playlists offline too... And some songs are 'Not Available In Your Country'... But other than that, it's fine. And also, I wish that it didn't start playing songs automatically...

the UI is pretty pleasant to use and I've got to admit that it's actually user-friendly, however, the only issue is that it randomly crashes for no particular reason. I've tested it on several devices and it crashes on all of them. Some other users have mentioned this problem. I hope it gets solved soon.
  • I like it for music, I guess. Aug 8, 2019

    By Souple's soup
I think what truly ruins the experience is the same culprit that could ruin any music app, ads are one of the main reasons I dislike using this app, they’re long, repetitive, and after a while become very annoying. It doesn’t help that the only ads you get are anti-smoking, I get it, smoking is bad, guys. But can we get some different ads, maybe instead of interrupting the music experience, just do pop-ups, at least get some new shorter ads. And don’t give us the option to skip ads if the ad ends before the skip timer, its infuriating. The timer will be 30 seconds and the ad will end just before. Don’t give us the option if we can’t use it. This has become more of a review on anti-smoking ads. I don’t smoke and I find these ads annoying, they’re deliberately unnerving. They don’t make me thinking “stop smoking” they make me think “ew why, I don’t even smoke why I’m I forced to endure this”. Besides this I think there’s a genre for everyone here, and you can find some nice music here that you can’t hear on the radio, though I’m mostly here for the soundclown memes.
  • not horrible, but not perfect Jun 8, 2020

    By TheDemon_Adelaide
there are many minor issue about the app, like how you cant re arrange your liked songs and have to add every song to a playlist to control their positions (which i dont understand why thats even a thing). But the main 2 issues i have with this is the amount of times the app refreshes after its opened, to the point where it becomes the norm, and the amount of ads it give. The app constantly gives me ads in between songs and ruin the vibe, i could be listening to some sentimental music at high volume then get cut off by some guy talking about a brand new car i never knew even existed, exploading my ears by how loud the ads are, and not only that, sometimes it gives me 2 ads back to back, both 30 whole seconds, making me waste an entire minute listening to ads when i could of been done with the second song in the queue. many problems occur in the app, but other than that, the music is crispy, they give a variaty of different music every week, and it can play in the background. Its a fairly good app but its not perfect.

Ok, never thought I would write one of these, but I need to set this straight, just in case I’m not crazy. I love soundcloud, I really do. I’ve been using it for ages and it’s one of the only music apps that lets you stream underground music instead of mainstream music, of which I listen to more often. However, it was definitely better before. Not sure when, but years ago I used SoundCloud ad free without payment. It was awesome, it really was, and ads came up maybe one a day. However, one day, more and more ads came up, however I could skip them after like five seconds, so it was fine. But recently, around a couple months, I’ve been getting 30 second non skippable ads that come up after every like two songs. This is absolutely outrageous. I don’t mind an ad or two, but this many is just awe full. If you are going to throw ads at me like this, use banners. Really. And if you still can’t do THAT, at least make the ads easily skippable, and definitely not 30 seconds. No one is going to see this I’m guessing but I had to vent.
  • GO+ problem May 3, 2020

    By CloudPuffRainbow
So I was loving the app until I woke up this afternoon and came to see more than half my songs were suddenly GO+ when before they were free. I’m seriously freaking out because all of my favorite songs are now previews and I have no idea what to do. I tried to see if anyone else was having problems in the comment sections and it seems like no one else is having this same problem. I seriously do not want to switch over to another music app just because SoundCloud decided to make half the songs GO+. And I’m not just talking about 1 artist suddenly switching from free to GO+ I’m saying multiple artists songs I have saved are GO+ now so it’s not an singular artist I’m talking about. Unless these artist just happened to talk to each other and decided “Hey why don’t we make our songs GO+ for no reason at all!”. Now that’s me being sarcastic, but I’m seriously freaking out because I can’t live through quarantine without my music. Please SoundCloud do something about this and don’t just scroll by ignoring the people’s problems.
  • Soundcloud is okay... but could use work in certain areas! Apr 1, 2021

soundcloud is great i’ve always loved it but there’s so many songs that i can’t listen to because i don’t pay money every month??? there’s other apps i could download for music where i can listen to any song i want to, all of my friends and everyone i’ve talked to about it say that they don’t use soundcloud for this reason. my loyalty for soundcloud lies deep but i’m getting really annoyed every time i fall in love with a song and can’t put it on my playlist. i know for a fact that if this changed, so many more people would use soundcloud. or at least drop the monthly price down, i bet a large percentage of people that use soundcloud are 14-25 years old... people at this age generally don’t make as much money as the average person yet- due to being in high school and only having a part time job, or in college with a part time job trying to pay off student loans. not only would it make people happy, but it might be good for soundcloud’s benefits too!!!

it deserves 5 stars but i can’t help but remember the days with no ads and no premium service, everything jus listening, it would be really nice if you cut one of these things or at least chill out on the ads. Like maybe not right after the first song i play EVERY TIME!! it highly discourages me from using and i switch to apple music very quickly afterwards. By including a paid subscription and ads you’ve basically given apple the advantage as it’s pre downloaded on my phone and actually has all fully mastered music. I really want to see this app thrive but i think the money your making w ads and subscription is holding that back. 100% understand that you’ve probably ran those numbers thousands of times, but i truly think your fan base would explode to even greater numbers if you were to cut at least some ads, there’s just too much in the way of freely scrolling. However I have hope and rooting for you !!

    By RealDougtheDonkey
  • TOO MANY ADS Feb 11, 2020

    By joseph A D !!!
I don’t really write reviews for apps ever. I used to love this app and still use it occasionally but these ads are getting way too out of hand. I understand that the app has to make money but it seems like they are intentionally throwing ads almost every other song just to get you to buy SoundCloud plus or whatever the paid version is called. And it’s not like they are short ads either. It’s every other song a 30 second ad. I have started just closing the app out and reopening it and going back to the same song in half the time it would take for these repetitive ads to be done. I do not think that this deserves one star. I put it there in hopes that someone will see it and make a change. 2 years ago I would have given this app 5 stars but now with the amount of ads I would not truthfully give it more than 3 stars. Update: it’s getting worse. I am having ads stop music in the middle of 3 or 4 minute songs. This is not okay. Later Update: ¿ALL MY ADS ARE IN SPANISH?
  • Important issue with the app that needs fixing May 12, 2019

    By Manemjef
I’ve been using Soundcloud for over a year now and one thing that has been happening on an off again is a bug that crashes the app when your phone is turned off and listening to music. This was patched a long time ago, but it’s back because of a recent update. Whenever you are listening to songs and the phone is turned off, around the 0:45 mark the app crashes. It’s really annoying when you’re in the shower and you can’t access your phone. And on top of that, an ad plays every 5 or so songs instead of 10 to 20 when I am looking through songs. And it’s one of those video ads that pauses when you go to the home menu or turn off your phone, making you watch 30 seconds of disturbing imagery about what happens when you vape. I’ve hung up with it before, but at this point, I just can’t. I really urge SoundCloud to fix this. The only reason I still use this app is because it hosts some of my favorite artists.
  • Dissatisfied (Highly!) Aug 17, 2020

    By Imhatingmortalkombatxrightnow
My main issue with this app is how often it crashes, especially when I attempt to search through various artist’ tracks. Consistent crashes occur on this app (my phone is brand new so I know it’s not a phone issue) and there’s barely any support for creators on this app. Creators have to download Soundcloud Pulse which is also another app that’s behind it’s times (you still can’t even check PMs that are sent to you). I shouldn’t have to go through hell and back to listen to my music, but with the way this app is set up I can certainly say that it is highly dissatisfying on nearly all fronts. Only reason why it gets 2 stars is because of the fact that it’s somewhat useful, but get this app with the times developers!!! Update: The app is still crashing every time I open up someone’s “latest tracks” section which is pitiful. However we can finally see notifications from the parent app instead of having to go to Soundcloud Pulse which is nice.
  • New update Nov 2, 2017

    By Doabarrelrollrightnow
I don’t normally write reviews, in fact the App Store didn’t let me write this until I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it because of a glitch, but I have to emphasize the importance of this. In the patch notes, it details performance enhancements and bug fixes. However, this new version severely increases the startup time. I now have to wait a solid minute on a loading screen before I can do anything whereas before it took half a second. I don’t know what causes this, and the app still functions otherwise normally. However, this new loading screen before the app boots up takes an unacceptably long time compared to what the load times previously were, and is especially awful considering that barely anything was changed within the app, yet the load time is multiplied by probably more than 20 times what it took prior to this update. If you haven’t updated yet, PLEASE WAIT FOR THEM TO FIX THIS, because it is severely hurting the functionality of this app.
  • SoundCloud is being slow/Loading Error...Tap to try again Mar 16, 2021

    By raz_davidov
I just want to say that I love this app so much, I use SoundCloud like 24/7! It is my favorite because not only do I love listening to the music I like, but I also happen to upload my own songs on there as well. My only issue with this is app is that it’s been lately being very slow on my phone. Whenever I go on SoundCloud nowadays it’s acts like one of those old computer machines that people would try to use back in the day, or it is also kind of like using an old phone because it runs very very slow on my phone. Also, I have been experiencing lots of loading errors on each song whenever I want to shuffle music on SoundCloud on my phone. Some work and then some just don’t want to work, and it is very strange because it hasn’t done this to me before. If there is any way that this issue can be fixed, please fix it so that I won’t have this problem at all anymore. Thank you so much!
  • ads after almost EVERY song Sep 18, 2020

    By littletwnstarsglittergraphic
it’s ridiculous, i thought after i got a new phone this would go away, and it did - for a little bit. now, every time i open the app, i get an ad. if i listen to ONE song, i get an ad. if i don’t even listen to anything i get ads which sometimes stop playing when you leave the app, so you can’t play them in the background. i swear it didn’t used to be like this, i’ve tried turning on and off my wi-fi, clearing the app cache, deleting and redownloading the app, and nothing. for the record, i’m not opposed to the idea of sc having ads in general, it’s just that they’re so frequent i use the app less and less. i’m stuck to it because ive been using it for so long(large library) but that’s the only real reason. also, there are some glitches, like text not showing in the search bar in night mode, and liked songs/playlists not showing up when you search for them. my main gripe is with the ads, months later as i update this, i’m getting one after EVERY song. sc crashed and as soon as i opened the app it came back with an ad. i’d give 4 or 5 stars if it weren’t for this stuff and STOP with the same ads over and over it wouldn’t be as bad if you had some variety but it’s just verizon over and over again, i get it, and if anything i want to use verizon less now you really need to fix your ad program before everyone starts leaving.

Since the new update it crashes every time I open the app!! Useless!! Extremely annoying as an artist and a listener, you charge enough for it each month can't you at least give us a working app! Hope you fix it soon. Oppo android

  • Seriously? Aug 10, 2018

SoundCloud I hope your reading this. The one thing that is keeping me from uploading more tracks and being able to see all the people who has liked or listened to my tracks like I used to is SoundCloud Go. I know you guys are probably losing money and your money thirsty but it doesn’t mean you have to have all these aspiring music producers pay monthly just to upload more tracks or view all the likes or listeners, just have people pay monthly to stream exclusive music and nothing else. I’m sure a lot of people would disagree with me on this but for a somewhat broke producer who’s paying monthly for other subscriptions, I just don’t have enough money to pay for SoundCloud Go, just to upload more tracks and other stuff I mentioned earlier. I hope you guys understand and wish to fix this problem that me and probably a few others are going through. Now, all you guys have done is rearrange some icons and make the app look somewhat cool, but you guys haven’t added anything new yet to the app which means I’m still very very disappointed. After every update this platform has made, it keeps getting worse.
  • Advertisements Nov 13, 2019

I usually don’t care about advertisements very much. However, SoundCloud advertisements are ridiculously obnoxious. Every few songs or so one plays, and that is perfectly fine. The issue is how every single one is anti-vape or anti-drug. I get the ideas. Do I need to hear an annoying cheesy anti drug ad every five minutes? NO. The one’s that are especially terrible are the anti-vaping ones. One of the ads plays the sound of a dog licking something after asking me to imagine French kissing a poodle and then relates it to vaping. What is wrong with people and Soundcloud for playing a disgusting ad like that? It does nothing to prevent vaping and pisses off listeners like me who couldn’t care less about vaping. In fact, it makes me want to vape just because of how disgusting the ad is. It’s disgusting and infuriating, so I really hope SoundCloud changes what the ads are that they play. I’m sure there are more advertisement offers than the nasty anti-vape ones that are utterly useless that make me want to tear my hair out.

Sound cloud was great I could listen to all he latest songs and stuff and all my favorite people but now I they are a Verified artist you have to have sound cloud go or plus just to listen to music of there’s it so so gay I am going to ducking delete sound cloud I liked it before when I just had to listen to a few adds then I could hear the music with my phone not open but now I can fix this sound cloud or you are going to lose a lot of people and money from add revenue.i used to love sound cloud so much never had a problem not even the adds I got used to them and they rarely popped up as a problem and I thought I would never delete this app if my phone but I might because this is bull I have to pay just to listen to music lie there is some free stuff but most of it is no longer available to be listened to anymore with out sound cloud plus/go and I am online listening so I shouldn’t have to pay but I do it only lets me preview the sounds. Sincerely, angry Customer
  • SPACE OUT THE ADS MORE Jul 29, 2019

I swear SoundCloud traps you into their ad free service. after the first time buying it, I literally cannot listen to a single a song without having an ad played right after, it’s super annoying, I’ve been buying the ad free service for a year now, and the second I can’t afford to pay it they wanna bombard me with ads. Before I used the ad free service I didn’t have a problem with the frequency of the ads but now it’s just annoying I’m ready to just stop using SoundCloud because of this, I don’t see why I have to listen to an ad after every song, I want to enjoy my music without an ad after every single song, please do something about this before I just stop using SoundCloud altogether cuz I’m completely annoyed at how I feel targeted by your ad service, let me listen to at least 3 songs before I hear the same ad again, cmon guys what are you even doing, let me enjoy some music, not listen to the same annoying ad after every song!!!!!
