  • So close to perfection.

    by LLoose494

I love Slacker. I actually used it religiously about 10 years ago. It has always done a great job of mixing old and new with my custom stations. I left Slacker long ago when they made all the huge interface changes. I subscribed to Pandora and never really looked back. Fast forward to this week. I decide to see what’s going on with Slacker. Plus I wanted to see if my old stations had any gems I forgot about. I downloaded the app and connected it to my car stereo. The first thing I noticed was the sound quality was way better. Everything sounded more full than my pandora music. 2nd is that unlike pandora, my phone didn’t got into “accessory mode” making it hard to control it the way I want. 3rd was the interface looks great! Much better than the old blue colors of pandora. My only thing with it is why is it so hard to get to my custom stations? I couldn’t care less about the premade stations, I want to see a list of mine the moment I open the app. Instead I have to go to my music, then scroll around until I find custom stations. It should either be there from the get go or one tap away. Another bonus that I never thought I would like... djs and little snippets of news in between songs. They are short and informative and really make it feel like a premium radio station. Remember the old XM radio? It’s similar to that. Now XM has mindless bla bla bla in between songs. This is different and they nailed it.

  • Better than Pandora

    by Brent Willingham

Slacker Radio is the answer to Pandora’s increasingly bad service. Like Pandora, Slacker Radio allows you to create custom radio stations with the ability to tell the station that you either like the current playing song or that you never want to play the current playing song again. However, Slacker Radio is better at this kind of service because it allows you to listen to original recordings that are not censored and it has better quality audio. I have tried Pandora and even paid a monthly subscription, but Pandora does not play original uncensored recordings despite the fact that I turned on explicit content. Perhaps some priggish Pandora users somehow caused Pandora to ban all explicit content? Or perhaps Pandora’s algorithm is mistakingly interpreting that I somehow don’t like explicit content, despite the fact that I turned on explicit content? I’m happy that Slacker does not have this problem and that it plays original uncensored music with high quality sound. Thanks for the great music, Slacker Radio, and keep the free-spirited uncensored music going—unhindered by the moralism that has apparently infected Pandora.

  • Improve Dash audio quality

    by LAX20531

I love Slacker. It’s awesome for those of us who don’t follow artists and want help listening to the latest content through their curated channels. That being said, Slacker has done such a poor job in marketing itself and attempting to acquire a loyal base of paid subscribers to assure its long term survival. The idea to cross market with Dash Radio seems short sighted given it’s a gratis product, but the least you could do for subscribers is to offer higher bitrate streams because the audio quality is lacking. Other than this I can’t say enough good about Slacker and send everyone I know to the platform and encourage them to subscribe to at least the low-tier subscription as it’s an excellent value. Lastly: Chromecast streaming is broken after iOS 12 and needs to be fixed.

  • A little disappointed...

    by BrownEyz72

I have been a paid Slacker subscriber for many years...but I’m a bit disappointed with the look of the new app LiveXLive. New app should mean NEW cover art for ALL the stations. Some stations have had the same cover artist forever. I’m not a fan of the last played station window stuck in the lower corner as I browse the new site. It’s in the way. I’ve mentioned it before, but it would be nice if the people that create the playlists for stations could rotate music more frequently or add way more songs so that if one is listening during a work day, music hasn’t repeated itself numerous times. Especially if you aren’t listening to a New Release station. I give 4 stars because I am a loyal premium subscriber and I prefer slacker over all others.

  • New Review

    by cmm472

The app works really well on my iPhone and offline. I think $3.99 is a good value considering that it offers unlimited skips and no ads plus offline listening, I left Pandora for Slacker and use it in addition to my Apple Music account. I like the ABC news breaks and some of the DJs are amusing but I question their musical background; one of them introduced a Beach Boys song and called “Surfin’ USA” “Let’s Go Surfin’ Now.” One of them was talking about a Harry Nilsson cover of “One,” calling it his best original song, I think they all must be in their 20s or 30s. Regardless, there seems to be good variety and they play more deep cuts than Pandora without as much repetition. I wish that when I chose an artist I could hear that artist instead of everyone else.

  • What I’ve Been Looking For!!

    by fantastickkay

The one thing I miss with streaming music these days is the lack of news updates and little personal dj touches. I thought it was a pipe dream to have news included with music streaming but somehow I found the perfect app! Not only does it have an option to include news updates, it has amazing curated stations for absolutely every mood. I have a spot in my heart for the 60s Deep Dive station. I paid for it for a while, which is great to curate your own stations, but now I use the free version which only adds adverts to my experience but I can still listen to the stations I created so it’s all the same to me!

  • by B M

liked slacker better. Main thing i don't like is that every time your screen locks, and you unlock it, the player goes to a minimized view of the station you are on and shows the station info. i liked it better how slacker was, it stayed on the station view until i went back. Also, I being able to see the next song was nice too.

  • 5Star

    by GoNoFurther

I've used Slacker for many, many years now. If fact, I don't think they had ads for freeloaders like myself when I first started. I just listen to 'Golden Oldies', Folk and Folk-rock. Don't buy or download misic. I don't even have a lot of lists. I can't afford a monthly bill to just play music. I've tried Pand..... and other internet music apps but I've always returned to Slacker. The ads aren't bad. Hay, what do you want for free and it's better than the radio. If I could pay for music, it definitely would be Slacker.

  • I used to love it

    by Sanzi797

I had to delete the app because every time I would try to play a song . The song would stop on it’s own and when I hit play it would play for about 8 to 10 sec. then stop playing. Then when I tried your support they emailed me and told me to play with my settings. I did didn’t work so I emailed back and they closed my case saying it’s fixed when it isn’t. So delete but you need to fix this till then I’m going to an other music app

  • by A Google user

Not so wild about the changeover from Slacker. There should be a way to stop and close the application without having to log all the way out. I discovered that the app will close if I pause before closing. If not, it just keeps on playing. This might seem insignificant but to me, it's important. When I tell a device to stop, I expect it to stop. Rating won't go above 3 unless fixed.

  • Perfect for $3.99 per month

    by MacMan9876

Why is this my favorite music app? 1. The "Plus" version with no advertising is only $3.99 per month. 2. On some stations there's short, insightful commentary by the DJ, Parker, etc. with soothing voice introducing you to music. Absolutely love this feature. 3. There is a “no-ad” ABC News station at your fingertips. 4. If you wish, you can have Slacker occasionally give short news updates from ABC News BETWEEN songs. And/or short no-ad sports updates as well. You can create the perfect ad-free radio station. So cool. 5. The user interface is clean and easily understood. In short, if you don't want to pay a service a full $9.99 per month to pick specific songs and if you don’t need to download music, then Slacker Radio is a fantastic alternative.

  • Beware bogus login -- solved

    by Diana.McCall

The new app includes a bogus Apple ID login request. Not sure why they could need my Apple password, and I'm not giving it. Apparently this was a prompt to log in to iTunes, even though I was already logged in, and have never used iTunes, or any Apple music service. Fixed by going to Settings > iTunes & App Store, log out and log back in. Still don't understand the connection between Slacker/LiveXLive and iTunes...

  • Been using since 2010

    by Crayon2

I did the small upgrade and enjoy music without commercials and can skip through multiple genres. I add a lot of different music to my "favorites mashup" station so when I'm in the mood, all my favorites play. Great for working out (dub step, etc) or working (chill or electronic) or or meditating (new age and chill) or when I'm just jamming to the hits. The station gets better and better! Keep it up

  • Subscriber for years now...

    by LJ Joseph

Dont see that changing, however, I would love it if you every six months or so your interface changes didnt mess with my station playlist. It seems like it does. Dont know why or how, but its just an observation. I wish you learned the “if it aint broke, dont fix it concept.” Still, I believe I will be subscribed for a long time... Great radio/MP3 hybrid service. Lots of selection.

  • Network error solved

    by mm242099

Ugh, I have a premium Slacker account and when this update to Live X Live rolled out I was getting the same network error many others have complained about. I finally was able to solve it by logging out and back into my Live X Live account. The app publisher really needs to push an update out that forces a logout/login to solve this for others.

  • Slacker Rocks

    by Slacker Rocks

The Stations make Slacker my preferred streaming service. There are about 12 alternative rock stations, including my default New Alternative Now. Updated very frequently, stays fresh. The premium is worth the money. Listening to radio now is unbearable. I looked at competitors because Slacker does support DTS Play-Fi casting: nothing else provide the variety of tightly focused stations.

  • Next big thing in internet radio.

    by VivarachiPR

Slacker radio is in my opinion the best internet radio. It offers what pandora offers with better audio quality and the human comments or hosts like real radio without so many ads. Only thing I noticed is when playing the alt top 40 episode, of I get off the app it starts all over which made menor try listening to it again.

  • Been using slacker since the beginning

    by Grubby

Slacker beats every other web-based music program hands-down I'm 40 years old and I'm not the biggest web based music lover I love my CDs however the quality from slacker is hands-down better than any other program available

  • LOVE IT

    by dogsrule12344321

Slacker is AMAZING!!!!!!!! I can listen to my favourite when I’m in the car if I download the playlist to offline! This feature comes in handy when you don’t have a phone with data. This also has Imagine Dragons!!!!!!!!! Here are some of the songs on my playlists: who we are, gold, hedwigs theme, warrior, viva la Vida, and many more!!! PLEASE GET THIS APP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It’s been better

    by SaturnIonRedline

The app is great. It plays most of the songs I love I just have one gripe and that is; I hate them your skipping songs the app can’t keep up. So let’s say I’m listening to sorry not sorry by Demi lovado and skip a few tracks and it’s playing Nobody love by Tori Kelly the app is still playing sorry not sorry on top of nobody love. So still needs work. Other than that I love it sooooo much better than pandora.

  • Offline no longer refreshes

    by Frustrated from ky

Lately the offline playlist won’t refresh. It will start, go to 15%, and then shut down. I pay for the subscription but it isn’t working. Not sure if it’s a glitch but it needs to be fixed.

  • Best update info 😂😂

    by Your Local Dirtbiker

The way they use songs in their description of the update but still tell you what they fixed is amazing. I also love how easy it is to find and play songs I 100% recommend this over every other music app

  • Go to streaming app

    by no service at all

I’ve made Slacker my default music app. I love the ‘My Favorites’ station. Evolving over time. Accumulating ‘liked’ songs, and songs of similar artist and genres. You truly create your own station. Perfect for my commute. The $25/year ad free version is a bargain compare to others I’ve tried. Give Slacker a try. I think be impressed.

  • Update for CarPlay?

    by IamBlue42

Love the app. I use it mainly in my car—with CarPlay. Since IOS update, Slacker doesn’t show up. Seems odd that such a great app wouldn’t keep up with os updates. Without an update, it’s becoming a burden—and dangerous—to use Slacker while driving. I’ll provide a higher rating when I can start up Slacker while driving without having to touch my phone.

  • Update the app again

    by ARSniper

I pay the 3.99 /month before you took away offline listening. Irritated me but I kept it. But now I get a message that Slacker occasionally needs to phone home for updates. Says to check my settings and internet connection, I have full service. Something needs to be done and quick or I’m done.

  • Amazing but one thing

    by MrDontGiveAF

10/10, 5/5 ten mangos out of ten mangos but the reason it’s a 4 right now is because recently I can’t turn my phone to sleep mode without slacker turning off my music. Weird bug. Other than that. I would rate this app, 10 monkeys out of 10 apples. Would recommend

  • The Best Music Service

    by SlackerFan

Great stations and DJ’s. I also like the new home button. Can you please get a merge station feature where you can merge different genres and stations into one. This would making a custom station a lot easier.

  • Great app, great selection and price!

    by EliNOVA

Love the app and the music selection and the price is very comfortable for most people like me. Just noticed that the CarPlay app disappeared. Please bring it back hence the reason for giving 3 stars... hope this was an oversight and that the CarPlay app will return soon and will update the rating then. Thanks and keep up the great work you are all doing.

  • Slacker is aok with me

    by Betabugger

Been a pandora user for a while but recently they decided to not allow me to skip some content due to licensing issues? I don't care about their bad license decisions. I deleted the app and I'm a slacker only user now.

  • A must!

    by Kokobutter1

This is my absolute favorite music app. When I had an issue with my offline, they fixed it within two days. We pay for premium, but even without, it’s amazing!!

  • Slacker keeps me on beat

    by Trsquirt

Many years now I have been using Slacker. Where else can you find so many option to match your mood. Example for tonight I am thinking classical to help me relax into slumber.

  • Always a great streaming service

    by DTO328

You still get the best curated content Slacker provided but now even more live and on demand video. The audio quality is great! I’m always surprised why this isn’t rated higher.

  • My monthly payment

    by Awesome lady gaga fan

I have been paying 2times per month one time slacker directly deduct from my cc account and other time apple charge me for membership of slacker Please look at my account and let me know Hameed sezar Thanks

  • Good selection

    by PetuniaBlue

I rarely have time to listen to the radio but when I do I listen to Slacker Radio. I prefer it over the others I’ve tried. It seems to have the best selection of music for all ages.

  • Used for years

    by M1k3ca1n

I’ve used it for years and suddenly it has stopped working. I’ve subscribed to it for years and now it says having issues connecting. I’ve deleted and redownloaded it and still will not connect. It is not the update because it has been fine.

  • They’ve got it right.

    by Frank V

In a sea of options for streaming music and other audio content, Slacker got it right. Dynamic and engaging content that offers elements of traditional radio with the flexibility of a steaming service. This is my go to.

  • Problems you might need to look into

    by Jmdewig

It keeps crashing and playing two songs over each other when I switch stations

  • Love!

    by Liyahhhlove

My mom & I have had this music app for about 8 years now & it’s my absolute favorite. We got rid of our premium account a few months ago to save money and that lasted 1 week.. premium is amazing.

  • Upgrade Subscription AGAIN for Offline

    by DaysWasted

I’ve subscribed to Slacker for over a year. The best part is that I can listen offline. Since upgrading the app, you have to upgrade your subscription to listen offline. No thank you. I’ve loved this app until this upgrade and I have decided to cancel.

  • Little bit of a glitch

    by TrAcEkOtT

Recently when I use the app my music stops when my phone screen locks please fix, other than that five star

  • Still Not Fixed

    by Cal2play

I see that I’m not the only one still having the problem of songs just stopping on their own and then again every few seconds after you press play. PLEASE fix this. Otherwise a great way to listen to your favorite music.

The Slacker app was perfect but the new LiveXLive app is terrible. The connection cuts out all the time and at the beginning of EVERY song it hesitated and cuts out for the first few seconds.

  • Love it!

    by Karissayvonne90

Prefer this app over any other radio apps. Used it for about 5 years. I pay for the monthly subscription, well worth it in my opinion. Keep up the good work.

  • Awesome radio

    by Brazos78

I can browse through virtually any music that suits my mood and listen in on thousands of selections. I no longer listen to regular radio in my car. No commercials to bore through. Slacker is awesome!!

  • Love hate relationship at this point

    by Ida78

I love the app but when I listen to my offline playlists the songs cut off at mid point. Why??? I pay for a service with unlimited skips and I still get cut off when I skip “too much”...that is what I pay for why does it do that?

    by Pitifulhumans

Easy to use. I wish they had a bit larger playlist for each genre but it’s still very good. As good or better than the others.

  • Same adds over and over

    by kd.sanders

I don’t mind listening to adds, but I’m so tired of hearing about Cheryl’s She Shed. Please get a variety of adds! It’s literally the same 4 over and over. Other than that, love Slacker. It’s all I use!

  • Good but

Good stations but music keeps stopping when connected with Airplay please fix

  • Love hate relationship at this point

    by Ida78

I love the app but when I listen to my offline playlists the songs cut off at mid point. Why??? I pay for a service with unlimited skips and I still get cut off when I skip “too much”...that is what I pay for why does it do that?

Slacker is my go to music app

  • Great app for music and news updates

    by instaaaa2555

This service is underrated. This service favors humans bringing you music rather than algorithms.

  • CUSTOMIZABLE PLAYLIST

  • Next big thing in internet radio.

    by VivarachiPR

Slacker radio is in my opinion the best internet radio. It offers what pandora offers with better audio quality and the human comments or hosts like real radio without so many ads. Only thing I noticed is when playing the alt top 40 episode, of I get off the app it starts all over which made menor try listening to it again.

  • Fab station

    Awesome ❤️❤️❤️ slacker! The best!

  • Love this app BUT

    by MeganSueC

Ever since the update I can no longer ‘cast’ my music to my television chrome cast which I’ve always been able to do. Would love a fix to this :(

  • The best just keeps getting better!

    by Kurt's Krap

I’ve been using Slacker since their beginning and it just gets better every year. As a music service Slacker blows its radio like competitors out of the water. Pandora and Sirius XM don't come close to the variety and programming on offer. Stations can be customized with DJs, news and sports. For less than $4 a month you can get rid of the ads. And if you're willing to pay the $10 for premium you can get something comparable to Apple or Spotify. The app is gorgeous and a joy to use.

  • I like Slacker but the app has issues

    by ejward13

I am a fan of Slacker Radio but I’ve had a lot of issues with the app. Actually, I’ve had the same issue several times. It asks for a security code (random sequence generated in the app) which is a bit annoying but... ok. I enter the code, it won’t accept it. Contacted service and the answer is to uninstall and reinstall. I’ve had to do this 3 times now in just over a week. Next time i have to uninstall I won't reinstall. It's too bad, I like the service but the app isn't worth it.

  • Great music with great features!

    by 78rn

The music is great but the "Fine tune" feature and the ability to cache stations puts this app above the rest. Works great with the integrated software in my Toyota Tacoma. Great job Team Slacker! You guys rock! One con: MUST GET APPLE WATCH APP! I’m waiting guys, bring it!

  • A station request!

    I know y’all have a ‘40s hits can you all add a ‘30s and ‘20s hits

  • The Best Music Service

    by SlackerFan

Great stations and DJ’s. I also like the new home button. Can you please get a merge station feature where you can merge different genres and stations into one. This would making a custom station a lot easier.
