  • Clearing steps in the app is not intuitive Feb 14, 2021

    By your-nicknamehere
I spent $75 - which is pricey- and a nice job was done on the sidewalk. However, there is no way in the app to tell them to do the steps as well. I tried putting in the comments that the steps needed done as well but apparently no one reads the comments so I am not sure of their purpose. The funny part is the shoveler asked about the steps before marking the job as complete and the company told the shoveler to only do the sidewalk. Kinda useless to spend $75 to clear a 50’ sidewalk and still have a slip and fall risk on your property. Also, I had a 10% one time coupon that I was trying to use. I posted the job once and a shoveler accidentally accepted the job. However, when I went to reactivate the job the app would not allow me. After that the app would not allow me to use the coupon again so I was out 10%. After working with the company they did get the shoveler back out to my house to clear the steps, so I am raising my review some but this was still a frustrating and painful experience. As a tip for anyone the company said to pick a walkway if you need steps done. This should be more clear in the app that walkway = steps to this company.

The Uber for Shoveling. Fact: Shovelers hate door knock & shovelees hate asking. But this app connects those two parties in a pain free way. No more looking jealous at your neighbors clean driveway or going back&forth w/Craigslist posters on price. It's a simple interface were you estimate your driveway car length, enter your address, accept the price, then sit & wait for someone to clean up! I'm sure it depends on your request city & time for results, but for me it was a life saver! THANK YOU!

  • Cold and Snow in Chicago Jan 28, 2019

    By Briesmeister
I saw this app mentioned on TV and signed myself up. I am over 65, a widow living alone on a fixed income. I thought if this works it’ll be a god-send. Snowed last night about 8” here in Chicago and we are expecting record bitter cold temps. This morning I asked for a shovel-out and the app responded that they’d be there by 6pm. I thought uh oh, not a great response time. But two guys showed up an hour later and they were done in 20 minutes. Pretty good job too. They could have made one more pass at the city sidewalk- it’s a little narrow, but It’ll do just fine. If I’d thought for a NY minute that they would shovel the walk to the garage I would’ve left the gate unlocked (I keep it locked to prevent my 2 German Shepards getting out of the yard), but no harm no foul. It was a little pricey but they were here and gone and did a pretty good job, and best of all, I didn’t have to do it myself!! See you next time it snows!

The app is great but I haven't seen any jobs around my area. There should be a way to increase the job radius. Otherwise account setup was easy and everything seems to work well so far Update - looks like I was wrong. You can change it in the settings under my info.

I ordered at noon, they were there before 1. It was great as this was for my mom's house, and I wasn't able to make it there to be able to shovel her driveway and sidewalk - now, she can get to work and the store. They did a great job! Super easy app to use, and just a brilliant idea for an app overall. I will be recommending to my fam

  • Shovler app are crooks ! Feb 8, 2021

    By Curtis Migut
I am a shoveler for this Shovler app. I did 2 jobs, January 31st & February 1st of 2021. Today is February 8th and have not received any payment or explanation as to when I will receive my money. Jobs on apps are 1099 jobs, you are self employed. So no benefits, no anything. Today's banking system is mostly instantaneous, no more than 3 days tops. They receive payment from the customer immediately after the job is done. The people are collecting interest on my money ! It's just criminal.

I downloaded this app to have snow shoveled. I opened it, and it walked me through creating a job with all of my details. Then when it finally came to posting the job, it asked me to log in. The login screen is completely unresponsive. I tapped sign up with email multiple times waited for minutes and the app just hung on that screen. I tried hitting back, but the app just hangs there on the login screen. I killed the app, then reopened it and used the menu to go right to login, and the same.

Freezes in the middle of chat with provider. This happened before the job was cancelled. This is a developer problem. I couldn't back out of chat at all. The bad review stands until the developer acknowledges and fixes this bug and I see the fix for myself. Finally able to get out of chat but then it froze on the Job screen. Lots of bugs. Not yet ready for prime time. Oh, and they don't give you any info about shoveler name or ID. Dangerous!

  • Incomplete Service Mar 17, 2018

    By Reg89rndm
I really had high hopes with this service. However, after having requested a cleanup of my driveway and sidewalk, only the driveway was completed. I went back and forth with someone from support for over 2 hours, to end up getting absolutely nothing resolved. I paid $95 to have half of the job I requested done. The shoveler posted pictures after the job was “completed”, and they clearly did not show the sidewalk that should have also been part of the job. I really have a hard time understanding how these people thought offering a $10 credit would make up for this situation. I requested a credit that would be enough to cover the cleanup of the sidewalk, and received no further response. After reading response: No, I will not remove this review as it’s an accurate summary of my experience, as I have said in our previous email conversations. If I could give you 0 stars, after seeing your response, I would. I went out of my way sending you different pictures, which were never good enough for you. I hope you can use this an opportunity to better strengthen your customer service and operations in the future.

  • Great idea but the app needs work Feb 11, 2021

    By Happy Daisy 777
I love the concept but I have a lot of issues. For example I have a large driveway and sidewalk and even though I list that by indicating I have a 7 car driveway and 300+ sidewalk, people still either show up with just a shovel or are surprised by the scope of work. If I could upload pics of all the work that can stay attached to my profile that would be very helpful. It would be nice to indicate this as a large scope job so the equipment should be comparable. As it is now, I can only add 1 photo when I submit a job. Also the messenger option works very poorly. Half the time my messages do not go through. I just had someone here today and they did not go far enough with my sidewalk. I’ve been trying to message him but my messages don’t go through. I’m required by the town to maintain my sidewalk and since me messages don’t go through I need to hire someone to finish the sidewalk that I’ve already paid for? It’s definitely not the man who shoveled for me fault. Otherwise he did a wonderful job. The app functionality needs a lot of work.

  • Perfect for last minute help! Feb 6, 2018

    By Mel24joe
Rushing out the door in the morning after a large evening snowfall to drop kids off at school and daycare before heading to work. No time to shovel - eek! And I knew if I waited until that evening to shovel, the snow would be trampled and super tough to shovel. Not to mention, didn’t want to be “that house” - you know, the rude neighbor that didn’t shovel their walk! I thought “I wish there was an app I could easily hire someone...” I was shocked and THRILLED to find after a quick google search there was! Pricing fair (you pay for convenience!) and within a couple hours I was alerted that my job was accepted. Communicated through chat with the shoveler as needed (nice option) and received photos of the job well done (much better than me!). I easily and quickly chose “approved” and added a tip (thank you for that option). I will definitely use this service again!

Usually fast service. Downrating for the image display. Developer: Image galleries and scrolling through them is a pretty basic requirement, even the cheap apps have it. Please improve viewing result images posted by the contractor.

  • A little snow too much for these guys! Feb 13, 2020

    By Luvcheapgas
Shovler was set to arrive around 11:20. At 11:20, car pulls up in front of my house, I see in app that it says he arrived, then he leaves - without doing anything! He comes back 1/2 hr later, makes quick work of driveway and walkway, and is getting ready to leave - without doing the sidewalk! I caught him as he was leaving and said “you didn’t do the sidewalk” He says”you want me to do it?” Well of course because I already paid for it! He did do it and left. Also, the chat function in the app is useless as the guy never responded to my texts. All I can say is if you use this service - you better be home to watch them.

Great, easy-to-use app for snow shoveling gigs. Just wish it would connect/pay through PayPal instead of Stripe because of the heavy fees Stripe takes. Other than that, it's simple and awesome.
  • Thank you! Feb 19, 2021

    By catholiccolleen
First timer… App was definitely a little buggy and it took me two tries without a lot of direction and wondering if person #1 had cancelled...but person #2 got it done. I guess I thought my car would be dug out and cleaned off on top, which didn’t happen, but I was very very grateful to have been dug out. Maybe clarify in the directions - I read it to mean every shuffler would dig out your car and clear off the top. I would probably use the service/app again. I could not have done this job by myself. So thank you!

  • Incomplete app Feb 11, 2021

A shoveler just finished my job and was great. This job however took 6 people accepting the job then canceling it. The first crew came with light snow shovels and no truck trying to shovel a 125x10 driveway covered in 3 ft of snow. They quit after completing 40% of the job then told the app that the job was finished using opportunistically angled pictures. The only option the app gave me was to accept the job or kick the crew completely off the app. I am not trying to keep people from making money to feed their families during a global pandemic, but I also am not trying to pay for twice for a job to be done. There needs to be options to not pay for incomplete work. There needs to be a way to ask that random people with useless equipment stay away from heavy work. The job ended up being done well, but it took over a week and 6 attempts for the app to get a person with the right equipment to finish my job.

  • Great concept, if it actually worked!!! Mar 6, 2018

    By heathair
I was so excited to become a Shovler, especially since I have many days off during the week. We had a huge snowstorm and I was excited to get out there and get some work. Every single time I get a notification that there is a job available I immediately click on the notification which directly opens the app. As soon as they open the app it says no jobs available!!! I’ve completely lost out on 20 jobs already in the span of a few hours. I have a brand new phone with the latest operating system because my old phone had an operating system that wasn’t up to par and compatible with this app. So I’m just curious as to what kind of phone or operating system this app will actually work with. I really wish that all of the bugs were fixed for this app because I highly doubt we will have too many more snowstorms as it is already March.

The App works well except it did not allow me to resubmit canceled jobs. My credit card company did not approve a charge initially because it first needed to confirm the charge with me. Once canceled, I was not able to resubmit the original job & had to re-create the job.

As a shovelee, I attempted to use this app to find people in need of snow removal. Every house I arrived to were not expecting anyone and couldn't figure out why we were there or the house was already completed. I feel like I was screwed over by an app that seemed somewhat reliable.
