Almost Great but Still got a BUG ☹️
By Maya_DMayanBrujaI LOVE 99% of EVERYTHING about Shazam. It Records & SAVES the Music I hope to ALWAYS have. It’s been recording & saving ALL my Music, even the ones I can’t remember I saved. And all to my Email too (Which I’ve had for YEARS). I love how instant it works & how it can find Most of the songs. Yeah, it still has trouble finding My Spanish speaking Music, but I Trust Shazam will get there Eventually. Although, I regret to say, but I have the Shazam app Icon, on my Scroll down menu (on iPhone 11) & yes, it does the job. I can tap on it & Shazam will instantly start recording & recognizing the song/music being played (on/from another app). BUT…… Once the Notification is shown/pops up & goes away, I later go to my actual Shazam app & the song I KNOW I just played & wanted memory recognition from, is NO LONGER THERE. Yeah Shazam tells me the songs I shazamed for THAT DAY & the days/weeks/etc. Passed. BUT MOST of them are NO LONGER THERE. Like they simply VANISHED. PLEASE Shazam. FIX THIS BUG. I Hate how it’s beginning to Defeat the purpose of even having a Shazam if it won’t properly store my songs anymore. & Who knows how long this has been going on. I’ve probably been missing hundreds of songs that I “thought was saved” when really, they weren’t. Moments GONE☹️ Be awesome Again!!

Works like crap on Apple Watch
By artgrrrlI Shazam using my Apple Watch, EXPECTING the tracks to show up on the Shazam app on my iPhone so I can then add those tracks to my Apple Music library. RARELY do any of the tracks show up in the phone version of the app. My settings are all correct, there’s nothing I’ve neglected to do and I often check to make sure the settings are still correct, and they are. The problem lies with the Apple Watch version of the app, there are whole chunks of missing music, spanning weeks and sometimes months. I will purposely Shazam tracks by artists I know just to see if it’s working, NOPE, not one King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizards track has EVER shown up in my list of Shazams, not one Ty Segall, not one Fuzz, and I’ve Shazamed at least 10 to 15 tracks of each of these artists. What’s the point of creating an Apple Watch app if it’s going to work like crap?! I’ll update my review if the developers ever DO make it work, but at this point I think it’s better to find a different music identification app, one that actually works on my watch, one that actually DESERVES to be on my watch face, cause Shazam isn’t it.

Not nearly as accurate or useful as claimed
By KokubuI really don’t get the appeal of Shazam. It usually doesn’t work. If it’s a top-40 song, it works pretty well. Anything else, and most of the time it says “No result”. Or it picks a song seemingly at random. Then if you try again, it picks a different random song. It has no concept of “I’m not sure what this is so here’s a couple guesses”. The wrong answers are never even from the right genre. It’s like talking to a smart-but-dumb computer on a 1960’s sci-fi movie. There isn’t a way to train it, either. It’s even difficult to remove an incorrectly Shazam’d song from the history — it takes about 6 taps, which is about 5 too many for something I want to do half the time I hit the Shazam button. The other case where it’s good but not useful is classical music. Its accuracy with classical music is excellent. Unfortunately, again, it snatches defeat from the jaws of victory, this time by displaying only the title and *performer* (usually conductor), but not the composer. “String quartet #7”? I guess that narrows it down but it really wasn’t what I was looking for. I wish Shazam worked well, and provided results in a useful format. Right now, it’s a novelty when it works at all. UPDATE: Now it’s started nagging me about “cloud backup” and a bunch of other useless stuff. Please stop. You have one useful feature. Make it better. Don’t go trying to make me integrate my life or some garbage like that.

Control Panel Song Recognition Is Useless!!
By Maji16If I could give the Song Recognition feature in the control panel a -10, I would, I find it just that useless. When I 1st saw this I was like “wow what and awesome thing” and instantly added it to my control panel and it recognizes all of my songs. But of course there is always a “gotcha” with anything this good because even though it recognizes the song it does not link them with my Shazam library like the app and if I clear 1 of my notifications on my list all the Shazam’s are deleted, thus no song recognized or saved to add to my Apple library later. This very very very frustrating and hate this feature. My memory is bad and that’s why I use the feature and leave the songs that I Shazam in my notifications so when I have a chance I can add it to my Apple Music Library. It’s an awful waste of space and if you’re going to offer it as a extension of the Shazam make sure all of the features work like app would or it’s just a waste of space.

I wish I could put ZERO STARS
By SaaoyxI do not understand how people are getting what they want with this app. I thought this app would work to find “that song” for me, guess what? It didn’t. I got this app thinking it would be great, because the reviews are fantastic. The only thing I like about this app is that it doesn’t cost wasted money (at least I can just throw it away). I don’t know about anyone else, but I believe lots of people are also getting Shazam because the app itself made it seem impressive. When I first opened Shazam, I wanted to play around with it, so I sang Happy Birthday. Who doesn’t know Happy Birthday? Apparently Shazam didn’t. Then I got confused and tried it again, it still didn’t work. I finally decided to sing my song I wanted to know the name of (I still don’t know the name of). It didn’t work. Voice recognition is very helpful and accessible, but Shazam sadly couldn’t be with that. It shows how badly great inventions like voice recognition can be used for.

This is an awesome app... but mine has been glitching!
By Lysie LouI love this app, I’ve had it since it first came out. I like that I can link it to face book, share cool songs that I found on my face book feed or to individual friends. I can even look up the lyrics to the songs that I Shazam. However, for about a month now when ever I go to “my Shazam” to look at the the songs I discovered it kicks me out the app immediately. I have even tried signing out so I could sign back in, in the hopes that it would reset the app... that didn’t help. So I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it again. That didn’t work! So it is for this reason I’m am rating the app 2 stars. It is extremely annoying that I can’t use the app to its fullest. Especially when I enjoyed using the app the way it was intended prior to this issue. So if the developers can fix this glitch I would be happy to give this a app a 5 star rating-once again.

Poor UX. Hard to Shazam after the first Shazam.
By simplegrayThis app does one thing and that one thing is not present on any page in this app after your first Shazam. So dumb. More — The “Shazam” button exists only on the launch page. Once you Shazam and it finds the track, you are forever stuck on the details page of that song. It doesn’t reset back to the Shazam page, ever. And it doesn’t let you swipe to go back (sorry iPhone Plus and X users). If you come back 3 days later to Shazam a song quickly, you’ll still be stuck on the last track you Shazam’d and no quick Shazam button access (read: no ability to Shazam). The only way to do it is to hit little tiny back arrow button perfectly to go back. I have missed so many Shazam chances because I opened Shazam, it lands on the details page of a song I Shazam’d days ago, and I couldn’t quickly hit back with one hand on my phone. Beautifully designed app, poorly thought out UX.

Used to love it but now it’s useless 🥺
By TimDawgzAccurate but I have a major problem when doing a “quick Shazam” from the control center where I’ll get an ID notification along the top but that identified Shazam is NEVER in my recent list in Shazam?! Why?! I only see the Shazam’s where I opened the app and used it to ID something. This defeats the point of using the control center method to ID songs since you lose everything identified this way. I’ve just realized I’ve lost a months worth of Shazam’s thanks to this. Grrrrrr 🤬 Also why does Shazam ID a song then I’ll go back to do it again (remember they’re not being saved as previously mentioned) and now Shazam won’t find the song using the SAME EXACT sound bite?? It makes no sense. 🤯 At this point Shazam is not useful. It loses everything identified via control center and isn’t as consistent as I need it to be. Bummer.
