First level is free and I loved it, it is simple to use very very friendly and perfect for beginners. I did not how ever purchased the other levels. It is a monthlu susbcription and i personally prefer to buy a book for a one time payment than a monthly subscription.
  • Foundation - Level 1: Great overview Dec 25, 2018

I just completed Level 1 - Foundation. It provides a very nice overview of basic meditation techniques, including focusing on breath, and body scan. I am not new to meditation, but I am struggling to incorporate it into my daily routine, which I have recently realized is very important to me. The short time (10-12 min) that each lesson takes is perfect for helping me to commit to a daily meditation practice. It’s just enough time to provide me with a centering experience and almost guarantee that I can complete a session in the morning before anyone in my family wakes, which is my preferred timing for meditation (and I don’t have to wake uncomfortably early to accomplish my goal). Thank you for this free level! It helps me to start my day in a positive way, despite the various challenges I am currently navigating in my life. I encourage anyone to try out Serenity, no matter where you are on the spectrum of meditation experience.

I agree with many other positive reviews. However, there is so much talking. For me, that is very distracting and makes it hard to really meditate. In that light, this app is probably most useful to help you learn some meditation techniques, and to explore certain aspects of your thinking.
  • Great app for all levels Sep 14, 2018

Definitely one of the better meditation apps that I’ve tried. The background music as well as the voice of the narrator are very calming and help you relax easily. As someone who has always had a rough time meditating, I found these guided practices to be very helpful as they break things down into smaller steps and help you to ease into the practice of meditation slowly. This app offers various different levels and types of meditation, making it ideal for both those who are new to meditation and those who are more experienced.

Narrator is calm, with each level you are given more time to spend alone and less talking. There are many interesting techniques and concepts. For instance, I found the 'Silence mind' technique to be most useful for me. Great app!

I have done this everyday since downloading it. When I hit the end of the free trial, I was a little disappointed. However, the way I felt after just a week encouraged me to spend the 20 bucks for 6 months. Man was it worth it. It helps me to find calm in the chaos. I’ve fallen asleep easier and quicker. I love these guided meditations so much that I’m working towards building up for an all day meditation session, using many of these techniques to keep me centered during those times. So glad I gave this app a try.

Wow this app is amazing. If you have any interest in meditation but maybe you have doubts on your ability to successfully experience it, I highly recommend this app. In the short period of time I've been using it, I've experienced the power of meditation and I haven't even finished level one. I promise you this download will indeed help you develop the tools necessary to discover the wonderful world of meditation. **Update** I just completed my 30th session and I absolutely LOVE this app. 👍👍
  • My favorite meditation app! Jan 3, 2021

There are a lot of guided meditation apps out there now. Serenity is my favorite! I’ve meditated for 13 years and this is one that offers topic driven programs from beginner to advance. Most are 7-15 minutes so it is easy to interstate them into your day and meditate regularly. The woman who leads the meditations voice is calming and soothing and that’s helps to settle yourself down into whatever you are focusing on, in addition to your breath. Wide range of topics too- highly recommend for experienced meditator and beginners alike.

The first level is free, it is an excellent app for anyone who enjoys guided meditation and anyone who likes quiet meditation as well. I particularly like the optional sound track of quiet airy sounds - not exactly music, more like the sound of a gentle cosmic breeze. That's what I need to quiet my mind when I need to stay focused on a repetirive task.
  • Favorite Meditation app, hands down Nov 3, 2020

I’ve been a long time lover of meditation, never a dedicated practitioner but a “weekend meditator” if you will. Always feel better afterwards. Always wanted to do it more, but couldn’t find guided meditations that combined an easy voice to listen to, good amount of length per session (ideal for me is 10-15 minutes), and easy to follow session progression. This app has it all. Not too much or too little of anything, just right. Thank you!

Edited: it asked for a 5 star review with the implication it would unlock more sessions. It did not, so I've edited it now that I realize how expensive (and not "free") this app is. Only the first few are available for free. It is a good app for absolute beginners learning to meditate. It does it in small, manageable and attainable increments. It offers reminders and positive encouragement to keep you focused. It does get repetitive after a bit.

Such a lovely way to start my day. I've found the gentle identification of limiting thoughts and beliefs invaluable in quietening my mind. I have learnt amazing stuff from it. However, I am going to stop using it as it does not link to my medical aid benefits, and there are a few other meditation apps that do, so I have sadly had to change to another app. I wish you would link to my medical aid (Discovery South Africa) because then I would never stop using Serenity.

I’m gonna give you the best way I can! No BS, no answer this that, oh and trial is over, I actually have unlocked a Sleep Meditation but it has been a good learning experience for me and my family I am such an anxious person and I will continue to do it and I will have to have to be told to focus and breath in and then out. After the incident I was going to take the plunge and purchase it! I’ll be back!

i hope there's a feature for playback control, because it's always nice if like u want to re-listen some meditation to review what's the core of it. for example i took some notes and i just wanna go listen back to old guided meditation ive done, to check my knowledge and reviewing my notes, it'd be very useful.
  • Nice app Jan 13, 2019

Structured meditation with a pleasant voice. So far, (just finished Week 1) it is slowly and methodically instructing the user how to meditate which is exactly what I was looking for. (Sort of like a Meditation for dummies). Perfect! I haven’t tried anything else yet but I like this app so far. I haven’t been harassed yet for $$ which is also nice. We’ll see how week 2 goes.
