This is one of my favorite apps, and it is so popular that at one time I had 30 different games going. In fact, I have had to take a break from it simply because it was eating up so much of my time. But believe me, I'll be going back eventually!

Scrabble gets better with each upgrade. It's challenging even as a one person play. Thanks to other comments from others, the frustrating issues are repaired. Would like to see the number of tickets unlimited. Stopping at 5, you end up losing many to use later. Not a fan of the tile collections, but that's a personal preference. Great app for adding to your spelling and vocab.

Been playing this for over a year & enjoying it. However, lately, when I'm told to finish my custom tile, I get no response when I tap where indicated. The large arrow indicating where to click keeps moving but that's it. I decided finally to uninstall & reinstall the game but it still does this. Anyone else have this issue?

This app is fun and addictive! Lots of different kinds of games to play. I'm only giving 3 stars because of how glitchy and slow it is, and how many pop-ups there are. Everything has a delayed reaction, as in it takes at least 10 full seconds after each click for something to open or to go to another screen. I get that the ads are how they make money but there are also so. Many. Pop-ups. After waiting so long for a screen to load I just want to get on with things.

This is mostly great. I like the dictionary integration and that you can play the computer on several levels. There are two pretty annoying things though: 1. There are some bugs with how it shows your score history. If you start to scroll through it, all the sudden the scores will change. The labeled winner for part matches will sometimes be the player with the lower score. It’s just weird. As a side note, I just played a game against the app where it declared the computer the winner after playing the last tile, but it still has two tiles left! You can go back and look at the board, so I was able to take a screenshot where it labels the computer the winner, but we both have tiles left. Weird. 2. The all is pretty pushy about starting new games and challenging random people. It will push my active game with my friend to the end of the list and put challenges from strangers and past games I played against the computer at the top, both of which are useful. I don’t mind watching ads for a free version, but this extra pushiness to play random people is pretty intrusive. It won’t let you dismiss those either, so you have to scroll past them over and over again.

The game really is a lot of fun. I also like the mini games. I don't even mind the ads. The few things I am not thrilled with is home screen has lots of options to start games with random opponents, when I am trying to scroll to my active games, it's so sensitive, it takes my scroll as a selection to play a new player. Wasn't issue prior to this month. All my games were on the left. But as mentioned by others, my active games have not been displaying correct showing nudge in error.

It’s a fun game with good graphics and in game incentives, and it definitely sharpened my scrabble skill by playing it for a few days, but the privacy policy of the company is rather sketchy. Of course, it’s for the more social applications of this app and you “don’t have to” but there are in-game rewards locked off by requesting you give them your entire contact library or make a facebook account in order to access them. The information usage by the company is vague and threatening, and I don’t want these people to have my address. Though I feel I should point out there’s not as many creeps and scammers as other reviews say, to give them credit. I assume all these info-sucking policies would scare off anyone looking to cause trouble, but I also feel that this invasion of privacy in the name of security is highly upsetting. It’s a decent app and worth your time if you’re willing to sell your soul and personal information for a few in game credits. Please think critically before agreeing to anything this app offers you, and if you’re paranoid like me absolutely do not get it. Too many times have companies overstepped privacy boundaries in greed. I don’t trust stuff like this.

I love the game. There are a few things though. I cant seem to be able to check my inventory. The screen freezes up & I have to restart the game. I am playing with Calamity J & it has tagged me I have a message. I'm unable to read them. When I paid for NO ADS, I assumed there would be no ads. But there are ads after the time limit runs out. 24hrs for $2.99 really? If you have to run ads, okay. But do you have to run the same one over & over?

The game is alright except for one problem I have encountered today, the ads. Every single time an ad tries to play it crashes the game and I have to launch it again every time it does that. If it didn't have this issue it would be a five star review instead of a three star one. Please fix this issue.

Love the game, the challenges and tournaments are great but the ads are horrible. One after every 1 or 2 turns, really. The only way to remove them is 7.99 ( plus tax) a MONTH!!! Seriously? The game is fun, has a lot a great aspects but I don't play Scrabble that much to make it worth it. I don't even think you can play enough to make it worth it.

I downloaded a while ago and very much enjoyed playing as guest on my android phone but then one day it would only load to 75 percent and I never could get the app to open after that. I uninstalled it but then about a month ago I decided to reinstalled (lost all my progress tho) but after 1 month of play it won't open again. Tried all the stuff but nothing works. It's too bad because it's a fun app and I played it nearly every day. Guess I will have to uninstall again.

I really liked this game until I couldn't get it to completely load. It keeps buffering or just freezes. I lost all my games due to forfeit & didn't get the tiles I was working towards because nothing would work. I thought it was just my phone until I logged onto other games & they all played just fine. As of right now I wouldn't suggest this game to anybody.
  • Why even call it Scrabble. What an abomination. Dec 16, 2020

    By bpamagic
15 minutes. That’s all it took. 15 minutes before I realized some underage gamer had destroyed what was one of the best games ever invented - so I deleted it. I’m not a prude. I’m not technically challenged. I see younger generations struggling every day with attention span issues. I get it. But not everybody needs bells and whistles and jewels and God knows what else is imbedded in the Scrabble Go app to be entertained. If it’s about money then charge me more for the app, but to destroy a simple quality intellectual game like Scrabble and turn it into a moronic video game is asinine. You clearly could have included an option for people to choose the classic version - which, if it is available, I was unable, well unwilling, to wade through the nonsense to find it. That would have met everybody’s needs. We’re getting far enough along in the technology craze that not every computer geek or technology buff or game player is a 15 year old kid with the attention span of a goldfish. And the need to pander to said demographic while ignoring others may be at the detriment of your company. Consider there are actually older people -with money - who enjoy technology, that you may want to address in your product development and marketing efforts. If you’re designing a new game - no problem. But to destroy such a classic for no apparent reason is just ridiculous. I’m only giving one star because I have to in order to send my review.
  • Too many bugs and glitches Jun 13, 2021

    By Dibarwar
And that’s just a few of the problems. I have been reporting bugs and glitches for over six months and they just get worse. They’ve taken away all of the enjoyable perks with chests that give you gems to further your play, they took away the ability to buy tickets with gems and now you have to pay for them except they do offer one ticket free if you watch an ad but most of the time lately the offer disappears or freezes before you can collect the ticket, when you try to extend your play on the tournaments games half the time it glitches so you lose the ability to increase your score and place higher in the tournaments, the ads you have to watch are full of gambling game offers and sometimes pornographic with the pictures that are incorporated, if you get a bingo you’re supposed to get a bonus chest and lately it’s just been disappearing the minute I click on the button so there’s no bonus after all, the algorithm in the Scrabble competition is lopsided in it’s delivery of letters so half the time my opponent is getting bingo after bingo and I’m getting all vowels or all consonants to work with so it’s not realistically comparable with real life Scrabble odds. It’s too bad, this was such an enjoyable game at first and now they’ve made so many changes that the whole system glitches and freezes and they don’t seem to be able to work out the bugs.
  • Problems During Prize Giving May 26, 2021

I picked this app up because on FB, there was a lull with making the updates. I noticed with this app on my tablet, there isn’t a problem when rejecting the prize to go to the next game and to avoid the ads. But when you decide to accept the prize, all of a sudden there is a pop up declaring that something is wrong with the system. Ok, but what is the alternative? Will I get a chance later? Is there a cancellation prize for the inconvenience? Nope. You have to forfeit the prize. Isn’t it funny, nothing is wrong with the system when the same ads come on over and over and over again between games? To the creators, if you are interested in making the game less annoying: when playing the mini word games within (like the trophy game and bayou), the player should have a choice whether to use all of his/her tickets or not. The player shouldn’t be forced to spend his/her coins if there is a ticket left. Did you really design the game to see if you could control one’s spending? I did notice that when I used my tickets and had 101 coins to start off, at the end of playing 4 games and spending 5 coins per continuance, I saw I had 72 coins left. How? That would mean 29 coins were spent. That not even divisible of 5. That would mean I played 5 games and your game stole an extra 4 coins. Wow!

SO TIRED of not getting rewards. Then there is the ads that you have to X out of 2,3 and sometimes 4 times to get out of the ad. The you have the two part ads that require multi Xing out of. The main reason I play is to play against family members. Think it is time to find another game. I received an email from the developers saying they are aware of the problems but it has been months.

I would rate the new Scrabble Go app zero stars, or even negative stars if available. EA/Hasbro had perfected the Scrabble app in recent years, and I’m sad to see it go on 6/1/20. I’m hopeful that in some way it will be resurrected in its perfect present form, which is clearly what all Scrabble app players want after reading many reviews. The new Scrabble Go is a complete failure. It has been dumbed down for kids, contains useless noises and other distractions, is difficult to use, and is visibly too small. Scrabble aficionados have no interest in this garbage. I have seen Scopely’s response to many critical reviews stating ‘this is a work in progress’. Well, Scopely, from reading the real reviews (not the multitude of fake positive reviews herein), you should glean that the Scrabble app in its present form is what we want: a game free from useless distractions, noises, and gifts; one with a built-in dictionary; one with a scoring mechanism so we can compete with players at our skill level; one that looks like the actual physical Scrabble board (same colors and tiles); and one that is easy to use. Scopely has taken away a gem, and I would rather stare at a blank wall than play the new Scrabble Go app. And I suspect that current Scrabble app players would be willing to pay for access to the app in its present form - I know I would. PLEASE OFFER THE CURRENT SCRABBLE GAME IN ITS PRESENT FORM FOR A REASONABLE FEE.
  • Worst ever! May 15, 2020

Update to my original review: Have now LEFT this Scrabble Go behind! Piece of CRAP! I am a WWF fan now. You are losing people right and left. That 4.6 star rating this game has? FALSE! Fake news! There are thousands of reviews here that are all saying the exact same thing and give this game a 1 star so the rating YOU have given this game is a lie just to lure people in! And IF you were REALLY LISTENING to all of our reviews you would have turned this back into the original Scrabble. So long, folks. Holding onto the original Scrabble til they push me off. This is the worst scrabble version ever! The home page is too “busy”. Way way too much stuff on home page. Complicated. Too much stuff going on. Strangers are on my home page. I do NOT want strangers having access to my page or games!! Ever! I play one person in scrabble. That’s all I want to see! Trying to do anything in settings is like a scavenger hunt. You have to EARN points to be able to do anything except play words. You took away our “Teacher”. Took away our “Dictionary”. Good grief, if there was a zero or negative star rating that’s exactly what I’d give this game! Give us back or at least give us a CHOICE to play the original scrabble!! And one more thing.....if you think we are going to PAY for features that were part of the original Scrabble then you are totally insane!

Too many ads, but I ignore them. I enjoy the game but am forced to be conscious of fake players who want to start a game with me who only want to engage me to buy or trade in cyber currency. I have had to be very careful about who I accept but there are scammers who get through. I know that I can disable the message feature but I shouldn't have to. Thus program needs to be better monitored.
  • Just like classic Scrabble.... May 3, 2020

    By theymightberyan
Except you can earn rewards. Which we can all agree was the biggest thing missing from the old board game. And you can “level up”. Which is something I was writing to Hasbro about for years. “Hasbro, why does this exceptionally simple and perfectly executed board game not allow me to level up and earn rewards?” I guess they finally heard me. Oh, also, if you are looking for one of the games you might be playing, it’s actually not easy to find. It’s like a frustrating little adventure where each time you want to play, you have to brush aside all the different things the app is trying to get you to do other than just playing your existing games with your family and friends. Neat! I am so thrilled to be able to see how people on my Facebook friends list are achieving their various high score dreams. I remember before this if I wanted to know what an acquaintances highest score in Scrabble was, I had to write a letter and wait for them to pen their reply. Now, I can find that even more easily than I can find the games I’m actually playing! In all seriousness, this version of the game does one thing really really well: it highlights just how out of touch this developer is with the actual players of this game. I’m desperately seeking something to replace Scrabble. This isn’t it.

I love Scrabble, I HATE the gimmicky app they've turned this game into. I play with my long distance boyfriend and although I hated to do it, I pay the $8.99 a month to get rid of the adds because they're so INCREDIBLY annoying!! Even the rewards drive me crazy! Their stupid animations take forever to get through and you can't skip them. I wish they'd offer the old classic version as well as this stupid gimmicky one. I'm giving 2 stars because there are a lot of fun modes if you can handle ads

Pretty cool app. Great to pass the time. However; I hate that they award you tickets but if you're capped, you dont get it. Either don't cap the tickets or don't offer them if the player is capped! Also, sometimes when I play the add to switch tiles, the app freezes up! 3.5 out of 5 stars from me.

Really enjoy playing, but beware of people that want to chat! In many cases, they are trying to scam you.. It is maddening! The prizes include too many tiles! You can only use so many! Would prefer tokens or tokens. However it is addictive and very fun.

As somebody who stopped playing Scrabble for lack of real-life opponents who didn’t spend half their time being toxic, this is a bonanza. Sure the UI on the main menu isn’t the best, but the app does a good job making the experience worthwhile, even suggesting opponents who play at your pace. Duels are especially nice because you can squeeze in a quick match in just a few minutes without having to worry about playing a full game. Earning new tile sets to customize your rack with is pretty cool too...I’ve already seen some that scream to me, “I want to earn that!” My only real suggestion for the developers is that I would like to see some puzzles in the sense that you are given a game in progress with words already on the board and a rack to play with, and you need to find the best possible play on the board that you can. I just feel that this would help people become better players by giving them a chance to practice board awareness. Other than that, I love this. It’s worth the $5 a month for Club membership.

Other than the annoyance of ads, this was a lot of fun. Uninstalled the app because, in the middle of a game, it insisted I check out "my word search game". I DON'T PLAY WORD SEARCH! There was no way to get it to go away. Can't return to my active games. HELP!

Could really love the game more if the pop up ads were not so annoying. It gets worse daily. I cannot stand one play and then an ad. Why so frequent? Ads take away from gameplay. To play three simple games can take 10-12 minutes and that is way too long. Still problems with the app crashing and again knocking you out of the app.

  • Just like classic Scrabble.... May 3, 2020

PREDATORY BUSINESS PRACTICES!! Once you hit level 5 they start to show you ads every TWO WORDS YOU PLACE. You can pay $1.50 to disable them for ONE DAY or you can pay them a WEEKLY SUBSCRIPTION to remove ads. Vile, wretched, intrusive, and insulting. Don't give them the satisfaction of exploiting you for money, just use a knock-off app that's just as good and has less unwanted features. The additional games, graphics, & micro transaction will lag your phone. Not worth the install!!
  • STILL NOT FOR THE SERIOUS PLAYER Mar 19, 2020

    By JayMackley
They completely wrecked the game for adult players. Now in the latest version there a new "Scrabble Classic" mode which is to supposedly improve playability. It is an improvement that gives me a glimmer of hope. Maybe if they keep trying... but the developers just don’t “get it" and they may never at this rate. The game board is still too small. Even in Scrabble Classic mode the game still throws endless annoying bonus points and treasure chests at you with a series of bothersome screens that you cannot escape from. ELO rankings are still missing. Supposedly there is a choice of dictionaries now. However I couldn’t find them. I would gladly pay again for this game (one time pmt) if only they could remove all distracting annoyances and provide the essential features. In ADDITION to ruining the online game the developers are also deceiving the public. First, as others have pointed out, the thousands and thousands of 5 star ratings with no reviews are clearly bogus. Apple should crack down on this and not let them game the system like this. Second, the "random opponents" feature is clearly AI opponents and not real people as is clearly implied. Just notice how all the generic names are in the same format and isn’t it funny how my "opponent" is always available to play, even at 1am in the morning.

The amount of gameplay interruptions you cannot cancel out of is enough to trash this app; however, the trash the app displays for advertisements is what really is inappropriate for anyone. I've sent comments to developers as numerous ads have very young looking, sensually posed and dressed females with innuendo call outs like, "Should you hold em or undress her". I'm not one for censorship or complaints but if I'm offended, and I'm from Philly, then yeah.
  • Terrible replacement for the classic game!! Apr 10, 2020

    By Caffeinate_Me
If you enjoyed the simplicity and ease of use of the old EA Scrabble game, you will HATE this app. There are way too many extra features that do nothing to enhance gameplay, but instead are attempts to get players to sink unnecessary money into the game. The teacher mode that so many of us used in the old version is only free once or twice, then you have to spend gems to use it. The two word reference sheet in the dictionary is gone (and if it isn’t gone, I sure haven’t been able to find it). The classic board (as the developers will tell you) technically exists, but it’s not immediately obvious WHERE it is. If you’re going to try to sell fans of the old version on this new version by claiming that the board we all love is there, it shouldn’t be so hard to find. Also, even if you activate the “Hide From Searches” feature in the privacy settings, random players can still start games with you, so I have no idea what the point of this privacy feature is. For people who like this style of game - lots of side challenges to earn aesthetic features, random challenges, daily chests, lots of extras - this is a good game. But for fans of the classic version who are being pushed into this version because the old one is going away? You’ll hate this version.
