This is one of my favorite apps, and it is so popular that at one time I had 30 different games going. In fact, I have had to take a break from it simply because it was eating up so much of my time. But believe me, I'll be going back eventually!

WAY too many ads. It's one thing in between games but in between nearly every move is frustrating. And it's glitchy. A few times a day I have to force stop and shut down bc it freezes after a move. After using the swap hint, when I make a play, it freezes. I have to close down and when I go back, it's my turn again, the old tiles are back. But I can no longer use the swap. Now the Word Search won't let me collect my prizes

Absolutely love this game, and after a break, due to some annoying features, I have come back to give it a second chance. However, the annoying features are still in full swing. 1.The amount of ads, I can get over this as I play in guest mode and play for free. 2.Forfeiting games! Players that forfeit a game instead of playing their first move! So what if a player starts well, that's part of the game, but to forfeit instantly? Cowardly play! These moves should count against their score! Pls fix!

This is mostly great. I like the dictionary integration and that you can play the computer on several levels. There are two pretty annoying things though: 1. There are some bugs with how it shows your score history. If you start to scroll through it, all the sudden the scores will change. The labeled winner for part matches will sometimes be the player with the lower score. It’s just weird. As a side note, I just played a game against the app where it declared the computer the winner after playing the last tile, but it still has two tiles left! You can go back and look at the board, so I was able to take a screenshot where it labels the computer the winner, but we both have tiles left. Weird. 2. The all is pretty pushy about starting new games and challenging random people. It will push my active game with my friend to the end of the list and put challenges from strangers and past games I played against the computer at the top, both of which are useful. I don’t mind watching ads for a free version, but this extra pushiness to play random people is pretty intrusive. It won’t let you dismiss those either, so you have to scroll past them over and over again.

It’s a fun game with good graphics and in game incentives, and it definitely sharpened my scrabble skill by playing it for a few days, but the privacy policy of the company is rather sketchy. Of course, it’s for the more social applications of this app and you “don’t have to” but there are in-game rewards locked off by requesting you give them your entire contact library or make a facebook account in order to access them. The information usage by the company is vague and threatening, and I don’t want these people to have my address. Though I feel I should point out there’s not as many creeps and scammers as other reviews say, to give them credit. I assume all these info-sucking policies would scare off anyone looking to cause trouble, but I also feel that this invasion of privacy in the name of security is highly upsetting. It’s a decent app and worth your time if you’re willing to sell your soul and personal information for a few in game credits. Please think critically before agreeing to anything this app offers you, and if you’re paranoid like me absolutely do not get it. Too many times have companies overstepped privacy boundaries in greed. I don’t trust stuff like this.

Very poor substitute for the original game. Aimed entirely at Facebook users. I prefer to play against the computer and in the old Scrabble played at the advanced level. In Scrabble Go there is no such choice. The level the computer plays at is basic entry level and it is not a contest. Scrabble Go is a complete waste of time. Scrabble veterans, don't bother.

Great game! BUT, I have been playing for awhile, the ads seem to be getting worse for frequency. After almost every move, you have to watch an ad. Very very frustrating and to the point of uninstalling. Ads getting more and more frequent! And longer to watch. Killing a good game. From all the negative ad comments, developers obviously don't care as they are getting worse, and no response to any criticism. I know they have developers to pay but this is beyond annoying
  • Ads make game hang up May 22, 2020

If i am trying to have a duel and the game can’t locate an opponent for me, it closes me completely out of the app, and it takes about 40 seconds to open back into the app when that happens. Trying to play duels is also extremely frustrating if you aren’t willing to pay to go ad-free. The candy crush ad for example won’t let me X out (I have waited as long ad 90 seconds for the x to appear) but if I press “play free” to get it over with it takes me to the crush app download so apparently you have to download candy crush before you can play another scrabble duel. Or you can just close out of scrabble go and come here to give scrabble go a poor review because so many ads crash the app. Also it is Hard to figure out why they keep delaying play time to award trophies, which don’t seem to mean anything as far as rewarding you with a better experience. If anything, I seem to get a higher number of vowel-free boards as I gain trophies. The screen is now frozen on final fantasy Install now even after I have closed out of scrabble go completely to try to reboot.

As somebody who stopped playing Scrabble for lack of real-life opponents who didn’t spend half their time being toxic, this is a bonanza. Sure the UI on the main menu isn’t the best, but the app does a good job making the experience worthwhile, even suggesting opponents who play at your pace. Duels are especially nice because you can squeeze in a quick match in just a few minutes without having to worry about playing a full game. Earning new tile sets to customize your rack with is pretty cool too...I’ve already seen some that scream to me, “I want to earn that!” My only real suggestion for the developers is that I would like to see some puzzles in the sense that you are given a game in progress with words already on the board and a rack to play with, and you need to find the best possible play on the board that you can. I just feel that this would help people become better players by giving them a chance to practice board awareness. Other than that, I love this. It’s worth the $5 a month for Club membership.
  • Scrabble Vegas Jul 12, 2020

The actual gameplay is fairly decent, but outside of that, the app has some negatives. It’s too busy, with lots of flashing and scrolling graphics, stars, banners, ‘prize chests’ for achieving seemingly arbitrary milestones, various weird arcade modes, and so forth. It feels like being on the slot floor at a Vegas casino. I don’t love that players can basically cheat, by spending their winnings to get word suggestions... nor that additional cheats can be ‘earned’ by simply watching a commercial. It’s all a bit psychotic and over-the-top. It has a notification system, that seems to be misfiring at random. I currently have eight notifications, because it’s my turn in one game and I have one unread ‘mail’ (not actual mail, just an unclaimed prize chest). If I action those two things, I might still have eight notifications... or one... or it might increase to twelve. That’s clearly a bug. I’ve had several enjoyable games, and I don’t completely object to watching ads every now and then between turns. Other than that, it feels like visual overload. I’m just grateful there’s no sound.

Used to love this game and played often. It used to be quite enjoyable. After not playing for a while, I decided to give it another shot. Terrible idea.... An advert plays after every single word played, which is annoying when you are playing multiple games. Plus the adverts are repetitive and highly irritating, and the X is so small you can't close them without opening up PlayStore. Not worth the effort. It's lost its appeal. I will be deleting this game and don't plan on downloading it again
  • Why even call it Scrabble. What an abomination. Dec 16, 2020

    By bpamagic
15 minutes. That’s all it took. 15 minutes before I realized some underage gamer had destroyed what was one of the best games ever invented - so I deleted it. I’m not a prude. I’m not technically challenged. I see younger generations struggling every day with attention span issues. I get it. But not everybody needs bells and whistles and jewels and God knows what else is imbedded in the Scrabble Go app to be entertained. If it’s about money then charge me more for the app, but to destroy a simple quality intellectual game like Scrabble and turn it into a moronic video game is asinine. You clearly could have included an option for people to choose the classic version - which, if it is available, I was unable, well unwilling, to wade through the nonsense to find it. That would have met everybody’s needs. We’re getting far enough along in the technology craze that not every computer geek or technology buff or game player is a 15 year old kid with the attention span of a goldfish. And the need to pander to said demographic while ignoring others may be at the detriment of your company. Consider there are actually older people -with money - who enjoy technology, that you may want to address in your product development and marketing efforts. If you’re designing a new game - no problem. But to destroy such a classic for no apparent reason is just ridiculous. I’m only giving one star because I have to in order to send my review.

I am using an older tablet, and I do not have lightning speed internet ( though it's not turtle slow either), so I'm not sure if that has a bearing on my problems. My game is very draggy and freezes up a lot. I get a message saying it has stopped working at least twice every time I play. It seems worse since they added the "play live" feature - which I will never use! I also find a lot more ads as others have said. I liked the OLD original Scrabble, and would like to find another like it!
  • Too many bugs and glitches Jun 13, 2021

    By Dibarwar
And that’s just a few of the problems. I have been reporting bugs and glitches for over six months and they just get worse. They’ve taken away all of the enjoyable perks with chests that give you gems to further your play, they took away the ability to buy tickets with gems and now you have to pay for them except they do offer one ticket free if you watch an ad but most of the time lately the offer disappears or freezes before you can collect the ticket, when you try to extend your play on the tournaments games half the time it glitches so you lose the ability to increase your score and place higher in the tournaments, the ads you have to watch are full of gambling game offers and sometimes pornographic with the pictures that are incorporated, if you get a bingo you’re supposed to get a bonus chest and lately it’s just been disappearing the minute I click on the button so there’s no bonus after all, the algorithm in the Scrabble competition is lopsided in it’s delivery of letters so half the time my opponent is getting bingo after bingo and I’m getting all vowels or all consonants to work with so it’s not realistically comparable with real life Scrabble odds. It’s too bad, this was such an enjoyable game at first and now they’ve made so many changes that the whole system glitches and freezes and they don’t seem to be able to work out the bugs.
  • Scrabble got greedy Jun 21, 2021

    By Old sick lady
I’ve enjoyed this game immensely for last 6 or 9 months. To the point of paying as ridiculous fee to get rid of ads. There are different types of games duels, one on one play, different times games, path way games, and adventure path. Weekly goals that and a new one each day with chest. Rewards are cards, tickets to play in arena games (timed) and a few coins for boasters. The cards for tiles are stupid, and since I only like a couple of styles in arena I have over 225 tickets but watch watch a 30 second ad that I paid for not to watch! Each reward chest has tickets. Coins are few but you can get 8 to 10 cards for your total reward which is pure trash, just why did I go for it and will watch an add for additional rewards SURPRISE it’s more tickets or trashy cards. The tiles received are more and more all vowels or consonants exchange lose a turn or buy a switch to play SURPRISE same letters and you still have all vowels or consonants; nothing like having all the U’s or I’s over and over same game you may get an A or 4 N’s and 3 R’s trade 4 D’s and 3’s C’s. All enjoyment has been removed. No need to pay to get rid of ads you get them anyway same old ones that freezes your phone. All games but one on one must be played on phone or table. When coins are gone I’m gone. Looking for another scrabble game. FYI there is zero way to contact customer support if something goes wrong.

Add after every word, most are 30 seconds long to play 10 seconds of the game. Keeps glitching and freezing taking all of my gems that I paid for and earned. Loved the old game but I his one by scopely is just too inundated with ads and glitches. I gave it a second try after uninstalling the first time. I'm uninstalling for good. Greedy developers and awful game experience. Time to break out the old board and tiles.
  • Problems During Prize Giving May 26, 2021

    By hezmyjoy
I picked this app up because on FB, there was a lull with making the updates. I noticed with this app on my tablet, there isn’t a problem when rejecting the prize to go to the next game and to avoid the ads. But when you decide to accept the prize, all of a sudden there is a pop up declaring that something is wrong with the system. Ok, but what is the alternative? Will I get a chance later? Is there a cancellation prize for the inconvenience? Nope. You have to forfeit the prize. Isn’t it funny, nothing is wrong with the system when the same ads come on over and over and over again between games? To the creators, if you are interested in making the game less annoying: when playing the mini word games within (like the trophy game and bayou), the player should have a choice whether to use all of his/her tickets or not. The player shouldn’t be forced to spend his/her coins if there is a ticket left. Did you really design the game to see if you could control one’s spending? I did notice that when I used my tickets and had 101 coins to start off, at the end of playing 4 games and spending 5 coins per continuance, I saw I had 72 coins left. How? That would mean 29 coins were spent. That not even divisible of 5. That would mean I played 5 games and your game stole an extra 4 coins. Wow!

This game is in danger of committing suicide. First, it takes an age to load (and if you're a regular player, you'll have to load it many times in a day). Then there are the mindnumbing ads (duration, frequency, pathetic products). These have always been very annoying, but recently the developer seems to have forgotten that people play scrabble for fun. Instead, you will be submerged by lengthy ads, & now double ads!! Why not charge $20 a year to go ad free? There's probably a million who'd pay!
  • Horrible Apr 12, 2020

I would rate the new Scrabble Go app zero stars, or even negative stars if available. EA/Hasbro had perfected the Scrabble app in recent years, and I’m sad to see it go on 6/1/20. I’m hopeful that in some way it will be resurrected in its perfect present form, which is clearly what all Scrabble app players want after reading many reviews. The new Scrabble Go is a complete failure. It has been dumbed down for kids, contains useless noises and other distractions, is difficult to use, and is visibly too small. Scrabble aficionados have no interest in this garbage. I have seen Scopely’s response to many critical reviews stating ‘this is a work in progress’. Well, Scopely, from reading the real reviews (not the multitude of fake positive reviews herein), you should glean that the Scrabble app in its present form is what we want: a game free from useless distractions, noises, and gifts; one with a built-in dictionary; one with a scoring mechanism so we can compete with players at our skill level; one that looks like the actual physical Scrabble board (same colors and tiles); and one that is easy to use. Scopely has taken away a gem, and I would rather stare at a blank wall than play the new Scrabble Go app. And I suspect that current Scrabble app players would be willing to pay for access to the app in its present form - I know I would. PLEASE OFFER THE CURRENT SCRABBLE GAME IN ITS PRESENT FORM FOR A REASONABLE FEE.

Update to my original review: Have now LEFT this Scrabble Go behind! Piece of CRAP! I am a WWF fan now. You are losing people right and left. That 4.6 star rating this game has? FALSE! Fake news! There are thousands of reviews here that are all saying the exact same thing and give this game a 1 star so the rating YOU have given this game is a lie just to lure people in! And IF you were REALLY LISTENING to all of our reviews you would have turned this back into the original Scrabble. So long, folks. Holding onto the original Scrabble til they push me off. This is the worst scrabble version ever! The home page is too “busy”. Way way too much stuff on home page. Complicated. Too much stuff going on. Strangers are on my home page. I do NOT want strangers having access to my page or games!! Ever! I play one person in scrabble. That’s all I want to see! Trying to do anything in settings is like a scavenger hunt. You have to EARN points to be able to do anything except play words. You took away our “Teacher”. Took away our “Dictionary”. Good grief, if there was a zero or negative star rating that’s exactly what I’d give this game! Give us back or at least give us a CHOICE to play the original scrabble!! And one more thing.....if you think we are going to PAY for features that were part of the original Scrabble then you are totally insane!

    By marymary34
I was so skeptical when my “real” Scrabble game was taken off the App Store and replaced by Scrabble Go. But I’m a total convert now!! Not only do I get to play regular Scrabble with all my friends, I have all these other cool options for playing by myself, or with others! I love playing the duels...and I spend lots of time playing Puzzle Path. They are both challenging my 70 yr old brain!! I do have a suggestion for the developers, though. Is there a way you can make an update to the Puzzle Path game? Many times I can reach the point goal without using all the boards provided. It would be nice to be able to stock up the unused boards to be used when extra boards are needed at the more difficult levels...rather than having to spend gems to do so. That would be a nice reward!! Just a suggestion 😊
  • Now has a glitch in the game! Jul 26, 2020

    By Huff60
This use to be the best app, but now there is some glitch. The problem is When I am playing a game and it ends with tiles left, both of us pass our turn twice so the game ends and it declares the winner however I start a rematch it goes back to the ended game where there are tiles left. The only way to get out of the game is to declare the match over. The problem with that makes me the automatic loser even though my score is much higher than my opponent. I have tried resetting my phone and deleting then reinstalling the app, but it doesn’t fix the problem. This glitch seems to be when I am playing Zoey the computer. Please fix! UPDATE I’m not sure how it was done, but my issue has been fixed! Therefore it is once again my favorite app!

If it wasn’t for my main gripe this game would totally get 5 stars, saying that I first must say I LOVE playing for the variety of puzzles, fast pace, challenges and multiple active games I may have going at once. Downside, I’ve had for barely two weeks and this is the 3rd time I’ve had to delete and download as hours pass without it able to open/load. I am aware that this could totally be a connection error but I do receive my service through a very known service provider in the US so am doubtful that that is the issue. This wouldn't be that frustrating but I am in my 3rd day of the free trail (I initially downloaded 1/31) period because I got totally hooked. I would like to be a subscriber because it is such fun aside from being tired of seeing ads which took away from my play time and the added rewards/challenges but am hoping once my monthly fee, dun dun dun, is collected maybe the glitch will be gone and if not, sigh, that will be disappointing. Play on 🙃
  • Give It A Chance! May 20, 2020

By the coolest nerd you dont know
I have to say, after I started my first few rounds of a game, I was ready to delete the app and go back to WWF. After playing more, the layout of the home screen becomes more familiar (though not the most ideal) and it’s easy to play and similar enough to the classic game that makes quarantine feel less lonely. Major bonus: there are NO ADDS!! Something WWF is consumed by. It’s easy to see if tile placements work or not, messaging is a breeze, and you can invite everyone you want easily just like WWF. The con here is the home page layout. Going to the bottom to find your games is a bit annoying but you get used to it. Would be great to have all active games right at the top eventually! Anyway, give it a try for a full game and THEN decide if you want to go back to adds and app glitches on WWF. Ps. Destroying my little brother who’s an aerospace engineer gives me all the bragging rights I could ever need.

I’m highly addicted to this game. Love the app. However, the sound barely works most times. And currently the Prize Path is extremely glitched! If I have to put my phone down after reaching a completed stage, and I go back in, it automatically tells me I’ve lost that stage and wants 15 diamonds. Plus I’ll be in the middle of level, one with more than three boards and it freezes on me. Therefore losing all progress not only on that level but the entire stage as well. And of course it wants more diamonds to save your progress, or to continue. My diamonds are MINE folks. Not to be given to the glitch. I can deal with the sound not working. But I cannot deal with giving away my diamonds to keep my progress and constantly redoing a stage or level. You guys have GOT to fix this. Because I thoroughly enjoy doing the Prize Path.

Pls fix!
  • Annoying bugs and pushy design May 14, 2021

    By Ranger土豆泥
  • Sketchy Policies Nov 2, 2020

    By Opshai

    By mac fitz

  • Too much extra. Nov 11, 2020

    By Cindyleewood
I would have given 5 stars if not for all the extra crap in the way of playing the actual word game. That is why I quit Words with Friends and deleted it from my phone. I paid for it to get rid of ads and then with every update more unnecessary junk was added to it. Like cheats. If you have to buy cheats you shouldn’t be playing. And all the prizes. Why? Why can’t we have a simple word game for people who just enjoy playing without all the useless bells and whistles? UPDATE: still no fun. Why can we not just have a word game that is just for playing the game itself and learning new words and not for all the stupid prizes and cheats? I’m not playing for useless prizes or unfair cheats. And I’m also not playing to meet people and tell them my life story. When you finally wise up and go back to the simple word game without all the useless irritating fluff I’ll play. Hell I’ll even pay to get rid of ads. But this version just is a waste of time and energy.
  • Too busy & long games Sep 9, 2020

    By SoupSuperFan
As others have mentioned, this app has too much going on and should be stripped of some of the unnecessary features. There are a lot of things on the dashboard and one of the most annoying is that under “active games” a bunch of challenges appear from strangers when you haven’t even accepted to play with them. This should be separated from the games actually in progress and not included in the app notifications. Also, after every single word you play there’s a pop-up encouraging you to start more games, which is really distracting. Another problem is that if your opponent doesn’t make a play for a long time, you can’t quit the game or it’ll count as a loss to you. I have been waiting more than a day to finish about 6 games in progress with players that just have their first word and/or abandoned it almost at the end. There should be an inactivity time limit for each board/opponent so games are not endless.

So many bots. When I realized half the games I was playing were with bots, it took the fun away. Also lots of catfishing. Do your research on bots in the game and learn to spot them. That will make your game play more fun. I Uninstalled Anna I'll bet I lost all my tiles. And I was level 94. :( Game design is good but the ads get super annoying fast.

I have mixed feelings. I love scrabble, and I love the game play, but it's hard to tell which accounts are bots and which are real people. It seems that the vast majority are fake, and use stock photos for their profiles. The game has a lot of "porn bots" too, which try to strike up a conversation and take the conversation to other platforms. If you don't have the paid version, expect to see an insane amount of ads, so much so its unbearable

I love this game. But with the unbelievable amount of ads, freezing and making me lose my 💎 that I paid for/ worked and played long hours for, and taking sooo long to load, it has me on the verge of uninstalling the same game altogether. The idea of the game and the different tournaments/activities WOULD be great without all technical issues.

I enjoy play Scrabble immensely however after each input or round an ad appears and when pressing the X to return to the game one is directed to the specific site. I fully understand the requirement of adds, I do not understand why I 8/10 times get directed to a site I do not wish to go to. Most days the same add appears continously. It is very annoying 😒 There are even times when I play a round and then the game just closes. The game itself is awesome and enjoyable.

Was enjoying the game all these while. But way too frequent ads! And recently when opening the chests, the tiles given were repeating itself despite I've had already acquired and completed the whole set!!! Wasting all my tiles and the chests only gave out repeating tiles and not diamonds anymore, despite winning the tournaments! PLEASE FIX!!!!

I love the games itself, but the ads are ridiculous!! I mean, after every single play there's an ad. And long ones...I'm talking 30 second ones!! And the same ones over and over and over. I'm seriously thinking about uninstalling this app just because of the excessive amount of ads.

Hi scopely I’m glad I still have access to the old scrabble. Tbh this is just all around weird to market scrabble like this. If you want to attract real scrabble players then please have a version that is the same as the ea one. Namely, the ability to look up a word if it’s not your turn or in play, and the teacher should always be free, not free for a little while. Honestly that was such a turn off. The needless animation is also kind of terrible and I find myself quitting the application just so I don’t have to click through a series of annoying clicks to buy a subscription for $5 a month I’m never gonna get. I really think you will get a lot of people paying a one time fee over doing that it’s kind of ridiculous and I doubt in the long run you will keep it. The one thing I do like about this version is it seems that it’s easier to play with people who are actually pretty good as opposed to the ea version where it was harder to play against random opponents in a way that was user friendly. considering scrabble is a game probably played by a lot of people who are over the age of 15 the whole like Disney feel animation thing is just kind of weird.

  • Just like classic Scrabble.... May 3, 2020

    By theymightberyan
Except you can earn rewards. Which we can all agree was the biggest thing missing from the old board game. And you can “level up”. Which is something I was writing to Hasbro about for years. “Hasbro, why does this exceptionally simple and perfectly executed board game not allow me to level up and earn rewards?” I guess they finally heard me. Oh, also, if you are looking for one of the games you might be playing, it’s actually not easy to find. It’s like a frustrating little adventure where each time you want to play, you have to brush aside all the different things the app is trying to get you to do other than just playing your existing games with your family and friends. Neat! I am so thrilled to be able to see how people on my Facebook friends list are achieving their various high score dreams. I remember before this if I wanted to know what an acquaintances highest score in Scrabble was, I had to write a letter and wait for them to pen their reply. Now, I can find that even more easily than I can find the games I’m actually playing! In all seriousness, this version of the game does one thing really really well: it highlights just how out of touch this developer is with the actual players of this game. I’m desperately seeking something to replace Scrabble. This isn’t it.

It's scrabble, it's fun to play with friends but online play is pointless because you can literally buy hints. Also the single player modes are unplayable because $copely likes to run an ad every time you put a word down. Trash, move along. PS: everything made by Scopely is a cash grab. If you see there name as the developer just pass to the next similar game, you will thank me later.
  • Terrible replacement for the classic game!! Apr 10, 2020

    By Caffeinate_Me
If you enjoyed the simplicity and ease of use of the old EA Scrabble game, you will HATE this app. There are way too many extra features that do nothing to enhance gameplay, but instead are attempts to get players to sink unnecessary money into the game. The teacher mode that so many of us used in the old version is only free once or twice, then you have to spend gems to use it. The two word reference sheet in the dictionary is gone (and if it isn’t gone, I sure haven’t been able to find it). The classic board (as the developers will tell you) technically exists, but it’s not immediately obvious WHERE it is. If you’re going to try to sell fans of the old version on this new version by claiming that the board we all love is there, it shouldn’t be so hard to find. Also, even if you activate the “Hide From Searches” feature in the privacy settings, random players can still start games with you, so I have no idea what the point of this privacy feature is. For people who like this style of game - lots of side challenges to earn aesthetic features, random challenges, daily chests, lots of extras - this is a good game. But for fans of the classic version who are being pushed into this version because the old one is going away? You’ll hate this version.
