Probably one of the best free games I've played. I love it! Only giving a 4 because developers need to do something and remove the chat option. It's become a breeding ground for middle age men as a dating site. When you refuse to talk to them they resign the game. Always asking to go on line or whatsap. Like I want to be hit on by strange men hiding behind fake profiles. Fix that and I'll give you 5 stars.

I absolutely LOVE this game, but have been noticing a problem lately... I will play in the tournaments and many times get into the top 3 winning spots right as the tournament ends, but then after it “calculates” the scores it doesn’t show in my inbox that I even won anything 😩 What’s up with that?? As for the scammers that everyone knows about, my friend and I have decided to start having a little fun ourselves, and I highly encourage everyone playing to get as creative as possible. We like to give these obvious scammers a bunch of bogus info and even make ourselves sound a bit cray-cray. For instance I responded to one scammer and said I was 100 years old, he was STILL interested when I started talking about how I didn’t have anyone to leave all my money to in my will 😈 Sometimes when asked my marital status I like to respond poetically and say things like “I have many husbands from many lands”, or “My husbands are plenty but few in between”. Or if you really want to freak them out a bit, tell them you’ve already put their photo in the heart locket you’re wearing and have just arrived in their city and want to meet up ASAP because you can feel it in your very soul that you were meant to be together forever. So romantic.

Update: I changed my rating from 5 to 3 stars. The game keeps freezing. Sometimes it shuts off. My prizes don't come through because after watching ads the screen goes black. I normally don't complain about ads on a free game, but the ads are a bit much. After every play an ad pops up. Really loved this game but now I went from playing daily to once a week if that. I do the surveys but nothing seems to change.

I have been an avid player for months now. I have had to accept and get used to the ads, sometimes I have to choose the option of watching yet even more ads to get prizes. But what is up with the winter themed Candy Crush ads? Even after watching it mid-game, it just stays there and won't dissappear, or give me the option to close it (clicking the x), because it is not available. This is a complete nuissance because in order to get rid of the damn ad, I have to close the game. Then, reopen it.

The app has too much stuff in it. You have to scroll through so much stuff to find what you actually want. You have to click a minimum of 3 times to collect 1 reward. (Click to collect reward, click to make it stop moving, click to actually collect it. More if the reward has multiple parts.) Constantly telling you to click here-here-here for this-this-this when I'm just trying to click somewhere else entirely to play what I want to. Also freezes and stops a lot.

Great game when it's working. It works for a day, then crashes when I try to open the app so I have to uninstall and reinstall it. Looks as though I'm not the only one having the problem, yet no responses about potentially fixing the issue?! If it keeps happening I'm just going to uninstall for good, I think. UPDATE: Rated 3 stars for the above problem. I've taken it down to 1 star because even reinstalling doesn't help now. Biggest waste of time app there is, i won't be bothering with it again.

Too many ads, too many flashing lights, dumbing down the entire experience, this “app” has it all. Do you want to be treated like you are in elementary school? Do you want correct words to not count due to a vaguely defined dictionary? Do you want the app to crash every five seconds? Love ads but hate actually playing? Then this app is for you! All the ads you could ever want, accompanied by all of the seizure inducing lights and effects you know you want. Oh, actually want to spare yourself the ads? Only $7.99/month and still will not spare you misery that I would not wish on my worst enemy. Avoid this app at all costs! You would come out better buying Scrabble and playing at home. Hell, it would be better to buy multiple Scrabble boards and play yourself at the same time! At least you do not have to worry about cheaters and bots. Oh, did I not mention that? Oh yes! Would you like to meet single guys from all around the world? This app is also for you! Terribly disguised “players” constantly getting Bingos all over the place while I am stuck with all vowels. There is a leveling system...in Scrabble. I should have known this app was a joke as soon as I saw the nauseating home page! The tiles you can earn (just stick with the basic tiles) are stupid, the ticket cap for arena is far too low, and you expect me to part with my money during a pandemic with this hack job of an app?! Screw this app and screw these computer bots! 🤬

Was great for a minute, ad's were about every 4 turns on average, but you know, free game, OK, but the all of a sudden the last 2 days every single turn I'm watching a stupid 30 second ad, ridiculous, I might log in a time or two in the next couple of days, but if it's still the same I'll delete the game, it's definitely not good enough for that many ads.

15 minutes. That’s all it took. 15 minutes before I realized some underage gamer had destroyed what was one of the best games ever invented - so I deleted it. I’m not a prude. I’m not technically challenged. I see younger generations struggling every day with attention span issues. I get it. But not everybody needs bells and whistles and jewels and God knows what else is imbedded in the Scrabble Go app to be entertained. If it’s about money then charge me more for the app, but to destroy a simple quality intellectual game like Scrabble and turn it into a moronic video game is asinine. You clearly could have included an option for people to choose the classic version - which, if it is available, I was unable, well unwilling, to wade through the nonsense to find it. That would have met everybody’s needs. We’re getting far enough along in the technology craze that not every computer geek or technology buff or game player is a 15 year old kid with the attention span of a goldfish. And the need to pander to said demographic while ignoring others may be at the detriment of your company. Consider there are actually older people -with money - who enjoy technology, that you may want to address in your product development and marketing efforts. If you’re designing a new game - no problem. But to destroy such a classic for no apparent reason is just ridiculous. I’m only giving one star because I have to in order to send my review.

So many things wrong with this app it’s hard to know where to start. The main thing I object to is being held hostage to watch their idiotic animations. This has nothing to do with them making money, which I know a lot of other people have objected to; this is just about their developers so proud of their work that they want to force us to watch this idiocy when instead we want to make a move. The worst is when the tile animations prevent you from actually making the next move. And another outrage is when they match you with someone who actually doesn’t want to play with you, but then even when the person quits the game after one or two moves, they make you watch the stupid statistics about which was the longest word, which was the highest scoring word...It’s bad enough to watch it at the end of a long game, but here it’s even worse. Yet another example of them holding you hostage to watch all their idiotic animations about things you don’t care about. Then there’s a strange phone icon with a red exclamation point in it, which means nothing if you’re not playing on a phone. What else? There’s so much that’s bad. E.g., you can never really tell whether you have a chat or not because it looks as if you do but then you don’t. Hopeless, why did they have to ruin it? It was fine when it was with EA but this company is obviously just appallingly bad.

  • Now has a glitch in the game! Jul 26, 2020

    By Huff60
This use to be the best app, but now there is some glitch. The problem is When I am playing a game and it ends with tiles left, both of us pass our turn twice so the game ends and it declares the winner however I start a rematch it goes back to the ended game where there are tiles left. The only way to get out of the game is to declare the match over. The problem with that makes me the automatic loser even though my score is much higher than my opponent. I have tried resetting my phone and deleting then reinstalling the app, but it doesn’t fix the problem. This glitch seems to be when I am playing Zoey the computer. Please fix! UPDATE I’m not sure how it was done, but my issue has been fixed! Therefore it is once again my favorite app!

I've played this last year and it was amazing. No lagging and too much ads. Now i don't know what happened. Almost everytime you exit the challenges, there will always be an ad. Very annoying. And everytime i go to the game, it will always show the connect to fb when in fact i already signed in. Good thing it saves the progress. Can someone fix this? It used to be great, now eehhh

  • The classic gets updated for today May 7, 2020

    By Journeyman2015
As somebody who stopped playing Scrabble for lack of real-life opponents who didn’t spend half their time being toxic, this is a bonanza. Sure the UI on the main menu isn’t the best, but the app does a good job making the experience worthwhile, even suggesting opponents who play at your pace. Duels are especially nice because you can squeeze in a quick match in just a few minutes without having to worry about playing a full game. Earning new tile sets to customize your rack with is pretty cool too...I’ve already seen some that scream to me, “I want to earn that!” My only real suggestion for the developers is that I would like to see some puzzles in the sense that you are given a game in progress with words already on the board and a rack to play with, and you need to find the best possible play on the board that you can. I just feel that this would help people become better players by giving them a chance to practice board awareness. Other than that, I love this. It’s worth the $5 a month for Club membership.

  • Give It A Chance! May 20, 2020

By the coolest nerd you dont know
I have to say, after I started my first few rounds of a game, I was ready to delete the app and go back to WWF. After playing more, the layout of the home screen becomes more familiar (though not the most ideal) and it’s easy to play and similar enough to the classic game that makes quarantine feel less lonely. Major bonus: there are NO ADDS!! Something WWF is consumed by. It’s easy to see if tile placements work or not, messaging is a breeze, and you can invite everyone you want easily just like WWF. The con here is the home page layout. Going to the bottom to find your games is a bit annoying but you get used to it. Would be great to have all active games right at the top eventually! Anyway, give it a try for a full game and THEN decide if you want to go back to adds and app glitches on WWF. Ps. Destroying my little brother who’s an aerospace engineer gives me all the bragging rights I could ever need.

  • Sketchy Policies Nov 2, 2020

    By Opshai
It’s a fun game with good graphics and in game incentives, and it definitely sharpened my scrabble skill by playing it for a few days, but the privacy policy of the company is rather sketchy. Of course, it’s for the more social applications of this app and you “don’t have to” but there are in-game rewards locked off by requesting you give them your entire contact library or make a facebook account in order to access them. The information usage by the company is vague and threatening, and I don’t want these people to have my address. Though I feel I should point out there’s not as many creeps and scammers as other reviews say, to give them credit. I assume all these info-sucking policies would scare off anyone looking to cause trouble, but I also feel that this invasion of privacy in the name of security is highly upsetting. It’s a decent app and worth your time if you’re willing to sell your soul and personal information for a few in game credits. Please think critically before agreeing to anything this app offers you, and if you’re paranoid like me absolutely do not get it. Too many times have companies overstepped privacy boundaries in greed. I don’t trust stuff like this.

I genuinely love Scrabble it is the only reason I keep this app. if you gave me the option to pay money to grt a version with less graphics/ animations. I would do it in a heartbeat. I would pay you $10 to reduce the graphics by 50%. It is a bit much. It was like I was in a casino. That being said playing Scrabble is solid and I do like the statistics.

The game is good however its has three large problems. 1. The amount of Adverts placed in between plays is bordering on obscene. 2. To remove the adverts you pay a monthly fee which roughly equals £54 a year! 3. If you decide to pay that fee well the third problem is the game crashes and freezes regularly. The monthly fee may remove the ads but it cant remove the bugs. 2 stars, the core game is fine but 3 glaring faults means I cannot recommend this game. Spend your money and time elsewhere.

The game itself is fun enough. But, there are some serious problems. It is extremely bloated. It takes ~30s to load. It is almost unplayable now. If I leave it open other aps reset when I switch to them, and so does Scrabble when I switch back (~30s). I'm better to take a screenshot, shut it down, then restart it when I figure out a word. There are also cheating bot players. One had 18 points/word, averaged 38 p/w over 10 games with 3 7-letter plays / game, then magically had 8 p/w on profile.

WAY too many ads interrupt the play. If you run Pandora for music while playing, the ads will pause it. This will happen several times per song. The board slides around when you move your letters. The useless "rewards" also interrupt play several times per game. Ugh. Many useful Scrabble words are not in the dictionary. This is a two star review because it being Scrabble raises it from one star. It needs quite a bit of improvement.

Hi scopely I’m glad I still have access to the old scrabble. Tbh this is just all around weird to market scrabble like this. If you want to attract real scrabble players then please have a version that is the same as the ea one. Namely, the ability to look up a word if it’s not your turn or in play, and the teacher should always be free, not free for a little while. Honestly that was such a turn off. The needless animation is also kind of terrible and I find myself quitting the application just so I don’t have to click through a series of annoying clicks to buy a subscription for $5 a month I’m never gonna get. I really think you will get a lot of people paying a one time fee over doing that it’s kind of ridiculous and I doubt in the long run you will keep it. The one thing I do like about this version is it seems that it’s easier to play with people who are actually pretty good as opposed to the ea version where it was harder to play against random opponents in a way that was user friendly. considering scrabble is a game probably played by a lot of people who are over the age of 15 the whole like Disney feel animation thing is just kind of weird.

I would rate the new Scrabble Go app zero stars, or even negative stars if available. EA/Hasbro had perfected the Scrabble app in recent years, and I’m sad to see it go on 6/1/20. I’m hopeful that in some way it will be resurrected in its perfect present form, which is clearly what all Scrabble app players want after reading many reviews. The new Scrabble Go is a complete failure. It has been dumbed down for kids, contains useless noises and other distractions, is difficult to use, and is visibly too small. Scrabble aficionados have no interest in this garbage. I have seen Scopely’s response to many critical reviews stating ‘this is a work in progress’. Well, Scopely, from reading the real reviews (not the multitude of fake positive reviews herein), you should glean that the Scrabble app in its present form is what we want: a game free from useless distractions, noises, and gifts; one with a built-in dictionary; one with a scoring mechanism so we can compete with players at our skill level; one that looks like the actual physical Scrabble board (same colors and tiles); and one that is easy to use. Scopely has taken away a gem, and I would rather stare at a blank wall than play the new Scrabble Go app. And I suspect that current Scrabble app players would be willing to pay for access to the app in its present form - I know I would. PLEASE OFFER THE CURRENT SCRABBLE GAME IN ITS PRESENT FORM FOR A REASONABLE FEE.
