Rusty Lake: Roots

Firstly, if you are colorblind (or even partially, like me) be warned that several of the puzzles depend on color matching to solve. But that not why I gave it such a low rating, I don’t expect the world to cater to me. I rated the game so low because several of the puzzles just flat don’t make sense. Even after resorting to watching the walkthrough for a couple of them,I was left scratching my head and thinking “ok, but it still doesn’t make sense...” The story is definitely... unique. I will give it that. All around, for the price I don’t feel like I wasted my money. However, I would not recommend it to a friend. If you really like puzzles and need to kill a few hours and the price is under $2.00, eh, just don’t say you weren’t warned.

I absolutely love this game. However, I can’t get into my “settings”, without the screen turning black and the app crashing. I can’t do anything, I.e let my screen go into sleep mode, look at another app, etc) without the game crashing. Once I start the game back up, it’s wiped clean. Last night I was at puzzle 24, I believe, pushed through the hours of the night to finish it (in fear of it losing all my save files).. only for it to randomly crash on its own and start me from the beginning.. all. Over. Again. If it would allow ppl to save their progress and not wipe it whenever it wants, I would give it 5 stars. Because it’s an amazing game.. but I can’t keep restarting the same game over and over again and dish out hours upon hours of redos.

Disturbing and boring at the same time? Really..... unpleasant and upsetting. If reproductive horror is your genre, this sure is the game for you. If you just want to have a nice day, seek elsewhere. It manages to be tedious and really gross simultaneously.
