  • Great rides/routes, terrible UI experience Sep 3, 2019

    By ShawnJSpencer
Honestly the title says it all. I love what service they provide, but the User Interface is terrible. For example, not being able to use the map to find routes on an iPhone but having it on an iPad is just lazy coding. They have the feature, but don’t make it possible on the iPhone. Another frustration is picking routes. Many routes have similar (or the same exact) routes and picking the right one can be difficult on the map (which isn’t on the iPhone as mentioned above). Not being able to filter routes by those that have video (or any other feature you want) is just ridiculous to not have in 2019. Also why is the iPad version so ridiculous with the HUGE information panel on the left that covers up part of the video. I love the iPhone layout while actually riding. Minimalistic and unobtrusive while providing exactly the information you need right here and now.

  • Great app. Jan 13, 2018

If you set up right the app will work and the fun is endless. Had to buy a Bluetooth HRM so to pair with app. I’ve been training for 2 weeks and already feeling the power rising lol. There’s no sound so choose your music on the side. I tried using iPad with Apple TV and it’s cool that it splits, you get the map on iPad and reality on TV. I’m using a Bluetooth smart trainer and works for me. It’s freezing these days in NJ and I’m a proud parent so to be able to train hard at home like this it’s amazing. Recommended.

Recently purchased a Smart Trainer - Wahoo Kickr Snap. Tried Zwift but not a fan of Virtual Reality. Rouvy uses Augmented Reality. I love riding Real Routes against other riders. I have even loaded my own routes. Never before have I been able to train indoors for much more than a half hour. Now I can ride up to 2 hours. Highly recommend it.

I’ve used this app for 6 months. I loved it but the past two months there has been an issue with data missing on the screen. I have opened multiple support cases and still don’t have an answer. One person tells me they are working on it and another tells me there is no issue. I’m frustrated. I pay for premium for a full year and can’t get a straight answer

I wish the app worked well, the concept is amazing. The ride physics engine is flawed, a few activities have disappeared, the tells you to move to Rouvy AR which doesn't support Ant+, support tells you to move back to workouts, the updates are way behind schedule, the web login has given me problems and many other issues. In fact nearly everything kinda works but not really. I wish the app just did what it commits to, it doesn't have to be as flashy as some of its competition.

Feels like one of those apps where developers are so focused on developing the main feature they forget users first have to get to use it. Tried to use my turbo trainer which is not listed - there is no guidance on what to do. Fine. Chose one from Tickr to make the app satisfied. Now it shows my speed sensor. Cool. But also loading spinner. And it spins... and spins... forever. No guidance on what to do either. Please come back when the app is ready to be used.

I have installed this on an oldish tablet with Lollipop, and it works. But the video freezing is bugging the hell out of me. The route continues, but video stops, then races, stops again, skips, stops again etc. Not a very virtual experience. I also have the feeling that resistance on my trainer (Tacx Flux) is lighter with Rouvy than in the Tacx Trainer App, but not 100% sure. It also gave me the creeps when I could not retrieve the activity in the app, although later it showed up on the web portal. The video issue should really, really be fixed. How hard can it be to buffer 50 or 100 Mb worth of video in memory so it never stalls?

I would give this app 4 stars if I was not paying for it. It has a beta version feel to it with lots of rough edges Some UI elements in black unreadable, regular freeze of the video stream, flaky bluetooth pairing, all of which I can tolerate. The dealbreaker is strava synchronization which from my experience is totally broken must either be fixed or removed, i have tried sending manually on the website Send is successful, whatever that means because none have shown up on strava.

The app worked fine running on a Huawei Mate 10. Using a Huawei P30 Lite it starts every ride in training mode. No way to save the activities. The support has been contacted but they suggested to not use Android.. I have already paid my subscription.. I will not renew it. I am sorry

  • A Real Ride Jan 14, 2020

    By Jonathannyethepianoguy
This is no computer generated ride! Actual video footage matches your pedaling effort and ups and downs on the road are felt by your pedaling legs. Of course there is no coasting, so this makes for a good workout—or race, if that’s your choice. Love this app!

  • Tons of bugs Jan 25, 2018

    By mp@g
    - street view still does not work despite developers claims - favorites don't synchronize from cloud - power hr cadence font tiny when riding - see Zwift fonts for these - Strava does not recognize segments after upload Switching to Fullgaz or Kinomap Update. Jan 24. Kinomap is way too buggy for use. Fulgaz has nicely curated videos but app is sluggish and crashes. So far Rouvy has the most stable app but videos are not the best. Maybe time for Zwift...

I love being able to choose my route every day and going to incredibly beautiful places. In the competing product, I felt like I was in the same video game each day. Establishing Bluetooth connections is annoying on most devices, but Rouvy's Ant+ interface with the USB receiver is wonderful. I have contacted Rouvy support by email many times and they have been very responsive considering we are 8 hours apart in time zones. The AR graphics have really improved but could be better

  • Great routes, app needs UI improvements. Dec 12, 2019

Great rides, but interface for finding routes could use a lot of improvement. Need ability to search by map on iPhone. Would also love to see a few screen shots of each video when looking for routes.

I enjoy the app but when I apple AirPlay it from my phone to TV. I don’t get the same cadence and power box on the TV screen as I do when running it with my pc. There are many routes to pick from. The Swiss mountains routes are beautiful and challenging.

What I miss in the app is workout descriptions. Explaining what the workout is like and how the workout fits into a tracing program. Others apps I have used do this in every workout. It’s very helpful.

Hard to use, I find that you have to search for exactly the workout that you want as opposed to scrolling through the workout library. Just kind of clumsy all around.

I joined rouvy primarily to get the video feedback while riding indoor on my cycleops hammer smart trainer. The problem was that the video would disappear after a few minutes of riding and I was stuck staring at a map of my progress. The rouvy support asked me several questions but could never offer a solution or explanation. It happened whether I was live streaming or if I downloaded a route. I would have loved the app if it worked correctly.

Right, update since using it......I've done a few AR rides, and the visuals are impressive....but this app is a lot of faff on the pc, you need to download all route, so planning is crucial...the resistance feed back as only worked once although it always say controllable is connected....it never connects to my phone....also takes hours to upload activities....also there seems to be no social aspect to it like Zwift and RGT i.e. not chat function during rides .....

  • Good routes, but broken UI and calibration problems Apr 24, 2020

    By gtsculling
I subscribed to Rouvy after the two week free trial period and I swear it worked better four months ago than it does now. I could write volumes about the clunky, overburdened and inflexible UI/UX, the 24 hour delay in uploading a workout, and the endless unintuitive menus, but what really drives me insane is its inconsistent calibration interface with my KICKR. No matter if you run a calibration or not, you have no idea if the app will work or if you’ll have to pedal like SAGAN in your highest gear to barely move the bike on modest inclines. It’s like they completely screwed up how gravity works vs. watts vs. grade. That said, the routes are beautiful and there is a decent selection - but what’s the point if you’re 120% of FTP on a 3% grade just to make turn the pedals over? Hold out for six months on purchasing this app until it gets an overdue, major overhaul.

Dreadful when trying to get Hammer 2 to connect for calibration. If I had known the app was so poor I would never have purchased a cycleops trainer. My advice, don't buy a cycleops trainer and get stuck with a monthly subscription to Rouvey to calibrate, the service is dreadful.
