This has replaced my former favorite app. They updated it and ruined it! This has a couple of small flaws but you get used to that. As best I can tell, this is as good as you can get right now.

This is so easy to play, even easier on a touch screen computer than it is on a desktop or laptop, where you use a mouse. My one criticism is that the settings button is in a position where I accidentally touch it all the time, and I wish it was at the top of the screen. Also, once you've finished a game, I think you should be able to go right to starting a new game, without having to tell the app this. If there are no more moves, what's the point of asking if you want to continue or start a new game?

    Great game.
  • Not bad but a flaw Jun 5, 2014

This iPad app is to play the game of Rummikub. It is not bad except for 1 serious flaw. You cannot see how many tiles the opponent has left (at least I cannot find the setting). So you do not know if they are close to going out. This is quite frustrating. It lets you set up your "rack" sorted by number of suit but if you choose suit, you cannot go back to number as far as I can tell (and it places new tiles at the end instead of in order). You can clean up the layout with a click on the broom, so it is easy to make room for new tile layouts.

This is my favorite game, and a favorite of my whole family. This app version is every bit as good as the real thing. Just a few small things i would see changed. 1) I wish that the bunyips had the same faces as the real life tiles did instead of a generic smiley. 2) would like to see how many tiles remain in opponents racks. Things I really like... 1) you can easily and automatically arrange the tiles on your rack in order my number and suit. 2) In many cases the tiles will move to the most efficient slot with just a tap so you dont have to drag it the whole way. 3) You can rearrange the board to your hearts content, and if your play doesnt work out you can just send everything back to the way it was before you began, that way you dont have to remember what you did.

  • Plays well. Irritating Controls. Lacks polish but a good game. Jun 27, 2015

    By Gentle Explorer
It's a shame. It plays a good game of Rummycube but is indifferent to good user interface design. Illogically laid out controls and missing key displays (like how many remaining tiles opponents have) make this a three star app. It's 5-stars on play and 2-stars on usability. More points... Double tapping a tile will move it into a logical position...or into a random one, making the feature pretty worthless. The arrangement of e cleanup buttons is more random than organized. The developer clearly cares more about adding raw features than on making the playing experience a pleasing, attractive one. The app feels like it written by a brilliant 13 year old.

  • Much better than Rummikub May 31, 2013

    By dotshell
This version of Rummikub is SOOOO much better than other versions. The moves of other players are shown just as a real player would do them--no messing up the whole board so you can't tell what happened. There are FAR less instances of receiving duplicates on the tray. In the other version, I had duplicates almost everytime I played over and over--much more than in a real life game. Love this version and not sure why it has received so many negative comments.

Romi is just like Runnikub that I used to play with tiles. It is much better and more addictive as I can play against one, two or three VERY smart opponents. The interface is clean and very intuitive and much more fun than card games - I have it both on my iPad and iPhone and find it a wonderful diversion. I have had some questions for the developer and he has been VERY responsive. Jim

It's a great app. I have a few suggestions though. 1. The player shouldn't always go first. 2. The AI misses some obvious moves with the wild card. Basically it never seems to reuse them even in expert mode. 3. Sometimes when I leave a game and come back by pressing the app icon there is a glitch where way to many cards are shown in my hand and the back drop goes white. I can fix the issue of the cards by pressing the new game button several times but the back drop stays white. I can still play though.

  • Great game but one suggestion Aug 13, 2015

I have played this on my computer for years and also love the app. My only complaint is that there is no option for a wildcard. I have kept my old computer version without the wildcard since I prefer to play without. Would love for that to be an option!

Why does Romi always have an opening play? It is always three tiles each play. I never get an opening play for quite a while.
  • Great, with one exception Jan 3, 2013

I love this game. Physical layout is way better than app I was using before. The set up of board is very helpful. Having a rack for each suit is excellent, as is the ability to rearrange my tiles. My one complaint is not knowing how many tiles the opponent has its hand. I would give 5 stars if that was fixed.

I hope the programmers read this since there is no place to write to them directly (frustrating). When playing with different numbers of opponents it would be most logical to have different score boards! Thanks. Otherwise I love the game.

Would love to give Romi 5*. It's captivating. Just two things holding me back. 1. Only one way to to sort tiles. 2. Can't tell how many tiles left in opponents' racks. Contrary to your response to a previous writer where you claim that remaining number of tiles cannot be seen in real life version, I believe you might be wrong. With tiles, they can be seen in opponents' racks; with cards, players hands can be seen. Upgraded just for this & I still can't find a button in any level that gives this option.

  • If you like tile rummy you will like this. May 20, 2012

    By Sildero
There are two downsides to this game. One is that you can't see how many tiles your opponent has left unless you tap out of the screen, that's annoying, others have this same complaint. Also you cannot play with friends. These two upgrades would make this a 5 star game.

Used to be solid but recent version does wacky stuff on both my android and my wife's iphone. Leaves illegal combinations after it's turn and there's nothing you can do to get around except kill the game

I play everyday and the basics are all there and done better than other similar games. Please consider for future update allowing for left-handed players by having option to flip location of trays and draw button. Would also love being able to change background.
