There's not much to it, but I find it very enjoyable. I don't play much, and mostly just log on to collect offline earnings, but I'll launch once or twice each time I play. I've changed planets a few times, and there are a bit of ads, but that seems average to me. At the least, this game deserves a few minutes of your time.

  • Good Game but a few issues. Jul 9, 2019

    By Abmonster7
I’ve been playing this game for about a week now off and on. I will play for about a half hour. Wait 3 days. Then play again. All around I enjoy the game. It’s fun to see how high I can get and keep upgrading my rocket. Especially with the offline multiplier when you open the app after being offline. I figured out that’s the best way to make lots of money. I enjoy it so far but there are a few down sides. For one... the game is not consistent. What I mean by this is that even if you do the exact same thing as you did the round before with or without upgrades the odds of you getting to that same point or making a new record is slim to none. I tested this too. I used the same rocket for all three tests. I didn’t upgrade it once. I would be sitting on the launch pad and hold the screen to the point where the rocket would blow up without letting off the gas. I did this three times and got three different heights. I feel like it should be the same height every time since there were no changes to the rocket. Second thing I have to pick at... the ads. Literally every single time you finish a round an ad pops up.

Okay there is a flaw that can be used to hack getting money very fast! You can tap the screen once and the rocket will go up about 5 feet and deploy the parachute. In doing this you will receive a cash reward equal to about 90%-95% of the maximum amount of cash you can earn at the moment and you can do this almost exactly 5 times every time (sometimes 6 or 7 times) before an ad pops up so it’s like collecting 5 full runs of cash in about 10-15 secs, ad pops up, wait the few seconds for the exit button to pop up, exit and then repeat earning massive amounts of cash in a very short amount of time. So essentially you are earning 20+ times the amount of money in the same amount of time. I was on the third plant after playing on and off throughout the day for about a day in a half for about 30 mins at a time barely paying attention before I figured this out and within an hour of figuring this out I beat the game and maxed out all my upgrades.

  • Mindless Fun Mar 6, 2020

First: If you want a challenging game that will stretch your mind to the limits, this isn’t that game. But, overall it is a fun game to play. VERY simple controls (just tap the screen) and easy to understand. There is really no end “goal” which means you could keep playing for ever. I guess technically once all your upgrades are maxed out that would be “beating” the game. Second: There must have been an update, Becuase I now have new rockets and planted available, but my fuel and stuff is still maxed out and that makes it impossible for me to get to another planet. Third: There are a lot of AD’s for a free game, but it is free, and we want new levels so someone has to pay for the time to develop them. So it doesn’t bother me personally. I don’t understand the hatred some people have for a free game having AD’s. I mean if you spent nothing then just delete the game. You lose nothing at all, but oh well.

  • ADS BLOCK YOU FROM COLLECTING REWARDS Feb 11, 2020

    By Ali9 ^_~,
This game is simply ruined by the fact an ad will pop up. Every. Single. Time. Juuuuust before you attempt/are able to collect your reward. Then if you want to watch a second ad you can double that reward. So basically an ad is rammed in your face (sometimes two) every 10 seconds or less. Not to mention the banner ads across the bottom and the tiny ad windows that pop up in the in game to the side of the play area (but still flash, change and blink constantly to draw your attention). You can pay $2.99 to turn ads off but I have no idea if that gets rid of all ads but I assume you still have to watch one to double your reward. Won’t be able to confirm for certain since I have deleted the app and will not be reinstalling. I understand ads help pay for the game and keeps this, and other games free, but one to two 30 second ads every 10 seconds or less is excessive by any standard, then add to it the banner ads at the bottom and the tiny window ads in your face when your are actually trying to play and it’s just not worth the time to bother even installing the game. If you played this game for 30 rounds you would have spent less then 5 minutes playing the game and 15-30 minutes just watching ads. Not a good return on the time invested in it. Oh, and an active internet connection must be connected at all times. So no air plane mode either folks.

  • VIP really? Jul 23, 2020

    By plykins
I downloaded this a few months ago and I’m okay with the pop up ads in it as they need to make money somehow. I played about 20-30 minutes first 3-4 days a day. Then logged in once a day for my offline cash then every few days and did one rocket each time and evenly bought everything. The offline mode stops accruing money after 12 or 24 hours so no benefit to waiting too long. Game is boring as you click 4 upgrades and hold a button a while and then just tap for a few seconds. But it was a good stress reliever when you needed something mindless to take your mind off things. After about 30 days playing that way give or take I ended up maxing all tiers unlocked all ships and planets. Haven’t played it in about a week or so until tonight (when I maxed all 4 items upgrades). Noticed that they added a new “monster truck ship”. So you can ignore the ads and pay $5.50 a week or $15 a month to ignore the ads (which you can usually skip a few seconds in) for 2x earnings and a monster truck ship. No thanks. For a game you can max everything in about 5-6 hours of free to play that VIP offer set me off and I have to comment on this game. Most games like this you pay $2 to $5 to permanently unlock. I want to feel bad for the suckers that do VIP but the saying a Fool and his money. I have added Kwalee to my black list of companies I’ll never touch their apps again.

I love this game so muchhhhhh!! Awesome job to the developers! I like this game because there are multiple rockets that you can get and you don’t have to stick with only one rocket. And the other planets are very cool and unique. But, like all games, it’s not perfect. I’m not saying is has to be perfect but you know what I mean, right? I think that when you upgrade your rocket and on the things it says “free”? Well maybe that’s making it to easy! Every time I come down it says free on there EVERY TIME! Some people may not agree because it makes you go higher faster but it also makes it to easy!! Change number 2: you know when you get to a new planet, it makes you start all over again!! Not cool! Well that’s all I’ve got so hope this review helped!! Have a nice day!!

Awesome game, first rate, Great time waster, simple easy to understand mechanics, yet having a surprisingly strategic quality, I was sad when I got to the end of the game, would have liked the no ad purchase availble when I was at the beginning, but now that the flights take ~2 hours each I welcome the 30 sec ad. My game theory is this: There's a black hole at 10,000,000 (miles?) the distortion starts at about 4mill, but is nothing compared to what happens after 9mill, unfortunately with the new update adding "max" to all the stats, it looks like 9.1mill is as far as I'll ever be able to reach. Still a grade "A" game definitely top notch in my book! Highly recommend you waste some of your time playing this fascinating game! :)

  • Fun game Jul 29, 2019

    By Deed Nutz
The game is overall fun in a nice package. I wrote a really nasty review on an earlier version. The reason for that review was due to a large number of inescapable Ads being plastered in front of the user at a frequency that made the game unplayable. (We are talking 1 or 2 thirty second long ads for every 10 seconds of game play - not exaggerating) The devs have fixed this problem, and as promised I’m rewriting this review. You users out there need to understand that in order for a developer to make a game free, they have to use ad revenue or else they won’t be able to afford all those insane bills we all pay (like rent, or required insurance industry scam payments). This game (and all games) should provide a way to avoid ads - preferably by throwing dollars at them. The developers here added that ‘pay to remove ads’ feature recently. They also fixed the frequency of ads issue to a much more reasonable rate. Now I enjoy playing this game for a bit of time each day without having my mind raped by sudden advertisements! Good times and good game!

GUYS! We have it here! the best....(uh nope). Not happening guys. This is possibly the absolute worst game to ever hit the market in all of history. #1) ads, EVERY TIME YOU RESET! #2)....(this is the funniest thing ever 😂😂😂)..... YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE WIFI OR DATA CONNECTION 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 THAT WAY YOU ARE QUITE LITERALLY FORCED TO WATCH THE ADS AND YOU CAN NOT PLAY THE GAME😂😂😂 Sick app guys. I have a deep hatred for developers like this who think its okay to create garbage like this. Its not a game, its a place to watch ads. I hope the devs view this and feel sad knowing that they are all human scum🤷‍♀️ but they most likely will just be laughing that another idiot (myself) downloaded their game. DO NOT GET THIS APP!!!!!!

Good game minus the ads. Some tips?: 1) Invest in offline early- Every time I hop on and collect my offline dough, 90% of it gets reinvested in Offline and it’s definitely been worth it 2) Go slow to go far- I’ve tested this extensively. Going fast is fun, but when you want to break your record, go at a slow but steady pace and tap the screen, don’t hold. Good way to progress to next planet 3) If ads bug you, stop playing- they don’t get any better. You just have to ignore them and you need an internet connection to play so turning off WiFi isn’t an option 4) Only watch ads to upgrade Offline cash- this ones optional. You don’t have to but it saves money, and you can also watch ads to upgrade other things but I never thought it was worth the 30 seconds of my life, and this is coming from someone who spent a collective few hours playing this game that cost $20 to make

  • Good game but needs content Jan 1, 2020

    By thatlamboman
I’ve had this game for a while and when I downloaded it, it took me about 2 weeks to beat it. Now traditionally this wouldn’t be a big deal because it’s a small game, and I’d wait for updated content. Unfortunately if you look, this game has never been updated. I’m not sure if I’ve heard of a mobile game before that has never once been updated. It’s been a while since it’s release and it seems like the developers put it out there, and then forgot about it. It’s a shame becuase if they added just a few new rockets and planets it would all so much to the game, and really wouldn’t be all that difficult. It seems like a waste of the game. So I’m rating it 4 stars because the part of it that I played was good but now that I’m done and they’ve never updated it it’s boring and I never use it.

  • Addictingly annoying Oct 14, 2019

    By Oreoshik
Ok so this game is pretty fun. I keep on trying different methods to see which way is more efficient. One thing that annoys me are the ads. I am not talking about the ads that just pop up after a launch, but I am talking about the ads you have to watch to upgrade. The upgrades say, “Free!” And there is no way to upgrade with the in-game currency when this happens. At the start I did not mind this, but it gradually gets more annoying. This just makes progress really slow and turning off wifi and data doesn't work because the free upgrade button doesn't go away. I would be better to have two separate buttons for upgrades one being activated with an ad and the other being activated my spending the in-game currency. Or if you are trying to upgrade and don't have enough money then it prompts you to watch an ad to get the upgrade. Money isn't everything you dunce.

  • It’s not a bad game, but it gets boring fast. Aug 1, 2019

    By Lord Ursa
Rocket Sky is a simple game: Go as far as you can and don’t blow up. At first, there’s a lot of satisfaction in upgrades. Eventually, however, you learn that the rocket upgrades for achievements are purely cosmetic, as well as new planets. Once you unlock a new planet, that planet’s gravity applies to every other planet. So there’s no way to go back to Earth and see how far you’ve come. Also, there comes a point where staying in flight becomes boring. You’ll have such a fast speed and big fuel tank you won’t stop for minutes and you’ll be ready to blow yourself up looking at the same looped wallpaper of stars zipping past you. All in all, it’s fun for a couple days but there’s little effort put into development, little reason to become so “powerful,” and an unrewarding feeling of earning new rockets.

  • Needs to fix the ads and crashes Jun 15, 2019

    By AshleyBahr
Love the game is a fun idle game but sometimes it freezes after I watch an ad or even before I watch an ad! Like I’m willing to watch the 30 second ads for the 2x collect but after I watch it I go to collect but it freezes and won’t let me collect it. I go and restart the game and I don’t even get my money. So I HAVE to just collect the minimum and it still plays an ad. Fix this and I’ll definitely play more because it is a fun game and I do enjoy it :) ALSO; Make an ad free version, will be willing to pay for it. Or at least fix the 2x ad thing so it doesn’t crash and I get my double reward please. I’ve also read this game has even put off awhile. I believe you should update it to fix the bugs and add an ad free version or at least make it so it doesn’t freeze.

  • Too consistently boring Jun 22, 2019

    By User-19
I read the reviews before playing this, so I already had low expectations. However, after 25 minutes of playing, I’ve found most the issues addressed by previous reviews. Ads after ads, inconsistent gameplay, glitches after optional ads. And to top it all of, the game presents incredibly monotonous, linear, and just boring gameplay. Only 4 upgrade options that increase in price every time you buy one. All the goals for rockets and locations are absurdly high. I haven’t reached the second location yet, and yet I’ve found myself spending over 5 minutes only to reach a fraction of the requirement for the second location. My suggestions: add some obstacles that you have to slow down or speed up to avoid, increase gas efficiency, lower the requirements for goals, add upgrade options that correlate with obstacles (Ex: protection, anti-obstacle gun, warning system), maybe add a story that increases incentive to advance to new locations, add a payment option to game to reduce ads. Right now, this game plays like a new game: boring, too many ads, poor gameplay. This game does show potential to be a fun a phone game given it improves gameplay and finds other ways to make money than endless ads.

  • Too many ads to really be fun! Sep 14, 2019

    By Roxtar73
The way I judge these types of games is how much fun do I have between ads. While the game has the potential to be great fun the ads kill that. Every second launch your being hit with an advertisement video. It almost takes less time to launch twice than it does to wait for the skip button on the video. Then they charge 2.99 to remove ads. I’d happily pay .99¢ I’d even begrudgingly pay $1.99 but I’m not paying $2.99 basically $3 for this game to be ad free. Like I previously said if the advert videos were spaced farther apart I’d consider buying the game even at $3 but when developers use this make them watch ads constantly approach, it instantly makes me want to delete the app from my phone which is exactly what I’ll be doing after writing this review. The two stars I left are for the potential this game has. Perhaps I will redownload this app in the future to see if any of my issues have been addressed this then I’ll be playing other games.

Game was fun in the beginning. I understand it’s a free game so the ADs are expected, problem being those ads start at 5-10 seconds and once you play long enough they go up to 25-30 seconds. Then there a points where you launch, complete the travel and it will give the option to double your money by watching the ad. These ads are always at least 30 seconds, but once you make over 5k in a single launch it will almost always have you watch the ad then not give you a single dime. It will freeze and refuse to move forward. Which is whatever, at least I thought it was, until I started earning over 7k then it just refuses to give you the money and freezes. After all of that it just turns into a big old waste of time and space in my phone. Extra: if you turn off data and internet you don’t get any ads at all. Plus if you just launch the rocket a few feet you get about as much as you’d make if you went decently far.
