  • Feeling compelled to edit my review Mar 19, 2020

    By Apple Rocks Hard
So, three and a half years after my last review, and all I gotta say is this. To the developers of this classic app, thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for your most recent updates and changes. The subscription only content is still there, but it’s out of the way now, and pricing is much clearer and more obvious. Furthermore, all sounds are now free and pre-installed, from what I can tell. The interface is much, much easier to use, and VoiceOver accessibility is significantly improved for adjusting the volume of individual sounds in a mix. I absolutely adore the community mixes feature, and I would encourage anyone who uses this app to please share your mixes for me, and others, to enjoy. I’ve decided to edit my review and up my rating because honestly, after its most recent update, this app deserves all the love I can give it. I’m still not in any position to use the subscription based meditations, but that’s OK. I finally have all the sounds, and that’s all I ever wanted. May try the meditations someday, but I’m in no hurry. To the developers, thank you again for a great update.

apps. Making your own mixes of sounds and being able to save those mixes is awesome. It would be nice if the sounds had a random pattern option or an adjustable length/speed of play. A big problem is sharing your mixes. When I share a mix with friends who also have the app it won't let them open it. It asks them to download Relax Melodies. Why doesn't it just use Relax Meditation...please fix. Anyone there? It's been over a year since I contacted you and you said the issue would be fixed.

Can't sign in to save your mixes from one device to another. Very archaic in that sense. A person works hard to create what they deem as little masterpieces and it's all gone when the phone leaves you. Should be able to sign in. Can't adjust the volume of each sound without the complete sound needing to be turned off first then back on again to which the volume appears then disappears fast. Over all great experience. Possibly too nice only to find its short lived and proprietary to that device. I just can fully commit my love and heart to apps that don't let you sign in so they can save your time and effort for a lifetime. I'm really sick of starting over my entire mix library. I now rarely use the app because it's caused me commitment issues because it's only a matter of time what you must say goodbye to all your hard work for you now want to upgrade ur phone and now you will have to restart all over. No thanks, thus timing is timing one can never get back and it's meticulous adjust every sound to the right mediation. You really never wanna do it again nor can you remotely remember the million matriculations it took to get the mix. All hard work inevitably down the drain in time. I hate that :(

Really good app, but my wife and I have the same exact app, and she has sounds that I don't show. Such as Joy and Tibeten Bowls. I try to run the same sound setup, but the missing sounds make it impossible. Make each install the same and I will bump it up to 5*.

  • My favorite app. BUY IT!! Dec 13, 2018

    By pokinatchapunx
I love this app and I use it every day. It has a huge selection of sounds that are very relaxing. The sounds are high quality & don't sound loopy, and the interface gives its users great control over mixing and matching their own preference of soundscapes. I love that. And you can save your favorite mixes. I also like that they continue to add new sounds & features with their updates, so the app just keeps expanding and getting better which is fairly rare for a lot of apps these days; they just do one thing, but this app keeps growing. So many things I love about this app. I highly recommend buying the premium version. It's totally worth it, it's a high quality app. It even has guided meditation now - sometimes the Alram clock will not work for me. yikes! That's dangerous, so I just stopped using the alarm feature, which is a bummer because they have really great, gentle sounds to wake up to. But on the upside, they updated the app to mute when the iOS alarm clock rings, and when u hit snooze, the app unmutes and continues your sounds. That's great. Buy this app. Worth it!

  • Loved it but...update 😡 May 24, 2018

I am so upset. I’ve been using the free app for years, then finally, a couple months ago I purched this in a bundle. LOVED it. But since the update a week ago, my favorites are gone, all the meditations that I loved are now requiring subscriptions (and if the developer thinks I’m gonna pay monthly for their app they’re insane.) I understand needing to make money, but subscriptions are a waste of money. I paid for this app, and I want it back the way it was. ***in response to developer’s response: you did not read my review. I had many of the meditations - for over a month - and all of my favorite mixes were saved, but with the update that all changed. I do not see how this has anything to do with subscribing. Yes, I get that you want me to subscribe to get the meditations now, but it didn’t used to be this way, and I am upset. I hesitate to even say this, cuz you’ll probably change it, but with another app in your bundle I still have access to many of the meditations, and my favorites are still there, just like this app used to be; I purchased it at the same time I purchased this app and I am not subscribed to it. So, something isn’t adding up.

Updated review: I used to love this app and use it every night, but when I got a new iPhone and I had to reset this app. It’s absolutely horrible now. None of the sounds that I’ve repeatedly made save, NEVER. Once the app closes, I have to recreate every single sound. Also, if you paid for premium to get the meditations back in the day, DONT UPDATE THE APP! They now make meditations only available for subscription, which is a total rip off, when you’ve already paid for the premium version of the app. Overall, you’d probably be best looking elsewhere. Original Review: I love this app, it has essentially every sound you can think of, that's relaxing and soothing. I can't sleep without it. You can set an alarm on it, so it goes off on its own or set an alarm for it to turn on. Either way, if you're an individual that likes to sleep to nature-like/relaxing/zen-like/soothing sounds, this app is for you!

I used to love this app and used it every day when I went to bed. Working night shift, it can be hard to get good sleep but this app used to help with that. Lately though, the isochronic tones are so quiet they're barely audible, which is the only thing I ever used this app for. It's basically useless now, which is a shame because I liked this app so much I paid for it. I have a Galaxy Note 8.

  • Baby Crack Oct 24, 2018

We call this app baby crack because it has literally knocked out my two of my three kids when they are newborn and to one years old. It continues to work. I say two out of three only because I didn't have this app with my first. I used it to put my third newborn to sleep second day in the hospital so the photographer could take his picture and like magic it worked! The photographer was shocked. It became a conversation starter when walking through the store with it playing people asked me if there was water running? Lol I suggest different levels of rain, ocean waves, slow waves, and maybe the orchestra or melody. My husband and I also sleep with the sounds at night. I love this app and its definitely worth the money for the extra sounds and the app running in the background while you are in another app. Especially us momma's who multi-task. As I write this my little one is actually falling asleep to the sounds next to me. Don't be a cotton headed ninny muggin' and buy the app. 😜

I've been using this app (and the related ones) in one form or another (meaning I was on iOS previously, liked enough to buy on Android) for about seven years. I have mixes for my yoga practice, others for my workday lunch break in my car and, of course, for bedtime. Absolutely awesome. With the variety of sounds and the ability to mix with or without the "beats," there's just about no end to the mixes you can create.

  • Excellent. Jan 14, 2018

    By lxybar
Use it for things I never thought I would. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and have trouble going down again. Use relaxing noises and combine with a binaural and I'm down before I know it - maybe it just helps me relax but who cares why it works. Also use it to read when focus is required on the always busy NYC subway. Binaural for concentration drowns out details of people's voices and lets me 'hear myself think'. I almost feel like I come up with ideas more when hearing that binaural - but maybe that's BS. Anyway, I'd hate to complain about too many options, but who can go through all these sounds to find out what they all do? I like that I don’t have to because I can save my favorite combinations. I haven’t done much with the meditation as I have other apps for that but it’s nice that they have that option.

  • Excellent app, subscription thing is weird Aug 27, 2018

    By Catclizm
Update: Still love the app as a white noise aid, but the push for the subscription stuff is kind of off-putting, especially since I’ve already paid for the app itself. Is the base app free now, or something? I’m pretty sure it hasn’t taken away access to any of my sounds, but sometimes the phrasing makes it seem like it has or will? Mostly seems like it’s for the mediation access, which I don’t use. But the interface & sample collection is still nice! ————— I love this app. It has a nice mix of sounds & definitely helps me sleep. Very soothing. I do kind of wish it had a better interface for adjusting the volume for the individual sounds, but it's otherwise fantastic.

  • Relaxing Melodies that help to ease the stress. May 15, 2018

    By Spiegelbe
I struggle getting to sleep an nights because of the never ending conscious stream of thought running through my brain. This app has helped me create my own personal sounds to help me quiet the thought, replacing that noise with sounds of peace. I use the timer to make sure whatever soothing sound I mix together stays playin for most of the night. Not too loud, but loud enough to keep my brain from straying. There are plenty of ‘white noise’ or ‘meditation’ types of apps available. I be looked at several but found this one to have a great selection of stand a line sounds that can be mixed together for your personal lullaby.

This app helps me so much by making it easy to tailor the exact sound I need to relax in a variety of situations. It has the most amazing sound choices and i love that you can vary the volumes in the mixes that you build... in fact I love that you can build mixes! I love the alarm and the count down so you can wake up to something not jarring or have it turn off automatically. If I could change one thing, I would give options on how to organize the sounds so you can group them in ways that make locating the exact sound easier... rain with rain or all the melodies together etc. Maybe include a search function.

I hate the new update. I have been using this app for years now, bought the full version after 2 weeks, because it really helped with my insomnia, but when it updated to the current layout and features I felt kind of blindsided, as the previous version was so simplistic and you didn't have to wait for the sounds to download one at a time, but now it seems as though this company is just trying to compete with other apps and make a profit with the whole subscription thing.

  • “Sound” purchase, am satisfied Jan 17, 2018

    By {Piper}
I am very happy with the options available on this app. The interface of choosing them is visually good, with the golden icons with symbols, but a couple of suggestions: 1- when a sound is chosen, the icon changes from golden to yellow. That slight contrast is too subtle when searching it out to discontinue that sound. 2- it would be nice to have a listing of running sounds, to avoid scrolling all icons to find the one you want to alter or discontinue. ( which, honestly may exist and I just haven’t found it?) The selection of sounds is nicely varied and I have found options I like very much, and having the option to mix them is great. Overall, I am satisfied with the app and I would recommend it

  • Still needs work May 14, 2018

I want to give this app more stars because I use it so often but pairing poor layout now that there are so many sounds (but don't take them away, if anything add more) and the issue of charging subscriptions on a paid app keeps me from doing that. I can't stand subscription apps. The only thing I feel is worth a subscription is Netflix and that is because it is cheaper than cable. I love the additions to the app otherwise but it needs a drop down menu or something where you can go to pages of sounds, meditations, music player, or the beats. That way you don't have to go through so many pages to find what you want. Still one of the best sleep apps, but nothing should ever be completely finished with apps, there is always room for improvement. Update: The layout is a little better but the update was mostly about design to me. So, I am not sure the update was worth the wait. I am still hoping for some more soothing low hertz melodies, flutes and high hertz sounds wake me up or at least get irritating.

I have been a loyal user for years, having purchased many of their apps in a bundle and individually years ago. I stopped using for a couple of months only to come back with the meditations taken away except for two. You could've at least kept the existing meditations for those who already paid for your app. Now you want us to use an app that is already paid for AND subscribe? You should've created NEW meditations for your subscription service, not revoke the items from your paid customers. I'm so disappointed in you, and I see I'm not the only one. I definitely won't be subscribing due to how you treat customers that supported you by buying your apps.

  • Hate Version 6.2 May 4, 2018

    By KD578
I used to love this app until they had their most recent update (version 6.2). I used to have my two favorite sounds thunder and light rain; I still have thunder but no longer light rain and it said would I like to download, so I click yes but it won’t download the sound. Also, where did the volume go?? The help article says their is a volume button but nowhere in my app is there a volume button only the option to raise the individual sound which doesn’t help and I don’t want to raise the volume of my phone just to here the sound, previous version was so much better. Very tempted to delete this app and find a different sound app.

Bought this as a premium app several years ago. They have changed this app completely from what it used to be and now expect you to pay for a subscribtion. You don't even get new sounds. I only wanted to listen to nature sounds, which the old app had fufilled. I don't need any of this meditation junk. Very shady, very gross monitization practices, go find another free nature app!

This was a paid pro version of the Relax Melodies app which years ago I gladly purchased because it was such an excellent app. Now, there's a (FAR more expensive) "premium" subscription option in the other version of the app, which you supported with a revamp and addition of more sounds. This app? You haven't even made any attempt at updating this one for over a year and worse, you replaced the "pro" label with a suspicious "P". This is a joke. Is this the way you treat your old loyal customers? To cease app updates and support to make us pay even more than we already did in order to access the new features? This is so disappointing.
