Interesting app and idea, wish I could do it offline like when camping but I understand why it's not possible. Can't wait for the redesign. Only feature request would be to have a list of history of generated points. Wanted to write a report but the app reset.

  • Took us to places we couldn’t go 😫 Jun 30, 2020

So i know this is a new app with small developers! I support that but the app wasn’t giving me good locations to go....i live in the coal region so like there’s nothing but mountains and woods....first time i did it it took me be-hide the person in my town that was saying no trespassing:( second time took me to my friends house ok cool after that it took me on a 12 mins ride to a WA waste area where that’s private property! Then today took me to someone’s backyards not knowing it was a drive way and hit cursed at 😜 honestly i didn’t mind the running around and it was fun but i was disappointed i could not go to the location it was taking me and i even did some pre ones to see where it will take me and half of them are on property that is own...so i give this app three stars still fun but disappointed...i hope the app gets better soon because i want to experience what everyone else did.

The first time you load the app, after it goes through terms and conditions and location, scroll all the way to the right and select settings. Update them to adjust the radius you wish to generate points in (which helps to eliminate far away points), as well as to eliminate water points (which are usually inaccessible to most users). This results in a less frustrating experience. It’s also worthwhile to watch the how-to video (linked in the app each time you open it). Keep in mind that the app is developed by volunteers, and is being updated as problems are located. Occasionally, there will be issues. Luckily, the team is quick to respond to enquiries on the official subreddit, so you don’t usually have to wait long for them to work on a fix. As with any app using GPS, stay safe, stay aware of your surroundings, and don’t trespass. Reaching the exact destination isn’t as important as being mindful of how the journey changed your outlook on the day.

I love the idea of the app and all, really gets your mind going and overall fun. But since I downloaded the app and put all the stuff down to find me a point to explore it takes forever to load in anything. Then I get an error message, either the "source of entropy" can't be found or it gets past that point and starts searching for the point then another error message saying it can't find it so it then picks a random point instead. Disappointing.

Amazing! I live for adventure, and now knowing that there is an app that helps you find adventure, well, lets just say that my summers will never be boring again! I've read all the reviews here, and am a little shocked. I think what most people don't understand is that adventure isn't just about urbexing, or finding creepy things, it's about the feeling of just doing something new, and appreciating the world around you. The thrill of adventure is always there. Thanks for making this! 💜💜💜✌

As other people have said, I do understand that this is a small group of volunteers—all that jazz. I just logged into the app & it said you only get 10 generated points a day. Now, for people that are lucky enough to live in a large city, this might not be bad. However, I live out in the country. I always set my distance to 10,000 meters so it gives the generator a chance to give me a good spot. I don't live far from a couple cities (they’re within 10,000 meters). I usually have to go through about 40-50 generated points before I actually get one that might be worth going to. The spots it always gives are the middle of privately owned farm fields/backyards OR the middle of the water that I live by. I get theres a package you can pay to avoid water, but I haven’t had an experience where I felt it was worth it. Ive had the app for about 4 months, & there hasn’t been a place worth checking out. I think Ive gone to about 6 or 7 places & it ended up just being a waste of my gas. So, my biggest problem with the app is the “10 points a day” because it generates me a bunch of crap. Its probably not worth keeping around now that they implemented that because Ill just get farm fields & water. :(

I've had extremely interesting 'adventures' with the app, although it's very poorly implemented. And now there is a 'daily limit' which I just don't understand. What is the limit, and to what it applies? Last time I used it, I got a point, accidentally cancelled it on Google Map. I went back to Randonautica, the point was not stored there, and the app told me I reached my daily limit. Nice start for a great idea but I hope you guys improve the interface, efficiency and documentation of this app.

Great idea, would be really fun to use if it weren't so glitchy. Downloaded it from the app store and on my Android phone and both would not load new locations after 5 minutes of waiting telling us to focus on our intent. Frustrating since I paid for it, expecting to go on adventures, only to have it not work when I wanted to use it.

  • Stop complaining about the coordinates you get May 16, 2020

    By s000ph
It’s a random generator. You’re gonna get random points. This is clearly stated literally everywhere and I just read a review where they took away a star because the app did what it’s supposed to! If you don’t like the coordinates you get you can just hit a few buttons and get new ones! The app’s purpose is to give you random places, you would have to ignore EVERY DESCRIPTION the app, AppStore, and instruction video give you to not know that. This app is made by a small group of developers, stop giving them bad reviews because their app works as intended. If you’re contemplating downloading the app, do it. It’s super cool (and kinda creepy), it’s worth a look. Watch the instruction video and read the description in the AppStore and you’ll be fine!

First of all, kudos to the SMALL team of VOLUNTEERS who have worked super hard to expand their server to over 300k people in only THREE DAYS!!!!!!!! Second, this is SO interesting. i've never considered myself as a super spiritual person, but i am really interested in the universe/vibrations/intentions/etc. and i LOVE urban exploring and hiking but i quickly ran out of places to go in a very big city. but with this, my boyfriend and i have limitless places to go (with caution of course!!!). on our second try, it brough us to an ACTUAL SWAMP in central ohio!!!! i had no idea swamps could even exist in ohio, let alone in the middle of a city! absolutely crazy to me, i love this app SO MUCH, and thank you for all of the hard work to let us enjoy it!

  • Great concept, needs work! May 15, 2020

    By Marina_225
I saw videos and posts about this app and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately when I downloaded I had the same issue as a lot of others, it was a white screen. I closed the app, restarted my phone, and tried again. It worked! However it then wouldn’t let me agree to terms and services. It would say, “Send failed,” so I would repeatedly retry and it wouldn’t work. I decided to delete the app and redownload it and try again. Now it’s either a white screen again or I have sending issues with my location, which closing and restarting my phone no longer works for it. I really love the concept of this app, and hope to be able to use it when bugs are tweaked!

I'm guessing the average user probably finds this up a little more mysterious than me because I play several AR games that utilize cell phone pings the way that this app seems to in order to generate locations, I haven't run into anything paranormal or strange yet but I'm relatively new to this whole thing so we'll see what happens.

UPDATE: If you use webbot, everything works fine! Amazing app when working! (Old review) It doesn't work. It just loads forever with this prompt, "getting quantum entropy, focus on your intent." And if it does load, I then proceed to get an error that reads, "there was an error sourcing the entropy." Its a shame, I really wanted to try this!

When you try to use it on the map (Randonaut section on menu), the start button is broken and you can't generate a random point. You can use the bot to generate a random point though, but you can't use the bot to change the search distance (So I can't use the bot to even get out of my town). I haven't explored any of the points it has generated yet, but most of them have ended up in people's private property.

This isn't a game, it's a rng, tied to an app, that basically just picks random GPS locations in your area. They claim there is some sort of logic to this, but there isn't. I've had duplicates of the same location. Random=busted. You only get to vote on what your results are, because the thing will tell you it can't find what you've selected, and it will give you a generalized random point, instead. There is absolutely no reason to spend money on this app, whatsoever, but it's fun-ish.

  • Disappointed!!!!! Jun 26, 2020

I finally had a day off and showed this app to my mom who was very intrigued. As soon as we start looking for location it doesn’t work, it’s slow, glitchy, and the locations it gives us are people house and highways. How are we supposed to explore locations if that’s all we are getting. My mom downloaded the app as well and she hasn’t gotten one SINGLE LOCATION EVER !!!! it just says focus on your intent or something like that. I have never been so disappointed I’ve seen all the tik tok videos of these kids finding crazy thing but we can find one single thing. Maybe if the app was majorly updated and way easier to understand i will use this app again. But since none of that’s stuff is done i will not EVER RECOMMEND this app. It’s a waste of storage, time, and patience

So...it worked as advertised and have had some great experiences and some stunning synchronicities. Seriously. But... lately the "Randonaut" button with the slider and map that shows your point as an expanding red circle works about 5% of the time. It just keeps saying "error sourcing entropy..." then either gives me a pseudo point or tells me to piss off and try later essentially. Later never comes. I paid for the upgrade to get unlimited points...there is more but I am out of space. 🙄

Doesn't work consistently and I paid for 20 more targets for 99 cents which i did not recieve, because I had exceeded my daily limit and since then it always says I've exceeded my daily limit whenever attempting to generate random way points. It was fun when it worked but useless presently. Has been for weeks.

Idk, its a cool concept. I was trying to find something creepy or unusual. Most of the time the app was just taking me to random houses in the area. One time it took me to a graveyard which was cool. I am having a problem getting my 10 daily refill. I have been out of trips for 2 days now and it wont refresh. Good app though.

  • You have a server security issue. Jul 25, 2020

    By aVeryBadCat
Used this with no intention of going to the random point. Shortly after there were two people walking around my property looking for a way in. This is in an area where that typically isn’t an issue. If I had to guess, based on the basic way the app works and small dev team, both your local gps coordinates as well as the destination are accessible remotely through some kind of unidentified exploit. This could leave the user vulnerable to burglary if they begin from a home point (you will be expected to not be at home) as well as vulnerable at the destination point. It’s doubtful that use of the exploit is so widespread that it will happen every time, but it would also explain many of the strange events surrounding the app that happen from time to time. This is just a hypothesis, and would require the devs attention to confirm and fix. If you want to use the app, I’d recommend not starting from home. good luck 😄
