    After it not working for a while, something must’ve changed and it now actually registers brushes from my device. It’s not bad to use. I’m pretty sure I have to open the app every time I want it to sync (as opposed to it just logging it in the background). This is totally expected, but the sync can be a little finicky. I have to press refresh a few times usually to make sure it picks it up. The points system actually seems kinda fair. It’s varied so when you go on streaks you get WAY more points than otherwise, and I feel like I could actually get some free stuff within a rational amount of time (I’m going for the free bag right now). Edit: Kudos. They’re making it better and better. Since my last review I’ve discovered you don’t have to open the app every time you brush, and it remembers your brushes pretty well. Not only that but they made a huge improvement in a recent update where it starts the next day at 3am, which is more sensible and accommodating IMO. Can’t wait to get my free bath case

    Great idea and I love the products, but the app could definitely do with some improvements. I would love to be able to see/manage my subscriptions in app, as well as see when they ship/are expected to ship. I'm hoping that the rewards screen will be fixed so it will show the correct number of points, I can't redeem any rewards because it just says 0.

    I am so pleased with the Quip app it’s easy to use and most of all FUN to use!!! My teeth feel good and I feel good using the Quip app every day after I brush my teeth (twice a day ofc thanks to quip) with the point system I love brushing my teeth seeing the points go up feels great not to mention my teeth love being clean it’s a win win with Quip. Thank you to H3H3 for introducing me to quip ✌️❤️✌️

    They have the right idea, but several improvements could be made. It takes a long time for the brush to sync with the app, if at all. There are very few "objectives" that give you the opportunity to earn points, so it takes an unreasonably long time to earn enough points simply to have a few bucks off an item. I love the brush though, so I'll keep using it.

    The app works great… when it works. 90% of the time the app WILL NOT WORK, when open or not. You 100% have to open the app while your brushing, and even then. My last brush recorded was JANUARY and I’m writing this in May. I want it to work without the step of opening an app, waiting for the brush to connect, THEN brushing my teeth. If the brush is on while I’m waiting for it to connect, it will count it as a session, even while just… waiting to connect. If I turn it off and then start again with my brush it’s a weird second session. Annoyed as I like to track everything.

    I hate to say this because I've used a quip brush for years and love it, but so far this app does not seem ready for primetime. It was challenging to pair and now that it's finally connected, the stats are not accurate as far as time used, top vs bottom brushing, etc. Updated 6/5/21: Still hasn't figured out to ignore the 3 sec when I turn the brush back on to rinse out toothpaste vs counting that as my daily brushing right after a 2 min recording. App now force quits immediately on opening. Ugh

    Really love the brush and app, my only complaint is it doesn’t automatically sync so even if I have my phone with me, the Bluetooth doesn’t automatically sync and I end up losing a streak even though I’m brushing twice a day.

    Started out not syncing/connecting at all. After my one star review and a few more tries, it's now paired with my brush and I'm finally earning points. The app is a bit quarky overall, but it gets the job done for the most part.

    I've been using this for a few months now, and the last 2 updates to this app have been nothing but frustrating and disappointing. I had many days where I spent more time getting the brush to turn on and connect than brushing my teeth, which defeats the purpose of the app and brush. It fails to record 3-4 out of 7 days of the week, the brush time is pretty off, and often the brush stops working mid brushing. I purchased quip because it was very affordable and seen a lot of good reviews. However, now I'm considering canceling my subscription and search for another smart toothbrush. The issue is not worth saving a few dollars for.

    Update: Total points show but I can't redeem any points. The redeem screen states 0 points. I tried logging out of the app. Big mistake. It needed to pair my new brush before continuing. I've now lost all the history from my original brush. Great app... Still no response from Quip. How about instead of telling people they can brush until 3am, spend time on fixing all the other items the update broke. Perhaps provide an update on where you're at.

    I’ve had my Quip for 3 weeks now. In that time, 6 brushes weren’t logged into the app even though it showed that my brush was synced and the app was open. My husband has had this problem multiple times with his as well. This is the whole point of a Quip tooth brush. So far I regret buying Quip, doesn’t seem worth it if you never know when it’s actually going to save it. Please fix these glitches, this shouldn’t be such a problem.

    Brush tracking used to be spot-on, now it's inconsistent as all get-out. Not sure if it's my motor or the app itself, but it's missing brushes and duplicating others, so my points aren't tracking correctly and it breaks any semblance of a streak that I had even though I DID brush. I've already replaced the battery in my toothbrush, in hopes that it was the problem, but it didn't help. I keep using it, but not sure what else to do. It still won't even register than I brushed half an hour ago.

    It's a good thing I'm not prone to epilepsy because trying to get anywhere in the store just leads to a bunch of rapidly flashing colors. The store front won't even load at all, if I do get a glimpse of the page I'm looking for it's for barely half a second before the seizure fest starts again when I try to scroll.

    I connect the brush and then it goes thru all the brushing info then it just goes to a blank page that just has a button that says Done that is not able to be pressed, tried restarting my phone uninstalling and re-installing it 3 times tried not connecting to Apple health

    over a year and upgraded to the Bluetooth version several months ago. I’ve been noticing that battery is dying sooner and sooner. I’m now luck if I get 10 days out of one. What’s eating up the battery life?

    Doesnt work. Was so excited to get a new quip brush but it doesn't connect to the app at all. I've tried all the trouble shooting steps and still nothing. Almost feels like a waste of money bc half the reason I bought it was to track points on the app. Very sad.

    This app is... Not up to par. I brush twice a day, and keep my bluetooth on, and it only registered my brushing half the time. Then when it does register it tells me I'm not brushing my teeth evenly. Then support tells me to stand up straighter so that it knows when you're switching 😐 did that and it still shows me in the red for my top/bottom depending on the day. Also won't connect unless the app is open apparently. Wish I'd just gotten the cheaper one.

    It takes a while to accumulate points, but its still better than not earning anything. I switch between my Quip and a manual toothbrush, so I also lose my streak often. It was easy to pair following the in app instructions. Easy to find the data, and its been registering all my brushes accurately. There's also tons of educational content to improve on your dental health.

    I think this app gives great incentives to brush your teeth. The biggest incentive in my opinion is just taking care of your health. If you’re doing it to get points for free stuff that’s cool, but it will take more than a month of good personal hygiene and making sure that app logs it. The app will chart your brushing activity and give you advice. The app is not instant, but works just fine. If you can bother yourself to make sure it is logging your process you will be fine. Open the app and refresh frequently after brushing and you should not have issues. I recommend creating a profile first before you even open your package and then following the easy set up instructions. The biggest disadvantage of this product and app is there is no real support system other than a very delayed email support service.

    I've always had incredible difficulty establishing and maintaining a toothbrushing routine. This holds me accountable and gives the ol' reward centers of the brain a little nudge. Downside: currently most of the actual rewards are just free or discounted Quip products.

    Update: 4 stars for changing when a day ends for the purpose of streaks! I'd really like to be able to see how well I've been hitting my 2 brush a day goal over time. The current week long graph and amount of points I gained on a day views don't do a great job of that. It would also help me keep my streak going if the day ended at 2-3am instead of midnight. When my streak gets broken because I was up late, it's really discouraging.

    The recent upgrade looks very nice, but I feel that it came with a sacrifice in functionality - it seems to take much longer to sync after the recent update. Additionally, and this is NOT the developer's fault, but it's currently not working on my phone - however I am running the Android 12 preview so I am much more inclined to blame my beta OS than the developer's of this app (if you're curious, the brush won't communicate with my phone at all - reset the apps data and can't even pair)

    It's a very cool concept and a great toothbrush. Main issue is that after the most recent update, it is insanely difficult to get the toothbrush to sync with the app. Also street max out at 7 days and then reset. It would be nice to an overall streak instead of the weekly streak.

    I am not happy with my new, Quip electric tooth brush. It doesn't make my mouth and teeth feel cleaner. I'm having problems opening the case to change the battery and brush head. This is really not good for me.

    The idea of the app is great. The design is pretty good. When it works it’s awesome, but if often doesn’t work. I use this to help make sure the kids brush their teeth and help give them feedback on whether they are brushing properly. I paid for the smart motors so I can get this data. Unfortunately I’ve been disappointed so far. 1. The connection and data transfer from the toothbrush to the app is inconsistent. There is no consistent way to get this transfer to happen (where it says ‘calculating’) and the new brushing activity gets logged to the app. For example, I tried for over 10 minutes this morning after watching my kids brush their teeth to log it and there are still not showing up. The kids love seeing their points add up after they brush so this is the biggest pain point for us. Without the reliable transfer of data to the app the smart motor is useless and a waste of money. 2. The data seems to be fleeting. Sometimes we will see the points increase, then it drops back down. Seems like there are multiple sourcing of data that overwrites each other. 3. The strokes and intensity metrics don’t seem to always be tracked.

    Great when it worked. Now all it tells me is that there is no new data. The last time it recorded a brushing session was March 25th. Feel super bummed out that I wasted the money on the "Smart" motor.
